popsy do you know if you usually ov by cd 21? I felt sometimes my bloods were done too late, if your already oving the metformin wouldnt change that hun

fairy sorry af got you but thats fab news about the cons puting you forward for IVF. Do you know when you stop?

rugma hiya not heard from you in ages, whats been happening with you? I am nearly fourteen weeks

hi beck and rugama fairy sorry af got you and what a time to be feeling rotten anyway. Hope you're feeling better soon. i did my wii fit this morning and thats another thing thats obviously broken, couldn't believe how much I'd put back on and felt so disappointed in myself (but enjoyed every mouthful lol!)

popsy I don't know enough about progesterone - does the level stay up for a while after you've ov'ed? I can't understand how you can have had such a big follicle come to nothing. Something doesn't seem right. Can you push to have the trigger jab next cycle? What a lot on your plate at the moment, don't forget to take care of yourself.

Hope everyone else is ok, snow is a distant memory here.

beck - I've only had 21 day bloods & no other monitoring!

Fairygodmother1 · 14/01/2010 19:21

Hi ya girls,

Sorry it's taken so long to get on here. Phone calls from Mum, sister & best friend.

We're being put forward for IVF because the cons gave us 3 options - 1-6 months more clomid (although he doesn't understand why it hasn't worked so far as everything seems to be 'normal' now) 2- IUI & pinpointing ovulation, 3- IVF.
He said how desperately did we want a baby & we said very so he said IVF was the way to go.

I'm happy we have more chance at a baby but would have liked more investigations into why it's not happening.

The clomid is to stop which will mean my cycles are back out the window. But I still have 1 more cycle here so gonna start that tomorrow.

Was also sent home early from work today as I was so ill - hot & cold sweats, nausea, runny nose, & I burst into tears in the heads office! I think this bloody cold has become flu-like & it's ganging up on me with af!!!!!!!!

beck we'll all get there soon. My best friend lives in Cumbria & her initial tests were scans to see when she ovulated. She got preg that night! It had taken 5 years!!!!

stac now I'm (sort of) off the clomid i might fall pg naturally like you!

Must say Jo he never mentioned my weight!!!! Although I have put a lot back on over xmas - in my defense I am now on & also my boobs are much bigger than a month ago - mayb e people who want implants should just go on clomid!!!!! DH has really noticed tonight - shame I'm not in the mood he's in as I feel totally rubbish!

Pops my cons said that I couldn't have metformin cos it wouldn't make a mnoticeable effect for me. Could you be ovulating late? Are they gonna check the follicle?

By the end of all this I think we should become cons as our knowledge of this infertility lark is huge!!! We are almost specialists!!!!

Clure we are destined to go through this together obviously. Hope you can get some positive answers on Monday!

Thanks for all your good luck wishes

Hello rugma becky My monitoring has been very hit and miss. Originally i had no monitoring, this time round i have had monitoring until they found the 'right' dose!! Aparently that was 100mg, now i'm not so sure. I have had 9 cycles 8 yrs ago and on 6th cycle with 3 more til thats it. They only started to monitor me again because we kicked up a bit
It just seems to vary from cons to cons!

good luck all

xx

rugama · 14/01/2010 18:54

Hey Stac14,

I see you are pregnant how many months are you.

I am so happy for you.

I have not been here for so long... I have been off treatment,it got to be so hard for me.

Trying for so long and nothing just made me want to take a break.

But, Hopefully soon I will get back into trying.

I wish you the best and hope all of the rest of the ladies are doing great.

So many new peps on here now.

beckylou85 · 14/01/2010 18:52

Hi stac14 and popsy1, thanks for the welcome.
popsy1 the only monitoring I've had while on Clomid is 21day blood tests. I've had no scans to check follicles or anything like that they just checked everything before I started the Clomid. How long are you on the Clomid for? I was told that I can only have it for 6 months, after that its IVF.
Good luck to all ttc xxx

popsy1 · 14/01/2010 18:40

Hi all hope you are all ok. Welcome becky everyone on here is lovely and have all been a great support.

How did you get on fairy?

Well i'm a little confused and f*ed off! I had my progesterone bloods done yesterday (CD29) and called for the results today and they said i haven't ovd! This is my 6th month of clomid, 5th on 100mg, where apparently i was ov'ing. They want me to stay on the same dose and track me again next month. I'm confused as i had a nice big follicle and now nothing! Is it because i am now taking metformin? Is it because they took the bloods so late? Or have i just wasted months of clomid because they weren't monitoring me????
I just hate this not knowing whats going on!! Why is it so bloody hard???

beckylou85 · 13/01/2010 22:57

Hi Fairygodmother1, thanks for the welcome.
I'm ttc#1 too. The gyne put me on Clomid 3 months ago, I went back to see her yesterday and she gave me 3 more months worth of tablets and this time I have to have blood test on day 21 of my next 3 cycles. She told me to go back in 4 months if I haven't got pregnant to discuss my other options. I don't think I could have IUI although I'm not sure why, they've never mentiioned it, only IVF.
I know what you mean about others being pregnant and having babies, they seem to be everywhere. My step daughter wanted a buggie and baby clothes for xmas, I was so broody looking at baby clothes.
The HSG scan isn't really a nice procedure, in all honesty, I nearly passed out with the pain but thats just me. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to being poked down below . I live in South Yorkshire, so they may have different procedures in different places, I had all the tests done before they gave me Clomid.

Hi ya girlies

Thank you for all your good luck messages - My appointment is half 4 so as soon as I'm home I'll get on with the verdict....

Feeling absolutely pants today - my cold is reemerging, can't get warm, having major af cramps. Also beigy discharge & hints of blood when i wipe (sorry for tmi) so think Af will def arrive tomorrow. not gonna test - if the cons wants it then he can do it! Just snapped at DH cos I'm feeling so rubbish.

I'm armed with my questions & suggestions for cons. Hopefully have some answers.

Welcome becky recognise you from one of the other threads. I'm on cycle 5 of clomid. Cons was convinced it would work but hasn't so far. I don't ovulate due to PCOS but apparently clomid is making me ovulate. DH is all clear so god knows how we're missing it!!!! Have you been left to get on with the clomid. Clure & I have had not scans & only initial 21 day bloods. Bit pants really. Seems that the NHS system is random & depends on where you live.

I had until tomorrow to get pg without any extra assistance & it aint happened! Find out tomorrow what the next step is although GP mentioned that cons has decided to send me for IUI.

We all totally feel for you wanting a baby. I'm ttc #1. So fed up of seeing friends, family & work mates fall preg & have babies! Been married now 8 months & people are starting to ask when I'm gonna 'pop some sprogs'. My reply currently is, 'when they arrive' as not many people know what I'm going through!

geez It does settle down! Thats good news tho.

Jo will upload photos once I find the laptop bluetooth adaptor.

Well here's some toffee apple crumble with custard baby dust

Hi, thanks for the support. I'm 24 and I do live in England. My partner and I don't have any children together although his 2 step children do live with us.
I've had scans, blood test and an HSG test (I think HSG is what they call it, its the one where they put fluid inside you to check if your tubes are blocked). My partner has had sperm test and all is clear with him. They found out I don't ovulate that why i'm on the Clomid. I'm thinking about buying a fertility monitor but they are so expensive and we can't really afford it.
I'm trying to keep positive but we've been trying for 4 years and I know it may sound daft but these last 3 months seem so final, as though its my last 3 chances to get pregnant.
Thanks again for the support.

Clure · 13/01/2010 20:32

hi all

beckylou I've just finished cycle 4 of clomid, got 2 more left then it would have to be ivf for me using donor eggs. However I have an appointment on Monday with my consultant to discuss this as like you me and my DH are full of trepidation about the whole thing. I already have a DD who will be 5 in a couple of weeks so i wouldn;t qualify for any nhs funding. I can't really help with advice for costs as I think it really does depend on your clinic. Have you had any tests etc done? Also are you over 35 (sorry not being personal but this does have affect fertility) as Geezette said try to keep positive. This is a very supportive thread

fairy - wishing you luck tomorrow x

jobo hope your DH better soon!!

Fed up of the slushy cold snow now. Have just had a big plate of veggie bangers and mash (yum)

hi stac, popsy, geezette, ven, kiwi, pink

Geezette82 · 13/01/2010 19:36

Sorry meant now not know!! Told you after 7pm I'm rubbish!!

Geezette82 · 13/01/2010 19:35

Hi becky If your in living in England you know get three cycles of IVF on the NHS. As long as you and your partner do not have children together you should qualify for this. Thats what I was told by my FN anyway. Good luck. Keep positive!!

beckylou85 · 13/01/2010 19:00

Hi all, i've been on clomid now for 3 months, i've started spotting today so think AF is here. I'm really upset because now I've only got 3 months left to get pregnant, the thought of not getting pregnant in the next 3 months scares me. I really want a baby. The only option after this is IVF but I know its expensive. Anyone else in the same position? Does anyone know how much IVF costs?

Hi all. Hope everyone is okay today. Didn't manage to get near the computer yesterday as DH was doing his 'homework'!

Clomid symptoms have settled down quite well. Just some hot flushes during the day otherwise all gone. I have carried on taking them in the morning, as I was worried I would forget them at night - after about 7pm I am absolutely useless!!

Stac had lots of snow here again this afternoon and they say it gonna keep snowing during the night! I've had enough of it now!!

Babydust xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

jobobpip08 · 13/01/2010 17:36

pink
I have brown blood at the end of AF and I have been 'spring-cleaned' and no problems found, I think its very normal.

I'm on CD 7 and DH is off with a chest infection, coughing his guts up, so pumping him full of echinacea in the hopes it will make him feel like 'it' soon

fairy we have GOT to see the igloo

stac lucky you new kitchen and bathroom! Great to get it all done now. We've done houses up for 9 years in the past and now we've finished its great - no dust! Apart from new dust, which is rather annoying {hmm}. Never used to bother with dusting before, there was no point!

clure had to laugh at your wee-in-a-bag! Had visions of those stupid carriers with the little safety holes in! {grin}

We were back to school on Monday, could pick up 15 mins early on Tuesday as we had sleety snow and today has been lovely sunshine(sorry, but it has, actually I'm not sorry lol) and 8C, so I've been in doing reading with DS's class.

toasty babydustxxx

stac14 · 13/01/2010 17:27

Stac ooh a new bathroom how exciting (well when it's finished it will be). Well hopefully the diet will make me feel better. I'm not big i'm a size 12 and need to get back to being a 10 so here goes. Fat club tonight (as i call it) otherwise known as Weight Watchers.

Venetia A new job, now that must be exciting and allows you to concentrate temporarily on something else?!?!?!?!

So baby dust here we go * Mmmmm so must start getting interested in sex again as on cd8 today and need to get DH interested again without thinking i'm just doing it for a baby which of course i wouldn't be would i????? Ha ha...

Anyway must end on this because i'm desperate to see it in someones message x

Venetia2 · 12/01/2010 21:13

Am an idiot! Fairy can you post a picture of the igloo, seeing as you built it-brain not working so well this evening....

Venetia2 · 12/01/2010 21:11

Hi all,

Last few days at current job so spending all my time saying goodbye, so sad, as I really like it there but need to move on.

pink I have brown at the end of AF too, and I don't have endometriosis-seem to have had every bloody test known to man so am sure they would have found it if I did!

stac I have every sympathy with the house stuff, we had a lot of building work done about 6 months ago-there were times when had to go out and sit in a cafe because I was so outnumbered by builders with awful taste in music, bt at least we can live in the house and have heating this winter, so can't complain!

Clure can you post a picture of the igloo-I'd love to see it?

Fairy either way everyone here is there for you, hope the appointment goes your way.

popsy no prizes for guesing what we are having at the weekend-I am going to make the cheesecake, will let you know how I manage (my cooking can be a bit hit and miss!)

Chocolatey baby dust
