hi paddington, hope you're doing ok, can I ask what is your doc giving you to sort out hormone imbalance? Sorry, am curious! I'm also having reflexology, I managed a period without provera this cycle so thinking maybe the reflexology is doing a bit of good!

Clure · 14/10/2009 20:10

thanks mummycat. Sending you lots of ivf babydust x

mummycat1 · 14/10/2009 10:59

Good luck Clure - glad you are getting monitoring this time. It must be very frustrating to have been left in the dark thus far. It's so important to be monitored properly xx

Clure · 13/10/2009 22:20

mummycat - also haven;t been offered any monitoring, though have for this round of clomid, so wasn;t even totally sure I was oving x

Clure · 13/10/2009 22:19

hi mummycat, consultant said my FSH levels are very high, shows low egg reserve and possible premature meno. He just said it "may" happen with clomid but best chances are with donor eggs, I'm 42. I've not really had chance to discuss further tests to investigate using my own eggs. We are just still letting it all sink in!

mummycat1 · 13/10/2009 21:15

Sorry to ask, but why would you need DE Clure? If they are letting you do Clo then surely that means you are still oving?

Clure · 12/10/2009 22:39

hello mummycat, good to hear from you again. I agree its a hell of a decision to go for ivf, i wish you all the very best of luck. We haven't made the decision yet as my consultant feels that our best chances are with donor eggs and its this particular factor which is giving dh and myself the "oh my god" feelings. Good that you are also looking at all the positives about ivf mummycat We also would have to pay for the ivf also - another huge undertaking. I've just taken my first tablet on cycle 4 - here we go again!! Do keep us posted on your ivf journey

hello to the rest of you, now off to bed
wishing you all babydust xxxxxxx

Hello Clure and Stac and anyone else who remembers me.

Just had a little read through the post and noticed that Clure is thinking about IVF. I had 7 rounds of Clomid this time with no result - even though I was told that I responded excellently everytime [frustrated smiley]Could have kept at it with the clo, but the stress and negative side effects were killing me tbh.

Am now on the IVF trip for the first time.It is a really personal decision to go for IVF, but I take a kind of, "you only live once" attitude to it. Have been injecting daily for just over a week, and it is not bad at all - though tummy is rather purple/green in places! No real side effects so far.

I know that it sounds scary, but I think that the biggest deal about IVF is probably the money. It also all feels so unreal. I feel somewhat detached from the end result right now.

The big positive is no more BD on demand or symptom spotting for ov - all that is out of your hands! So if you are ok with pride going out the window, cross the rooftops etc - that goes out the window on day 1 - dildo cam whilst on AF - nice - then go for it!

is is possible to take too much Robitussin? I seem to have got through a whole bottle in 3 days!

Fairygodmother1 · 11/10/2009 19:29

Hi all,

On cd 19 here! I wanna be positive that we've hit the mark this month but have a sinking feeling! Although we did Bd on CD 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, & 18 (not sure what happened to 16 - think I fell asleep before we got to that lol)!!!!

Wish there was some way of knowing the exct moment!!!!!

Oh well maybe we'll be seeing clomid cycle 4!

Had a bad headache today but that could be aall the stress thats goingon here (another reason why I'm prob not preg!)

Well good luck everyone

Clure · 11/10/2009 14:48

hi all
AF just arrived (2 months since my last!) but at least it came naturally without having to resort to provera. So I step back onto the clomid roundabout and hope for the best....hope is fading fast!!

Littlemissmischief · 09/10/2009 10:35

Stac - I am trying not to obsess and i tell everyone else not too, sometimes its hard to take your own advice isnt it? have a lovely holiday x

Peju - Im loving your attitude, can you come give me a slap please and then some tips on how you are being so good about it all

Kiwi - Got everything crossed for the pressed route, Ive also heard good things

Paddington - rant all you want hun, we are all in the same boat with not having many people to talk to and those who we have probably dont know the ins and outs of it llike we do lol. Good luck x

Ive just had my CD21 bloods done so I am praying for a big number next week, cant stand all the waiting though!! I feel like im on a rollercoaster at the moment, one day i'm up and postive and the next im feeling down about it all.... its so exhausting!

Hows everyone else? x

paddington21 · 09/10/2009 09:59

sorry its all one lump on phone have not worked out how you sort that yet x

paddington21 · 09/10/2009 09:57

hey all good news kiwikat i have preseed fingers crossed am also on a clomid free cycle. My cysts are going down and have good stash of follicles im moving to injections in 6 to 8 wks time anyone done this? Its a good job im epi pen trained least wont be too frightened when it comes to injecting myself. Moving to big hospital too new cons but my current one said and i quote- she is the chinese version of me. Am seeing natural doc next wk pinning hopes on that tbh! How you doin stac? Have lovely holiday. Hope everyone is ok fingers crossed peju. Sorry for big rant have noone to rant too x x x

KiwiKat · 09/10/2009 00:01

Stac - I'm going without clomid this round, but have just ordered some preseed, as I've heard that's had some good results. One of the posters on the 40+ thread had a bfp today (yahoo!) so I'm going to give that a go. I don't have the time to put ivf on hold, due to my very advanced years, so if this cycle doesn't happen, then that's what we're doing.

Peju - great attitude, like it. The only way is UP!

peju25 · 08/10/2009 18:45

Hi all - hope everyone ok ive not been on for a while so thought id pop in to say hi!

well im now on cd 99!! longest ever by miles but think i will be getting the old witch soon as my bbs been hurting a lot this last week and i mean a lot!!! think its going to be the af from hell but at least i can get back to trying again!! actually feeling quite positive even though have had a ton of BFN's!! well i couldnt help myself you never know there was always a tiny chance i could have ov'd somewhere in that time - seen it has happened to a very few people!

Anyway dp had his swimmers checked end of last week and he now needs to go check his results - when he can find time to get to docs - got my fingers crossed its all fine even if that does mean its all with me at least there are things to try..

feeling very optimistic that i WILL be a mum one day got to think positive! If all else fails there are a lot of children out there that need the love we could give and would love the chance to call us parents....this is my new outlook for the future. obviously would love to get pg but our main wish is to have a child..

Babydust to you all! x x

stac14 · 08/10/2009 10:12

Hey ladies
How are you all? Nothing much happening my end, just thought I would pop on and say hi. I think I might be oving at the mo, kind of tender so keeping my fingers crossed. We are still trying to get organised for going away on Monday (its mid term here) I have a mountain of washing and we are still trying to strip the house to get it decorated lol

mismischief I know its hard hun but by thinking about it all the time your putting pressure on your body, I do the same stuff (pot, kettle and black springs to mind lol) Hope you get good results on Monday chick

kiwikat Are you getting clomid for this month? Did they offer you anything inbetween clomid and ivf? I was thinking that if I am not pg by my next cons appointment I may ask about IUI - cheaper than IVF also less successful but I dont really fancy goign down the IVF route either.

Hows everyone else? xxxxx

Littlemissmischief · 07/10/2009 23:23

Hi Ladies, hope your all ok.

Getting myself all worked up again with the symptom spotting and worrying, really need to chill out but finding it really hard. Ive had REALLY sore, itchy and tingly boobs and know that this could just be the Clomid but am actually thinking of the possibility of being pregnant, cant stop thinking about it!! Having my CD21 bloods on Friday so will hopefully get the result on Monday but feels like a lifetime (silly I know) just praying Ive ovulated.

Sorry for moaning, dont have anyone else to talk to it all about.

Babydust

KiwiKat · 07/10/2009 23:13

Evening all. Haven't been on for a little while - Stac, Clure, hope you and all the lovely ladies are well, and hello to the newbies.

We're giving it one last whirl before we move on to ivf in December. DH is reluctant to do ivf, but time is against us, so best get on with it, I guess.

Buttercup80 · 07/10/2009 03:02

Hello everyone, I've been away for a while hence no post.
AF arrived last month 15 days after finishing the clomid, so quite a short cycle I think?
On the second round of clomid now but started it quite late in my cycle so not sure when I'm supposed to be ovulating.

I also went to see an acupuncturist a few days ago and came out feeling much more positive about things. Took a while for me to get any feeling from the needles but then got a really warm tingling around my ovaries.
I've also got some chinese herbal medicine to take (tastes horrible!) and am supposed to be keeping my abdomen warm and covered at all times.

Paddington - do you know what's in your herbal mixture? Mine tastes a bit of cinnamon, asafoetida, liquorice and celery but I have no idea what it actually is?

I guess I've just got a couple of weeks of waiting now to see if any of it's actually done some good...

Fairygodmother1 · 06/10/2009 18:07

Hi Paddington,

I was seeing a chinese herbalist - he said we needed to get my p regular. The acupuncture did kinda help - got it down to 35 days!

Thats about it really.

Thanks Clur
