Hi sabs, sending lots of labour vibes your way! Come on baby, stop worrying your Mum by getting bigger and just come out!

4ever sorry to hear about that stressful day. Flipping doctors and tests and hospitals, grr! Hope you can get hold of them v soon!

SabsBigPants · 24/09/2009 16:22

I'm still around...Just got back from my midwife appointment. She's slightly concerned about the size of baby and my bump is measuring at 41-42 weeks. Baby doesnt have a lot of space to move around now. Have to go back on Wednesday to have an appointment with a consultant to discuss induction options. It will be the first time I will meet a consultant as so far ive only had appointments with my midwife.

But midwife is hoping I go into labour before the appointment. She also said not to be a hero and go for any type of pain relief that I think will help me.

Also want to say thank you so much for your kind words about my sad anniversary yesterday, it meant so much. Will be back later on, I'm starving for some reason!

4everhopeful · 24/09/2009 16:13

AGH!!! work has been hell today - been pulled in a million directions & just wanna cry.. I just wanted to wrap up in cotton wool, just thought of how hard it was for Barbie in first few weeks at new salon, DITTO. All I wanna do is take it easy & slow, but no, training is exhausting, boss talked to me through lunch, so by time I got to eat meant I missed meeting with new senior boss that I needed to impress, caught her in corridor but still annoyed that my boss didnt realise what she was doing by chewing my ear off as I lay on her desk tellin her I was exhausted, then had to deal with DH idiot GP telling me they couldnt give blood screen results to me direct, after 30 min battle on pho they did, but then portland sec had gone home AGH! Just wanna cry, tried to explain this to boss with hope she would say go home, but she told me 'take 10 mins' upstairs!!!! Anyway, really thinking about getting signed off for next 3 months now, sod em, gotta look after me & so frustrated that all these outside sources are causing stress when I HAVE to be stress free... Sorry for rant... Will be back tomorrow... Welcome back to Jools btw xxxxxxxxx

cupcakefairy · 24/09/2009 13:37

Aw blue what a sad story; you're right we never do know. Glad you were able to share your experience with her. Think dh is getting a bit stressed he says he isn't but keeps complaining of aches and pains and has lost his appetite
On the plus side I just found a job that's perfect for him and it's near my parents..

Yes sabs has gone rather quiet indian remedies working their magic I hope!!

Lol, mermaid my Mum is a classic for forgetting presents too she frequently has to dash off during present-opening on Christmas day cos she's remembered a hidden one

Look at us all talking about Christmas

mermaidspurse · 24/09/2009 13:06

blue x posted - poor lady, its that hit that just comes out of nowhere sometimes and just floors you. It sounds like she had started off so bravely too.

mermaidspurse · 24/09/2009 12:59

It is such a lovely day could be middle of June
oh for a minute I thought ii had forgotten barbies scan. phew.

jools nice to see you back and glad you had a nice break and looking forwards Bless your mum with her hidden things, I am hoping they won't stay hidden for too long.

cupcake a massive gold star for being so upbeat at 6+1

lion oh my you poor impatient lady - come on jump higher

neeko my name is mermaid and i have bought most of my christmas presents. Of course by Christmas I will be doing the demented squirrel act and not find or remember them and start again

4ever afternoon teacher Can't remember if you have hospital stuff today tomorrow so a big wave, a gold star and take it very easy.

blue enough with the dusting. Time is ticking away for you now too. It is so nice to think of you having such a momentous Christmas coming up after the dark days of last yearxx

sabs are you still there? Think you may need to start jumping too

bluesatinsash · 24/09/2009 12:51

eek! Sorry barbie - least I got the day right . Blame it on pg brain...

Welcome back Jools, glad you were able to talk about things with your Mum and your DP was pleased to see you .

Hi cupcake - 8th Dec - nooo! Like the theory tho'. 6+2 you're getting there, one day at a time. How is your DH doing? Is there anything on the horizon?

Spoke to another Mum on way into playgroup earlier to pick up DS. I spoke to her last week as she was asking me when I was due etc. I then saw her crying with another Mum when I was leaving so asked her if she was OK today. She was basically due same time as me and me telling her my due date just brought it all up. She had a mc at 11 weeks back in June . We spoke for a wee while talking about it all and I told her how I was on my third attempt etc. You just don't know do you? We all appear normal and chatty but so many of us are harbouring heartache and loss...

cupcakefairy · 24/09/2009 11:45

Neeko I can't believe you with the shopping putting us all to shame! no, seriously- good for you! If DH doesn't find a job soon we'll have to use our secret dream holiday fund for Christmas this year
Thanks so much for the update on MLS so glad there is a teeny tiny light.

blue a good friend of mine was due 20th December (in 2007) she got all her shopping done and wrapped and decorations up and her ds arrived the next day- 8th Dec! So only get it all finished when you want LO to arrive as I'm sure they 'know' when you're ready

4ever how are you this morning lovely sunny lady??

Jools welcome back lovely so sorry about the breaking down but it really does help to talk to people so glad you have your parents

I'm 6+1 today and still no spotting (quiet ) red bleed was at 6+3 last time so I might be running to the loo a few times at this wedding on Sat

barbiebigpants · 24/09/2009 11:27

blue scan next thurs.....a whole week of non baby talk for my mum....

jools hello, you were missed..

Gotta go busy at work, be back soon

Joolsiam · 24/09/2009 11:17

Morning everyone

Just checking in quickly as I got home at 9pm last night and am "at work" this morning - from my dining room table with two cats fighting over my lap !

Had a lovely break, but it was far too short, and I felt quite panicky about coming back and slipping back into the state of mind I was before.

DP was quite pleased to see me and the timing is great, as I should ovulate on Monday and may well be away on business for 2 nights after that - will be a busy weekend

Now on a conference call and trying to multi-task !

MLS have been thinking of you a lot - when I went away for a while, I went through a stage like you of starting to miss people and writing posts in my head - I think it is a good step along the road to some sort of recovery / acceptance.

Pants / Commando - I don't think I could possibly ignore what CD I am on - I just can't stop myself noting the signs. Sometimes it is nice for people to see what CD you are on and ask for news / progress but sometimes it is too much pressure. So, I'd happily take off the CD tracking from our list if that helps ?

Lion - hope fidget starts behaving

Moon - understand where you are coming from - don't stay away too long

Sabs - what an anniversary I mc'd at the same stage on Nov 11th and am dreading that day - truly the anniversary of the worst day of my life, and my experience doesn't sound half as traumatic as yours ...

I started TTC half heartedly in June last year, expecting to be a mum before I was 40 - well I'm 40 in just over 6 weeks Did a lot of talking to my parents this week, especially after breaking down in front of a shop full of cute baby things and hearing mum confess that she had already bought a couple of things back in Nov last year and has now hidden them.

Right, I have to start listening to this conference call and contributing so will be back later - hello to everyone else - Blue, Barbie, Neeko, LBM, GG, Kate, Iggy, Mermaid ..

bluesatinsash · 24/09/2009 11:06

forgot to say Hope your scan goes a-ok today barbie and you and your Mum can spend the rest of the day pouring over all the new baby clothes she brought over.

Are you going to post a piccie?

bluesatinsash · 24/09/2009 09:47

Lion - put Boogie Beebies on CBeebies with Pete and shake your stuff, that's bound to get things moving .

Neeko - lovely to hear MLS is regaining some of her old strength. I'm going to email her on FB tonight, just with some thoughts but really just wanting her to know we're all here for her.

I won't be far behind you with the xmas shopping , need to be prepared this year in case lo comes early .

Changed days from last xmas when I could see it far enough as was so paranoid about losing pg then wandering round Stirling on 22nd Dec after MMC was confirmed trying to get something for DH. does not begin to describe it. What a difference a year makes...

Iggy - don't give up, you have been pg once, you will be again and have a lo to cuddle at the end of it .

Right, Thursday morning housework beckons again x

LionstarBigPants · 24/09/2009 09:33

Still here ladies, I think Annie might pop before me at this rate! My next antenatal appointment isn't booked until 8th October when it will be all about discussing induction . I can ring midwives before then to discuss having a sweep, but for some reason I'm reluctant. I just thought this time it would all go according to plan and labour would start naturally. I feel like any sort intervention will be some kind of failure - daft isn't it the things we build up in our minds. It's DPs birthday on Saturday so I'm sure it's just waiting until then .

Sabs sorry for not replying to you yesterday, but what a milestone to pass at this very hormonal and emotional time. Hopefully the imminent arrival will go some way to soothing some of those wounds. Fingers crossed for good news for you DH.

VJay sounds like some serious Gold Top you are serving up there!! Well done Alex.

Neeko - it's still September!! I couldn't believe it the other day in our mini Sainsbury's to see a display of mince pies and Xmas cake

Neeko · 23/09/2009 21:19

Evening all.
Just a quick post from me. Have been in contact with MLS today and she asked me to update. Her bleeding has begun (delayed by progesterone suppositories, I think )
We discussed Mn and support and she said "Last week I was thinking I'm not ever going to use my laptop again...Now I'm missing all the girls and the fantastic support. Been composing emails in my head that I'd love to have sent over the past few days...Please tell the girls I'm thinking of them."

I know she has a looong way to go, but at least she's on the first faltering steps. Her holiday finishes on Monday.

Iggy We'll never leave you behind. Fate just means we have to travel our journeys at different rates sometimes.

Welcome home Jools. Hope your DP missed you in all the right ways.

Big waves to everyone else.

I officially started my Xmas shopping today

cupcakefairy · 23/09/2009 19:35

Awww igs my lovely...it's almost a year since DH and I started ttc too. It's so weird, I remember the end of last year at work getting out our new wall calendar for 2009 and looking at September thinking 'ha, I'll have left here by then cos I'll be a Mum!' - oh the innocence! It's so strange how things just don't work out how we expect. Sorry we're not small-panters together anymore but you're never left behind; we're with you every step.

littlebellsmum · 23/09/2009 18:12

Moon take care - you know where we are when you need us

I think commando is a great place to be!

Sabs - lovely story, and look how quick liufe turned round! LO's and their blessings!

Neeko I think the suit should fit you unitll 16 weeks other wise it'll be too stretched for the medium panters!

Sorry no time for other messages - how the biggest panters are OK and the increasing group of medium panters. Not forgetting the small and commando girls - it drafty but fun!

mermaidspurse · 23/09/2009 17:42

omg I made a whole working day without coming on here once.

yes we need a comando section definately a good idea.

iggy getting that ilusive bfp is like waiting for Christmas when we were kids. It takes ages and suddenly its happens.it will
I am really holding firmly to the belief that when your body is ready it will get on with it all and I really mean it when i say I can't wait till you and moon and hoping and jools are all on here wearing those so becoming massive pants

sabs thank you for sharing those traditions. you are going to be so looked after young lady.
Please let us know how your dhs job interview went. i am so hoping you both have double good news very soon and at bloody clampers.

lion and fidget hope you are getting extra fidgety shortly.xx

iggypiggy · 23/09/2009 15:56

cupcake I vote for no day counting... I didn't know what day I was on till I came on here... Wish I didn't know - is better that way... I would like to be in a comando/ small pants with no CD next to it type list!

article sounds interesting

sabs lovely post you wrote - so pleased you have come so far in a year.

I have realised that it is a year since we started officially ttc... and a bit

feeling bit left behind again today

cupcakefairy · 23/09/2009 14:55

Afternoon lovely ladies and bumps and cyber-nephew

Firstly, mermaid I'm really sorry you fell off the list; it was probably my fault... I thought you didn't want the pressure. To be honest when I was taking a break from MN I was thinking of suggesting we don't even have a small pants list as I know how hard I found it ing left on it and counting the days...but then obviously we don't want people to feel forgotten. I like iggy's commando idea

Moon lovely girl, take all the time you need. We all absolutely understand and I honestly believe my 4 week break is what put me in the best frame of mind to conceive again- not obsessing etc. We'll miss you and as Barbie say please do check in with us.

4ever I keep getting twinges in my right ovary too hadn't thought about progestrone, just panicked worried about ectopic. If it carries on I'm gonna call my EPU. Why does everything have to be such a worry eh?? I think I would be about 19th May so not far apart! My BIL is getting married early July so eep to having a tiny LO there (I hope!!)

Neeko you can stay in that suit for now but don't go stretching the seams with your bump we'll all need it soon! hope you're ok today.

Gracie we miss you!

Vjay I love the Alex updates too and amazing that he has a routine already

Jools hope the holiday was lovely and relaxing and dp is very happy to see you

Sabs what a lovely post and wow, what a time of it you had you poor girl. So looking forward to hearing your good news.

I am writing an article on miscarriage for a young adults' website my old work runs...I'll email round the link to it when it's up

4everhopeful · 23/09/2009 14:16

Sabs a big squeezey hug for you on your anniversary, how amazing how its been turned around, but I know how hard it is thinking back to that pain & heartache, you will never forget your first lo... It was nice to hear about all the indian remedies, I hope they work soon (but not today & good luck to DH for his interview!) Just think next Eid your relatives will be lavishing gifts on your baby & then even more gifts a week later for his or her birthday! Bonus!
BTW Im a bit of a Monica too!

Neekointhechickensuit you stay all warm & toasty in there sweetie, but I shall need to prise it away for me in 2 monthes or so! xx

Vjaysupermilk wowsers you truly have a bonny baby there! Fab you have him in a routine, as said Im very Monica like so routine is essential! You can all hopefully remind me I said that in 9mn

Iggy glad you are feeling more relaxed about things, good attitude about the interview, at points I felt I was kidding myself when I said Im gonna chill & remove stress & not worry, im still flabbergasted it worked! I think a commando non day counting section is a great idea, losing count of days feels so much less desperate than tracking every move...

Tut tut naughty Lionbaby getting us all excited yesterday! Could still be happening tho!

Im struggling to concentrate, still training so not at desk most of day (hence lack of posts) its very tiring, I just wanna chill! I told manager & workmate who had 3mc & now 2 dd () both were emotional & lovely, lots of hugs! Told SIL too, dont see point in not, those nearest can help support, better they know than having to explain after if it went wrong again... but still PMA PMA! We WILL meet this LO! The treatment is on mon so have told manager I might need that whole week off she is v cool as knows history, I am already planning a 'bed in' & dont think I will leave my duvet all next week, apart from to lurk on MN via my sloooow dial up at home! xxxxxx Right this poor girl needs my expert assistance! xxxxxxxxxxx

bluesatinsash · 23/09/2009 13:58

What a lovely post Sabs and what a long way you've come since this time last year. These lo's of ours will be so very loved as we know what we had to go through to have them... Hope your DH's interview went well and your lo turns up on time on Saturday .

Vjay - gold top milk indeed .

Neeko - Hi! forgot to say that earlier .

Neeko · 23/09/2009 13:28

Oh and well done Vjay- certainly sounds like you're producing top quality stuff

Neeko · 23/09/2009 13:28

Sabs Here's my hand to hold today. anniversaries can be so hard, but look how far you've come. Won't be long now until you're watching your LO breathing (and lots of other less savoury things ) instead of waiting to hear the HB. In case I don't get the chance before, I wish you a speedy and straightforward labour. Try to enjoy those first few hours when you become a family, as they are truly magical

SabsBigPants · 23/09/2009 13:18

Hello ladies, I hope everyone is well....Im still so happy for 4ever and her news....my hand is here to hold should you ever need it in the next 8 months or so....

Love your updates about alex vjay, keep them coming in, as well as even more photo's please! Couldnt stop laughing at barnie either btw!

iggy i like the idea of a commando/pantless section

lionstar i had really strong braxton hicks last night, but i told lo to hold on for a day at least as DH has an interview today, he just went a little while ago. He's been off work for nearly a month now and this is only his second interview and he said he wouldnt have gone to the interview if I went into labour. I've also been quite constipated which doesnt help me in determining whats twinge and pain is real or whats not, I get so confused but I'm sure I'll know its the real thing when the real pain hits me!

Eid was also somewhat ruined by our car being towed away when DH went to buy flowers for my mum and MIL and having to pay £250 to get it released! Eid is like christmas in that you buy lots of pressies for the kids etc so quite an expensive time. I did get a couple of lovely texts from my mum this morning who said to keep faith and that a baby brings so much blessing into our homes and then when my sister was born, my mum had me and my other sister, my mum wasnt working and my dad was out of work. But after my sister was born, my dad found a job in Royal Mail and has been there ever since. My mum also found work soon after

neeko stay in that chicken suit for as long as you like

gracie missing you on here, but hope you're OK and great news about your scan

moon take all the time you need...hopefully you will still carry on lurking and maybe one day you can update us with your news

cupcake will try my best to have lo before the wedding as requested! However DH reckons lo will arrive on the actual due date which is this saturday as it will probably be like me and like everything to be on time and be extra efficient - one of his nicknames for me is monica

barbie hope your having fun with your mum and that ms has stayed away today....I STILL havent bought a pushchair yet is that bad? DH and I cant just come to an agreement. We have a wedding to go to at the end of October so will definately need to buy it by then!

mm i also never tire of hearing lo's heartbeat at every midwife appointment. Have my next one tomorrow

sabs waves to buddha annie mrskate LBM blue

Update from me - I bought raspberry leaf tea last week and have had it a couple of times. I dont normally like herbal or fruit teas but it doesnt taste that bad. I dont think curries will help me as i have been eating that 3 or 4 times a week for my whole life! I also dont know if pineapple will help as I share a whole pineapple with DH once a week. But the indian remedies I'm being made to eat include indian style chicken soup made of not much else apart from chicken, ghee and a few indian spices. The other Indian dish is just as yucky sounding which is made especially for pregnant women and women after they give birth and consists of a mix of dates, ginger, almonds and even more ghee. I know, doesnt sound that great, but I do make myself eat it. There is also an indian tradition where a woman, when she is pregnant, especially with her first, has to go to live back at her parents 2 months before the baby is born and stay there until the baby is 3 months! All these older relatives keep on ringing my mum demanding to know why I havent gone to stay over, lol! I will be staying at my mums after the baby is born but only for a few weeks, which is so helpful and will help with all the visitors. It is also to watch what I can and cannot eat because, again, according to tradition, all I'll be allowed to eat and drink is even more of that chicken soup and this special milk to help the breastmilk flow, but more about that when the time comes!

Apologies for the long post, but I hope you dont mind me sharing something very important to me. Today is exactly a year to the day when I started miscarrying. I was just over 11 weeks pregnant and I can honestly say that it was the worst thing to have ever happened to me personally. From ringing the hospital and being told very unhelpfully by the hospital staff that if I was miscarrying there was nothing anyone could do about it and to come to the hospital in the morning, to crying to NHS Direct, to going to A&E in the middle of the night, to being sent back home after being told that my cervix was closed, to waking up again at 6am to so much bleeding, to rushing back to A&E and having a scan to being told that there was no 11-week old lo there, to starting my medical management, to going to my mums and bleeding so heavily, to going back to hospital 2 days later to finish the treatment, to being told that i had to wait 3 months before ttc again. Those 3-4 months were such a low point for me, and I can honestly say that I would never had gotten through it without the help of all you lovely ladies. And after those dark times, the first month of being allowed to try again coincided with our trip to India and amazingly, we got pregnant again on our first attempt in DH's ancestral home. And now here we are, with just 3 days to go till my EDD. All I really want to say is never give up hope and there is light at the end of the tunnel

Apologies for the rambling
