Ok Ladies... new thread, since the old one was getting too long and dragging my computer (and Kat's) down with it!

MrsD - cant believe you are 30 weeks already! So you found that cutting out the lactose helps? It will be almost a week for me and I have noticed some improvement, but not a lot. Of course, he is still getting a milk-based formula supplement to the BFing. I am going to switch to a soy formula and see if it makes a difference as well. Until then... God give me strength!!! LOL

Oh my loopy! What an extraordinary rollercoaster this pregnancy has been! Can you translate what a haematoma is?

I imagine you are still feeling nervous about the whole thing. Everything crossed that next scan shows things thriving...will be thinking of you.

Loopy,I've been induced twice. Ds1 ws induce at 38 weeks (high bp, big baby and he had kidney issues so they wanted him out). I had one lot of gel (it was gel back then lol) and my waters popped on their own after I refused a second lot of gel, 3hours 45 mins later baby arrived. A few mins of pushing.
Second baby I was pushed over in a school playground and my pelvis crunched, 2 days of slow labour and then it kicked off after a sweep 3hours 45mins labour.
3rd baby I was induced at 41+1 with a tablet, my cervix was not favourable and had to be pulled down (OMG owww). 5 hours later the pains kicked in (it always takes about 5 hours to work) then pains began and she was out within an hour and a half.
Induction works well for me but I'm scared!!!!!!!!! I don't want to be examined next week.....I would like to be left alone to go on my own. I'm just trying to figure out if I have the nerve to hold it out and get monitored or if I cave for induction???!!!!!???????

Arghhhhhhhhh! Part of me says take the induction, I know it works and baby will be born in a controlled environment (I need syntocin to prevent pph after ds2). But allowing someone to put me in pain seems bonkers, why would I want to do that lol!

Everyone else seems to go into labour after sex or a long walk but no not me lol.

Induction really isn't that bad if it works for you but it is blooming daunting.xx

Kat...no not RA, massive hugs, it sounds like you have been in significant pain (((((((hugs))))))))).

Hatty, I found the first two weeks of the school holidays hell on earth but then we all adjusted into routines and it was fine. I hope you get that bfp soon! xx

4madboys · 09/09/2010 13:34

HI LOOPY, just popping onto this thread to wish you luck with you scan, hope all is well and it continues to do so, we miss you on the nov thread :( lots of love xxxx

KatnKankles · 09/09/2010 13:15

Loopy, I never felt particularly pregnant with Ava until about 8 weeks when the nausea kicked in, even then it wasn't that bad.

Went for my blood tests yesterday and have an appt with my GP to get the results next Weds. If it is RA there are some pretty good (but strong) things I can take. Not sure how feel about it to be honest but I'll cross the bridge if and when I have to.

I've been watching the Big school lottery too. My DS is in year 10 at the local secondary, it's not a particularly good school but he enjoys it and is doing really well, it has been the making of him in terms of confidence.
My DD1 is in year 8 and she goes to a private girls school, she is also very happy there, I'm not sure she would have settled in the comp - she's a singing/dancing luvvie and was bullied a bit for it at her state primary. So when she was offered a 50% scholorship at the girls school we went for it and she is doing amazingly well.

Good luck for the scan loopy, hoping for good news.

Means no POAS... too scared but not feeling at all preggo so I'm sure I'm fine .

Can't believe you'll meet your little bubba in less than 2 weeks!! So exciting, hope the birth goes well. Ava's birth was perfect, very quick, very painful but perfect :) That feeling you get when the baby arrives and all the pain stops is worth every second of the pregnancy and labour. It's just amazing. Gah I'm getting all broody again lol.

I swear if I never had to be pregnant I would just keep going but the mere thought of being pregnant (well the last 3 months) is enough to put me off for life. If I was preggo I'd be devastated, not because of the baby (that part I'd be happy about) but the thought of being housebound and unable to walk with Ava to look after is not worth thinking about.... shudder...
4 children is absolutely perfect for me and although I don't think I'll ever lose the maternal urge I'm pretty sure I'm done.

Getting the implant was absolutely fine. The local stings a bit but after that I didn't feel a thing and it was over in minutes. I had a bit of bruising for a week or so but it didnt hurt, just looked a bit nasty.

I'm currently being tested for Rheumatoid arthritis as my joint pain and mobility is pretty terrible at the minute.... I've always had dodgy knees but some days I can't carry the baby downstairs and my hands are so painful I can't even lift the kettle or hold a cuppa :(

Hoping it's not RA but the dr seems pretty sure and I can't think what else it could be... on the positive side I'll get a disabled parking sticker Hmm.

xxxx

Means, I know what you mean - I do miss my girls while they are at school but life is an awful lot easier! I would be coming up for a summer holiday birth if I got a BFP this month - the thought of having all 4 at home does make me a leetle nervous!

Loopsy loads and loads of luck for the scan. Will be thinking of you. D&V is so grim, hope you are all better now :)

Meanbeansmum · 08/09/2010 18:07

Kat!!! EEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk! I'd say it was probably the implant but how have you not POAS yet? How was it having the implant fitted?
Ava sounds so gorgeous, I can't wait to meet my baby. I still can't believe I have one on board, despite the obvious appearance lol!

Loopy, good luck for the scan and I hope the D&V goes away soon.x

Hatty, my life is calmer now my 2 boys are back in school lol!

Thanks girls this is really really reassuring, and it's so kind of you with so many kids to look after to take the time to write such lovely posts in answer to my wibbling and wobbling!

Means - 19 days not long at all! How exciting!

Kat, Ava sounds so gorgeous. If you were pg again, how would you feel - would it be no 5?!

Back to school for our twins today who've just started year 1. Saw several mums who were just starting their 4th and final child off in reception - lots of tears at the playground gates from the mums, the kids seemed fine!

I felt a bit wobbly too and mine have done a year! Had a real urge to carry on and have another one - it will all go so quickly won't it now they're at school.

So fingers crossed for this month. Looby how are you feeling? Are yours at school, the older girls?

KatnKankles · 05/09/2010 21:24

Hiya!
Loopy! Really pleased for you congratulations!
Means.. Aghhhh 19 days!! So excited for you! Are you feeling ok?

Ava is amazing still. I love her so much I could snuggle her all day! She has the most gorgeous smile and she 'chatters' away to me when I talk to her. Grin.

Had a contraceptive implant put in 2 weeks ago. It was 6 days before AF was due and we hadn't been 100% careful. Anyway, AF was due last Tuesday and like clockwork it started but it was literally 2 wipes of bleeding and nothing since?? Now... should I be concerned or could it be the implant working on stopping my af already.. after 6 days?? I thought it took months for your af to stop? It did with my mirena anyway.

Grr rambling, don't really know who to ask but you;re a knowledgable bunch :)

Hatty, my boys often remind me how they wish they never had a mother! :-? Life must be really hard when you're a kid and you have to follow the rules for the sake of others! rolls eyes.

I think we all just do our best, big families are always going to be crazy but the rewards outweigh the hardtimes.

Now what I really really really need is a cleaner! It would solve all my problems, I'd have time to be a better mother whose less stressed.

I'll let you know how I find having 4, I'm aboutto find out in 19 days, being inducedcat term blood pressure is playing up and consultant wants to avoid previous pph risk. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

Loopy, how are you?

Kat, how's Ava doing?

Am having wobbles about ttcing no 4. From two recent experiences. Firstly going on holiday with all three existing DC (twins just turned 5 and 20 month old). Was just so stressful having three so young, not settling, having to get the youngest to nap etc.

Then having horrendous tummy bug last week - have rarely been so ill in my life and can only compare it to when we travelled in Africa and were refused onto the plane to fly home as we were so ill!

That was pre-DC so at least back then we only had ourselves to look after, but coping this time with being ill and having no family nearby to help was just dreadful. I had to get DD3's childminder to come and pick them all up and pay her for the day for all, which we can ill afford. DH was very worried but is self-employed and had a massively important day which we were relying on for ££. Couldn't face asking a friend as I was so infectious I think it would not have been fair -plus most of our friends round here have 3 or 4 kids already so they'd have been landed with 7 for the day!

I wondered how on earth I would cope with another DC as well.

I also worry that I am not a "natural" mum. I can do older toddlers/small children fine -but I struggle so much with the baby/pre-talking stage. If they all came out aged 2 I would be just fine.

I think you all sound much more go-with-the-flow, calm, centered people compared to me and perhaps that's what you need to be a mother of 4!

Do you all have help? I wonder if we could stretch to a mother's help for some of the week? I would love to have my mum nearby but she's 5 hours away by car and in-laws are nearby but very old and frail and can't be much help. Would so love another child but not sure I have the energy or mental resources. Still feeling wobbly from this bug so probably not the right time to think about these things! I don't think I could have another gap, I think if we are going to do it we should do it soon and get on with it.

Sorry for long wobble. Will go and be miserable somewhere else! I still long for another child and SIL is ttcing for no 4 at the moment and I know I will want one so much when I see hers - but they have full-time help..

Loopy, intrigued to know how you managed to ttc whilst camping! Or was that a different month?
