I know how you feel, HumphreysCorner I opted to let things happen naturally but changed my mind two days later and had an ERPC. The ladies at the epu were really good about my indecision so you can still change your mind. It's a misrable time, I work at home and am sending out invoices today. I am inputting things from when everything was ok, and keep thinking about how happy I was But on the up side we can all down loads of green tea to get super fetile then try again asap

Diddle · 03/06/2005 13:31

humphreyscorner - Its horrible when tha sort of thing happens isn't it. a few weeks after my 1t m/c i had a scan appointment come through for my 12 wk scan, from the same hospital that i went to when i started losing it. That really upset me, i had maternity clothes come too, but i've kept them ready, they were a bit summery but i'm always hot so wearing short sleeved tops in winter woouldn't bother me. I also had a baby catalogue in with a parcel from boots, where i had only ordered some hair straighteners. Feels like they're rubbing your nose in it doesn't it?
You make the most of the nice weather while you can, it keeps raining here in the midlands, then bright sun then more rain.
Look after yourself and don't worry your body will get itself back to normal soon.

HumphreysCorner · 03/06/2005 13:21

Thanks Diddle

It's all the other little things that are upsetting like Mothercare ringing up with a marketing call on the afternooon after the scan, not their fault I know. Also, some maternity clothes I ordered arrived the same day so I will have to return them as they are summer ones. I also have to return my maternity exemption cert. Looking on the bright side though, I have just ordered some v early pregnancy testing strips off E-Bay so I can test for when my HCG levels drop and then see if they have risen. I am more desperate than ever to have a baby to proove that my body will carry one safely. When we started TTC#2 we said if it happens it happens-well, how differently I feel now. Heaven knows when my body will be ready to try again, I am already fed up with the bleeding and labour type pains. Perhaps I should have opted for the tablets or D&C. Bit of an essay I know so as DD is at mum & dad's for the day I'm off to sit outside before it rains.x

expressmummy · 03/06/2005 13:12

Thanks Diddle.

Green tea on its own doesnt taste the best. But you can get it mixed with other flavours such as mint, also Twinnings do Green tea with fruit flavours such apple pear etc. I have been drinking it everyday since the beginging of my detox.
I always sweeten it with a bit of honey, makes it more bearable. Apparently you only have to drink half a cup a day for it to have its benefical effect.

Diddle · 03/06/2005 12:30

Cori - so good to see you back on here, i was only thinking about you this morning, was going to cat you but you have beaten me to it. Very pleased to hear AF has come, you're one step closer to trying again, and it will flush out your system. Sorry to hear you've not bee too good, i bet the infection has knocked you about a bit

Humphreyscorner - welcome to our thread, so sorry to hear you have been through the same upsetting horrors that we have. life is so unfair.
Everyone here is a great support, and we're all here to listen if you want to share anything.

Yuck to the green tea idea. i bet it tastes like seaweed. I might have it as a last resort, has anyone tried it??

Hope everyone is feeling ok this afternoon, and getting through another day.

I know, I spent ages reading before joining and I still hop about reading different threads. Nice not to feel alone. I didn't tell many friends so it's good to have somewhere to talk about it.

HumphreysCorner · 03/06/2005 12:05

Thank you Strike1, I am sorry to hear your news too. Talking to my friends over these past few days it would seem MC's are occurring far too often!

I have to say how I have felt support from the mumsnet threads since Jan even though I wasn't posting. I have joined now as I feel it will help me even more. My DH thinks I'm mad the amount of time I spend reading various threads.

strike1 · 03/06/2005 11:59

So sorry to hear about your loss HumphreysCorner. The same has just happened to me. Baby died at 7 weeks. This lot are very good at helping you feel less alone. look after yourself and please feel free to vent everything here. X

HumphreysCorner · 03/06/2005 11:51

Hi there all, can I join you?

I was going to join the we want a spring baby thread in Jan when started TTC but fell pg in March which was quick for me so just followed the thread. Unfortunately I started bleeding on this BH Monday and a scan on Weds revealed the baby had died at 6 weeks, sac had grown to 10 weeks (?)was 12 weeks +1. Anyway, have opted to let nature take its course with a rescan on 15th June to see if everything has gone. Better give you my stats:

Me 35
DH 34
DD 22 months

Off work for 2 weeks to recover but feeling very sad.

cori · 03/06/2005 11:33

I had Acupuncture last year for psoriasis, it worked very well.
I decided to try it again because I heard it works well for TTC but also because I feel my body needs a boost.
When I saw Acupuncturist on Wednesday I asked her if she could do anything to stimulate my the onset of AF and she said she did so am pleased with the results.

Tabs · 03/06/2005 11:29

Cori - sorry to hear that you've been having a tough time, but yay about AF arriving now.

Just wanted to issue a little warning about green tea. It's dangerous to drink when you actually are pregnant, so if you are going to have it then do make sure that you stop once you've ovulated.

strike1 · 03/06/2005 11:19

Hi Cori, interesting about green tea. I'll have to stock up! I also heard that beetroot is very benifical, but green tea sounds nicer!

Have you been having acupuncture to bring on AF or ttc? Is it a therapy you've used before.

cori · 03/06/2005 11:13

Hi guys,
I havent been around for a while.
I have had a difficult week. After no bleeding for a couple of weeks, on Monday night I started to pass some more brownish tissue. Went to hospital next day and had a scan, I was told I had retained some placental tissue but not enough for them to do a D&C. Was told it would probably pass when I have a period. I also am on another lot of antibiotics because I have an infection. Starting to feel really down, thinking my body would never return to normal. I had another Acupuncture treatment on Wednesday night, and my period returned the next day. Yippee!! Have never been so pleased to see AF.
Will have another scan next week to see if there is any tissue is left. THen I can really think about jumping on TTC band wangon.
Top Tip. Did you guys know that drinking green tea is meant to double your chances of concieving in any given month.

Diddle · 03/06/2005 10:39

having the roses has helped me a lot, given me somethin to look after, and look forward to. and they're going to look beatiful

OP posts:
strike1 · 03/06/2005 10:16

Thanks Diddle. Had a good night last night. DH went out and I sat eating Chocolate and watching Will & Grace (which he hates) Had a nice long bath and had a good sleep, my first in agaes. So everything is returning to normal slowly.

I have some roses that are about to burst into life as well, I like your sentiment about them, I'm going to buy some forget me nots and plant them this weekend I think.

Diddle · 03/06/2005 10:10

strike1 - i know just how you feel, it felt like i was waiting for a lifetime, but it will soon come, i was fed up of bleeding so long and it got me down, then when it stopped all i could hope for was the AF would come. It will come eventually, and i know its easier said than done, but try not to think about it too much, then time will fly.
Hope you're feeling ok. I found that i was really drained after my m/c and looked like a ghost i was so pale. look after yourself

OP posts:
strike1 · 03/06/2005 10:03

Morning all. Sorry to hear about your m/c expressmummy. I'm still bleeding from my eprc last week and I'm desperate for it to stop so I can have an AF and get bck to normal! Hope it doesn't take too long for you.

Diddle · 03/06/2005 09:32

maddyD - one of our rose buds is opening!!!! only one out of about 15, but i can a lovely bit of pink poking through, can't wait for them to bloom more. i'm wishing the sun out as i type.

thats made my day, how are yours doing?

OP posts:
Tabs · 03/06/2005 09:22

She was just a few days behind me.

Diddle · 03/06/2005 09:20

oh no not munz as well. how far gone was she?

OP posts:
Tabs · 03/06/2005 09:00

Morning everyone. Seems that everyone's feeling a bit down at the moment. Just seen Munz's news and feeling very sad for her now.

Expressmummy - I had D&C at 12 weeks and got AF 42 days later (usual cycle around 32), but everyone's bodies seem to behave differently, so it's hard to say when yours will come.

Diddle · 03/06/2005 08:36

OH NO I've missed you evening people again, must try and stay on here all the time. I hate catching up.

Rachelrog - No signs yet apart from the usual imaginary ones, I think i feel a bit yucky, and tired and achy, but it could all be in my imagination. I think my stomach is filling out, or feeling harder, but i know its in my imagination. I just want that BFP. technically if we tested now we could get a BFP, but i am going to try so hard to wait. I have another 12 days till AF is due. when is yours due??

Tabs - I think it is totally normal for you to be "knicker watching" i would be a bag of nerves too. Its hard to tr and enjoy it when you're so worried isn't it. But don't let it stress you out, stay well.

Xena - Sorry to hear your DH is being such an arse, men don't always know the right thing to say, especially over something that has hurt them so much. I hope that he didn't mean to be cross. I can understand why you're so upset that you're part of such a small percentage of people. But everyone is different, and every m/c is different. Its sad to think that in a lot of cases we will never know why our babies left us.

Expressmummy - Did you m/c naturally, or have a D&C? and how long is your cycle normally? I mc naturally both times and my cycle is normally 35 days and AF arrive don day 38, so it didn't take my body long to regulate itself.
