Hi littlemiss,

I've done 2 courses of clomid so far (specialist gave me 6 months). I've done 2 lots of day 21 bloods but haven't heard anything from hosp (other than change of date). I think I'll try GP this week for an appointment to see if they know the results.

I only had side effects the first month - nausea, dizzy feelings, migrane, bleeding & very tired.

2nd month was ok (although I did feel dizzy the other day).

Got that your specialist seems so positive - mine seems to have left me alone to get on with it without any support.

How's everyone else's weekend going? I got an early b'day present from my mum, a wii so that I can try getting fit & lose some weight that the specialist asked me to!

Oh right I see, the specialist said that was what the CD21 blood test is for, to see if I have ovulated and then if I have i stick with the dose if not I go back and get a higher dose until its right. Ive been given 4 months worth but she said she doesnt think I will need that many as my problems are ones she think will be resolved by Clomid, and I really hope she is right!!

We have been trying for 2 years also and like you I have zero patience, it doesnt help that I fell pg with my DS after 4 weeks of being together and not even trying and so naievely thought it would happen as quick again, I now realise how lucky I was!

So are you taking Clomid now still? How long have you been using it? Do you have any side effects? (sorry for all the Qs)

All I know (mainly from reading Jools Oliver's books & on here) is they scan at day 12 to see if you are likely to produce an egg. Clur & I haven't been offered it so maybe it depoends on ur specialist.

We've been trying for our first for nearly 2 years & was only given Clomid a few months ago. We're hoping that it'll happen for us real soon! I've not got the best patience at the best of times.

Fingers cross for this month!

Ive not been told about any scanning? What does that involve?

Im just hoping it works now! After 2 years of being told, you've done it once it will happen again and being sent away, Im so glad to finally have got to see someone and Im pinning all my hopes on Clomid now so hope Im not building myself up for an even bigger fall!

Hope veryone else is doing ok x

Fairygodmother1 · 19/09/2009 18:37

Yep it does sound right Littlemiss. Sounds exactly what I've been told. Are they scanning you at any point because I haven't had any to check but apparenly some people are. I've a feeling it depends on where you are living.

Good Luck!!!!!!

Will bve starting the Clomid tomorrow for 5 days and have benn told to BD between CD9 - CD19 and defo do it on CD14 but not everyday but 3 times a week...phew alot to remember lol.

Does this sound right for what everyone as been doing, and any tips or advice would be much appreciated.
Also having a blood test on Monday to find out what is happening with my hormones and what is making my periods irregualr, then having blood test on CD21 to check Ive ovulated and the clomid dose is right!

Fairygodmother1 · 18/09/2009 19:33

Hi Clur,
Hope you're feeling ok. I'm ok - had a dizzy spell earlier but ok, think its a side effect to the blood test - I'm not good with them lol.

Reflexology sounds lovely - will try that once dh brings in money again!

Best wishes all & have a great weekend

Clure · 18/09/2009 13:11

hi Fairygodmother1 hope u ok today. I have my next appointment in January. they are SO bad, I had my recent appointment changes 3 times! Fingers crossed that your results are good.

hi everyone else!

I had refexology on Wednesday, it was really good, I felt really relaxed after it then zonked out and had to go to bed early. Woke up with a headache and today I have swollen glands and achey limbs. hoping its just a reaction to reflexology and not swine flu! My freind who did the reflexology recommended a course of 4 treatments, we're going to aim for me to get a period naturally and try to boost my wonky hormones

my DD has settled well into school, its just really weird not having her here on my days off school - will take some getting used to

Have a great weekend......loads of babydust x

Fairygodmother1 · 17/09/2009 22:53

Quick hello before going to bed

Had day 21 progesterone blood test today - an hour up at the hosp waiting!!!!

Had a weird feeling I wanted to break down & cry when I left...could be that I went on my own in my lunch break as dh had a job interview. Someone normally comes cos I aint great at blood & needles!!!

Gonna try & get hold of the results next week.

Also a bit annoyed at hosp as consultant has changed my appointment for the 4th time & back to Jan!!!!!! Really gonna start putting my foot down cos they are seriously messing with my health!!!

Rant over!

Night everyone

baby dust to you all...especially those with bfn this month!

stac14 · 16/09/2009 21:55

Hiya girls

Not been on for a while as been a bit busy . We managed CD11,12,14,16 and 17 so pretty good for us as after 27 months of TTC the fun goes a little. On 2ww now and this was the last month of clomid so fingers and toes are crossed. My next app is 27th Oct to go through next step which will prob be IUI.

Peju - Hoping AF or BFP comes soon for you

Kiwikat - Im with you on the DH thing its hard to get psyched up sometimes.

Clure - sorry about your news. Hopefully you and DH will make some decisions and your next cons app may be more positive. Stranger things have happened though and fingers crossed for next 3 months x

Fairy - 2ww so I have everything crossed for you

Paddington - I go to my local college for reflex ( havent been since Jul as they close for summer though ) They are fully trained but just not passed yet. They need feet to practice on and it only costs me £8 for an hour compared to triple that from therapists.

stac - I havent tried hypno but anything that relaxes you has gotta be a good thing go for it. Sorry about your BFN x

Welcome to BPJSY and mischief ((wave))

Im really hoping for some good news as we are all down in the dumps by the sounds of it. I totally agree there are loads of bumps at the mo and I do fill up each time I see one. Luckily no one in our family are at the mo so bit easier.
I had a dream that I had twin boys a few weeks back and my friend had the same dream without me telling her about my dream. Well freaked us out but would be perfect. We both have twins in our family and my great great nan had 3 sets of twins

Good luck to all xxx

BPJSY · 16/09/2009 00:42

Hey guys,

ive been reading all the posts and there is good and bad comments about clomid.

I became pregnant last september but had a misscarriage in december. Had seen a scan with the heartbeat which made things a lot harder when we lost our baby.

Ive now been prescribed clomid and im due to start tomorrow. This is the first time ive taken this, and ive got everything crossed that it will work.

Good luck to everyone. x

KiwiKat · 15/09/2009 22:40

how's everyone doing? cd14, been bd every day for the last four days, would be sooooooo nice if we had something to show for it ... Remember when sex was FUN?

Littlemissmischief · 15/09/2009 21:15

Sorry that last message was from me but under the wrong name

sunnyflowers · 15/09/2009 21:13

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Sorry some of you are having bad news at the moment, you will have to excuse me I dont know alot of the things you are talking about on this thread as although we have been trying for a while we are only just recieving help from the docs.

Not sure when I'm starting the Clomid as it depends when my period decides to show up (obviously I'm hoping it doesnt and Im all ready pg) But Ive been told to take it CD2 for 5 days and then it will also make me regular and then on CD21 I will have a blood test to see if I ovulated. If I have then I stick with it, but if not they will make my dose higher. Does that sound like the norm for most people?

It will be nice to have a regular cycle because I know the 2 week wait is bad enough but because my periods are so irregular I can have months waiting and symptom spotting.

My other concern, (which I forgot to mention to the doc) was that it took 6 weeks to get a BFP for my son, is this likely to be the case when I get pg again?

Thanks x

Fairygodmother1 · 15/09/2009 19:29

CD18 here - feels like it's slowly creeping towards a date I can test (although like Paddington & Stac I don't feel positive!)I know it's early days...

Hi all,
paddington - before starting clomid I tried acupuncture which was relaxing & helped to start regulating p but it got a bit expensive. I'd like to try reflexology.
Yeah it put me on a high too!

Stay positive!!!
