Ok Ladies... new thread, since the old one was getting too long and dragging my computer (and Kat's) down with it!

MrsD - cant believe you are 30 weeks already! So you found that cutting out the lactose helps? It will be almost a week for me and I have noticed some improvement, but not a lot. Of course, he is still getting a milk-based formula supplement to the BFing. I am going to switch to a soy formula and see if it makes a difference as well. Until then... God give me strength!!! LOL

I am BF but not exclusively. My first two were mostly FF. I have a very low milk supply (which no one recognized). So with DD1 I lasted about 6 weeks until I couldnt handle her screams any longer and awitched to the bottle (plus her latch was all wrong). With DS1 I did mixed feeding until he was 3 months and quit (he was slow and ALWAYS on the boob). With DD2 I was more determined. I ended up with much more BF support, figured out the problem, went on Domperidone to boost my supply at about 3 months in, and by 4 months she was exclusively BF. I went 10 months with her! With DS2 I started the Domperidone at 3 weeks and mostly BF him now. He gets a bottle of formula or breast milk when I am too tired at night or when I am out and cant BF. I love the closeness, so I am gonna try to go the full year. Once I am back to work, I will let myself dry up (once I stop the pills that only takes a week).

Phew... long post!

Am spending the day doing my Christmas baking. Then have a baby shower to go to tomorrow. Plus Christmas pics at the photo studio. Busy weekend! I KNOW I will come home from the shower broody! LOL

katnkittens · 11/12/2009 23:04

Ahh babyblue... the fitness makes sense now.. all the police officers I know are really fit.

My Mum and my brother are really fit and go running together - makes me sick that my mother has a better figure at 54 than I do at 30!
But as she reminds me, she had 3 young kids at 30 and was very similar to me - she has lots of time now that I don't have.

My boobs don't bother me, I am tall and broad many people have said 'amazonian' lol so I don't look particularly big chested as they suit my frame. The reason I had them done in the first place is because I looked so strange being my size with no chest. People are always really shocked when I tell them my boobs are fake haha.

My friend is 5' and her boobs are mahoooosive! She's the same bra size as me but she just looks all boobs and has all sorts of problems.

How did we start talking about boobies? I'm hoping to breast feed this one anyway, I bf all the others, I never lasted longer exclusively bf than 6 weeks but that was fine with me.
I enjoy the closeness during the early weeks but I also find it restricting and have never once been able to express more than an oz of milk so I always end up mixed feeding for a few weeks too until my milk dries up.

Did you say you were bfing babblue?

Meanbeansmum · 11/12/2009 19:31

BB well done on the weight loss that's amazing!!!! BB fab job. You will get back into your uniform.xxx

Kat lol, I'm a 38 E FF when boobie feeding lol. I love my big boobs!!!! I was a DD when skinny (well as skinny as I've ever been lol). I've been an E since I was 19/20, they've never gone back lol.

IllHaveABABYBLUEChristmas · 11/12/2009 15:17

Kat - Sorry... had to giggle about your DCs screaming and laughing at their naked mum!

You must have some terrible back and shoulder aches with boobies of that size. Me... I am enjoying having cleavage right now, because when I am not preggo/nursing, I am one step up from a pea on a board! LOL. I am a 36A! I come from a long line of flat chested women!! Hehehe!

As for the gym, they are quite popular here. The one I go to is women only, and is in the grocery store where I shop. Very convenient! I hired a personal trainer because she makes the workout more interesting. Besides having someone to talk to while I work out, it motivates me to go when I am paying good $$ for it! Anyway... I am very motivated to lose the weight. I am tired of wearing maternity and fat clothes. In 2010 I will be having my 20th high school reunion so I need to look FAB and not FAT! And lastly, when I go back to work I want to make sure I fit back into my uniform and don't need to go up a size, since that would be a real pain to have to refit everything! Not sure if I ever mentioned this, but I am a police officer, so I have to stay in shape and be fit (hence all the running!).

Urgh! We got our first snowfall and winter storm the other day. And last it went down to -15 degrees! I hate winter!

katnkittens · 11/12/2009 01:07

Awww shucks meanbeans... nice of you to say but I am a bit chubby without clothes although I look ok with them on. I walked into the bedroom tonight naked to get some PJ's and 6 year old dd started screaming and laughing...
I was most offended!!!

I am getting HUGE boobs though - I had a boob job 10 years ago (mad 20 year old urge) so they were a 34D and are now something stupid since my 36E bras don't fit..........

Plus my stomach is MASSIVE - I cant remember being this big in any of my other pregnancies... God I just know this weight is gonna be hard to shift

Am very impressed with you bb. I read something about a trainer on FB? The closest I come to a gym is the foot stepper gathering dust under the bed... I need some of your mojo!

And meanbeans, wait until you have the next bubs before trying to lose weight.... plus it's Christmas!

IllHaveABABYBLUEChristmas · 10/12/2009 16:41

Means - congrats on your weight loss!!! I too have reason to celebrate! I stepped on the scale yesterday and have reached my goal weight for January 1st a bit early!! Yippee!! I now have 6lbs to lose to reach my pre-pregnancy (DD2) weight, and then another 12lbs to be where I used to be at (I got preg with DD2 after Christmas and had packed on nearly a stone pigging out!!). 18lbs in all isnt so bad as long as I dont overdo it this holiday!!! Am very chuffed at the moment!!! LOL

Meanbeansmum · 09/12/2009 18:19

I haven't bee a size 12 since well when I was 12 pmpl! I'm 5ft 9" and I do have chunky bones (my wrist bones are twice the size of my mothers who by the way is a size 10/12). I'm like my dad, he's big boned lol......god that sounds like such an excuse for being fat lol! I need to lose about 5-6 stone to get back to the weight I was when I met dh. . It seems like such a mountain. I carry pregnancies well at my weight just I'd like to be les weeble like when pregnant next time lol!

Kat at your height no way do you have any chubbiness...it's called skin lol!!! /my best friend is 7 stone and she's always trying to tone up as she wobbles in her thighs when she walks,,,,I always remind her it's just skin lol!

BB, maybe next month if dh has his wicked way lol. I'm thinking more like march time!

katnkittens · 09/12/2009 00:42

Oh and 100% this is my last baby!! DH is booking himself in for the snip as soon as I give birth!

katnkittens · 09/12/2009 00:40

That's reassuring bb, I know it's normal and everything but I was getting proper kicks by 17 weeks last time so it's just something else to stress about! I know everything is fine as I had my scan last week but I still worry about absolutely everything in pregnancy!

Well done on getting into size 12! I was super skinny after I had the first 2 (probably because I was still a teenager!) but after I had Lily when I was 23 I never quite got back to normal.

I WILL get fit this time!!!!

IllHaveABABYBLUEChristmas · 08/12/2009 17:52

Kat, I also had the anterior placenta with Marco, and what a difference it made when feeling for movement. I didn't feel any proper kicks til almost 20 weeks... only squirms and rolls. I also had the extra padding left from DD2, so I know what you mean. So this will be your last DC as well?? Now that I am getting my shape back slowly (was finally able to get into a size 12 last week and I'm only 5'6"), I do not want to ruin it with another pregnancy! The only time I really get any twinge of broodiness is when I am around friends who are pg.

Means - so whens the official TTC start date??

katnkittens · 07/12/2009 23:40

Hi,
I'm here

Nearly 18 weeks, got my official 20 week scan on the 17th which I'm excited and scared about!

Means - Yey on being allowed to ttc. I'm a bit of a lard arse atm. I'm the biggest I've ever been, I'm 6ft and a size 16, but I figure this is my last baby so after this one I'll diet and exercise like crazy/ beg DH for liposuction....

I'm feeling squirmy movement but I was feeling proper kicks by this stage last time. The babybond scan people told me I have an anetrior placenta so it's probably that and the extra ahem padding...

Means - thats too funny! I am just the opposite. Put on 35lbs with each DD and only about 25lbs for the 2 DSs! But good luck in the weight loss. I know its not easy. Been trying to watch what I eat, but around this time of the year, there are too many temptations. And my DH helps to sabbotage me by offering me biscuits and the like!!!

So how are the preggos doing?? Scorps, you are getting really close!!! You must be starting to play the 'is that contraction for real' game!!

How about you Kat?? How are you feeling?

Where is everyone else these days??? This thread has never been this quiet!

Meanbeansmum · 06/12/2009 11:50

naughties*

Meanbeansmum · 06/12/2009 11:49

Babyblue, you are naughty lol! In theory I agree but I have so much weight to lose I thought maybe losing a few stone then watching my weight while pg would be a good idea. I don't put on weight with girl babies but the pounds pile on when I'm pregnant with boys lol.

I'm on cd 10, saw ewcm on cd 9 which is wayyyy to early for me...gearing up to ovulate...avoiding in theory but we did have naufghties again last night...whoops. Back on the folic acid too ready fr next year. ;)o

WOW Means!!! Thats really good news! I wouldn't be too worried about weight however... especially if you are going to TTC again. Seems like an awful lot of work to lose the weight, only to put it back on again with the next DC. Why not just watch during your pregnancy and worry about it later?? Sorry... I guess I'm not being a very supportive virtual friend ... I'm just being a lazy cow! LOL

mrsdisorganised · 04/12/2009 10:45

Thats brilliant Means! Don't beat yourself up about weight, sounds like you are well on the way already, and you have a good incentive too....I think I'm just going to aim to get fit and use portion control, have a history with going off the rails if I start using the term 'diet', horrible word anyway Anyway have my fingers crossed for you!

Scorps, hope you're feeling ok. I'm excited for you

Waves to everyone!!!

Meanbeansmum · 04/12/2009 10:03

Hi, it's so quiet in here!!!!!!

Spoke to my consultant yesterday......he said it's ok for me to start ttc again....he said there were no bulges in my tubes and technically the pg could have been anywhere as it was a pg of unknown location. HE said I need to start taking folic acid and vitamins and we can try again.............

WOW...but......I need to lose some weight, I've put on all the weight I lost previous to this pregnancy and I have a whole lot more to lose. A pg would be much easier if I can shift some of my lard arse! So I'm joining the gym next week and I'm already on a healthy eating plan....I lost 2lbs in 4 days last week, not reweighing until next thursday. So ttc in maybe march/april....se how much I can lose in a few months.

Enough about me how is everyone else?

Scorps · 30/11/2009 15:55

Kat a dd3, how lovely and special

I still can't believe i will have 2 of each, in that order and everything

Means - your time will come

mrs - i do take my hat off to you with 5. I know that i won't have a fifth - because of when DH cheated i'm never going to feel stuck or vulnerable like that again - I think if i wasn't pregnant i very well may have left him tbh. I am very mad that that is the decision, but its mine and i have made it (iyswim).

Meanbeansmum · 30/11/2009 13:20

Kat!!! YAY!!!!! Huge congratulations, you must be so chuffed! Enjoy the pregnancy. So now you can start thinking about names!!!! I remember finding out at 16 weeks that DD was a girl, I floated around for at least a week!

Mrsd, 4 sisters, he's a lucky little man, he will always get so much fuss!

I'm soooooooo broody!!!! It's so cruel having to wait to ttc and even when I can I will be scared to death that something will go wrong/be wrong. So much to do in the meanwhile anyway just a bit grrrr that I'm on hold lol.

Hope everyone is well.

mrsdisorganised · 29/11/2009 20:01

Exciting news Kat, hope evrything continues well for you! x

Welcome Keawyd and lots of luck and babydust to you!!

Scorps hope you're doing ok, not long to go, usually the hardest time though so I hope you are being looked after. x

Well ds is settling into our mad family well and his 4 sisters think he's the 'bee knees' and I needn't have worried about the lack of boy clothes as I have been given lots of second hand clothes which is excellent!
Really enjoying him and I'm pleased that there is no jealousy.....wonder how long that will last!

Hello to everyone else and hope you're all ok.

babyblue3 · 29/11/2009 14:38

Congrats Kat!!!!! What a lovely blessing. I'm sure your DS would have loved a boy, but now your 6 year old will have a sister to play with. Very nice family you will have!!! Now you just have to make it through the next 6 months!! LOL... better you than me!

It's a GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

Had my gender scan today
Justto remind you I have DS 13, dd1 11 and dd2 6.
Aghhhhhhhhhh can't believe Im having a dd3.

DS is devastated lol but he'll get over it. I'm delighted but would have been with either sex.
