Joolsiam do you count a "show" as the first day of your period or do you wait until the arrival of AF? I tend not to count it but am starting to think I should.

Has anyone used an ovulation predictor kit? Do they work and are they any good? They seem to be expensive and I'm just wondering if they are worth it. Congratulations Pigleychez and Guccigaga!

Joolsiam · 06/09/2009 11:30

Wow, wow, wow - congratulations to Kaylo, Pigleychez and Guccigagga Now you have another long wait - I used to call it the 12 week wait . Lots of sticky thoughts winging your way

VanloadtoVenice - I'm almost 40 and TTC#1 -seem to be able to conceive OK, but just can't keep hold of them I've done extensive research though and 40 does not = geriatric mummy

30ish - I'm the same - get a "show" around 48 hours before AF is due, so have time to come to terms with it before she arrives. Equally, I get prompted to test early when I don't see that - a silver lining

Well I'm not due for another 8 days. Any symptoms I thought I'd spotted have gone away, however hard I try to imagine some. However, 6DPO is still pretty early, so I haven't given up yet - I seem to remember getting unmistakable symptoms (fizzy, hot nipples and poking pain in the belly button) at 8DPO more or less this time last year, so won't lose hope for a few more days.

pigleychez · 06/09/2009 09:39

Kaylo...

Im probably pop over soon. It doesnt seem real yet either!

How old are your DC? My DD is 13mths old.

Kaylo · 06/09/2009 09:34

Ooooh, Pigleychez 3 BFP's in 2 days - lets hope the good luck keeps spreading.

My BFP hasn't hit me at all yet - My DH also thinks he has supersperm

Are you joining the Due May thread? I haven't skipped over yet and think I may leave it a couple of weeks - give things chance to sink in!

30ish Keep the faith, you never know...

pigleychez · 06/09/2009 09:21

Firstly Congratulations to guccigagga and Kaylo.

vanloadtovenice- welcome and good luck

30ish- dont feel down. Its not over till the red lady sings!

Well I too would like to join the BFP's in celebrating.
Quite suprised at falling pregnant on the first month of trying. DH now thinks he has supersperm! Its suddenly hitting me that ill soon have 2 babys to look after!!

30ish · 06/09/2009 08:29

I must have such an overactive imagination - had a show today which normally heralds the start of AF four days later Never mind - perhaps next month will be our turn! So sad though as we got pregnant with our DD the first month of trying! We've left a gap (DD is nearly 3) as we assumed (how stupid) that we would get pregnant straight away again Oh well, back to the drawing board and fourth month of trying! Congratulations to Kayloe and all the other BFPs

Kaylo · 06/09/2009 06:36

Sorry how rude of me!

Welcome vanloadtovenice (fantastic name!!)

I'm passing my store of babydust over to this thread so feel free to take some

xxxxxx

Kaylo · 06/09/2009 06:31

BFP

Goodness me!!!

Tested this morning (at 5:30am as I woke up with period style cramps) CB conception indicator told me it's a BFP 1-2wks.

Still a bit disbelieving as was only my first cycle of TTC#3. I keep checking the test making sure I haven't misread it!!

Good Luck to everyone else on here, I'm off to join Guccigagga on the May bus now I think.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

vanloadtovenice · 05/09/2009 22:43

Hello, new to thread. TTC #3. No luck this month. Bit sad, as happened straight away when I was YOUNGER!. Even did those ovulation sticks - nothing. Have left a huge gap since dd2 anyway, as have horrid sickness with pregnancies and knew wouldn't cope. Now am worried that have made huge mistake, and will take ages, leading to even more massive gap and ancient mummy.

Babydust to us all, please

guccigagga · 05/09/2009 21:36

Thanks kaylo
Wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow xxx

Kaylo · 05/09/2009 18:00

Hi Guccigagga

I haven't really spoken to you on here but would like to say CONGRATULATIONS Sending sticky vibes your way - hope to be joining you soon!!

xxxxx

Nothing to report here really, I'm considering testing tomorrow with a CB, I have 3 plus a truckload of eBay cheapy dippy tests, the Ebay ones wont work that early so CB it will have to be.
My symptoms - I use the work loosely as I'm convinced it could all be in my head as part of a wishful thinking tactic I'm using

I'll let you know

TTFN xxxx

guccigagga · 05/09/2009 15:54

Hi every one, took a test this morning and BFP
Relieved the symptoms weren't all in my head, was beginning to doubt my sanity!
Sending lots and lots of babydust to you all and hope to see you on the may bus

Snowbunny

Goodwood was fab thanks! DH loved driving all the cars. Got quite as I wouldnt of minded a go in some of them too! Yeah thankfully we were lucky with the weather although it was incredibly blowy, especially up in the stands watching him whizz past. DD enjoyed the car nosies and liked catching the wind with her tongue!

Debating wether to test tomorrow or not. Im really not sure if its worth a test or not. My symptoms have appeared to have died down abit now. Still have the backache and achiness. Boobs are stil a litte heavy but seem more prominent iykwim! mmm See how I feel in the morning I suppose.

SnowBunny1 · 05/09/2009 06:59

Pigleychez

How was goodwood? I live about 20 minutes from there. Did your DH enjoy himself, the weather was great yesterday.

How funny that you could be pg already and the inlaws think you shouldn't. Maybe they're trying reverse psycology, thats what mine would do.

looking forward to news from the testers this weekend

mousemole · 04/09/2009 23:03

Hi all not much to report here.just come to bridlington for a good friends wedding so am going to forget about everything for a couple of days and have some fun! Babydust to everyone x

pigleychez · 04/09/2009 20:51

not much to report here,

Had a fun day out at Goodwood curcuit as DH was doing a racing day driving various fast cars. Was nice to not actually think about ttc for a change!

In the car on the way their with the Inlaws something came up about babies. Anyway MIL pipes up saying "oh well you dont want another one yet... Not yet." She doesnt know we are ttc 2! Oh well, tough as its not her choice. DH and I gave each other gave each other a knowing look as I could even be already!!

Plan to test Sunday- Fingers crossed!

SnowBunny1 · 04/09/2009 20:12

Hi all

Just checking in

Nothing to report here, but then there never is. Last cycle I felt sick and was even retching in the loo, had cramps, loss of appetite, funny taste in the mouth and what did I get BFN

this cycle, nothing. Maybe thats a good sign or a sign for BFN

I hate the 2ww AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH

Good luck to everyone else by the way

xx

Loujalou · 04/09/2009 18:52

Mmmm... It feels funny in my tummy but that could be completely in my head. Also that feels better now I am sat down. Am tired today though. But looking after a toddler does that to you. Nausea has gone and things taste normal.

There was something else but I have forgotten what it was. Oh yes have had this feeling of being wet below but when I check not that wet. TMI! But lots of CM today. Those who record CM what happens to CM if you conceive compared to just a normal cycle?

Should be getting some spotting Sunday morning if period is coming and it will start Tuesday.

Spirael · 04/09/2009 17:14

Hi all, can I join in the waiting? I reckon I'm currently half way through my 2WW, as I'm pretty sure I ovulated last weekend by the temp checking and CM watching I've been religiously doing every morning. DTD over the appropriate time frame, so now it's just down to waiting and seeing, I guess.

Sadly, I've not had anything that could really be classed as a symptom thus far. No excessive tiredness, no hunger or nausea, no smell sensitivty, no breast tenderness, etc. The only thing I could possibly attribute would be a stitch-like pain towards my left side a couple of days ago, that came on during rest and irritated me for a couple of hours. But I'm not sure whether that means anything other than I shouldn't curl myself up in the armchair instead of sitting properly!

So yeah... I'm mostly thinking I've failed again this month, which is a bit of a bummer. Especially as my friends and workmates keep announcing their new accidental or first time trying pregnancies! Ah well... I guess I'll just have to keep trying. AF should be due in a week or so, then I'll get back to the calendar for penciling out when I need DH on duty!

Kaylo · 04/09/2009 16:51

Yep - am defnitely gonna wait, in theory.

well intentions are good anyhow

mousemole · 04/09/2009 09:34

kaylo, wait a couple of days - I think they say it works up to 5 days from when your period is late so that means 4 days from when your period is due. So easy to say wait though isn't it. I feel like this month isn't my month. I have 3 random symptoms - afternoon headaches ( could be a bug), weeing a lot, and pulling feeling in tummy ( wind probably ).Curlycasper - I am like you, I don't get any PMT symptoms or AF signs until 2 hrs before.
Curly - I am feeling ahem 'damp' down there too. Not sure if that is good or bad. No creamy cm for me, just watery.
Off to wedding this weekend, think I will have lots of bubbly !

OP posts:
Kaylo · 04/09/2009 08:12

6days until testing day - can't believe how the days seem to take forever to dwindle. wanna test now dammit - how accurate are first response. apparently they can tell you 6days before AF?

Or I could be sensible and wait.

Curly so pleased I 'recognize' someone from before the rollercaster

CurlyCasper · 03/09/2009 22:20

kaylo we did our sums again, and decided to start trying sooner It would have been end of this month otherwise (think the others were all Xmas)

mouse symptom free isn't fun. Is is sad that I want to be obsessive? I never had much in the way of period signs anyway - other than pain in the 12 hours before the waves came ashore!

I'm always hungry, always tired and always peeing - nothing new! pigley is increased CM after Ov a sign of PG? [hopeful emoticon]

Busy trying to get new PDA working - tells me MN is controlled content for over 18s only, so back on the laptop...

pigleychez · 03/09/2009 20:38

I now have another couple of things to add to my list :

Hunger pains- by 12 by stomach is growling and rumbling away! Same as with DD.

This afternoon a return of CM and feeling Damp downstairs (tmi)

DH and I have agreed we will wait to test on Sunday.. Excited but also nervous!

Kaylo · 03/09/2009 16:10

Fanjolina this was our first month TTC #3 also

I am getting loads of abdomy achy feelings and they feel really uncomfortable a bit like period pains but lower - am trying not to be too hopeful as it could come crashing down horribly on me but who knows.....?
