ooh mine is SC and if you get request from KW same as Lemon!

Isnt it bad we have to hide these things from our mums who feel they need to now everything!

as it is I've just been told of by midwife who told me to hanker down and ride this flue thing out with no meds or Vicks to ease the bunged upness!

PistachioLemon · 28/10/2009 16:41

Oh, I should say, my initials contain an M, a K and an E...

If you get a request from someone with the initials P, E and E, please don't accept - that would be my mother who also eagerly watches developments via FB.

PistachioLemon · 28/10/2009 16:39

My request has also been fired off...am a bit nervous...see you guys on the other side

Hi everyone!!

Lemon I am so sorry to hear your news have been floating about to see what the outcome was but have not been able to find anything! I hope your next visit to see them will give you the chance to ask all that you need to!

Dawn - sounds like your doing a great job! Glad things are sorting themselves out with DH its such a changing time with a new person in the house and having to spread around your attention!

Bubap your due already time is flying by to fast get theeself on the birthing ball and rock around a bit hope things start moving along for you!!

Has anyone heard from PME lately I have been searching around and not heard anything ad was thinking about her alot!

eth37 · 27/10/2009 16:21

Aaaaw, BubbaP I am thinking of you!! Glad the sweep wasn't too bad, but you must be heartily sick of it all now. I know I am and I am a month behind you!! Fingers crossed for some movement soon. I have been getting v strong Braxton Hicks recently, especially today, but I think this is normal.
Dawn Was Ellie quite early? Were you induced in the end because of your GD? I hope things are better at home and that DH is being lovely.
Hever Well done on setting up the group! I have asked to join, but my name isn't anything like my MN name - first name starts with a K. Am a bit funny about FB nowadays as children at school try and spy on their teachers (!) so my privacy settings are whacked right up! But I sent the request just now, so you should know it is me. Sorry - I don't mean to sound mental, am just a bit paranoid!
Hope everyone's doing well. Just had a huge online shop delivered so the freezer is full of v quick teas for post-baby life! We WILL NOT STARVE!!

BubbaP · 27/10/2009 14:06

No, I'm still here girls! C'mon now baby!

Had the sweep yesterday and still nothing happening. Having a 2nd sweep tomorrow, and also booked in for a 2nd reflexology session, so hopefully the bub will arrive before I'm booked in to be induced (Sun).

Eth the sweep was actually OK, not as bad as I thought it would be. Fair less painful than a smear test, just uncomfortable really. Have you finished work yet?

Thanks for setting up the Facebook group Hever, I will search for it now and send a request to join.

Dawn glad to hear things are a bit better with your DH. I really hope things improve, I guess the most important thing is for you two to keep talking and making time for each other. Big hugs.

Hello to everyone else! xxxxxxx

heverhoney1 · 27/10/2009 11:38

Right laidies - Facebook group has been set up - Just search for MN Frolickers!! It is a private group so you will have to request to join xxxxx

P.S do you think Bubap has gone quiet because little bub has arrived?

Hello ladies - I am so sorry I have been away. Have been so, so busy at work, and just sleeping every hour I wasn't there really. Just been catching up on all your news.

PL I am so sorry about your DH's results. As others have said though, it really does seem that there are lots of options, and you WILL have your baby SOON. IUI is meant to be a very successful option too, and I too have heard that if there are some viable sperm and healthy eggs, then IVF is much more successful. How are you feeling now?

Dawn Are you ok? I am glad things are looking up after the weekend. And I am so sorry to hear about your cat. It is so distressing to lose a pet, they really are a part of a family. My cat is currently nesting on my knee and I have been talking to him all day, so I do know how you feel.

BubbaP Have you had the sweep? Was it ok? YOu must be so fed up. I am fed up and I am only 37 weeks. I am so bored of being big and clumsy and tired now. Sorry if that sounds ungrateful, I don't mean to. I just want to know when baby will arrive.

Hever how are you?? HOw is Chloe? I know all about finishing masters dissertations. Yuk, yuck, yuck. Must be extra yuck trying to fit in days t the uni library with a little one as well.

MAF yay, how good to hear from you!! V exciting! Are you due in Feb? Do you have stuff ready?

Big hello to everyone and can I join the FB group please? How do we do it?

DawnAS · 26/10/2009 14:37

Hey ladies,

Thanks so much for all your support!! I am sure that things are already starting to look better. It turns out that DH was convinced that I didn't want to be with him anymore and now he knows that I do, everything seems to have become more relaxed. We even had a cuddle on the sofa last night which is the first time since Ellie was born - how sad is that? We haven't managed to BD yet, but that will come, I'm sure. We're still not out of the woods but things are starting to look a bit better.

Bubbap, I really hope that it is the start of something for you!!

Hever, yes, I would love to be part of a FB group!! Come and let us know when you've set it up and I'll come and join. My real name is Anthea by the way so if you see some strange person with that name join, you'll know that it's me!! Thank you so much by the way for saying that I can call. My email address is [email protected] if you want to drop me a line?

Pistachio, I really hope that things are looking up for you aswell hun.

xxx

BubbaP · 26/10/2009 14:18

Hi Hever, yes fingers crossed that things are already moving. The midwife is due to arrive any time now so will be interesting to see if she thinks things are starting to happen yet, and whether the 1st sweep might be enough to get things moving properly.

Good luch with the dissertation - I did a Masters a couple of years ago so I can sympathise!

I'm on Facebook, would def be interested in joining a private group if you set one up.

xxxx

heverhoney1 · 26/10/2009 13:47

Hi Bubap it sounds like things are already moving a bit for you. The period like pains were how my contractions started. I hope all goes well and smoothly for you.

I am trying to finnish my dissertation which is due on Friday then un is over thank god!!!

Are any of you ladies on Facebook? I was thinking of setting up a private group?

OP posts:
BubbaP · 26/10/2009 11:01

Hever I hope you and Chloe are OK, and that your cold is improving by now. Are you going back to Uni soon? How many hours of lectures will you have, or is your dissertation the end of your course?

No news here really, I'm 41 weeks today and currently waiting for the midwife to arrive to do a sweep. Apparently they'll try 3 sweeps. If nothing happens, I'll be going in to hospital to be induced on Sun 1st November.

I've had some twinges over the past couple of days, lost my mucous plug and have had some period-type pains and back ache, so really hoping that the baby will come naturally sometime this week. Fingers crossed.

Big hellos to anyone else who may be lurking! xxxxx

BubbaP · 26/10/2009 10:53

Pistachio really sorry to hear about the test results, but hopefully you're feeling a bit stronger after having a few days to take it all in. I'm sure you'll be able to find really supportive MNers on the assisted conception threads. And also get to read some fantastic stories from others about their positive results.

I definitely think you'll feel better once you've decided about the referral to the fertility clinic - you'll feel more in control of the whole situation I think. Are you due to see the doc again this week?

Big hugs, thinking of you xxxxxxxxxxx

BubbaP · 26/10/2009 10:48

Dawn I'm so sorry to hear what's happened over the weekend. I'm sending you huge >

I really hope that you and your DH are able to keep talking about this, and also that you're able to talk to your friends and family about it. You need their support.

Is there anyone who could take Ellie for a couple of hours so that you and your DH can talk properly?

Thinking of you and sending you lots of love, keep strong xxxxxxxxxx

PistachioLemon · 26/10/2009 08:01

Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Do you think he has had trouble adjusting to there being three in the family and having to share your time? You must be devastated.

Huge hugs.

PLx

heverhoney1 · 25/10/2009 20:55

oh no Dawn. Maybe he is still in shock you 2 have been through so so much together over the last year!

I want to send you a big hug and if you want a chat I am always here for you. If you want a shoulder to cry on in private I can send you my phone no or email?

DawnAS · 25/10/2009 15:05

Hi all,

Pistachio, sorry about your DH's results. But Hever is right, your support will be invaluable to him and you're taking all the steps that you can now which can only be positive.

Unfortunately things aren't looking quite so rosy in our camp... DH told me last night that he doesn't feel the same about me anymore and isn't happy being with Ellie and I. I'm in total shock and never ever thought that this would happen to us. I thought that we had everything, because we'd waited so long for the Fairytale. Just goes to show how wrong you can be... So I don't know where we go from here. He says he still wants to try and doesn't want to leave, but how do I move on when I know how he really feels? I'm just not sure what to do now... By the way, he doesn't want to do any form of counselling - he's not into that apparently...

Sorry to bring the thread down AGAIN!!

xxx

PistachioLemon · 24/10/2009 13:51

Thanks Hever, and no, it doesn't sound hollow at all... thank you for being there.

I had a quick look on the website the doctor recommended this morning, but I think I'll go back to it when I'm feeling a bit stronger. I'm also lurking on the assisted conception thread and will probably make myself known fairly soon

Hope you lot are all well? What are you up to this weekend?

heverhoney1 · 24/10/2009 11:40

I know now that we have Chloe this sounds a little hollow but I do know a bit of how your DH feels. There are fertility problems in my family which I was told could be hereditary- It looked like they were right when my periods went AWOL. It put a lot of pressure on me and DP. The pressure was all in my own head but that did not help.

The 1 bit of comfort I can be to your DH is that it will get easier when you are taking the necessary steps, you feel a little bit more in control. You are amazing support Pistachio and I am sure he appriciates it, I know I appriciated DPs support xxxxx

PistachioLemon · 24/10/2009 08:21

Thanks Hever. I know you're right.

Poor DH feels awful though. Yesterday he also said to me that if I wanted a divorce that he understood of course I said what nonsense, we're in this together etc

I'm pretty sure we've decided to go for it so hopefully we'll get an appointment soon and we can both start feeling better about it all.

heverhoney1 · 23/10/2009 23:24

Pistachio I am sorry to hear about DH results but there are positives here. Your DH DOES have some normal sperm (IVF only requires 1 good 1 per egg and 3% of million of the little blighters means there is def potential here). I believe (But dont quote me on this) that sucess rtes for IVF are higher in circumstances akin to this than if the problem lies with the eggs. You found out sooner rather than later and you are getting help.

I hope all of your questions are answered next week and that you are on your way to Mummydom soon.

All my love - my thoughts are with you xxxx

OP posts:
PistachioLemon · 23/10/2009 22:33

Hi guys, thanks so much for asking after me. The final results from DHs sperm test came back today and they're dire. The doctor said that there were only 3% 'normal' sperm on top of there only being a quarter of the number that there normally would be, so basically we've very little hope of getting pregnant naturally.

She said it wasn't impossible but if it happened it would be akin to a miracle. DH then suggested we go to church on Sunday morning

Anyhow, she said to think about it over the weekend and to let her know if we'd like to be referred to a fertility clinic. Apparantly we get one shot at IVF on the NHS but there are other options too - I guess she meant IUI.

Ah well, I pretty much knew that was coming but I was so upset I hardly asked any questions at all. Poor doctor, I did proper snotty sobbing crying for about five minutes. Shayera on my other thread gave me lots of really useful things to ask about so hopefully I won't be such a mess next week and will be able to ask proper questions instead of unintelligible rubbish.

Also, the doctor said it was very likely that the problem was caused by the tortion DH had, and said it's possible he had a lesser one too on the 'good' testicle but that wasn't picked up either at the same time or when he was a child. DH said that made him feel a little bit better about the whole thing but also told me later that this is the lowest he's ever felt in his entire life.
