Ooh no Stac - don't go! You definitely fall under the category of people who deserve it!

stac14 · 07/12/2009 11:08

Hi ladies
thanks for your constant support, I know how you feel about feeling jealous about people randomly falling pregnant or even if they didnt deserve it. I was green with envy every time I heard of that. Even when it was my best friend I was gutted. If you woulld rather I bugger off now I honestly wont be offended

Hope your all well and I am sending lots of baby dust to you all

hi all well am due my periods on the 22nd so hopefully they come and i can start my tablets

Fairy definitely finding is creeping up on me these days, I just have to ignore people, unless, as you say, they have had their own troubles.

Haha thislittle you really made me laugh (ironically) about the reflexology - I had an awful experience with one. I made the mistake of booking it days after the first anniversary of the loss of our baby and days before mother's day. So i was upset when I went in, knowing I would have to go through my history of loss and then infertility with a stranger, she sat me down, told me it had been a year, there shouldn't be any tears, he didn't want to stay (OMG), I was the most upset person she had ever seen, I would never get pregnant until I got past my grief (mind you that sounds like my bl**dy doc LOL)...and so it went on, I got 'physcho-analysed' and then she told me I was too upset for the treatment! I left an absolute wreck and she never even rang to check I was ok! So I have stuck with the acunpuncturist who only causes me physical pain and doesn't mind if I cry!!
The worst thing was I can't make a complaint about her, she can call herself a physchologist (I didn't know this when I booked) and over here you have to be registered only if you are a chartered physcologist. Crazy! (I am on the case to try and change this.) Luckily I can sort of laugh about all that now, but I will never see reflexologist in the same light again LOL!

Hope you're all having a lovely pre-christmassy weekend

hi all! how we all doing? hi to all the newbies welcome aboard the clomid bus where the hormones ride for free

clure- how you doing hun? it is so frustrating if it were me i would let my hair down this xmas eat, drnk be merry and positive. positive thinking i think is underrated perhaps? MN house mulled wine or snowball anyone? snowball... so out of fashion but so good!

hey job! i found accupuncture very painful too have you tried reflexology? i much preferred that and you get a nice foot rub too!

Stac- hurrah for the scan, what a horrible gp i would write a letter of complaint you know what a heartless b**ch! some doctors forget you are a patient whose life they are talking about not some coffee guzzling collegue! Rant over ( had similar experience with a gp)
So sorry about your uti, seven seas cranberry tabs are good and barley water.

fairy, hope yout ok, fingers crossed for a xmas suprise for you!

dust and hope and positive thinking

Welcome Vanetia,

I've been on clomid for 4 cycles now. As Clur said the best time to take is before bed.
You do sound like you've got a good con as I haven't been given any scans & only two day 21 bloods to check I ovulated (didn't first month but did second).

We've been trying for 25 months now, I have PCOS but DH is fine in his dept!
We're also looking at IUI in Jan.

We also understand the green-eyed monster jumping out when friends say they are preg, accidentally or it was really easy for them, etc! The only people I seem happy for is those who've had trouble or deserve it! ARGH!!!! It makes me sound so horrible!!!!!

A few people know we've been trying & that adds to the pressure. I've found the girlies on here so supportive & always giving great advice.

Like i say welcome & feel free to share

How's everyone else? Looking forward to the weekend?

Venetia2 · 04/12/2009 19:06

Thank you both for your kind replies.

I am really lucky with the clinic, I got a choice because I live between two hospitals and went for the one with the better reputation.

I have had lots of hormone tests, day 5 and several day 21's by the GP and clinic. All normal, so thats a mystery as before I started TTC I had blood tests and a scan and was told I had PCOS, now I don't...?

Think its all overwhelming because for so long it was just us and now its not and its really officially a problem, even if they don't know what that is. (not really sure why the HSG didn't trigger all of this but a chat in clinic did?).

Good tip about taking the Clomid at night, I will do, as soon as I get to the right point to start it.

Also worried as am very hormonal (crazy) and having lunch with friends tomorrow, one of whom is justing starting to try for a baby. DH and I have really not told many people (i.e. limited family only) whats happening. Trying to be a good person, as I remember how exciting starting TTC was but also a little voice being cross that she talks about getting pregnant in a small window of time so it fits in with work....wish it was that easy....

Hormonal, you see? Doean't seem a good omen for how I will hold up once I'm on the drugs really

Clure · 04/12/2009 17:53

hi venetia2, welcome. As jobo said its a rollercoaster alright!
You sound like you have a good consultant in that he is offering monitoring scans, this is as it should be. A lot of clinics don't offer this, mine included.
Have you had all your hormone levels checked and rechecked? This is important at different points in your cycle to determine whats going on.
Its also positive that you are on an IUI waiting list although the clomid may just be what your system needs to kick start it!
I take my clomid at bedtime, lots of ladies on this thread have suggested this as it helps minimise any possible side effects. Here's fingers crossed x

jobobpip08 · 04/12/2009 15:16

Hi Venetia

I haven't been here long myself but found everyone warm and welcoming and I'm sure you will too.

As I understand, it seems to be common practice to put people on clomid whilst waiting, I have just started clomid this month and also had a scan to make sure I was responding appropriately. It is a steep learning curve, for sure! Steamroller and rollercoaster about sums it up!

I found theres lots of conflicting info on the net, but clomid does seem to have alot of success stories too.

Baby dust to you! xxx

Venetia2 · 04/12/2009 08:44

Hi all, hope you don't mind me butting in?

I'm new but just got back from fertility clinic appointment yesterday and feel a bit shellshocked. Trying for 37 months, told I had PCOS, then that I didn't, now have no idea whats going on. All tests normal, DH was tested, he's normal.
Consultant handed me Clomid prescription and put me on waiting list for IUI in Feb/March. Haven't even tried Clomid before so feel like going from 0 to 60 quite quickly, but kind of pleased someone it taking us seriously too.

Slightly worried by consultants parting comment that I better have a scan in the first cycle as slim and might get overstimulated.

Feel a bit like I've been run over by a steamroller?

millymolly83 · 03/12/2009 23:44

well done stac amstill waiting well done

Fairygodmother1 · 03/12/2009 20:17

Clur - the only way I got through to mine was because I got through to the secretary at lunchtime & the consultant happened to walk into the room at that moment & that was the 2nd month. We should exchange names as to who our cons are!

Stac - thats fantastic! All I know is that I've had 2 months of def ovulating when I had the blood tests & that really long cycle last month.

Jobo - yeah I found it worked making me regular but I went off my own back to give it a go!

CD14 & baby dancing is going well ( although we're relaxing we've still happened to do it every other day!)

What another quick week flying by!

Baby dust

stac14 · 03/12/2009 17:45

fairy I haven't taken clomid since May, for me it only worked once. I was started on metformin at the end of August took a period in September and that was my last one but according to the scan my blobs only 7-8 weeks, I'm not sure if it was the metformin or the weightloss that helped. I was supposed to use clomid with metformin but had wanted to give it a month to get into my system, luckily I didnt need it.

jobo Yeah booking scan should be after xmas which will be lovely as thats when we will see the baby properly. The cons assured us that everything is fine and nothing to worry about so trying to destress

clure your cons is a nightmare hun, have you done a pregnancy test? I was certain I wasnt I actually thought one of my cysts were bursting. Hope you manage to get through tomorrow. Your right it would be lovely to get some special xmas pressies on this thread.

hi all,
stac so glad that your scan went ok, you must have been worried. What a pants thing for the doc to say, it beggers belief!
agree with you fairy and jojo wouldnt it be nice to have a special xmas pressie?
Well done peju you sound really positive

I'm feeling a bit down hearted at the mo, don't seem to be getting anywhere - GP don't seem to have my progesterone CD21 results and can't get through to consultant. Think it must be 2 months since last period. Wondering if I should have a month off over xmas as life is so hectic at the moment.

baby dust to us all xxxxxxxxxxx

jobobpip08 · 02/12/2009 22:05

Hi stac really glad you got a scan today - hooray for wee blob! All on track for your booking scan now you've got a size.

Fairy I got referred by my doc to the acupuncturist for extremely heavy periods (which I do genuinely have) rather than ttc which meant that my husbands work health insurance pays for all of it so far! Its definitely made a difference to my periods and I'm regular as clockwork now so can recommend it.

take care all xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 02/12/2009 20:16

Thats great Stac - knew there was nothing to worry about! (keeping all positive).
My aunt had a few eptopic & she was taken in hospital pretty quick (this was like 15 years ago she had her first).

Forgot to ask - was last month your clomid free month or were you still taking it?

Jobo - I really enjoyed accupuncture, just got a bit expensive for my liking! lol. But as they say "No pain, no gain!" lol.

Hope everyone else is keeping well - can't believe it's almost the end of the year - just hoping 2010 is the year for us!

Baby dust ***

stac14 · 02/12/2009 20:01

Hey jobo Sorry that was what the gp told me when I went on Monday but today the cons scanned us and we saw what looked like a wee blob, in the proper place but looks like we are only 7 weeks she said this was due to the pcos messing about with ovulation, but everything is normal thank goodness. But yeah the gp was a total b**ch so not going to see her again. The pain is from the urine infection and its also normal for some woman to cramp in early pregnancy whic made me far more relieved.

How are you all? You all getting busy? Have you finished your xmas shopping? xx

OP posts:
jobobpip08 · 02/12/2009 16:51

Oh stac your doctor sounds just awful, so thoughtless (there was no emoticon for looking daggers at your doc). Why do people say these kind of things? I do always expect a little more understanding from female docs, too. That aside, ectopics can be really serious. I take it you didn't get a scan, as you'd have been able to see exactly what was going on and once you get to 5-6 weeks you can see the heartbeat. I thought ectopic pregnancies were increasingly painful so I agree that if its not happening like that than you are having a healthy pregnancy.

I would read up on the swine flu jab before having it, not wanting to scaremonger but I have been reading articles about an increased rate of miscarriage reported after the vaccine in America. Of course, there are many vaccines kicking around and they may not all have the same effect, but do your research.

Take care stac, big hugs and 2 fingers to your doc

stac14 · 02/12/2009 10:03

Thanks ladies, sorry to put all this on you, but your the only ones who understand what its like to be in this situation. The doc wasnt the most helpful though as she said if it was ectopic they could easily get rid of it, I was so upset. I am assuming if it was ectopic then it would have ruptured by now so trying to stay positive.

hi peju your doing fab with the weight loss huni, how soon do you expect to hear from the fertility clinic?

Hi fairy know what you mean about xmas it just seems to have crept up on us, i only have a few bits and bobs to get (i think) lol

Hey jobo your brave with the accupuncture lol, I have to go for the swine flu jab and keep putting it off lol

Let us know all the details, hopefully they will print out a pic for you.

jobobpip08 · 01/12/2009 21:40

Hi stac fingers crossed the doc can get you cleared up - isn't cranberry juice good for all that? Have you got a scan date yet?

yes, fairy I'm hoping for an extra christmas pressie too!

I was stuck all over with needles today - acupuncture session day 21 to help implantation allegedly! Did hurt a bit more than usual today - what a wimp!

Hope everyone else is well, baby dust, baby dust, baby dust xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 01/12/2009 20:02

Hi ya Stac - think xmas is beginning to take over so we're all caught up lol.

Yeah does sound like it could be a urine infection - my friend suffered badly with them during preg.

Hi all, how is everyone?

I'm hoping for a nice bfp for xmas - think I'm on day 13 so fingers crossed everyone!

How's all the bd-ing & that. As Stac said, we've all gone a bit quiet!
