popsy you could go for a private scan but think its an internal before 7weeks, when i went for my early scan i was advised i may need one. Luckily i was 7+4 so we saw a kidney bean with a heartbeat. Try not to stress. Easy for me to say lol. To be honest we are quite lucky to get early scans with ur 2nd you could up to 16wks before you even book in.

becky there is so much going about just now, hope your feeling better

Hows everyone elsd today?

fairy we watch them all too so your not sad hun

popsy1 · 25/01/2010 19:40

We recorded Rock chips as we watched dancing on ice. Looking forward to watching it.
Hows things at work Fairy and Clure any easier?
Thanks for the congrats carebear, still in a bit of shock. I'm not sure if the reflexology worked re getting a BFP. But it definately helped relax me I was so. stressed and having panicky feelings that i decided i had to try something or go crazy!, so i booked myself a massage. She asked why i wanted a massage and i told her a 'brief' reason. She recommended reflexology. I have had 3/4 since. I used to get stress headaches and shoulder n neck pain from the stress, i don't get any of that anymoreDefinately worth a try hun!! Even if it gives you some you time .
Stac according to my last period i'm just over 5wks:, keep wondering if its a faulty test! I called the hospital today and i have to wait 3 weeks til i can have my early pg scan. Not sure i can wait that long. I need to know its real!Besides i think i'm gunna burst not being able to tell anyone

Hows everyone else?
How did the hospital appointment go?

Its freezing here, so back to hot chocolate baby dust

That'd be sooooo great to see a series. I said to DH That it so should have been a series. I grew up not far from Peckham so it's good to watch. My fave episode is Jolly Boys Outing as I think I've gone to Margate (or Margit as it's actually pronounced in my part of the country lol) nearly every year of my life!!!! Not as good as it used to be & the pleasure park closed down years ago. Plus a bit of Chas n dave singing the theme tune at the end is always good!
I watch Green Green Grass too with Marlene & Boycie.

OMG! How sad am I????

stac14 · 25/01/2010 19:09

fairy I watched rock and chips, we love only fools and horses so it was great to see how it would have began, there is talk about making a series from it think that would be good. Oh whats the wrist slapping for? Keep the positive thoughts hun xxx

OP posts:
Fairygodmother1 · 25/01/2010 18:33

Stac back to normal today other than getting wrists slapped. But thats a whole other story...
BDed last night so cancelled nurse today.
did anyone see Rock & Chips last night? I thought it was really good.

Deb how did you get on at cons app?

Carebear feeling a bit neg this month that it wont happen. I've gotta try to be positive but feel let down every month. Especially seen as post Ov symptoms are very similar to pg symptoms!!!!!! I feel like throwing the whole thing in but I'm far too stubborn, determined & strong willed to give up!

How was everyone elses day?

Debice

Re this part of your most recent comment:-

"along with being an oldie I also have endo so the clomid is there to give my ov a push. I have just had 1 month off"

They need to treat the endo cos its not going to go away of its own accord. Have you had surgery previously for endo?.

Does this gyane also have a specialist interest in endo, some of them are far better than others when it comes to treatment and management of this disease (I have endo too and you have my sympathies).

Cannot think why they areg giving you clomid - I'd give them a hard time about this as its of no real benefit unless there are ovulation problems. Its only main job is to make the ovaries work harder.

I hope your appt went well today.

CareBear1 · 25/01/2010 12:31

Hi all

Popsy congratulations, brilliant news - that's given me a bit of hope that this will happen. Fairy, thanks for the link it was good to check. I'm due to ov in next couple of days. Feel absolutely no different so far with the clomid (first month with it) feeling like its not doing anything. fingers crossed.

Popsy how often did you do the reflexology, do you think it really made a difference?

hi to everyone else. sending positive vibes.

stac14 · 25/01/2010 09:28

morning ladies and happy burns day how are we all today? Haven't caught up with all the thread but hi to evryone

popsy we thought i was further on than i was due to the pcos, my dates reckoned 9wks but scan said 7+4wks. So we told close family and friends, made everyone keep quiet till 12wk scan then i put the pic on my facebook, so the cats out of the bag now lol. Like you i was very nervous about telling the kids but sil told stepson so i had to tell ds, was quite annoyed at the time. I'm so happy for you. Loved the look on dp's face when i told him, don't think you believe it at first do you?

clure time doesnt half fly in, stepson goes to high school this year which is scary probs as he seems so young. Think i felt moredown bout ds turning ten than i did bout turning 30 lol

ladybird have been through loads with the ladies it felt only right to go through the good part together too. It is ridiculous how long you have to wait to reffered to a fertility specialist. I'm sure you will get bfp soon.

fairy hows things with you?

Hi ven, kiwi, debs, milly, pink and jo how are you all? Wow role is getting longer xxx

Fairy I have scans almost every month hun. I ov on my own too.........along with being an oldie I also have endo so the clomid is there to give my ov a push. I have just had 1 month off (Dec) has I felt like I was going crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy I wish I hadnt though cause im having the worst P in a long time. Anyway ill see what the con says tomorrow so untill then take care All

Fairygodmother1 · 24/01/2010 20:31

Deb
Well they do scans to find out when you are ovulating (possibly blood tests too) they use IUI to put DH's half of the deal straight into the tube so it doesn't have to swim too far to catch the egg.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but thats the jist of it!

xxx

Ladybird10 · 24/01/2010 20:30

Clure im on the lowest dose of clomid 50mg, i had scans on the first month and i had 2 follicles, i also had a blood test which showed i had ovulated and it was 103 which apparently was very good as it should be over 30, so the nurse told me i wouldnt need to come back for anymore scans as the clomid was working but the pains i get around ovulation are horrible, i keep thinking maybe its the cyst, my partner has told me not to take it this month as he doesnt want to see me in so much pain and also doesnt see the point in me taking it if i already ovulate without clomid, so im having a month off, on cd4 but will see what the cons suggests next, i also told the doctor i had been trying a couple of months longer just so she would refer me quicker.

Hopefully this month will be pain free if im having a month off.
I think our next step will be iui, just hope we wont have to pay for it.

Fairy What is pinpointing Ov hun? To be honest ive not done any googling....it was driving me mad reading it all and thought it would take less stress off if I stopped for a bit. Now you have said and woke my blooming brain up ill give it a google Thank you.

Fairygodmother1 · 24/01/2010 20:17

Sorry my typing is cr*p tonight!!!

Debicemmy2 · 24/01/2010 20:12

Ladybird around ovulation I too am in so much pain, it really hurts to walk and stand up right so its not dramatic at all. Never thought you could go through so much pain, ups and downs. I am having a really bad month this one.....crying all the time even when I talk to someone I dont really know....god help anyone who asked me if I am ok lol

Clure I sure will let you know hun. Its so nice to know im not the only old biddy on here hehehehehe What CD are you on hun? I am on CD5 and still spotting, which is very unlike me.
God us ladies are being put through the mill arent we!!!!! males really dont know how lucky they are do they

Take care All

Fairygodmother1 · 24/01/2010 20:07

Clure I love Charlie & lola - been banned from calling our children either of those names! I'm also in love with Finn from Glee but Finn doesn't go with our Surname (think about it!) lol.

ladybird I think maybe your does is too high. Clomid makes your ovaries work harder & maybe yours are woeking too hard & swelling too big with follicles. You need to get BDing (although didn't work for us last month!!!!!)

Debicemmy have you done a bit of googling for what you think you might like to do next? Maybe pinpointing Ov & using IUI?

Debicemmy - hi nice to hear from you, I'm in similar boat to you in that I'm 42. Its not helpful is it for them to keep going on about our age is it? Its not like we're not aware of that ticking. Anyway good luck tomorrow, let us know how you get on xxx

Debicemmy2 · 24/01/2010 19:45

That is wounderful news pops so nice to hear another one bites the dust* lol Wishing you and your family lots of luck and happiness hun.
Hope everyone else is well and keeping a smile on your faces(hard I know sometimes) and thinking good thoughts.
Fairy Thanks for the mention and hope you too have lots of luck.
Going to see my con in the morning and really dont have a clue what I should say......still worried that he will say that there is nothing more he can do for me.............last time a talked with him he banged on about my age (im 41, a young 41 mind
Take care eveyone

Clure · 24/01/2010 19:45

evening all,

ladybbbird - I told my GP that we'd been trying longer than we had (good job I did as there actually was a hormonal issue) Have you been offered scans? Just thinking about your comment about ovary pains, what dosage of clomid are you on? sorry 20 million questions

Fairy - you go girl! Not really looking forward to this week, but hey ho, children come first.

hi kiwi - how are you? Whats happening with you?

hi ven, beckylou, we have recovered from party and made today special for her as its a school day tomorrow when its her actual birthday.

popsy, stac - you also have older DC's, doesn't time fly? Doesn't seem like 5 years ago I was being wheeled into theatre for DD to be "hoovered" out (sorry i meant ventouse ) just realised its "Burns Night" pops I rememeber DH face when I told him I was pg last time - face a picture, just like you say your DH was. Would love you to stick around and keep us updated on your progress

Did another run today, my back is fine whilst running, its really stiff otherwise, may have to visit the chiropractor if it continues - he's an icelandic chap who is very good at chopping, does an amazing job. Its been a bugger of a week really. Well I'm now off to watch a film with DH, he was going out to watch Lee Mack but the gig was cancelled as there was a power failure at the theatre- we get to cosy up on the sofa instead. Hope you all have good week ahead

Ladybird10 · 24/01/2010 19:38

Fairy we have been trying for 17 months, we were referred to the fertility clinic just after a year of trying, they cannot find any problems with the both of us, ive had a lap and dye and and eveything fine, the only thing i do have is a cyst on my ovary that comes and goes. They put me on clomid even though i do ovulate but ive read that clomid is pointless if you already ovulate so not sure what to think, i think maybe we're not BDing enough. We manage about twice a week, sorry tmi.

I completely agree that the people who conceive easily are less knowledgable, my friend is 4 months pregnant and she didnt even know when she was ovulating and has no idea whats going on with her body. If only we could all be like that, i think i know just about everything thats going on with my body.

Fairygodmother1 · 24/01/2010 19:10

Thanks Beck it helps confirm that it's kinda accurate. See I've been waiting till EWCM but apparently the zone starts when CM goes watery.
Had a feel before I got in the bath & cervix seemed high up & thats an indication too. I seem more clued up this month.

I've put on sexy little pjs to entice DH after al thats happened this weekend. If it happens then I'll cancel app in the morning & if it doesn't then I'll go for app.

Ladybird sorry to be nosy but how long you been trying? I've only been helped out in the last 7 months so 6 months before that was getting cons app & tests, then previous to that was the year of trying before you can admit you need help! So really I suppose I can say it's been 6 months of actually trying.

I think everyone will agree that we've learnt so much along the way & so much we can tell others. I was talking to a friend of mine who didn't realise you can have AF & not ov! I think that people who find it easy to conceive are less knowledgable to what actually happens to your body. Another friend who is about 6 months preg has no idea what is going on in her body. So sweet to be naive I suppose.

Maybe this is my career change? lol

Clure wonder how work will be this week???

We WILL get preg baby dust

beckylou85 · 24/01/2010 18:54

hey all, Fairy i've just gone on the link you put on. It was pretty similar to the dates I had in mind for ovulation but thanks anyway, always good to double check
Congratulations popsy Fantastic news I'm so happy for you!
Good luck to all ttc xxx

Ladybird10 · 24/01/2010 18:44

I'm sure i will still be trying after the 2 year mark fairy, i try to keep positive though. I was reading that abroad they dont test couples until they have been trying for 2 years, i suppose we are lucky that we're tested after one year.
I just keep telling myself that we're all different and some ladies are just more fertile than others

I'm really not getting on with the clomid, around ovulation i am in so much pain, so much that it hurts to walk, i know that sounds a bit dramatic but dont understand why it hurts so much, plus i have ovary pain for almost all of the month, im really hoping my cons suggests trying something else when we go back in Feb.

Good luck to everyone xx

Fairygodmother1 · 24/01/2010 18:21

Pops I don't need them done till all tests have been done to send to IVF people.

Ladybird I think most of us on here are rounding the 2 years mark - I've past it by 2 months now!!!

popsy1 · 24/01/2010 18:14

Thanks ladybird. We are thrilled, still in shock though.
Fairy i used that website. Definately your turn hun. You must be a good luck charm
When do you need the swabs done by fairy?
