DH and I want to have a second child next year and although I know that there are lots of contributing factors that affect conception I just wondered what your experiences were in terms of comparing first with subsequent pregnancies.

[With DS we were lucky enough to get pregnant the second month of trying.]

Thanks.

You'll wish you hadn't asked!
Dd - 4 months of trying
2nd pg - 2 years (I'm now 19wks pg)

It was put down to unexplained infertilty as neither of us had anything obvious 'wrong' physically. I put it down to being 3 years older, and plain bad luck. We ideally wanted a gap between no1 and no2 of at least 3 years but something made us started trying when dd was 15m old. I'm very glad we did! Dd will be just 4 when no2 is born.

But remember, everyone is completely different.
Good luck!
