jobo I think your right hun she will defo be down. One of my biggest fears is a missed mc. just clinging to the fact that I have still have pregnancy symptoms so frightened about that. I have looked it up but dont want to even consider it as an option. I went to Jersey when I was about 4, my gran chased after john nettles to get to meet him lol

OP posts:
jobobpip08 · 05/01/2010 21:10

stac I think you're quite normal about being nervous, not irrational at all, you can do the excited bit after when your looking at the photos!
I'm down in "sunny" jersey, a couple of inches snow forecast tomorrow so as yet I don't know if there will be school or not.
I think your niece will be down for a while, my first pregnancy I got to 12/13 weeks and had a missed miscarriage, being blissfully ignorant at the time I never expected anything to go wrong and I was absolutely devastated and ended up with a small depression, found it difficult to cope at work etc. Nobody wants to talk about miscarriage or how you feel, but its a very real feeling of loss. The miscarriage association don't have a forum, i think, but they do lots of downloadable leaflets and I think sometimes to know that what you are feeling is normal is comforting. Its not about how long you are pregnant, its about all your hopes and dreams.
fairy you want to be here, its roasting in our lounge, we've got the fire going and last night the dog had to go and find a cool spot on the floor!

Fairygodmother1 · 05/01/2010 19:58

stac my app is 14th Jan. Glad she has it a little more explained. Hopefully this is the boost she needed to get things investigated - look for the silver lining! Bloody hard, I know!

No snow here & looks like it will hit surrounding towns but not here!!!!!

Bloody freezing - can't stop shaking & about to have a bath!

fairy she went to see her gp, think she explained things a bit better to her so she has stopped crying as much but to be honest she is still very down. The clomid only made me ov on one cycle, metformin is defo worth a try (but hey am bias) is your app next week? x

popsy how did your scan go on monday? hope your ok hun x

mllymolly any sign of af? x

jobob I am more nervous to be honest, it may seem irrational but I am scared something is wrong. But of course I naturally cant wait to see the baby. Were are you based? Have you had lots of snow? xxx

OP posts:
jobobpip08 · 05/01/2010 19:35

clure the laugh of it is I was trying to avoid a d&c as they make you wait a couple of months before trying again, when the consultant saw me and scanned me the first thing he said was I needed a hysteroscopy and d&c to remove polyps! I had to laugh and I'm sure he now thinks I'm a bit dotty!

stac I like your style! Hope only you can get to your scan and there is no queue . You more nervous or excited?

fairy fingers crossed for you, the symptoms are looking good!

We've only had a bit of snow but more promised tomorrow afternoon, we only need about 10 flakes of snow to stick and the whole island grinds to a standstill, we're hopeless in snow!

Looking forward to a day on my own tomorrow!

stac14 · 05/01/2010 18:40

Hey clure not snowed in but fed up with it. The cold snap is meant to last another 6 weeks but I hope it doesnt snow again tonight as that may stop me getting my scan, on the other hand other people may struggle to get there so it may not be as busy (ooh how selfish is that) but to be honest the maternity hospital is so busy, hoping to transfer to my local maternity unit.
So impressed by the amount of exercise and training you do, I am so lazy when it comes to physical activity, think the wii and walking is my limit lol Are you looking forward to seeing the cons to see how you move forward?

hope everyone else is good today? xxx

OP posts:
Fairygodmother1 · 05/01/2010 18:37

Hi ya

Stac I'm gonna ask cons about attempting metformin, if I am going to get IUI & why aint the clomid working??? How's your niece today?

Jobo - sounds like you've been through so much. I haven't been through anything quite that but I think we've all had to put up with some pretty heartbreaking stuff. Just wish I knew when it was all gonna end. I think that this is the def place to be for advice from those who've been through it!

Clure Still blinky cold at school!!!! I spent a lot of my day in my coat. Plus we were both on playground duty!!!

Positive note is that my boobs are still sore (thought it was easing a bit but walking up the corridor today to fetch my blinking printing made me realise how much they hurt). DH thought they looked bigger again last night so we measured them. Gonna do the same tonight & see if they have actually increased but a pretty good clevage going on!!! lol.

Clure · 05/01/2010 18:25

hi,

jobo- so sorry for your mc, sounds like you have been to hell and back. Yes stay away from the estate agents!! My DH would like to move, only locally but to a quieter road and with a larger garden. He's not long had a good promotion and think the salary is now burning a hole in his pocket!!!

Fairy - I felt so lazy after doing all my chores last night I couldn;t even be botherd to get into the bath!! Just wrapped myself up like a sausage roll in a fleecy blanket and attached myself to the sofa!

stac - go for the wii!! Bodypump is a weight lifting class, missed it last night but will go on thursday. I'm off to spin tonight (if it doesn;t snow!!) I'm addicted to exercise I think!! It just gives me a real lift. Am booking up for a half marathon in April. Sorry about your niece hope she's ok, good that GP is doing investigations for her. Yes I have consultant soon, basically I think I'd like to be referrd for initial tests to see if I may be considered for ivf using my own eggs (thinking not a chance but worth investigating) also if I'm not going to conceive naturally if I may need some kind of hormone treatment to regulate my periods. Hope you are not snowed in there?

hiya to the rest of you ladies, how are you doing? Haven't heard from a few of you in a while, hope things ok

loads of babydust sprinkled with glitter xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

stac14 · 05/01/2010 12:16

jobob her gp has said its defo a mc but she is going to investigate pcos and check her kidneys as she gets loads of urine infection. Thanks for the advice hun.

I promised i would do wii fit while everyone was out but its sitting under the drawers lol. Defo going to get back into it after wednesdays scan.

How are you all today? Not long till some of you see the cons, do you have a rough idea what you want to talk to them about? XxXx

OP posts:
jobobpip08 · 05/01/2010 09:45

stac As you say it would sound like your niece wasn't as far as long as 8 weeks, that said to be trying for so long only to lose the pregnancy....its heartbreaking.
It seems to be my (and my hubbys) lot these days that we are just going through more than anyone should in a short space of time! Hopefully a new decade will bring better things. But, as the saying goes, that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger and I am certainly very grateful that we have a rock solid marriage.
I'm just going onto a healthy diet and trying to cut down the wheat again. Haven't tried my wii fit recently as DS always wants to 'join in' and gets upset when he can't do the things on there, so waiting until after school starts tomorrow!

jobob sorry to hear you went through such a hard time hun. The thing with my niece is they said there was nothing there and are estimating how many weeks she was due to lmp, i thought she may be much less hence the fact its old blood coming from her. When scanned they said it looked like a mc but she has to go back to get hsg levels checked. She hasnt had any pain and to be honest the bloods not reaching a pad (sorry tmi). Thats why we dont understand whats going on. Soz 4 goin on bout it, dont want to drag up memories for anyone.
What diet are you going to go on? Hows the wii fit treating you?

stac much as I hate to hold my hand up (although you lot don't know the half of what we;ve been through over the last 5 years, your hair would curl), I miscarried at 8 weeks in the summer, couldn't face the thought of being back in hospital so opted for home management. I awoke to awful pain, like labour pain (really!) and had to go into hospital, my cervix was closed and the pain passed, had awful pain again the next day, went in and again it passed. I was bleeding all this time, some huge clots, it wasn't until about 5 days later I actually passed a little sac the size of a grape. Nobody told me it was going to be so painful! Might not be for everyone, but I had a shock. You niece could opt for a d&c to speed things along, if she hasn't passed anything yet.

fairy bloody scales are broken, they must be, I can't possibly weigh that much . have spent the evening not knitting but looking at this gorgeous 30's house for sale, renovation project but we've done 3 now so no problem there. If it was just us I'd go for it, wood panelling, great views, 6 bedrooms (the dog could have one) and we'd have money in the bank but would have to take DS out of a lovely school and bless him he's been through so much with us the past couple of years. Hoping I've persuaded myself....probably not the best time to be making decisions like that! Must...stay.....away...from....estate....agents....websites....

fairy thats great thanks so much for taking the time to look for it for me. I think its been a complete m/c. I am ok just feel so rotten for her. When I was pg with DS her mum m/c so it kind of feels like history repeating itself. Think I just need to let her do what she is doing and offer to be there for her.

Thanks again for the support ladies xxx

Stac she obviously has age on her side. I'm really not sure as I've never had one and my auntie was the last person i know to have one like 20 years ago!

Found this on another website:
Your GP or gynaecologist may use one of the following terms to describe your type of miscarriage.

A threatened miscarriage describes bleeding in early pregnancy where your cervix (the opening to your womb) is tightly closed. Your pregnancy should continue if your ultrasound scan shows the heartbeat of your developing baby. An inevitable miscarriage describes bleeding in early pregnancy where your cervix is open, which means your pregnancy will be lost. An incomplete miscarriage describes a miscarriage that has definitely started, but there is still some pregnancy tissue left in your womb. Your cervix is usually found to be open. A complete miscarriage means that your pregnancy has been lost. Your womb is now empty and your cervix has closed. A delayed or missed miscarriage means that although the baby stopped growing and died, you didn't lose any pregnancy tissue straight away. This type of miscarriage usually causes a small amount of dark-brown blood loss. You may get sudden end-of-pregnancy symptoms or you may have no symptoms at all.

Don't know if that helps...

How are you feeling now?

xxx

Clure · 04/01/2010 21:19

aw stac so sorry. I can't offer any advice on the miscarriage situation, sure someone will come along and offer advice on here.

I'm SOOOOO cold, haven't been warm all day, freezing classrooms. Didn't make my bodypump class as had school work to do, DD was being very exciteable at bathtime and refusing to do anything I asked and so it took ages!
Hope everyone else well, I have taken decision to leave the clomid for this cycle.
Fairy I have got my consultant appointment a couple days after you

Hey ladies
Sorry I have a memory like a seive at the moment. My niece is nearly 20 and has been ttc for 2 years (I know theres no way a girl her age should have been trying but what can I say) anyway the docs never took her seriously obviously because of her age. She has very sporadic periods, to be honest I am sure she has pcos. Well just before new years her friend had a dream in which she was pregnant and got her to do a test, she got bfp. According to her lmp she was 8 weeks. She started bleeding on saturday night but it was only when she wiped. We thought it might be a breakthrough bleed but she went to the hospital still had bfp so she got scanned today. They said it looks like she has had a miscarraige, her cervix is still closed. They also told her the blood she is losing is old blood. I havent had a miscarraige before but I assumed you would bleed quite a bit but shes not nor is she in any pain. Sorry for laying this on you ladies but do you have any ideas? xxx

fairy yet again we are posting simultaneously (wow what a big word for a sunday night!).

My diet starts tomorrow if anyone wants to join me, we could have a weekly weigh in and see what we've lost?

Have started knitting again to a) stop me surfing all night and to b) stop me picking! Hmmm the knitting diet - wonder if it will catch on!

Night all

Hi all

Well we thought we'd better make the most of the xmas lights and went for a drive round, suprisingly few lights up, but the harbour near us has quite a few restauants and a pub and looked lovely. Not too many others tho, must be something to do with the huge electricity price hike we had this year .

Ven, I thought just like you and felt quite bloated aound ovulation and for all that I only had 2 acceptable and 1 small. This month I only had 1 big one but again felt huge!

I'm a stay at home mum so no work for me, part-time term-time jobs ae like hens teeth here. But then again I'm never still either so I don't know how I would fit work in anyway! DS starts school on Wednesday so peace and quiet then.
