Hey stac - you're not doing anyones head in. We'll all be joining your club soon - we'll have to rename the thread!!!! Lol
Totally agree - I joined MN to talk to people that are in the same situation & to learn moore about clomid. Without it I won't have realise that I had more in common with a friend from work!!!
Hi Ven glad the holiday's wasn't as stressful as it could have been. Poor you with the mood swings. I'm happy to say I haven't been an evil cow this month but I'm also off work for the holidays so that could be I'm destressed!
Plans are uncertain for new years - could be a party, could be spending time with fam or could be just the two of us! We'll see how the day pans out!
How about everyone else?

Hey ladies, sorry if I sounded like a know all earlier didnt meant too. Just really hate the way people act about ttc as if its a god given right and because they had no probs then no-one else should. The one that always galled me was when they said it happened so quickly for me. When i was ttc ds I fell within 3 months I assumed this time round would be the same omg was I in for a shock. I think unless you have been through it you should refrain from commenting. Sometimes just being there is better than opening thier big traps. Think this is why I turned to MN I needed people who know exactly what its like to be in our shoes. done it again, sorry girls but this does so annoy me.

Welcome to the thread dodgyovaries I was diagnosed with pcos in 2007 have just found out I am pregnant after 20 months ttc. We were on clomid but unfortunately I am one of the minority for which clomid doesnt work. The cons was pushing me in the direction of IVF (very expensive) or IVF with egg donation (give mine to someone else get cheaper IVF) but I asked for metformin which is proven to assist women with pcos. Was given that for a 6 month trial with clomid. I started in August wanted to let the metformin get into my system before starting the clomid but by November I had a bfp. Good luck on your journey hun, everyone on here is so supportive. So good I am still here doing everyones head in lol

Thanks ven was mil really bad?

Hey fairy jobob clure and popsy whats the plans for new year? We still cant decide, I cant be bothered lol x

Hi all,
Sorry for silence, protracted period at MILs to blame for that....no fireworks there so all good.

I agree with all the comments about people not understanding all of this, haven't really tired to explain it to very many people but just feel like screaming at those I have sometimes when they make thoughtless comments.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas? Stac gald to hear you are doing well.

Finished the Clomid on Monday, having horrible mood swings, really not normally a weepy person but even someone being rude to me in a shop set me off today-not who was more shocked, her or me!

I'm still on Baileys flavoured baby dust until at least Friday...

Fairygodmother1 · 30/12/2009 17:30

Jobob you are totally right. I've not been through it but been the support system in such circumstance. And YES Stac even close family members are totally useless at support. They can see how much you are going through & the emotional pain when ttc & yet they continue to talk about how easy it was for them, the little details about their pregnancy or just say that they don't understand and therefore can't support you!!!!!
Who needs enemies when you have family eh?

Hi dodgy i have PCOS too & ttc#1. I was given clomid but told to continue with further help I'd have to lose weight. I've got 1.76 BMI to lose by 14th Jan to be BMI 30 (hmmm me thinks that aint gonna happen but I'm gonna give it a good try). I kept telling dr for a few years that the pill was making me ill, that my cycle was all over the place & my bloody sugar level was dodgy & finally after a year of not being able to concieve I was sent to my fertility clinic whi scanned my ovaries & confirmed I had PCOS! So much for the health system. That was a year ago now & now it's cycle 5 of clomid. Fingers crossed for this month.

Popsy fingers crossed for you too. I think I've been covering all the bases this month. DH has never had it so good! Can't say it won't be for lack of trying this month!!! Today is the ultimate ovulation day apparently although the niggles are almost non-existant today.

Hey Clure hope you are ok. How was Wales? Ready for spring term???

HI dodgyovaries welcome. It doesn't sound silly at all. It's just one more thing for you to worry about. And with PCOS it isn't an easy task!

Wouldn't it be lovely if the men could take some of the pressure??

jobob my cycles vary from 31 -39. Just checked in diary and we have covered all bases so to speak!

milly it can be so frustrating. You are completely right, people who haven't been here just don't get it!
Hope ypu are feeling better, i really suffer from taking clomid, haven't taken preverva though.

xx

dodgyovaries · 30/12/2009 11:16

Hi! Hope you don't mind me dropping in.

I was on Mumsnet a couple of years ago as I was TTC number 2. I have a DS who is 9. Had no probs at all Concieving with him.

10 years later, after trying for almost 7 years, we have discovered I have PCOS. Explains a hell of a lot! (durrr!!)

We have been refered to fertility clinic and i have to lose weight before I can go on Clomid. I'm not huge, but because of the PCOS I have put on weight and also been told it's going to be a hell of a fight to lose it too . I keep putting off going back because I don't what them to tell me i haven't lost enough weight.

Stupid I know!!

stac14 · 30/12/2009 10:24

Your so right bout people being condesending when ttc. I tried to explain as much as possible about the processes we were going through, but even in doing that people then started thinking we couldnt have a baby at all. So frustrating. Try to ignore them though. I hated the provera and clomid, felt as if i got all the side effects, my mood swings were shocking. Even dp said why was i puting myself through that, now i'm so glad we did it was totally worth it.
How is everyone today? Sorry for long winded post, when i pop i cant stop lol xx

jobobpip08 · 30/12/2009 08:14

milly exactly - I could bet they're people who have never had to 'try' to get pregnant!

popsy how long is your cycle normally? You are supposed to ovulate 14 days before the end of your cycle.

xxx

millymolly83 · 29/12/2009 23:47

thanks jobobpip08 people ask me why i go throw it they dont understand and they never will unless they are in are shoes

popsy1 · 29/12/2009 21:16

The nurse said the follicles need to be above 17mm and they can grow 2mm each day. I've made a note in my diary how i feel at each stage of the month so i can monitor aches/pains/cramps/moods etc. I normally get really tearful cd7-10 and cramps start soon after, this month i only had a few slight cramps last night.
Maybe we haven't been bd late enough in my cycle?? This is the problem when they dont scan you!

xx

jobobpip08 · 29/12/2009 20:29

Hi fairy
Niggles and aches sounds good! I'm getting really uncomfortable before ovulating these days. I think the ewcm starts 4/5 days before ovulation and stops soon after ovulation. So as soon as you start noticing the change in your mucous, get to it! Now you've put me in the mood for cranberry wensleydale, we have some in the fridge!

popsy not sure I'd want to hula in public - you're very brave!

hi milly sorry you're not feeling well, the downside to all these drugs is they don't half make you feel off sometimes. Hopefully you'll be feeling better in time to toast the new year in!

I have now seen it all, on tv - an advert for Galaxy probiotic!

Off to get crackers and cheese. I'll be quite glad when all the xmas food is gone - no more temptation!xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 29/12/2009 16:13

Hi pops
How much should they grow to know you've ovulated? Do you get any niggles or that?
xxx

popsy1 · 29/12/2009 15:38

I'm very jealous you all have wii's. I really want one!! I went to hula classes a while ago. Oh my god I was awful. My friend n I found it funny that I couldn't do it at first. Although after a few weeks of hula drop hula drop I got a little annoyed .
Just back from scan cd14. One follicle at 13mm! Back on Friday to check it.

Xx

Fairygodmother1 · 29/12/2009 15:28

Thats ok stac - was really funny though. Free tonight but he's back after that for a few times.

Lots of niggles & aches today so I hope it's all good signs.

does anyone know how long the egg white type discharge is supposed to happen and at which point can it mean you are ovulating???

Gotta agree about the hula hoop - I think women are just more looser in that area!!! lol

cranberry wensleydale & Ritz baby dust (cos I'm in a savory mood)

hi popsy we have had a quiet christmas again and haven't socialised, we too have a son, aged 5, and I cried when he opened his presents (he was too busy to notice!). It is hard to deal with sometimes, but it does get better, that much I can tell you.

fairy you're going to have to set up some kind of signal for your bil!

stac I love the hula too, I also have the record in our house (not hard to beat a 5 year old, tho, is it?) but I did sustain a knee injury from over exertion!

never thought I'd say it but just about had enough choc for this year! Seem to have got so many chocs given, feel like I'm gonna pop .

fruit salady baby dust! xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 28/12/2009 19:39

Stac - think you jinxed us today. Just about to get down to BDing this afternoon & Bil turns up (he didn't come home last night as he pulled a girl).
I was laughing so much as DH run around the bedroom looking for clothes. lets just say both brothers were looking a bit sheepish not wanting to explain what they'd been up to. No Bil tonight as he has tomorrow off so he's gone home to get some clean clothes (obviously my washing machine aint good enough!!!). he'll be back in Wed so Bding undisturbed if we want.

Felt really sick this afternoon & now really want something savoury to eat - preb a reaction to the sweet stuff.

popsy1 · 28/12/2009 17:38

jobobpip I'm so sorry for your loss. It truly is the most horrendous time i have ever been through and still on that journey unfortunately. Some days are still so hard and life seems a real shit!I'm embarrassed to say that i've hidden away this christmas. Just enjoyed spending time with my hubby and son
I completely understand what you mean about saying how you really feel. It's sometimes slightly scary, isn't it? Yep, the dreaded date is already there firmly in my head. even with the start of the new year preogrammes is a bit uncomfortable (my waters broke during dancing on ice!) Completely and utterly insane, i know .

I hope we both bring each other good luck fairy. I read my new new stars today and they said i need to look after my health and presserve my enjoy!! Hopefully for a very healthy, fulterm pregnancy and beautiful healthy baby .
I've had a few cramps/pains today but no CM so unsure if ov or not yet (CD13). Scan tomorrow so they will hopefully tell me more. It's been a bit hard to bd as much as we would like as our 13 yr old stays up as late as us now!!

Loving the lindt chocolatey baby dust.
xx

Fairygodmother1 · 28/12/2009 10:46

Hi girlies

Think I'm still ov so more bding here today which has changed my plans. Might as well take the opportunity whiloe I'm off work & we can!

Bil is working so we can fit in BDing when he's not around!

Whats the plans for new years? Ours is uncertain.

Hey ladies
Sorry for the moan earlier, your so right that it will be worth being the sensible one and of course when baby is born I can have night out with the girls lol

popsy I should have said to you before about this thread, I have used both since ttc and the ladies are fab. Hows the metformin treating you?

clure is it maybe period pains or implant pains your having? I was so crampy at the start of the pregnancy defo do the test befoer starting provera. Hope you felt better for the party tonight, we went to dinner with friends but were only out for a couple of hours as I am shattered

jobob love the pressie idea lol, we have a wii fit the games are fab, I was addicted to hula hoop, hold the record in my house. I think anything you feel regarding your baby is totally understandable hun, and I feel it for both you and popsy. Enjoy the lindt chocolate, my fave over the past couple of days was a pavlova at mil's house

hi everone provera is makeing me feel really sick and sore stomach i have 5 more days to take

jobobpip08 · 27/12/2009 21:42

Hi all
I'm feeling rather like a stuffed turkey after xmas excess! Hope you all had a good time.

stac nothing worse than being the sensible one! it will all be worth it!

clure hope you're feeling better and having a good party.

Hi Popsy, I'm sorry for your loss, I'm an angel mum too, we lost our baby boy last March at 38+4 due to a knot in the cord and having previously got pregnant really easily, its just not happening. I'm now on cycle 2 with clomid.

With absolutely no offence intended to the lovely ladies on here - you're all lovely - but sometimes I daren't say how I feel as you'd think I was nuts or suicidal, altho as Fairy said, living with loss becomes part of your everyday normal - I don't know if you have every been onto SANDS but the forum is re-opening in January and can be a really good place to connect with other angel mums about all sorts of things, feelings, ttc etc. I have found it to be a lifesaver at times. Feel free to message anytime you want a chat. If you're anything like me, i just found once xmas was over there was nothing else but the anniversary looming.

Now all of you, no laughing - DH had said he had got us a joint present, sounds interesting hmm? I was expecting great things! When i opened it, it was scales with bodyfat monitor - 'the consultant said you needed to get your bmi down'. No, he hasn't heard of online bmi calcuators! Lucky i love him . He also bought me a big bar of toblerone. And fairy I got the new wii fit too.

mmm lindt chocolatey (from the neighbours) baby dust xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 27/12/2009 20:40

Popsy thats good that you are getting scanned. When I asked my cons he said that our HA doesn't do that so I'm almost stumbling about in the dark as I have PCOS so OPKs don't work!
Originally we thought that DH had low count too but cons said it's all normal.
My next hosp app is 14th Jan where I think our next step is IUI but don't know untill we get there. Also need to lose weight.
I got the new WII fit for xmas so I'll try that as the old one worked for the first few weeks!
The first month on Clomid i didn't ov but I did the second month. Presumung I have since then but only got 2 blood test forms from hosp.
Great that we're cycle buddies - might be good luck for you as I was for Stac and she's now preg!

Sending lots of festive baby dust
