peju25 · 31/12/2009 19:11

stac14 · 31/12/2009 19:09

Woohoo peju so chuffed for you huni, very rare to get a false positive. You can do them as often as you like but I think its about 3 days. Think the sore boobs and positive test kind of prove the point though

Aww clure thanks your a wee star, sorry about bfn hun but it will happen for you. How was your hols?

All the best to everyone when it comes. Go on 2010 for plenty more bfp's xx

Clure · 31/12/2009 17:40

OMG peju just read your post. Fantastic news. Yes do another (though chances of false positive are incredibly rare)

Clure · 31/12/2009 17:38

helloooooo all!

scuse any dodgy typing have DD sitting on lap waiting to get onto play education city!

Got back from a lovely family visit, been away for a few days and just been reading your posts and trying to catch up. Its been busy on here! Missed you all!

Stac, glad you are still feeling well, you still give us all hope
Welcome dodgyovaries, its a great support being on this thread. I too am trying to conceive number 2 its proving SO difficult
Fairy - good that you seem to be oving and managing to get down to BDing (at last!!) I would ask your consultant about metformin, it may just be the thing to give you that extra chance.
popsy, jobo I really can;t imagine dealing with the losses you have both suffered. You are both so brave
milly sorry the provera is giving you a hard time, stick with it and hopefully you'll get af sooon

I just did another test and got another bfn, While I was away I had REALLY bad pains which felt like oving pains, but no cm and had thought I may have ov a couple of weeks ago. However with my massively irregular cycles I really don;t know where I am. I am torn now whether to give the provera anothr go and try another (5th cycle) of clomid or give myself a rest. Like fairy I have my consultant appointment soon (18th jan) I now feel like I am veering towards not wanting to go down the donor egg route - which for me would probably mean I wouldn;t be accepted for ivf given my circumstances.

Anyway ladies sorry for massive posting, wishing you all a smashing evening. mine will be spent recovering from seeing all the family and spending it with DH and DD (well till she goes to bed!)
xxxxxxxxxx

dodgyovaries · 31/12/2009 13:59

thanks fairy and popsy popsy good luck tomoz! Can you request the Metformin from your GP?

fairy I eat really sensibly. I do have a 'treat' once a week. I don't do enough exercise, that's the prob!

Hope you all have a very Happy New Year! Have a great night! We're staying in (as usual!) and getting cozy!!

Fairygodmother1 · 31/12/2009 13:43

Hi dodgy - yeah it is really hard. I wouldn't say my diet is bad really. Ok I don't eat my 5-a-day but I try to. Never skip meals & always go for the healthier option. I went to weight watchers & put weight on!!!!!! My friend just couldn't believe it as she was losing & I put on. The weeks I lost weight was when I'd been out clubbing & drinking at the weekend!!!!

Good luck Popsy - I'm getting almost period type pains today. Could be from the amount of BDing we've done lately!!! I just hate this stumbbling around in the dark. I just feel utterly useless which is not a good state for me. I like to be in control! A few years ago before I found the one to settle down with I always hoped that I'd fall preg without realising cos I know what I'm like for being impatient! Someone's now certainly teaching me a lesson of patience!

This has def got to be our year - we'll up the birth rate drastically between the lot of us! lol.

Think we're now daying in with a nice meal, a cuddle on the sofa & Orlando (one of my fantasy men) on tv!!!!

popsy1 · 31/12/2009 13:21

Hello all.

No plans for tonight stac, think we are just gunna have a quite one. I don't really like new year that much, so a meal, a few drinks and a snuggle on the sofa for me!! God i'm a crazy chick

dodgy i never knew anything about metformin until stac mentioned it. I'm on Cd16 on my 6th month. I had my cons appointment and they wanted to pursue the IUI or IVF avenue with me, until i asked for metformin. She was very reluctant (and very stupid) but eventually, after consulting my cons, she gave me 3months worth combined with clomid 100mg. It's def worth a try hun. The doc said to me that because it isn't proven that it helps, then some docs are for it and some against. Pot luck, i think!!

Scan tomorrow ladies, so fingers crossed my little follicle will now be a huge follicle Think i am starting to ov as a few niggles and a CM!

Wishing you all a wonderful new year and i am genuinely oping that 2010 is our year ladies. It's about bloody time

xxxx

dodgyovaries · 31/12/2009 12:10

Hi fairy

I have a BMI of 33.

I haven't been told what i need to get down to, but I'm determined to do something about.

They say it's harder for PCOS women to lose weight, is that right??

Fairygodmother1 · 31/12/2009 12:06

Dodgy, what is your BMI? Cos I'm def in the over weight category but he gave me clomid anyway & was told to lose weight in case I needed further help. When I researched, most clinic won't treat you unless your BMI is under 30.

Don't know if that helps?

**

Fairygodmother1 · 31/12/2009 12:02

Stac I might suggest that too when I go to see the cons on 14th!

Cheers hon xxx

dodgyovaries · 31/12/2009 11:42

Ooooh stac, that sounds just the job.

I never knew about these things. I suppose i didn't know what to ask for

Did you lose a lot of weight on it?? x

stac14 · 31/12/2009 11:27

dodgyovaries i was given the clomid even though i needed to loose weight, if they see you are trying they may be a bit more helpful. If not ask for metformin, it helps with the pcos and also helps you loose weight. It was using this that helped me fall pregnant. You can also ask your gp about it, worth a shot. They were given me nothing else after 6 months of clomid so i asked for the met. X

OP posts:
dodgyovaries · 31/12/2009 11:19

I haven't started the Clomid yet as they want me to lose weight. I keep putting off going back because I havent' lost the weight. although they didn't tell me how much i need to lose!

I'm going to book another appointment for the new year and just have to put up with the 'you haven't lost weight so you can't start Clomid'

Think I need a rocket up my bum!

stac14 · 31/12/2009 11:10

dodgyovaries thanks hun, i have a ten year old ds, had him with previous partner. His dads an ass. Dp and i wanted baby of our own, while i agree that if you have any kids already you should be thankful. I feel that if you have that yearning you should be entitled to the help and support to get there. After all women who dont need help ttc arent told to be grateful for the kids they already have. Bout the age gap I was concerned too as there are ten years between my sis and me but my cuz has a 17 year old son who has a brother and sister that are 4 and 6 and he loves helping out. Have the cons told you, you need to loose weight? Our nhs offered a weight management scheme so check it out incase gp can help. Have you started the anti-d's since you went on clomid? It can be really bad for pmt, but they could change you to femera, probs havent as its more expensive. Hope you have a great new year xxx

ven mil is lucky its been a good month with clomid lol, its always harder when they have to stay with you. Dp keeps talking about moving away as we only live a short drive from his family but as i see it at least we can come home or they can go home when we have had enough of each other lol hope you have a great new year xx

jobob i mentioed taking the tree down and dp nearly took a strop, he says its to stay up till the 6th as its bad luck, but they are coming to put our new kitchen and bathroom in on the 6th so he will have to compromise lol, enjoy your evening and all the best when it comesxx

fairy your right we will have to change the thread, then we will all be talking about trapped wind and stretch marks lol thanks for making me feel welcome, probs my hormones lol. Have a great night.xx

Hope you all have a great new year, all the best when it comes. I,m hoping for a quiet one as can't be bothered but no doubt i will be talked into something. Hope alls well with clure and thislittle roll on 2010 for lots of bfp's on here xxx

millymolly hope your not still feeling ill with the provera, have they offered anything else? All the best when it comes xx

dodgyovaries · 31/12/2009 10:02

Aw thanks all of you making me feel so welcome!

I am lucky tho, as I have a DS, so i can't beat me self up too much. Just sooo fustrating.

I had a scan on my ovaries back in 2006, and was told that because I was having periods I was ovulating!

I am determined to lose the weight come the new year tho. DS is 10 in Feb so it's such a huge age gap.

Do you girls suffer from severe PMT/S? I have just been prescribed some Anti D's for it as I have turned in to a monster over the last 6 months

Good luck to you all and huge Congrats Stac14! show's there IS a light at the end of the tunnel!

Happy New Year to you all and hopefully we'll all be celebrating BFP's!

Venetia2 · 31/12/2009 06:58

Jobo, I totally recognise the limbo too-started a new job three years ago, thinking any minute I would be on maternity leave, due to start another new job in 3 weeks, still thinking I better not book a holiday too far in advance etc...

Stac, yes MIL did get off lightly with the mood swings. She always says just relax and do what you like and then spends the rest of the trip telling us not to do whatever we are doing!

Happy New Year!
*

Fairygodmother1 · 30/12/2009 21:24

Jobo know what you mean about the limbo - been like it for 2 years, not going on school journeys & things. Was offered a course to go on recently (it fell through) but was thinking I could possibly be on maternity leave & might not be able to do it but then again I might not. Thats the thing about being a teacher - wondering when I'll be taking leave or what my plans for next year are.

I asked DH when we should put our tree down, Friday or Sat. No reply yet. lol.

Jobo your baby dust sounds really nice

jobobpip08 · 30/12/2009 20:15

Hi dodgy and welcome. Losing weight is hard enough, harder still with the added stress of seeing fertility consultants etc.

stac you didn't sound like a know all, just someone who's been there!

I can't be bothered with the new year either and the tree came down today too! Artificial too, so can't blame needle drop!

hi ven looks like your mil got away lightly with the side effects then!

fairy I'm quite lucky with most people, the mums at school who are brave enough to talk to me about it are the ones who have had their own problems. My dad was the one who, not wanting to see my pain after my 8 week miscarriage in the summer asked (with tears in his eyes) if i had thought about stopping? Its not that easy tho, is it? .
The one thing DH and I both hate this being in limbo, we can't move forward, we can't plan holidays (you know, 'in case' I'm pregnant and had a panic about the baby I would need an english speaking hospital etc). We have even talked about adoption recently, 'in case'. Even DS asked today when we are getting a baby, I've had to be honest now and tell him that my tummy isn't working properly thats why I have to keep seeing the doctor. Sorry if I have brought anyone down, just really feeling it at the mo.

On a happier note, cocktail sausages, oven baked breaded camembert, curried chickeny bits and garlic bread with a side order of baileys sprinkled with baby dust!Mmmm. xxx
