Hi all,

It's bloody freezing here - went for nap this afternoon & dh felt he'd join me so not much napping happened!!!!

Glad you had a good time last night Clur. Shame I missed it - money is rather tight at the mo!

I've got a really possitive feeling that this is our month so I've really got my fingers crossed.

Keep the Bailey's Baby dust flowing ***

stac14 · 21/12/2009 11:19

Hey jobo it's freezing here and I think the worst of the snow is still to come, DP keeps saying he wants a white christmas but I keep telling him that could mean being snowed in and getting no dinner quite right for sticking to baileys flavoured baby dust, I'm just jealous lol

clure I am back to wearing the sea bands for travel sickness so its died down a bit. I did have morning sickness with ds but I think it was all the time whereas this time it only seems to be every few days, luckily! I am lcuky compared with the women that are really ill right enough. Good luck with all those kids for a party lol. DS is still at school till tomorrow so he is getting a panto today and a party tomorrow, means I get the last minute stuff finished

Hows everyone else today? all good I hope xxxx

OP posts:
Clure · 21/12/2009 11:04

hi all.

fairy - the whole family thing always seems more magnified over christmas. Hope boxing day with all the "baby" talk isn't too tough for you. Enjoy your chilled day

stac - hope the morning sickness dies down for you, did you get it with your last pregnancy? I was lucky in that I didn't have any

ven - I agree with the girls in that a glass of wine is ok, I went to a christmas do last night and had a couple, I think I get to a point when I know I'm not preg and have a few glasses in defiance. Think if you don't want a drink though you need to be politely firm in refusing - tough at this time of year

jobo and millymolly - how are you both?

We'll I have a slight heavy head from the wine and dancing last night and now have to face a big tidy up and cook ready for DD's secret santa party. Got 13 kids coming!! yikes!

jobobpip08 · 21/12/2009 08:45

Hi everyone

Ven I think the odd glass whilst you are ttc wouldn't hurt, the odd time I've drunk I just made sure it was well before ovulation (don't know if that medically makes a difference but I persuaded myself!). Could you say that you are on antibiotics or something, or that you've had a skinful over the last week with all the xmas parties and can only face one glass? When I was 2 months pregnant with DS1 over xmas, my late mil actually kept asking if I wanted a drink - we hadn't told everyone and I had to keep refusing, but then again she also smoked around me and in the car so she obviously came from a different era!
Sorry to hear about your Dad, I think how we feel or how much we miss people is nothing to do with being grown up or how long since loss, you are entitled to feel what you feel, for as long as you do.

fairy pre-conception nesting!Love it! There is times i just want to get a big skip and clear everything out!

stac no snow, just drizzle now, but at least its warmed up.

thislittle you've been a bit quiet, hope you are ok.

a bit early I know but I'd like to stick with Baileys babydust today! xxx

Hey ladies sorry for not being on.

fairy I am much better today although morning sickness came back with a vengence, sounds like your having a ball today. We are at DP's mums on xmas day and my family on boxing day so not a quiet xmas for us either but to be honest I love it lol

jobo thanks for the hugs hun, It was a bit of a nightmare having 2 funerals so close, but I chose not to go, thought it would have been a bit false of me as I would have been thinking about mum. Hows you? and the snow. It snowed here but not much we are expecting it to get worse tonight.

clure how has your weekend been?

ven I did drink while ttc, not to excess of course but if it was a special occaision or af had just came then I did get drunk but I think its personal choice. Your right people dont understand your reasons for not drinking they think your purposely being anti-social.

Hey millymolly hows you?

loads and loads of choclate covered baby dust to you all *

OP posts:
Fairygodmother1 · 20/12/2009 14:05

Ven you could possibly have 1 glass or even water it down with lemonade or Tonic (say you fancied an old fashioned Spritza as it's xmas).

Christmas is a nightmare with fam...We're spending it just the two of us with DH's bro joining us after he's finished work. Then I'm popping into to see my niece & nephew in the evening so the can have their presents before they get a ton on Boxing day.

It's Boxing Day I'm not looking forward to - It'll be my sister & her fam, my parents, my bro & the new baby, his in-laws, mum's sister & her DH & my nan...sure enough I'll have the pity faces cos I aint preg yet, have to listen to baby talk all day & then get the constant stmpathy that it'll happen soon...Thats the day I'm dreading!!!!!

Must be hard not having your dad around.

Why do we do this to ourselves - especially us who need to keep stress levels down!!!!

I'm having a fab chill out today - no school work. Played Mario Kart for a bit & maybe have Singstar or Buzzz in a little while!

Venetia2 · 20/12/2009 12:11

Afternoon,

Fairy-sorry to hear about your friend. Hope you and she are doing OK.

So nice to drop in again, glad everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit.

Hoping to start my first lot of Clomid on 23rd if all goes according to plan and then spending Christmas with my DH and his family including MIL.

I wondered if any of you had any advice-how do you cope with people who insist you have a drink? MIL is keen on a glass of wine, any refusal in the past has lead to conclusions being drawn and telling her I'm not pg then leads to a whole conversation I don't want to have (again) with her. She's lovely in many ways but breathtakingly tactless. Am really trying to keep the peace (well someone in the family will have a row with her, just trying to make sure its not me).

Feel down, not sure if its being under too much stress or that its my second christmas without dad, can't really get used to the fact he won't be there. Silly really, I am a grown up after all.

Ah well, glittery baby dust all round then?

Fairygodmother1 · 20/12/2009 08:17

Hi all,

As of this morning thats all the preg women in my family had theirs - thats my nephew & cousin born 10 days apart. I recieved a text from my 'Auntie' at about 6am to say she's had her little girl. Is it me or is birth weights smaller again. Thats my nephew at 6lb 4oz & my cousin at 6lb 11oz! We were all 8lb-ers when we were born & so was my other nephew & niece!

How's everyones weekend? We made it down to town yesterday but was there hours & was a struggle getting back up the hill as the snow is now a sheet of ice!

Clur how was the panto?

Stac how you feeling today?

Jobo how's the snow?

bailey's baby dust **

jobobpip08 · 19/12/2009 09:25

hi stac

I can't believe another funeral so soon - I don't blame you for having a 'me day' to remember your mum's anniversary, big hugs.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks you'll be feeling better as the placenta takes over.

we have snow! It won't last, never does over here but DS is delighted. That will allhange when he realises there is not enough for a snowman or even snowball. The most we can hope to get out of it is checking that the loft is well insulated!!

clure enjoy your panto, DS doesn't like noisy things either (apart from himself!) at the air display we bring ear defenders!

snowy babydust xxxx

Fairygodmother1 · 19/12/2009 09:22

Hi Stac - how you feeling today?

Very small world - very weird as neither of us knew the other was trying or on Clomid. lol. So at least we have a mini support network almost on hand when need be. We normal sneak a quick convo when no-one else is around. Gotta say with most of the preg people at work off last week & was an easier week. I know we can't ban them (lol! That would be so funny - "Oi, you can get preg easily, out! lol!) but it was nice to have a little break!

Well I've prob got 2 weeks break...

Yep a ton of snow & it's now turning to ice - really don't want to be stuck indoors today as have things to post & bills to pay!

Plus I'm doing pre-conception nesting (just made that up!) as I've been cleaning out all the kitchen cupboards since 7am this morning. My body isn't used to 'hoiday' mode yet & I needed to clear all the crap out!

Have a good day (((hugs for Stac)))

Clure · 18/12/2009 22:16

oh yes and we've had tons of snow!

Clure · 18/12/2009 22:14

hi stac,
yes fairy and I teach at same school but completely came across each other by accident on this thread - how coincidental is that? Its tiring the first few months of pregnancy, bit of a shock for the body! I remember those and the last month being REALLY tired. We off to panto tomorrow (yikes!!) Hope DD will enjoy it, she usually doesn;t do noisy situations too well

stac14 · 18/12/2009 21:50

Evening all, lucky clure and fairy finished school already, DS doesnt finish till next Tuesday. Do you two know each other in "real life"? lol

jobob and fairy was so sad reading your posts about your little angels, fairy your a great friend and jobob you are so strong.

Good luck with all the bding, dp is begining to think he is surplus to requirements as we havent been bding regularly due to how tired I am think. Think he feels as if I dont need him anymore, it is honestly tiredness lol

millymolly I wasn't on clomid when I fell pregnant, I was taking metformin.

Whats the plans this weekend? Dp friends dad died so the funeral is tomorrow, I'm not going as tomorrow is the anniversary of mums death so think it would be a bit much in my hormonal state. (soz for downer in post)

Who has snow? It snowed for about 2 hours yesterday then stopped so we have black ice, hoping it snows again, DS and DP love it lol
Take care xxxx and mmm to baileys baby dust

Fairygodmother1 · 18/12/2009 19:05

Ah but Clure, you got an extra holiday with DD.
The weird thing about my friend is that it's just a part of our lives now. We can't really remember the time before that. Although we do joke she had a longer pregnancy than an elephant! lol. Thats cos she was almost preg back to back!

Snow was lovely - had a lovely lunch with my parents (they are giving it another go) & watched by niece & nephew playing in the snow!

Keep up the BDing. DH is complaining now cos we did it so regularly last month he feels he's missing out. Hopefully only be a few more days. So CD3 for me!

Another glass (possibly bottle) of baileys baby dust! **

Clure · 18/12/2009 18:24

hi all

millymolly, this is my second time (although on cycle 4) with clomid, I had clomid to conceive my DD who is nearly 5, that time the clomid worked first time....seems to be taking a little longer this time. hope you get af soon so you can get on with the clomid x

Fairy, I can't even begin to imagine how your friend feels, its terribly sad. hope you enjoyed the extra days hols, as I don;t work fridays i feel a bit cheated!!

jobo and stac - big wave to you

Still not sure if I've ov but am bd-ing just to be sure, DH isn't complaining though. Had a lovely day with DD made a fab snowman and then spent the rest of the day having a long lunch with friends whose childrne are also DD's friends so a good time had by all

sprinking of festive babydust and maltesers

Fairygodmother1 · 18/12/2009 18:15

Milly I'm on cycle 5!!!!!! But my first time on clomid as we don't have any children yet (except the 22 I see in term time lol)!

Jobo - I've heard that about grief. I'm not convinced you get better a dealinmg with it, I think you start to give a new spin on it. t took my friend 6 years to fall preg naturally but she now says he let her know her body worked fine, it made her husband realise he was ready for fatherhood, we've now got an angel in the family (her son & my godson - not many people can say they are godmother to an angel) & she wouldn't have the fantasticly cheeky little madam she know has & treasures every moment with.

My friend & I have many convos about motherhood & that & have decided that women who try so hard to be parents are the best parents. We appreciate them & yes kids can be trying at times, but being a teacher & watching how some ch are dragged up, spoken to & treated is awful & you know you'd never treat your ch like that!

Aww bless DS. My little niece wants to know when I'll be giving her a girl cousin as my brother just had a boy. My nephew, who is 2 1/2, gets totally freaked out by preg women - he thinks they've eaten a baby & gives very dirty looks!!!!

keep the baileys baby dust flowing!!!!
