A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Well ladies, I thought I'd better start us a new thread

May it bring us all good luck, see us through happier times, and at least two new bundles of joy

Boo! Thought I'd pop my head around the door to say hello.

Had my 34 week check today. All ok. Getting closer!

mbm poor you going through a traumatic procedure. I hope you are recovered now. Have you had the results? Or is it next week Wednesday? I'm sending you good luck vibes

I have been watching a bit of X factor here and there but DH HATES it with a passion!

monkeybumsmum · 26/09/2009 18:26

Seven weeks Becky Oh my goodness me how time flies! Have you got everything ready? Were your ds' on time?? Wonder when this little one will be ready to come out!

Poppy Yay, Eurodisney! That's not too far away from us! (Well, a few hours, but closer to us than you are now!) Hope you have a fab time, I can't wait till ds is a little older so we can take him - he'll love it!

Nandos Poor you, hope you start to feel better soon. It's tough being ill with a newborn. Make sure you look after yourself, and take a bit of time out when you can.

M2O Not sure if you're lurking or not, but if so then hello!!! Hope you're doing okay...

Had a lovely day today - ds and I have been picking walnuts off our tree and trying to dodge the little funny coloured spiders that seem intent on protecting their nuts! I hate spiders DS loved it though, but wasn't too keen on the walnuts once I cracked a few open. They're quite bitter, not sure if I'm s'posed to roast them or something to make them a bit more palatable? Anyone know?

Had my last procedure on Wednesday which was awful - very traumatic. My tummy has still not recovered and our chess has been disturbed as have been in too much discomfort. Think I should have ovulated on Thursday, but still not (according to Clearblue Monitor) so think Wednesday's knocked it all out of kilter. Get results next Wednesday so am starting to get bit nervous. Can't decide whether I want something fixable to be wrong, or whether it's better he says everything's normal - will just have to carry on in limbo land if that's the case. They seem quite proactive over here, and part of the tests they've done are normally done before starting IVF, therefore saving themselves time if we end up going down that route. Fingers crossed it won't come to that...

Have a great Sunday all!

ps anyone watching the X Factor??? Am a bit obsessed

Nandos poor you. I hope you are ok.

Poppy Eurodisney lucky you guys!!!! I've been to Tokyo Disneyland and loved it but I'm sure it's smaller than Eurodisney.

No news here. Feel huge. Belly big. Indigestion. Waddling everywhere. Seven weeks to go.

nandos · 26/09/2009 17:26

poppy27 · 22/09/2009 14:38

becky sounds like you had a fab time - that is sooo my favourite era
Hope your ds is feeling better now. It is such a worry when they are sick and feverish. My overactive mind goes into worry overdrive. Sending (((hugs)))
Can't wait to see those pics

mbm and nandos hope you are both ok.

Have had a very busy wk and on Sunday afternoon I was at our district Centenary birthday party for Girlguiding. We were very lucky as it was a dry and sometimes sunny afternoon. Our local foorball stadium let us have their grounds and there were lots of girls there. We had all sorts of activities for them and then we had a catwalk with some of the girls modelling uniforms from the past! They were sooo cute, esp the wee brownies who are only 7. All in all, lots of work but good fun.

Yest took ds ten pin bowling with dh and my dad. Of course I had the lowest score much to ds's delight!

Our big news is that my lovely parents are sending us and my brother to eurodisney in Oct. Ds is very excited (like his mum) and is now counting the weeks! We are going to be staying in the Newport Bay hotel which seems to be very close to the parks and looks lovely

Anyway must go and wash ds's school uniforms for tomorrow.

Hello! We're back. I was paddling in the sea this morning...

Had a great time. I danced my little feet off to Wham, Madonna, Dead or Alive, Madness, etc. I looked a right state though as Mr Blobby. There were about 3 Madonnas there, 1 Toyah Wilcox, 1 Mrs Thatcher, a Rambo, Don Johnson, Kylie and Jason and DH was a blues brother. It was fun.

We got back though to pick up the DSs from the 'in-laws and DS1 is poorly. He was feverish and shivery and was sick on the way home So now I am in mummy worry mode. I'm sure he's ok, he's been asleep for 3 hours now, but I know I will worry until he's better.

mbm I have photos but I look so huge and I need DH to put them on the computer.

monkeybumsmum · 18/09/2009 15:14

Just got in from work so only a quicky, but woohoo Becky you are going to look fab!!!!! What a brill idea!

Okay, this has to be the bump picture that you post on here - make sure you take a camera with you, and have a wonderful time if I don't get chance to post again!

Love to everyone else xxx

ps Good luck at the dentist too Becky and hope you feel better soon x

Hello all! Nandos poor your litle DS - I remember DS1 had gastric flu when he was 11 weeks old and just shy of the age allowed for any Calpol or any medicine. It was so hard because he was feeling so rotten (I know because I caught it next). They do get better though, although it is hard to see them suffering when they are so little, isn't it?

I've got a stinky cold myself. Sniff, sniff.

mbm so funny buying a cat food tin with your voucher!

I've got to take the DSs to the dentist today and DS2 loves going but DS1 HATES it with a 'run away and hide' reaction. I couldn't even get him to open his mouth last time. Oh dear.

Did I tell you guys I'm going to an 80s icon theme party this weekend. Guess what I am going as? Mr Blobby. I have sewn some yellow spots on my pink Isabella Oliver maternity dress and will wear pink tights and bow tie. I am going to paint my arms with yellow spots and pink too. Sad, eh? Sexy? Not in the slightest.

monkeybumsmum · 16/09/2009 09:34

Poppy Thanks for what you said in your post. It is so difficult when it's happening for other people all around isn't it. Three of my very good friends are pg, and although I am so happy for them I am also just so envious I think you're right though, things do happen at the right time, and if I never manage to have another lo then maybe it's for the right reasons, whatever they may be.

Thanks for info re vits - I popped into Boots at the airport but they guy there said he couldn't give me any as it wasn't a dispensing chemist - will try to have a look in town today but not sure how to explain what I need in French

Hee hee re your ds in the bath, v cute!

Right, must go!

monkeybumsmum · 16/09/2009 08:27

Oh Nandos You mustn't think that, babies get sick, regardless of circumstances. My ds had plenty of colds etc when he was small, as I think did most of my friends' babies. It's almost impossible to escape from germs like that, unless of course you locked yourself in a room somewhere and never went out It sounds like you are doing brilliantly, managing to juggle a little baby and work.
My ds was only ever given nose drops when he was small too - it's something they don't tend to do in the UK I don't think. I didn't find that they ever really helped ds but maybe it'll be different for your ds. Have you got a sucker thing to help get the snot out? DS HATED it, but before he was able to blow his nose it did help a little. Horrible to use though as they just scream

Right, have got a day off today and am off into Brussels shopping, yay!!!!! Have got a 20 euro voucher that needs to be used by Saturday so am off to buy a cat food tin, big spender that I am Might get tempted by some other things too though... Meeting friend for lunch, and ds is v excited as he loves her kids!

Hope you are all okay, what are you all up to?
Lots of love xxx

got to go n clean up my room b4 dh arrives tmr..
hope all of u have a nice day..take care

Hi everyone..

just a quick post from me cos' baby's unwell.. hes got running nose n cough..

MBM, sorry to hear abt AF ..like Becky said, im sure it will happen too.

Baby has started to cry ..got to go will try to continue later..

poppy27 · 13/09/2009 12:42

Hi all

Sorry not been on last wk, v busy time. Was away last weekend with girlguides. Good fun and although weather not brill we were v lucky it didn't really rain. We were staying in huge converted stables which have been bought by girlguiding in Edinburgh and are v secluded in the middle of a huge country park. We went pond dipping with a park ranger who was v knowledgeable and made it really good fun and did lots of cooking, crafts and walking etc. Was knackered on Sun night so decided to have a lovely bath which ds decided to join me with . He was sitting behind me pouring water over my hair and asked "mummy, see the light bits in your hair, are they the ones you bought from the hairdresser!" just glad it wasn't the greys he was talking about!

MBM I take vit B Complex. Not sure about taking it with pg vitamins as well, I just take that and folic acid. Am considering adding some more vits to the mix as I really feel I need to "up my game"!!!
Hope you had a good time in the Uk. Please don't feel worried about things. It will happen for you. I just feel so strongly that it will. I keep telling myself that as well but I do understand how hard it is when it seems to be happening so easily for everyone else. I read in one of my "books" that things happen when the time is right.

becky wow you really don't have too much longer to go now at all. Can't wait to see pics of minibendy.

nandos good to hear from you but sorry you have been apart from your dh for so long. That must be really hard for both of you. Hope the nxt 2 wks go quickly for you. Take care of yourselves.

monkeybumsmum · 13/09/2009 11:47

Becky You're just so lovely, thank you. It does really help to have someone say that. Am starting to get seriously disheartened...

Dad just cooking yummy brunch so must dash, but hello to all, hope you're having lovely days!

mbm huuuuggge hug from me. I'm so very sorry it didn't happen this time. It will happen. I know it. I feel it in my waters. I just know it.

Nandos sounds like your period to me too. I'm due on 14 November. I look like I might topple over now as I have relatively thin legs and arms and this big bowling ball for a belly.

Hope everyone is ok

monkeybumsmum · 12/09/2009 12:16

Hi all

Nandos Lovely to hear from you, and so glad the baby's doing well! Have you got any more photo's you could post?
WRT the discharge you're having, it does sound like your period. I'm not sure if you're breastfeeding or not, but if you're not then yes, it probably is AF. If you are exclusively breastfeeding then I think that delays the return of your periods - I remember I didn't get mine til ds was about 8 or 9 months. Hope that helps!
Poor you with dh being away so much, and poor dh too. It must be awful having to be away for so long at such a precious time Hope the next two weeks flies by for you

How are you Becky, Poppy and m2o? Hope you're all okay and having nice weekends!

Can't be on too long as I'm supposed to be packing - ds and I are going to UK for the night tonight, and are leaving for the airport in a few hours. Back tomorrow afternoon, so is definately classified as the proverbial flying visit!

Am feeling pretty gutted today, as AF started on Thursday night Have been using the Fertility Monitor, and therefore know exactly when I ovulated. Wish in a way I didn't know, coz have now realised I only have a 10 or 11 day luteal phase, so maybe that's why it's not working Am feeling very panicked, and have been in tears this morning, convinced that we're never going to get there.

Have read that Vit B6 can lengthen luteal phase - Poppy I think you take Vit B supplements don't you? Can you still take them with a pregnancy vitamin like Pregnacare? I looked at getting some a while ago, but it said on the packet not to take without consulting your doctor if you're trying to get pg, but am now desperate. Can pick some up at the airport on the way back tomorrow (there's a Boots thank god ) so will try and check MN tonight or tomorrow to see if you've seen this message!

Love to all xxx

Hope everyone is ok
Have been very bz lately with baby n work so couldnt come n post msgs on MN
btw baby doing fine and now started making funny noises as if wanting to talk

Becky when r u due? cant wait foryour big news..
MBM hope its this month that works fingers crossed.
Poppy hope you doing fine..dont give up yet k!

Btw need some opinion from you ladies..i just stopped my TMI alert** discharges from the time of birth which last for abt 1mth, which is nealy 3 weeks ago. Now started having brown, reddish discharge again is this my period or am i imagining it?
Been feeling bloated for a couple of days now..
anywayz dh been away for more than a mth now and only coming back in 2 weeks time missed him dearly. how i wish he could stay here longer..

BeckyBendyLegs · 07/09/2009 13:04

mbm my fingers and toes are all crossed for you

My friend does have 4 children already - 3 from a previous marriage and one who is just 1 year old so she is probably quite fertile! I do think she is slightly bonkers going for number 5.

5.30am is early mbm. DH gets up then to go to work but I get up at about 7.15am on a school day and anytime from 7.30-9.00 on a non-school day depending on when the DSs descend on me!

monkeybumsmum · 06/09/2009 20:49

Wow that's great Becky £190! Shame they don't do anything like that here, not that I'm pg of course, but still...
Glad MiniBL is kicking away, and LOL re saying ow during a quiet bit
That's great about your friend Has she got kids already?

Hope you've all had a good weekend - mine has been v quiet. The PIL's went this morning, so is strangely quiet without them .
I'm not feeling great - can't figure out whether it could possibly be something (fingers crossed) or more likely, whether I'm just knackered from last week and starting back at school.
Am up again at half five tomorrow (half four with you, ow!) and will be doing that every day this week. I am soooo not an early bird Am wondering where on earth I'm going to find the energy!
AF is due on Sunday or Monday - the Clearblue Monitor has been fab and am so relieved that we have given ourselves the best chance this month as we got the timing right for once Am feeling a tiny bit sicky, with a heavy tummy and a bit of an achy lower back, oh, and boobs are agony. However, these are symptoms I've had over the last few months too, and haven't been pg any of those times. Is quite good really, as I can tell myself they mean nothing!

Have a good start to the week all - lots of love xxx

Poppy I will be just shy of 38 when 'minibendylegs' is born and today I went to a Christening when a friend, who is 40, whispered 'I'm seven weeks pregnant!' to me.

Minibendylegs is kicking like bonkers! Sometimes it really hurts. At the Christening today I couldn't stop myself going 'owwww!' during a particularly quiet bit when everyone was praying seriously. Ooops.

Hope everyone is well

I've just applied for my Health In Pregnancy grant - there is this strange thing where everyone who is pregnant in the UK now gets a present of £190 from the government. I have no idea why. I think I'm supposed to buy fruit and vegatables with it or something. I treat myself to a new winter coat after the baby is born! That'll keep me healthy post pregnancy - ie not cold!

monkeybumsmum · 05/09/2009 16:50

Hello!

Just a quick headpoke round the door as have a half hour with ds out with grandparents so must get stuff done...

How are you all?

Becky How's minibendylegs? Hope he or she is kicking away nice and strong

Poppy Meant to say in my last post, you should still have plenty of time, 37 isn't that old! A friend of mine had a baby a few months ago (after a mc) and she's 43...

Nandos How are you enjoying being a mummy? I hope you're not too tired...

m2o Are you back yet? How was your holiday?

Must go, but love to all!

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 30/08/2009 19:00

Poppy wow at your dream. I don't think you are bonkers at all. I totally believe in the power of dreams and 'feelings' about things. Like when my mum didn't turn up for her surprise birthday outing with me and wasn't answering her phone. I should have been really worried that she was ok but I 'knew' she was fine, which she was (just dippy for forgetting about the day and having no credit on her phone!).

mbm your procedure sounds tough. Poor you. Good luck with the chess I hardly ever play chess at the moment. I'm just not in the mood and my bits are very sensative. It hurts afterwards. I think this is normal as I remember having this with DS2.

Poppy my DH got really fed up with chess on demand.

mbm big hug from me too for your anniversary of the 12 week scan. Those days are hard to go through. I remember so well when you had your scan.

Better go - bathtime for little boys!

monkeybumsmum · 30/08/2009 13:44

Me and dh felt like that too Poppy, just fed up of doing it, doing it some more, and not getting anywhere. I feel like we've been wasting time, and I don't want to spend any more time than necessary in this position.
The CBFM's are sooo expensive though - I actually persuaded my fab mum to buy mine as I just couldn't have got one otherwise. You never know, if this turns out to be our lucky month (fingers crossed) then I could lend you my monitor

Well done ds getting a medal Have you talked to him about listening harder? It must be difficult though, with adrenalin pumping round as he prepares to start... Bless him!
Poor you feeling sick too, but hope you enjoyed it last night!

It's our wedding anniversary on Thursday - we're going out to the cinema on Friday to celebrate. What style we have Is weird as last year we didn't celebrate at all as I was having the ERPC the next day. Can't believe it's been a year.

Have a nice relaxing arvo won't you. Am glad you're feeling better! I'd better go as I'm getting evils from my hardworking dh every time he passes through the kitchen on his way to cut wood

OP posts:
poppy27 · 30/08/2009 13:27

Hi mbm feeling v bleary eyed this morn. Should deffo not have had the wine last night had a pounding head this morn and felt sick. The car journey was a nightmare!! But ds did ok and got a medal. His trouble is that I don't think he listens properly to what the instructors are telling them to do and then when it begins he turns round to see what the person nxt to him is doing which isn't much good for sparring Anyway have since had 2 rolls and a coffee and feel a million times better

I will be v interested to see how you get on with your monitor this month. I have been looking at them as well as I deffo think we need some extra help. Last month dh was very grumpy and tired and said he was sick of chess on demand. Think he is just generally fed up at the mo and ftc is just another pressure for him. We had a bit of a fall out as although I know where he is coming from I don't feel we have time to waste arguing as I will be 37 soon and I feel my window of chance is very very narrow now .

Anyway off to cheer up and do some ironing

monkeybumsmum · 30/08/2009 10:50

Ooh gosh Poppy hope the little one is okay. A couple of my friends have had babies 4 weeks early, one was fine straight away, but one spent time in an incubator, but is fine now. It must be a scary time.
My DB's girlfriends brother's wife (!!!) had twin boys born on Thursday at 7 months Apparently she wasn't well, think she had a kidney infection, so they'd fought for a little while to stave off labour - had given her steroids etc for their lungs. Must've been horrible. Anyway, the boys are very small, same as your cousins actually, and are obviously in SCBU. One of their lungs had collapsed yesterday, but I haven't heard an update Was jealous as hell when I found out they were expecting, let alone having twins, but now am just willing them all on to be okay...

Am feeling sooo much brighter today, and thank you for the lovely hug Poppy I started using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor this month, and have had my first 'peak' today which means I should be ovulating today/tomorrow. Played chess last night and two nights before that, and dh is hopefully reserving some energy for tonight so am feeling really hopeful for once.
My cycles have been so all over the place I think I've been missing it, but at least we have a bit more of a chance this month!!! Is going to be a very long 2WW!

How did your ds do in the competition Poppy? Hope he did well and you weren't too bleary eyed this morning

Off to see how dh and ds are doing - dh is building decking in the garden!!

Have a lovely Sunday all!
