morning all

schools still closed here so now contemplating taking DD out to find a sledge to buy!

hi kiwi, how are you doing? Where are you at at the moment? I'm having a month off from the clomid to give my body a rest

stac my DD was also a long baby, she went on forever, my Dh is 6'1 (and as I'm only 5'1) I'm guessing she has DHs genes!!

geezette sounds very positive for you. Agree taking clomid at night is better, what dosage are you on?

popsy good luck with the weight watchers

fairy oooh its sounding good for you hun (though don't want to get your hopes up too high, I know only too well what its like to have them dashed)...but you WILL get there you have age on your side and possible IUI as a safety net. hope you enjoying the extra day off

kiwikat hows things been with you? Hope your well

geezette sounds like you have some decent folicles hun. fairy is right about taking clomid at night, defo eased the sickness and stuff. Funnily when i was increased to 100mg my side effects were less but that may have been my body getting used to it. Hope you feel better soon

popsy i had just started scottish slimmers when i found out i was pg, was going to keep going but dp says he wasnt paying a fiver a week for them to tell me i have put weight on lol

Hows everyone else? Are you having a nice snow days?? Its is beyond freezing here xxx

Hello everyone - I haven't been on for ages (took me ages to read through and catch up), so I hope you will remember me. Have to say WOW! Fantastic news from Stac and Peju. I'm really hopeful for the rest of us as a result. Clure, how are you doing?

Fairygodmother1 · 07/01/2010 22:47

Geezette thats really good on the first month. I know some have conceived first month. I didn't ovulate till 2nd cycle. Then been left to get on with it! My moods have got worse, but the panic attacks & thats have become non-existant!

Hi ladies. Thanks for the warm welcome .

Fairy - I took the Clomid in the mornings this time but will try taking it at night next month. The symptoms weren't too bad when i was actually taking the tablets but have gotten worse during the month!

I had a Day 10 scan and had one good sized follicle and two smaller ones. I had two progesterone levels done, as my Day 21 fell on sat 2 so they made me have two, one on the thurs and then another on the mon and got levels of 73 and 78, which the infertility nurse said was good and showed i ovulated so we are keeping our fingers crossed

Am crossing my fingers for all of you too!!

jobobpip08 · 07/01/2010 22:13

popsy well thats a funny thing. They don't seem to have a proper messaging system, you can set up this CAT thing and it passes your contact details on! For a fiver! Bit of a novice on MN. Do you want to email me nash_jo @ yahoo.com. (Hope it shows it!) Get there eventually! x

popsy1 · 07/01/2010 22:00

I think I've done it jobob
think I'm gunna join weight watchers next week stac so hopefully that'll kick start the weight loss.

Xx

Fairygodmother1 · 07/01/2010 21:57

Welcome Geezette - yep sounds like Clomid. It does get better. I seem to just get moody now!!! Do you take it just before bed? Thats the best way to get over most of the symptoms!

Aww Jobo sorry af got you! Glad you had a good day. We had fun competing against each other on the Wii! Had such a laugh, so needed. Also sounds like you have fantastic support from Hosp. I don't know if you agree Clure but I feel like I'm stumbling about in the dark!!!!

Clure I had a lovely day. Aww bless DD, she's adorable! As is DS Jobo - sounds like my brother when he was little. If someone gave him some money, he wouldn't accept less than a fiver! My Granddad always gave it too him! lol.

Boobs still feel firm, bruised & look a little veiny - I hope I'm not going to be disappointed again this month. My best friend is so worried I will be that she's on tender hooks! AAARRRGGGGHHH! Wish I knew what was going on!

stac14 · 07/01/2010 21:55

Hey ladies, thanks for the comments about scan. Have to admit baby does look very long but DS is very tall so maybe its just the way I make them lol.

jobo sorry af got you hun, glad your getting decent care through your cons. Dog sounds like mine punishes you when it suits him, what kind is it?

Welcome geezette I am currently the threads success story. I hated taking the clomid too got loads of side effects but for me it didnt do the trick (I am in the minority so dont worry) Good luck on ttc

popsy I started august and but the time I stopped in October I was around half a stone lighter, has the side effects calmed down?

Poor DD clure how are you?

fairy you feeling any better luv?

Hope everyone else is well. hot chocolate and whipped cream covered baby dust

jobo sounds like you are in very good hands x

jobobpip08 · 07/01/2010 21:33

clure poor DD! DS has forgotten what happened to his snowman last year and we didn't have enough snow before xmas to make a snowball! We adopted the dog 6 months ago, just when you think you've solved the house training issue he does something like this! He is very lovely aside from that and loves his cuddles.

Anyone who needs help over here gets referred to the assisted repo unit at our only hospital, so maybe thats why. I'm still linked to my cons, because of my history he is keeping a close eye on my progress. In fact they're fantastic like that over here, when i do get pregnant I'll have monthly scans and I can get induced at 38 weeks.

Clure · 07/01/2010 21:22

hi all

welcome geezette - you never know, I conceived first clomid cycle last time. Good luck

stac - great scan pic x

jobo - sorry af got you. Your post about your dog made me laugh though! I asked my consultant last time about injection to help ovulate and its not the done thing here - only if you are doing assisted conception under a fertility clinic will they do that at our nhs hospital.

popsy - its sounding positive for you

fairy - have you enjoyed your day off?

DD off school too so we built a snow man but she was so traumatised by the disappearance of her last snowman called freddy (just before xmas) that she wasn;t keen to build another!

popsy I was going to message you privately but it won't let me, would you mind changing your options so I can? x

popsy1 · 07/01/2010 21:05

Your son sounds adorable. He will be the next alan Sugar
it's the first anniversary in a little over 3 weeks. So I know how you feeljobob. I'm dreading it. I don't think february and July will ever be the same again

Hoping for another snow day tomorrow!!

Xxx

jobobpip08 · 07/01/2010 20:48

Hi geeze nice to meet you!

popsy no, it doesn't get any easier, I've got the 2nd anniversary coming up in March and I'm already feeling that downhill slide. I'll have to see what they say about the cons, I'll have a scan on day 12, but if I need to see the cons for more clomid I'll have to go private, that takes about a month otherwise it will take about 3 months and i'd rather not waste that time.

Your follicle sounds good, they just give me a jab to make me ovulate - problem solved! Funny how its all different depending where you are.

Snow day tomorrow as well, going a bit stir crazy tho. DS is making little snowman cards and bookmarks and trying to sell them for £1.50! Won't take pretend money either!

Whats everyone else up to?

popsy1 · 07/01/2010 20:20

Welcome Geezette the more the merrier! Unfortunately the symptoms sound like clomid hun. The symptoms are so similiar to pregancy ones its so annoying!! Although it is quite common to conceive on the first month

jobob sorry Af arrived. It doesn't get any easier does it? Sounds like you've had a fun day though Whens your cons appointment?

stac how long did it take you to loose some weight with metformin? Its not coming off me

Scan today went well. Follicle is collapsing, so ovulating . Blood test next week to confirm.CD23 today and have back ache, a few cramps and full, tender boobs! Its all good fun isn't it ladies?

Had a snow day today

How is everyone else??

xxxx

Geezette82 · 07/01/2010 19:49

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining in your thread. I know you are a long way through!

My partner and I have been TTC for about three years with no luck. I am on my first cycle of Clomid on CD26, so have a few days left before testing.

My question is, is it normal to feel so different on Clomid. I have been having bad stomach cramps, headaches and breast heaviness for the last week or so but I am pretty sure am not pregnant - would be good if I was obviously! Also feel quite nauseous - but i'm thinking that its due to nerves - now we are under the infertility clinic am finding things even more stressful! Would be grateful for any help with others symptoms!

Lots of babydut for us all!

jobobpip08 · 07/01/2010 18:15

Ah well. CD1 altho' that might explain the slightly irrational (only slightly mind you) emotional feelings over the last few days. Last month of clomid so I'll have to see tomorrow what will happen next when I book my scan, don't know if they will just re-issue another 3 months worth or if I'll have to see the cons.

Made a snow man with DS today and the dog, to teach us a lesson for not letting him out did a poo, pee (he can go for at least 4 hours when he wants), nicked DS soft toy orang-utan, nicked my knitting out of my bag and then ate the last of the chocolate xmas tree baubles (how an animal with no opposable thumbs can open wrappers intact is beyond me!). He's like a naughty child! Most upset with him!

Fairygodmother1 · 07/01/2010 07:47

Stac - preg brain hit you hard - I'm the one with a cons app next Thur & yep it's the cold I've been fighting over the xmas hols & now back to work it's hit me. headache & sinus pain. I don't really want to take anything...just in case & all that!

It's snow day today!!!!! Got one wish!

How is everyone else?
