Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

I read last night on the internet that a woman's fertility is temporarily increased for 4-6 weeks after a mc. Anyone know anything about this?

MrsRigby · 27/12/2009 17:48

Looks like AF is visiting me too tigerbear, I've just been the toilet, wiped and there was blood.

Boodle I know what you mean. I think it's getting really hard at the moment as I'm about 2 and 1/2 weeks away from what would have been the EDD of my mc. At least we will be on a nice sunny holiday when that date arrives.

Also "everybody" else is sprouting nice big bumps or has just had their no. 2s which doesn't make it any easier to forget.

tigger15 · 27/12/2009 15:58

My Christmas present was AF at about 10.30am on Christmas day. Really great one. If I'd had the option of burying myself in bed for the rest of the day I would have done so but sadly not. So that means I'm now on a fun cycle of either 26 or 31 and am thoroughly depressed. Sorry for not posting earlier but it just seems to get harder and harder as each month goes.

boodleboot · 27/12/2009 15:09

tigerbear zayja cake tigger.....what news??

i have had such a lovely christmas, luckily for me i have great parents and family in law....we went to see sherlock yesterday and all i can say is guy richie should be shot with two lock stock smoking barrels.....never again will i EVER see one of his films.....

i feel really chilled out and have had such a peaceful christmas and me and DH have really got into this everyother day BD and never been so close....coming up to our 1st wedding anniversary in feb....this year has flown by, i really hope that by this time next year we will have a baby to celebrate its first christmas with.....we saw our Goddaughter Dotty yesterday and it was her first christmas.....so chubby cheeked with big blue eyes and dark black curls......poleaxed me momentarily as the grief hit me for the babe we lost...hits you when you least expect it doesn't it.....i buried my head in her curls and sobbed silently for a moment before composing myself playing peekaboo behind the raggedy mouse we had bought her....DH saw. He felt it too. Ah well.....2010...THIS will be our year, all of us.....

Well mrs r the grass is always greener! I sit wishing upon a star that someone would want desperately to take dd for a couple of hours for a break but my parents live a couple of hrs away and my stepdad is a slightly unhinged alcoholic so even if they lived closer and were so inclined they wouldn't get their hands on her. Dh's mother died when he was 9 and none of his three younger sisters (30, 28 and 23) can drive or walk he length of themselves and even when we've been at our wits end wouldn't see that we need help..

For example after my most recent mc I didn't get so much as a nice text from one of them. Then that very same sister suffered the same fate and all of a sudden I was the shoulder to cry on etc etc

honestly family who'd have em?!?!

As for the serial testing I wholly sympathize the last time we ttc I was a NUTCASE honestly I lost track of the number of sticks I peed on.. There's only so many times you can pee on your hand in one month and maintain dignity!

Your ds sounds a delight mrs r, my dd will be 3 in April and it makes me sad that I haven't managed to provide her with a sibling or even a whisper of one but I'm trying to enjoy her and let it go since I know there's nothing I can do about it..

Oh the craziness of it all!

Cheepz you sound like you are havin a ball good on you!

Mrs r, louiseh and boodle your Xmas pressies sound lovely! Dh bought me a ridiculously expensive diamond ring to make up for him being snappy and tired from working long hours.. It's beautiful :-) he has also booked me tickets to Paris for my bday but he doesn't know I know!

Meita I hope your Xmas has been as good as it can be oh how every ache and twinge is difficult to bear when you have a history such as ours but I hope that you are enjoying this bean as mch as to can.

Apples! With all this twin envy we need more info!!! Tell us all! Will you find out what you're having? When's the next scan?!?!

Ok ladies I've written war and peace including a rant on inlaws following mrs r's rant which made me want t share! Am off home tomor so prob won't have Internet but hoping for some good news by the time I get back! Xx

MrsRigby · 26/12/2009 20:20

BFN again this morning - what a suprise.

I can hear you all screaming you know.

I'll do another test on New Years Day, but none until then or after .

And if I don't get a period or a BFP after 2 months (17th January), then I'm going to see the doctor.

We're all sick still .

Went to the parents before to swap presents. They brought DS some socks that are too small, a ball and a santa lolly pop.

A santa lolly for a 1 year old? Covered in sugar? We're all vegetarian and it's made with gelatin?

This is exactely why DS will not be left with the grandparents.

DH reckons we just need to educate them . Yes, they're going to listen and do what we ask if they look after DS alone (which will never, ever, ever happen) especially when they've brought up 10 children between them.

Grandparents are well known for doing what they want and coming in between the child and it's parent.

Then Dad asked when he could take DS on a steam train - just him and Mum. Why are they so hell bent on having DS alone with them?

There is no way, in a month of Sundays (where does that expression come from) that they are "looking after" DS.

Dad is becoming more 'a few currants short of a fruitcake' and would accidentally kill DS if left alone with him. Plus he's a religous nutter (Deacon).

Mum is very suffocating, all over DS, won't leave him alone and freaks out when he puts a wooden hammer in his mouth. Same woman who told me we had to have stairgates (still haven't got any) and could not have a real Christmas tree (guess what, we've got a real Christmas tree). Also told me lots of other things I've chosen to ignore .

I should point out that I did try posting this morning, but DS hit the delete button (very clever, but not clever enough to talk or walk). We're now calling the on/shut down button the naughty button as DS keeps pressing it so often.

Oh and Mothercare charged me for nappy cassettes twice (only brought 1), but I didn't notice as I was trying to get out quickly as DH was driving around with DS waiting for me.

Cheepz · 26/12/2009 19:25

i have drunk too much and eaten too much ... its great

am in france so its blue cheese, seafood and all the bad things.

dh wbought me beautiful diamond a\nd ruby necklace - thats it, but thats fine by me!!!!!

heres to a bfp filled new year

SamanthaB123 · 26/12/2009 16:12

Sunburntats: I am so sorry that you are feeling so low...although not pregnancy related I have been really quite depressed following a bout of meningitis. Try to remember that everything you feel is normal and ok. It will pass and you will return to your former self. Be really kind to yourself and just get through each day. I started seeing a counsellor and having reiki and that really helped me too. It did take me a while - months to recover completely but it does happen. You are really brave and you will get through...I hope you did enjoy Christmas. Thinking of you, SB

Also, took another pregnancy test this morning - BFN. What a suprise. I'd love to say I won't be taking anymore, but I think you all know whats going to happen.

Evening

Guess what. I couldn't resist, I did another pregnancy test this morning - negative. Although, if you hold it up and then tilt it, it looks like there is an extremely faint line. DH thinks not. Yes I know, I can hear you all screaming, it's an evaporation line and of course you are all right. Doesn't stop me staring at it though.

I'm officially insane.

I've promised myself I'm not going to take any more. I'm just going to wait for AF .

thefatladyscreams I'm sorry AF arrived. I guess all I can say is good luck for next time.

meita I'm so happy your pregnant. You give me hope.

tigerbear and zayja good luck. My fingers are crossed for you both.

Hello everyone else.

In case I don't get a second tomorrow morning I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas.

just dropping in to say

Merry Christmas to all!

thefatladyscreams · 24/12/2009 16:56

Hi everyone

Sorry for the disappearance. Been manic with work, plus snow bound and power cuts (no heating ) etc!

But have been lurking and trying to catch up with everyone.

God what a lot of news. Welcome to everyone who has just joined - so sorry you're in this boat but this is great place to be, with ladies who really understand the rollercoaster of post m/c ttc emotions. Sunburntats - heartbroken to see you back - that must have been so hard after you saw the heartbeat and probably thought things would be OK. And VivC my dear, that is so incredibly tragic. I don't know what to say. But huge hugs to you all.

AF got me early on Monday. I was a bit pissed off as I had the inevitable secret hope of a Christmas BFP (would have been due to test today....). Also it was the first cycle since m/c when all my temps etc were text book so I'm a bit pissed off at having a short cycle again followed by very slowly falling temperatures. But that's one for the new year worry box!

Sorry for the me, me, me bit. It's so lovely to catch up with you all. Sorry for my fellow companions where AF has arrived. Stunned by apples's twins - glad I was sitting down for that one! So pleased to hear you're OK meita - please try not to worry too much. I sometimes wonder if all our tools (temping etc) are a double edge sword - maybe ignorance can be bliss!

I'm joining cheepz in the eat, drink and be merry now and then shag like rabbits in the new year club!

Finally just to say thank you to all you amazing ladies who have given me so much support, laughter and sanity in the last year. [TFLS gets all sentimental!] Seriously, it has meant so much to me. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and here's to a fertile and busy new year for us all!
