... or a handbag out of spaghetti....

MummyLovesSadie · 09/09/2009 20:53

Hmmmmmmmm perhaps I'll go to the kitchen to make a pair of shoes out of a bagel then....

MummyLovesSadie · 09/09/2009 20:48

Neeko chocolate top hats.... WTF??

MummyLovesSadie · 09/09/2009 20:46

Thanks for all your hands to hold, it means a lot.

Actually Neeko I really do trust your intuition as you have been right many times! Do you really think it might be twins though??

Blue it must be difficult to have to try & entertain your ds all day without being able to recharge your batteries. Oh I do love a man in a kilt! There is something macho, patriotic & utterly utterly fwoooaaar about it! Of course I insisted that my dh & all Scottish male guests to our wedding wore one!

Buddha my scan is it 2.30. I sympathise with your pain as from about 7 months with dd I was on crutches as I had pain in my pelvis & all the ligaments in my feet collapsed due to weight gain & my already super-stretchy ligaments being made even more stretchy by the relaxin hormone. Even now my toes look odd!

Neeko · 09/09/2009 20:45

Blue you're evil! I have a big bar of Dairy Milk in the cupboard that I've bought for making top hats at DD's birthday and it's shouting me!

Buddha Hope something turns up and soon. x

BuddhaBellyBigPants · 09/09/2009 20:23

Neeko I agree doesn't matter which so long as they cover your head
Blue Stop teasing with the mars bar! Although I've just scoffed a piece of vienetta DH is applying for jobs, but where we live is quite rural so the business that have folded probably won't return to the area, think the recession will hit us for a lot longer than other areas, typical! Still working in the jobcentre means I get to see some of the good ones first!

bluesatinsash · 09/09/2009 20:19

Slightly chilled from the fridge so flakes break off with cold glass of milk (to be said in Derva whatshername M&S advert voiceover)

Neeko · 09/09/2009 20:16

hi Blue Glad to hear your DS is geting on well. My DD also has attitude but think it comes from spending weekdays with her older boy cousins. DD stopped napping on the 2nd day of the school holidays but has slept every day this week for my SIL - typical. It's probably a growth spurt though.

Half-time and 0-0 so fingers crossed for happy hubbies.

BTW I soooo want a Mars bar now

bluesatinsash · 09/09/2009 20:14

Hi Buddha and sorry for x-post! Rubbish news about your DH's job . I know you knew something was coming for a while but still shit. Has he been looking around for anything? The news is full of stories about the 'green shoots' of recovery and how recuitment agenices are seeing an upsurge in placements....

Must email cupcake. What rotten timing for her DH but great news about her temp still being up....

Neeko · 09/09/2009 20:11

Meant to say Buddha stationery or sand - as long as I'm still burying my head, what's the difference?!?

bluesatinsash · 09/09/2009 20:09

Hi Neeko - another footie widow here too. DH has trundled through to Hampden - again - any excuse to wear his kilt . Thanks for asking about DS - he is getting on great at his ante-pre school. His confidence is really growing to the point that I'm ocassioanlly getting the toddler equivalent of "talk to the hand, cos the face ain't listenining" . Its a double edged sword, wanting them to be confident and assured but keeping their ego's in check . A lifelong task me thinks....

re: asprin - consultant told me to take it 4 weeks before conception (how the hell do you work that out?!) so I took it evey day from February and only stopped last week. There are so many conflicting stories but I feel it helped me in a placebo type way, i.e. I felt like I was doing something to help baby stick. Was also reassured that there were no side effects....

Hi MLS - will also be with you in spirit tomorrow. Know what hell these scan rooms can be so sending you every sticky toffee pudding sticky vibe I can muster. Yes its that DS is no longer napping but he is three and I'm surprised I've gotten away with it for so long.. On the plus side he does now collapse into bed @ 7.30pm rather than 8.30pm when he napped... Hence I'm on here! I do miss my 'me time' on the PC with my sarnie at lunchtime tho'... We have a desk PC not a laptop so I can't sneakily go on it as would have to come upstairs...

mermaid - of course you'll have no more knickers down jeans scenarios now you're going commando .

4ever - lovely to see you wobbling back today with a wee spring in your weeble wobble .

Hoping lovely to read you're A-ok too and ready to go and embrace your next pg .

Off to get Mars Bar from fridge, I'll be lurking as get too uncomfy lying on couch x

Neeko · 09/09/2009 20:09

MLS I know it doesn't matter what anyone else says - at least not tonight - but I have such a strong feeling that this LO is a fighter

Buddha sorry about your SPD and your DH's job. Rotten luck but I'm sure sunnier tmes are around the corner.

BuddhaBellyBigPants · 09/09/2009 20:08

MLS I forgot scan is tomorrow isn't it? What time? I will be thinking of you, all the luck in the world but I'm sure you won't need it

MummyLovesSadie · 09/09/2009 20:05

Actually just having a feel of my (.)(.) & I'm definitely more than a handful, there's no baggyness in my 36f bra & they are a little bit tender. Honestly, I'll be the happiest woman in the world if only I can come back to you all tomorrow afternoon & tell you about seeing a healthy bean with a heartbeat. I hope someone up there is listening.

BuddhaBellyBigPants · 09/09/2009 20:01

Catch up alert
VJay Beautiful picture, so happy for you and your family, DS looks really proud
Barbie Love the new thread name but not as much as the dentist story, nearly wet myself
MrsKate Sorry to hear you're still feeling crap
4ever I think you are coping amazingly with all the anniversaries that you have had/having at the moment, I admire your strength lovely lady and you did make me with the fertility pie story. My consultant did say that I shouldn't take the baby aspirin until BFP too, will be interesting to see what your googling research says.
Sabs Not long for you now
Cupcake Any news on the interview and DH's job?
MLS Lol at you fattening up! I seem to have completely lost my normally huge appetite, definately haven't got the eating for two worked out although DH seems to have Will think of you on Friday
Moon I have my pom poms out to do the stay away AF dance for you if you like Well done on talking to the pg ladies, hope tomorrow goes as well as can be expected
Neeko How are you feeling about being 12+1 Good I hope? Are you still buried under your stationary?
Blue Thanks for explaining the SPD for me, the white coat looks lovely on you
annie Glad to see I'm not the only one on countdown to mat leave, 10 weeks on Friday!
Iggy Love the list, hopefully a guarantee of a BFP specially if you get the new job
mermaid Hello lovely, how you doing? Can't say I've ever "found" a pair of knickers up my trouser leg
hoping Sounds as if you had pretty much the same verdict we had, how are you feeling about it? I wanted something that could be fixed rather than nothing wrong if that makes sense? But loving the symptoms you seem to have
Jools Your non-symptom spotting is going so well They are fantastic signs test test test
Barbie Have you started buying anything yet? Did you sort out the hospital saga too?

Waves to LBM Fifi Curly & Gracie hope you are all OK?

Well still no appt for physio yet, I know I only saw mw last Thurs but not being able to walk for more than a few yards without pain is just a little annoying I think I'll chase it up tomorrow, especially as DH and I go on holiday in just over 2 weeks, he's also being made redundant the Friday before we go lovely timing!

MummyLovesSadie · 09/09/2009 19:58

Oh Cupcake if you are reading this so sorry about your dh being made redundant. What shitty timing. I know it doesn't feel like it now but I'm sure something will come up for him soon & it might even be better than the job he's just left. These things always happen for a reason. I've been made redundant twice, both times were totally out of the blue & they were both with immediate effect but each time I ended up with a much better job.

Neeko scan, what scan...... must be confusing me with someone else? !

Neeko · 09/09/2009 19:53

hiya MLS How are you feeling?

MummyLovesSadie · 09/09/2009 19:51

Jooools!! Aching boobs? Extreme tiredness? Dizzyness? Nauseousnessness? I'm shuffling up on the medium pants bench as we speak to make room for you!

Neeko · 09/09/2009 19:50

I'm here Jools Lots and lots of symptoms for you Sunken bath sounds fab.

Neeko · 09/09/2009 19:48

Hi. I spoke to Cupcake via text earlier. Her DH was made redundant today so she's feeling pretty low. She hasn't heard about her own job yet and her temp is still high. She's planning to test on FRiday if AF doesn't get her 1st. Please all send lovely thoughts her way. Can't harm in the quest towards a BFP.

4ever it's really confusing about the asprin. I'm self-medicating but not entirely comfortable about it. I started after ovulation and plan to stop when I finish this pack (should be about 15 weeks) but would be really interested in your research.

MLS everything crossed for tomorrow. My pupils can do what they like about 2.30 cops I'll be mentally in the scan room with you.

Hi to everyone else. I'm a football widow again tonigh and so far they aren't losing!!

Joolsiam · 09/09/2009 19:46

Right, have just staggered into my hotel suite room(well it has a tiny sitting room) and collapsed onto the sofa and logged on for a catch up but there is nobody in !!

Am exhausted - bone weary to the core and will be in bed before 9pm I think. Boobs are aching and I had to stuff a couple of biscuits down my neck as I was feeling dizzy and nauseous

Just going to order room service, then have a warm relaxing bath (sunken bath )

Interesting about the aspirin - I will hold of until I get that BFP then

4everhopeful · 09/09/2009 15:57

to barbiebigpants Glad you're not wondering about wandering! No worries sweetie, I got through the other side - had a weeny weep when I dug out scan piccie, but glad I have it... Im staying true to my nametag!

Hmmm interesting what you say hoping... Had no causes found from my test but NHS consultant put me on progestorone supps & aspirin in last pg in jan, when I mc'd again I asked do i keep taking & he said no reason why not, as did my portland consultant, and my gp? Also with my horrid clotty AF they thought might help too, as mls, have had worried thoughts that implantation might not happen cos of giant clots! Might dig out my ltrs & do a spot of googling! Either way Im not taking it daily, im good with the folic acid as is pro natal multi vit too, but the aspirin must admit is a bit sporadic..

barbiebigpants · 09/09/2009 15:08

Im not missing...im here!!!!!

Sorry ive been awol...bloody computer decided to play games and not work for about 24 hours which is like forever to me

Right weeble, firstly im sooooo sorry i wasnt there in your hour of need, usually im always around, but sadly not this time i was so sad for you when i read your post...anyhoo's seems like you are over the worse and more upright today

I have spoken to gracie via fb and she is busy with friend sorting out funeral and other such matters she is fine in all other aspects and im sure she will return soon enough.

As for curly no idea where this bigpanter might be lurking...prehapes she is busy hiding all the baby purchases from dh??

jools you are so prepared for everything! even when i know im going somewhere for two weeks ill still forget pants or socks! Many a times i have had to pop to the local asda to get some pants until i make it to the local town...now my mum always buys a few pairs for me in case Loving the non symtom spotting!

mermaid you know me, blonde as can be...i have done the knicker thing...only once it was the doctors and i had to have a internal check, took knickers of and couldnt work out why i had two pairs on the chair when i went to put them back on....guess one was in my jeans!
Another time i was wearing a dress to work and walking through the streets i felt a ping, and one side of the pants snapped! try walking along a high street calmly when you know any minute they wil be around your ankles! Worst still try explaining to the boss who is a guy why you are late, having had to wait until la senza opened to buy a new pair!!!!

Whoops internet still dodgy so ill send this first and get back to the rest of you xxxx

hopingalways · 09/09/2009 14:55

ps on the baby aspirin front my specialist said do not take it until you get a BFP - it can make it harder for the little bean to implant! They trailed it on IVF patients and found lower success rates amongst those who took it before a BFP.

still got mine lined up for when that next BFP comes!

4everhopeful · 09/09/2009 14:49

[sp] wandering even...

....and yep, mermaid you're not alone, tho not sure if actually while walking on the street!!!
