have been having a fairly obsessive 2ww and am cd31 of ucl29/30.

Had woeful cramps last thurs but then no af and wondered if these were implantation cramps which i also had with dd. felt nauseous all morning (albeit possible from obsessing so much) so went and bought a clear blue plus test.

This test shows a plus for pregnant and negative for not pregnant on a kind of digital display.

The horizontal line is there of course but there is a faint faint vertical line. you have to look for it but theres something. surely you cant have evap lines on a clearblue?

can anyone help?

Hi there ! Hope someone can help ..
I had a miscarriage in dicember at 7 weeks, tests didn’t show any anomalies but doctor said it just didn’t work out...
Been trying again since 4 , 5 months ..
Had bad night sleep ,night sweating and ovaries cramps in the last 4 days (same symptoms I had at the beginning of previous pregnancy ) and yesterday bought a clear blue early detection as I’m due on Monday and could wait!
Tested yesterday evening and this morning and both shown a very very light faint line.
Do you think I can’t still hope for the best?
Could it be too early??
any opinion would be highly appreciated! x

dowhatyouwish · 10/08/2017 05:56

I'd say they're positive.

Cappamarie23, if you only ovulated on Saturday of last week then you are testing too early as you're not even 7dpo until today. I would give it a few more days and test again on the day when AF is due. Some tests measure different amounts of hcg so, while some are very sensitive at 10iu/ml, others don't pick up until 25iu/ml meaning they show neg results for longer.

I have done 2 pregnancy test both different brands 1 from lloyds pharmacy and 1 clearblue plus both seem to have what loo. Like to me and my partner faint lines in the test window on and both results came u. WITHIN the maximum time specified. However I did a clear blue digi this evening and it was " not pregnant" could this result be just because have tested 2 early. The symptoms that I have aswell post ovulating on saturday have been...very tender & fully breasts, bloating, hell of alot of white discharge which has had been going on for 5days n sometimes appears to have a tinge of yellow in it,i felt quite nausea 2 nights ago.

Ive had the same! Did 2 clear Blue yesterday and Friday and I'm due on tomorrow. 2 very very faint lines. Beginning to wonder if they were really positive.

Stacey91 · 08/05/2014 09:17

Hiya. Just wondering if anyone could help me?
Iv done a clearblue plus test and the vertical line is so faint!! I'm wondering if it's positive? Because iv read other peoples posts about the line been thin! It's not thin it's how it should be the same thickness as the horizontal one.
But iv done 3 superdrug tests and all come back negative.
Help please ??

MissSpells13 · 26/09/2011 12:45

For what it is worth to those furiously googling this, I got this result too and called Clear Blue. She asked if the line was thin 'like a hair', I said yes. She says the test hadn't functioed properly so is sending me a digital one in the post. Fingers crossed it was positive after all, but FYI - not valid.

Katy - you have resurrected an old thread, but I will try to help. I am wondering if you took the first three tests all on the same day, and then the forth test the following day, or if you took the four tests on consequetive days?

Most importantly with the clearblue tests I am glad to read you read the test within the 10mins, if you did not then you need to be aware that these tests very frequently have lines appear after the time limit, they are called evaporation lines. The lines can look very real, but are only real if the lines are seen before the time limit.

Next, If you have taken the four tests over the four days, and the lines have gradually become lighter over four days, then I would suspect you had what is called a chemical pregnancy. Where the pregnancy fails to implant properly and progress, this is extremely common and it is being seem more often these days, not because it is happening more, but because women are testing before their period is due with the more sensitive tests available.

If you took three tests on one day and one the following day, then it is too soon to say whether it is a chemical pregnancy or not, the amount of dye in the test and the concentration of the urine, make a huge difference in the early days, it can go either way. Really the best thing to do is to wait until your period is due before testing again. Early testing is expensive, if you really can't wait then at least order cheap tests off ebay, to save yourself the expense.

I hope that it turns out the way you want it to and that you get a clear bfp soon.

katyvampanne · 26/03/2011 12:51

im due on my period in 5 days. been soooo tired ad nauseuos for over a week now.. took a clear blue plus test and it was an extremely faint posutuve, did anotger and the control line was all dotted, so i assume was broke. done anpther, it was even more faint. done another next morning and it was negative! really concerned and paranoid. been trying for years and am taking metfformin as i have pcos. just wondering other people opinions i read all results within 10 minutes. just dont know what to think its cost me £24+ already. really concerned xx

SophieB1 · 18/08/2010 13:13

Both tests I took had faint lines, I'm 4 weeks :)

despott · 18/08/2010 11:07

i am 2 days late.. did a preg test a day before my period due date and turned out negative :(... had cramps last week ( a week after conception) but very light!! i am feeling very dizzy since yesterday, smelled coffee and made me sick ( but didnt throw up) no signs of period yet, and i hope im not imagining but my areola seems swollen from the bottom side!!! i really really wish im preg!!!!! a nurse told me to wait a few more days as its still early to do a hit test again but i cant wait :(

how can ppl do tests before period due date and get a positive result???? and i got a neg a day before my period due date !!!!!

HHEELLLPPP

mummy2isla · 23/08/2009 22:35

My line was very very faint and everything was fine - good luck!!! x x

TULIP2110 · 07/08/2009 19:53

Congratulations!

LeeWT · 06/08/2009 14:32

Back from the drs and he did test and it came up positive after a minute again not as strong as the control line but good enough.

He gave me a due date -10th April 2009 - and reassured me that there's no reason why this shouldn't be a successful pregnancy .. Nice to hear it from a dr..

Am still going to do a test in few days to make sure result stronger - serial POASer!!

Thanks for all the help xxx

I would relax - you def are preggers and it does take a while to get a line as dark as the control line. Hope Dr's went ok - I think you can start to believe that you are knocked up!

LeeWT · 06/08/2009 09:48

well took my second first response this morning and its a little stronger but not much, def not as dark as the control line.

BUT i realised from an old diary that ive been miscalculating and my cycle is actually 32 days and not 29. also realised that my strong cramps were on day 18 and day 26 which would be ovulation and implantation. strange how you can figure it out.

while i am -getting positive tests they are not just as strong as i'd like and i'm two days overdue af.

hoping this miscalculation explains the faintness.. off to doctors now, wish me luck

Hi Lee
congratulations - completely completely empathise with your story and just wanted to post that have had exactly similar experiences with both my pgs, and tbh i did LOTS of negative tests for about 5 days after my period due date both times..eventually it's been a faint FAINT line which eventually....turns into a baby! But dammit man it always seems to cost a bomb in tests!!
So I'd go with the usual mumsnet advice that a line is a line is a line, and the faintness of the line doesn't tell you whether it's a sticker or not, it just means you are pg and that you should breathe a sigh of relief...and then start the usual early weeks wait of hoping all goes ok!
And yep go to GP and try get an early scan, might put your mind at rest
Good luck!

LeeWT · 05/08/2009 18:59

hi all, havent caved in yet, dont have the heart for another faint line so am doing my second first response tomorrow morning. am also going to see the dr at 10am to get a test there. wish me luck
