lbm glad you had a good holiday, will leave you with your head in the sand

barbie look forward to a mass update tomorrow and hope you had tons of fun with your friends. Am trying to think of a name for the new thread but keeping 4ever in mind, maybe she has some ideas, think we need to keep the weeble in there.....

Hope all is well with everyone else, and boo to you too mermaid though a little late I know

mermaidspurse · 31/10/2009 21:47

BOO

ps hope you feel etter soon bakingqueen

bakingqueen · 31/10/2009 20:59

Sorry not been around been on nights now got tonsillitus so bed bound not had chance to catch up hope your all well lors of love

littlebellsmum · 31/10/2009 20:03

Ah, evening ladies! Happy Halowen Back from holiday - very cold, Valencia was much warmer! Ah well, the fire is on. Had a great holiday, lots of sleep and generally having fun with the kids, although if I might need to burn the Uno cards - my 4 yo is becoming a bit of a monster at it!

Great news cupcake

blue -an eventful week methinks! btw, I wouldn't worry about names yet, my ds was 3 weeks early and it took us everyone of those 21 days to come up with his name as we ahdn't got round to names before he was born. Stupidly, we have a J theme with names ( me and DH's names begin with J, DD was given a J name as we loved it and then we figured that DS needed one so that he wouldn't feel too left out!) LLO had a J name ready picked which my brother and SIL choose for my niece in March ( they did't and don't know). We will clearly be needing divine inspiration to come out with a J name should we need one this time!

Sorry to hear that there are some crappy weeks out there - will post more when I've caught up

BTW - 9 weeks goes really fast when you bury your head in the sand. Shame the queesyness doesn't let me forget. Think I'm 10 + 1 now. V scary as MC was at 10+5 last time - however all looks good so far, no spotting, feel crap. So, if you'll excuse me, LBM will bury her head back in the sand and I'll be back next week! I am not pregnant, I am not pregnant.....

BuddhaBellyBigPants · 31/10/2009 16:38

Blue Oh my how fantastic that your LO is going to be here so soon! Obviously the circumtances could be better, but they have yours and the LO's best interests at heart which is the main thing. I am so that you get yours quicker than me now!
Neeko Sorry you are feeling a bit Hair strokes and hugs coming your way x
Barbie Hope you are having a fab time with your friends
Vjay Gorgeous pics
4ever Still no sign of ante-natal classes but trying not to panic stress toom much I know how you feel panicking about SF and illnesses etc, I went into hiding at work when it all came out a while back, and sat behind a screen for about 10 weeks, and then my bloody DH goes and gets it! Typical!
Cupcake Again so pleased for you, how lovely of your mum and mil getting all excited too, believe me it doesn't stop either

barbie1 · 31/10/2009 16:07

[smie] im here, lurking for last few days due to visitors...will be back to normal tomorrow i promise...loving the happy thread at the moment

trying to think of names for new thread...any ideas?

Gotta go but big love to you all!

Happy halloween

bluesatinsash · 31/10/2009 10:57

Hi cupcake - so lovely to read your post - your releif is almost palpable . I expect to see a spike in mothercare profits between your Mum and me over the next few weeks .

Vjay - excuse my manners, meant to say yesterday how GORGEOUS Ajay is, wee smasher .

Neeko - hope you've got your DH all wrapped up in cuddles. My week was similar as DH was working his once a year 'back shift' and not getting home until 11.30pm which after this week's events was hard going but he's back now with some extra xmas pennies to boot. Sorry to hear your DD is going through some seperation anxiety. Do you think its because your DH was away? My DS goes very clingy/stroppy when DH is away and I think its just him missing him.

4ever - always lovely to read one of your long posts . hope your DH is on the mend. He needs his full strength to wait on you hand and foot .

Well I woke at 2am last night and could not get back to sleep so decided to clear out the nursery drawers and put DS's baby clothes in 0-3, 3-6 and 6-12 month order, sub-dividing them into neutral colours and blues so if lo is a girl all blue clothes will go in bag for SIL in case she has boy. Think my nesting instinct has spilled over rather .

Meant to say yesterday that I posted on the premature thread and the ladies were lovely and reassuring. I love MN for that, you don't know what the future will hold but there are people out there going through what you are and its so helpful to know you are not alone.

Also got my dates a bit wrong - everything going to plan lo will be here between 27th Nov and 6th Dec not week before.

Talking of which I've copied over list and changed my date back to one hospital gave me at 12-week scan - makes this pg a week further on which is good for my mental health.

Girls thanks soooo much for all your lovely kind words you're all so gorgeous.
Today was just, crazy really!
Felt sick walking back into that hospital; I thought I'd be absolutely fine but then the smell hit me & stomach lurched. Ick.
Thought I was gonna throw up beforehand but as soon as she put the scanner thing on my tummy we saw baby straight away and I sobbed! Dh was all "see! It's fine! It's fine!" Grabbing my hand so cute.
Can't believe how clear it was, little hands and feet. Keep looking at the pics!
Sonographer was sooo quick though, whole thing literally took about one minute she was like 'there's the hands, feet, head, heart ok bye' !
Just couldn't believe it though..I honestly couldn't believe it was real until that moment it was amazing.

As we were leaving ante-natal, me clutching scan pics and dh carrying massive pile of notes/books/files/bounty packs we saw someone from my old work! just walked past swiftly and said 'hi' but what a way for all my ex-colleagues to find out eh!

All the family v v v excited- we've been out with dh's family today and it's all they've talked about! MIL also gave me big bag of maternity wear! Bit ahead of themselves these Mums as I got a call from mine later on saying she'd bought booties and babygros crazy ladies. But it is first grandchild for them both so they can be forgiven!

Anyway, enough about that..
Neeko so sorry to hear the last few days have been hard I thought you'd been quiet too...glad dh is back v soon! Your poor dd

Blue wow! Can't believe it..you must feel the rug has been slightly swept from under you and being a true Monica, that can't be easy! Glad you'll be finishing up work early, get resting!

4ever thanks soooo much for all your lovely kind words over last few weeks, you've been fab. Hang in there lovely, just a couple of weeks and you'll be here must be amazing to see all the tiny changes in your bean every week

mermaid gosh yes Up made me cry 3 times! Beautiful film.

Vjay your pics are GORGEOUS! What a heartbreaking smile

Hi iggy thanks so much. Not long and it will be you my lovely. Keep believing that. (Sorry if I sound really patronising; I mean it genuinely..don't give up hope.)

Curly thanks for updating for me!

thanks so much to you all...dunno how I'd get through all this without you.
DH has an interview on Thurs within his office so v hopeful about that...positive thoughts appreciated!

Better go give my ante-natal thread the news and then it's off to bed; I'm shattered! xxx

VJay · 30/10/2009 20:46

Wow blue I can't believe you'll have your baby so soon, I can't help it but I'm really excited for you

mermaid so glad Ajay's smile has made your evening. I took him to the doc's today because he has a sore eye and he just beamed at her, he's so cute

Happy Halloween everyone and have a fab weekend, will probably be on at some point

Neeko · 30/10/2009 20:05

Hi all.
Yeah for cupcake. So pleased all is ok. Hope you're feling braver now and are considering how nice it'll be when you tell certain people - a daydream that you haven't allowed yourself til now.

Blue wowsers about the baby being delivered early. Bet you're both excited and bricking it Nice to know you'll be on your feet for Christmas. How you feeling about having to have a c-section?

Thanks Blue and 4ever for thinking of me. Been having a crappy week with DH being away, work being stressy and DD going through a knicker-wetting separation anxiety phase . Have spent quite a bit of the week in tears and, although I've been lurking, I didn't really feel up to posting. Just a shame we don't all live near one another so we could pop round for a cuppa.

Sorry not up for more individual posts. DH back in the middle of the night [thankgoodness emoticon] and I'm going to immerse myself in a hot lukewarm bath with a book. Take care all and Happy Hallowe'en. xx

4everhopeful · 30/10/2009 19:17

Wowsers Blue!!! That is very soon, but how exciting too! Sounds like a great consultant & it gives you some control back I guess so that must be reassuring for you sweetie! Between you & Annie for the next graduate then!!!

Talking of reassurance, I know I said it before but so so so happy for my fellow small panter Cupcake, what a great belated anniversary pres for DH eh?! Hopefully will ease you through your edd a little too.. I cant wait to see definitive hands! On mon we saw proper arms & legs, the week before they were just limb buds, its so amazing watching them grow so fast... Hope you're feet up & still beaming! xx

Yes, wheres our lovely Neeko at? Hope you are ok my darlin? Will be checking up on you over the weekend xx

Big wave to you Iggy sweetie! Hope you have a lovely weekend, so glad to see you on a happy vibe recently xx

Hows Jools doing too? I loved your stern instruction that you wont allow anything bad to happen on your birthday! I really pray that it all turns around for you straight after a wonderful weekend in cornwall & fab birthday, I was thinking about you recently, after all the months of seducing our DHs & ttc on demand, the feast turns to famine cos most of us arent allowed, or are to scared to go near each other once the deed is done! Maybe remind your DH to get it while he can!

Ahhhh Mermaidhardarsebutnotreally I really wanna see UP and Im cryin at everything at the moment! I dont believe you are a hard arse, you just have put up your self preserving exterior, but I like it when you open up & talk about you cos you're so bloody amazing and lovely at saying the right things to us all & being there, I know im not just speaking for myself when I say we really wanna be there for you too sometimes mrs!!! (even if it is only to wipe away tears from movies!) Big hug to my cornwall rock xxxxxxx

Sabs love love love hearing your traditions & what great catch up from you! so nice to hear all is going well, I bet you will be pleased to be home on sunday (btw great abot DH job!), give Saara a kiss from her cyber aunty xx

Barbie where are you at pretty lady? Are your friends gone yet? if so you're probably recouperating, cant remember who said, but half the good stuff about vistors is when they leave & you get your house & routine back again (so like Monica!) BTW whats going on with your heart check & palpatations & things? Hope you are taking it easy, tho hard with your slave driving new boss.. Oh yea & whats your thoughts on some form of weebletastic thread name?

So glad you girls understand my paranoia of needing to keep a ref to weebles to coninue as some sort of positive omen for me!!

Talking of health other than preg related how are you Mrskate and your BP monitering & stuff? are you still signed off after your drunken patient episode?

Buddha hows the pelvic pain? Any ante natal classes yet? Cant believe you are 33 wks already!

I was thinking of you & Mrskate last night as had a NIGHTMARE thinking DH might have swine flu - cue complete panic mode, how did you girls ever cope with the worry when your DHs had it? Did you take the relenza as precaution as well?

BTW - whos going for the vaccine?

Anyway, turns out DH just has heavy head cold, but i went to the sofa about 11ish & surfed net via pho for advice/symptoms & got in a right old panic imagining every worse scenario & that I couldnt live without him, & if something goes wrong with baby Id be on my own at scan & was awake til 4 when I was exhausted, anxious & sobbing & desperate to sleep so I put on a decorating mask & was gonna brave sleeping next to him, he phsl , & we swapped & I got into bed, but at 6 he was up dancing round to prove it was just a head thing & body not aching & went to work still! Id set my pho on reminder for cupcakes scan to tx her before at 9, then woke again at 11 so bloody shattered & very tad worried about lack of sleep & stress on baby, figure if it gets through this & is still ok on monday its def a little soldier!

Anyway off to bath & have some dinner & an early night, shall catch up over the weekend, love you all lots & once again to Cupcake!!!! xxxxx

mermaidspurse · 30/10/2009 17:06

forgot check out ajays smile made my evening that has.

mermaidspurse · 30/10/2009 17:03

blue gaspand so near! very exciting. At least you know and are in control (as much as we ever are)which is important. So good that you have a lovely consultant too, very important to have some eye candy at such times, reckon the nhs supplies them especially to help us through traumatic times.
So don't go nesting too much, take it easy with the cupboards if they are anything like mine you could dissapear and not be seen for several weeks

sabs I am so sorry I completley forgot to say hello to your mamoth post. Thank you for sharing your traditions, they must go back a long way, I always felt when I had ds that there was loads that I must have known 10000s of years ago if that makes sense?. Am loving the cotton wool what an excellent excuse for not doing night feeds. Give that gorgeous little girl a big cuddle.x

bluesatinsash · 30/10/2009 16:41

Fantastic news cupcake and you finally met cupcakebean - . You must be chuffed to bits and your Mum will be buying up Mothercare as we speak . My SIL scan went well too .

Mermaid - you hard arse? nooo, never!!! I heard 'Up' is a bit of a weepy...

Neeko - you OK? Not heard from you for a couple of days...

Wee update 'chez blue'. Had first weekly Friday scan and things still same, still OK but consultant (who I'm beginning to fall in love with a tiny bit ) has decided not to let me go past 37-38 weeks as they don't want me going into labour as it puts potential strain on baby's heart etc. So long story short, I'm finishing up on mat leave next Friday and will be continuing to have weekly scans until end of Nov with a view to getting c-section anytime between 20th Nov and 1st Dec.

I've decided to finish up early as every Friday scan could result in me being sent straight to delivery theatre and I don't want the stress of having unfinished work/outstanding meetings to worry about. I also need to finish my nesting and clear out a couple of cupboards .

So there we have it. Its all getting real and nearer and I can't wait to meet this lo albeit hopefully not for another few weeks .

Happy Hallowe'en everyone

iggypiggy · 30/10/2009 16:26

4ever hope you are ok this afternoon also nearly another weekend with lovely dh to look after you. Big gold star for getting through this week.x

We saw Up yesterday instead - it was lovely and I cried I never cry at films being a bit of a hard arse really but it had me in bits, a really ace film.

iggypiggy · 30/10/2009 11:25

cupcake just checking in for news - hope everything goes ok. xx

Big wave everyone else xx

CurlyBigPants · 30/10/2009 11:21

YAYYYYYY!!!!!! Message from cupcake - everything's fine and they got to see the little hands and feet moving around She says thanks for all the handholding xxx

Back later from a proper catchup

cupcakefairy · 29/10/2009 18:44

Hi girls thanks for all the hand-holding and good wishes for tomorrow, it's at 10.30 and lovely Curly has offered to post an update for me as she'll be at home..will try to text others too. Just can't believe that in a few hours I'll know if little titch has a chance or not..

Sabs so so lovely to hear from you and I LOVE all your traditions though it must frustrate you at times! Poor little Saara, hope she feels better to be shown off on Sunday, it's her duty!!

Lol, blue no we did not 'celebrate' last night- he was tired thankfully! though seriously, it's worrying how obsessed he is by my boobs right now (ha, he'd kill me if he saw me writing that!)
Well done for sorting out the practical stuff. Try to relaaaax now!

Oop, better go, dinner's ready. x

VJay · 29/10/2009 18:37

Hi buddha i got the flat old fashioned terries and I think the shaped ones would have been easier

I've uploaded another pic of Ajay and he's smiling, it's taken me 2 weeks to take it as as soon as I press the button on the camara he frowns

BuddhaBellyBigPants · 29/10/2009 16:03

Cupcake One more sleep althought it will probably be a very bad one if you are worrying as much as I did Lots of hair strokes for tomorrow x
Blue Oh my I couldn't believe your post after the scan! I bet you were crappying yourself to put it lightly!?! I am so glad that the consultant was sensible enough and it sounds as if your sensible practical mode has kicked in getting yourself and the family ready just in case. I will keep everything crossed that it's not too early. They are also running a sweep on me at work, sex and weight for mine just in case I have to have a c/section they decided not to date. It will be interesting to see if anyone gets ours spot on
Curly Hello pg twin! We definately seem to be suffering in the same way don't we? I keep telling myself it's because we're going to have perfect babies that sleep through from day one!
MrsKate Hope the pains have stopped now?
Mermaid Unfortunately they can't give me a strap on support thingy as it's too rigid when I'm sat down at work so not suitable apparently, so I have good old tubi-grip (warm and itchy) instead. Did ds love his halloween outfit? I can understand the horrible memories whilst having a smear, it's all too similar isn't it.
Vjay Hope Ajay's jabs go well on Monday. I have bought some re-usable nappies thought I'd use disposable for the first couple of weeks and then try the re-usable ones, hope they are more successful than yours, did you have flat or shaped ones?
Iggy Are you going to mark your EDD in anyway? Keep your chin up my lovely x
Neeko How have you coped on your own this week? Did you come out of the duvet at all Love the story of the lip balm
Barbie You use a liner to contain the poo, so no excuses perfect weather girl! [hhgrin] Can't believe your boss part time is 60 hours bloody hell what a witch!
4ever Hope you feel better after letting off some steam, I think you are handling things so well and I am so proud of you (in a non-patronising way of course [hhsmile]) and I would feel the same way about the thread name too, it's like a superstition thing isn't it? I refused to have a bounty pack off the m/w until I'd had our 12 week scan, it's all the little things that keep us sane(ish) that RL people just wouldn't get!
Jools Glad you sound a little brighter and lol at your cats stealing the food, they must have thought it was birthday and christmas rolled into one! Sort of thing our two monsters would do too.
Sabs Loving the pics on FB by the way. I don't suppose the worrying will stop and don't beat yourself up about it, it's happened or going to happen to all of us. The same with BF, you have done your best and S will still be a gorgeous little girl whether she is getting BF or FF. I have to say that there are some "different" traditions in your religion I love the cotton wool one Glad to hear your DH has a got a job, even if it's just temp it's a weight off your mind I'm sure.
MLS If you are lurking get off MN and get jiggy with it!
Hoping & Moon Hugs x

Right think this might be a bit of a big post so apologies but needed to catch up. Had my 33 wk scan today to see if placenta has moved but unfortunately it's not moved enough, so having another scan in 2 weeks time. As it stands at the moment I wouldn't be able to have a v/birth it would have to be c/section. Having a few days off work at the moment as the pelvic pain is getting progressively worse as the baby gets bigger, really struggling to walk and when I do I have that horrible limping duck waddle walk DH is fully recovered from his swine flu and back to normal self {messy, untidy} and constantly trying to get me to cave in and find out the flavour. I'm of the opinion now that it's just to close to find out now I'd rather have a surprise. But as the next scan will be a growth scan as well he really is hoping that he gets a peek!
Feeling a bit disorganised as I have no birth plan, no ante-natal class dates and not seeing a m/w until 36 weeks, but hey ho I'll just go with the flow!

SabsBigPants · 29/10/2009 13:34

Hello ladies, sorry I haven't posted for a while but thought I'd use today to give a bit of an update on how Saara and I are doing. I still haven't even gotten around to writing my birth announcement on here, better do that before it fades from my memory

Saara turned 4 weeks yesterday but for the past few days she's had a cold and cough Called my GP yesterday who said she shouldn't be ill like that at this age, so cue mad rush to the out-of-hours clinic at the local hospital. Was seen in the same room I was taken to when I had spotting whilst pregnant with Saara. Doctor checked her out and said she seems fine, but to take her in if she starts to breathe really heavily, her temperature shoots up or she doesn't feed as normal. These feelings of worrying about everything doesn't disappear, it starts from before conceiving, throughout pregnancy and will probably continue for the rest of my life I suppose. I know some members of my family think I'm over exaggerating about everything, but better to be safe than sorry. I am a first time mum after all

I'm still living at my mums but planning to go home this Sunday. We have a wedding in the family, and Indian wedding last a few days, but I haven't been able to go at all because of Saara not being well. I hope to go to one of the main events which is on Sunday, so I can show her off I've had a lot of help from my family, especially my mum and sister, who in the first couple of weeks were waking up in the middle of the night for her feeds. I haven't been able to breastfeed, despite numerous attempts, my midwife coming over and staying for over an hour (in her lunch break) and using an electric pump. I feel so guilty especially when Saara gets constipated as I know it because of the formula milk.

Indians have a lot of traditions about the six weeks after giving birth. All I am allowed to eat is chicken, chicken and yet more chicken. I'm not allowed any fizzy drinks or drinks from the fridge because apparently it will bloat my stomach; I'm not really allowed outdoors (which is kind of driving me mad!) and I should be wearing socks, a cardigan and cotton wool in my ears at all times! I have point blank refused the cotton wool, but apparently its to stop air going into my body as it is in such a vulnerable state I could go on about these old wives tales and traditions forever but you might think my whole community are quite mad

Thanks to those who were asking about DH's job situation. The day before my contractions started, he had an interview for a temporary role. They wanted him to start the very next day but obviously couldn't! He also couldn't start the day after, but as my long labour was still going on, he couldn't go in then either. Luckily they liked him enough to hold the role for him and he started the day after Saara was born. Its only temporary until the end of the year, but its something. Its also close to home and the hours are good so he can be home by 5pm and spend time with Saara which will help lots when I'm home alone from next week.

Need to be off again. Like vjay I had a million things I wanted to write about but I can't think right now. The sleepless nights are catching up on me methinks.

Again apologies for not posting personal messages, but I do lurk on here on a daily basis and think about you ladies.

Good luck to cupcake on scan tomorrow, hoping I got your email too, hope things are ok,

Hope my cyber nephews are doing ok

Love and hugs to all whatever size pants youre wearing (or not wearing Which reminds me, I need to change my name on here!

mermaidspurse · 29/10/2009 10:42

vjay I have a small sugar pumpkin for cooking cos its tiny and just looking at it makes me panic, maybe a whole shed load of spicy stuff.
Yep sod the nappies till the sun comes back then it is very satisfying watching them bleach all nice and white in the sunshine.
