A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Well ladies, I thought I'd better start us a new thread

May it bring us all good luck, see us through happier times, and at least two new bundles of joy

Hi all,

Thanks for your lovely messages of support - am feeling a bit stronger now, but totally numb with regard to my mum. We're just taking it one day at a time at the moment - everything we do is difficult

Have been feeling like I have a very heavy tummy, and it's sticking out a bit, so can't help but feel a little excited. Have got first appointment on Wednesday when I should be just six weeks. They said they want to see me for scans and blood tests every week so they can stay on top of what's going on. Not sure whether we'll be able to see anything at 6 weeks though.

How are you all? Nandos I forgot to say congratulations on your pregnancy - you must've been very surprised! Will be a lovely age gap when they're older though, and at least we can go through it together

Becky How are you doing? I hope you're okay? Are you taking anything for the PND? At least you know that's what it is, and hopefully you're getting the support you need.

Poppy How are you and ds? Hope all is well with you...

Must dash as ds is wrapping the phone cord round himself as I type and will need rescuing me thinks

Hi mbm sorry i've not been on this week. Totally agree with becky about good things coming into our lives at times when we are almost unable to cope with them. I am thinking about you all and hope you are coping at this difficult time. Take care of yourself.

Love poppy xx

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/01/2010 08:54

mbm I don't know what to say. Life has this funny way of throwing things our way, positive and negative, at the same time. No wonder you feel all over the place, you are in my thoughts right now. Take big care of yourself and give yourself time xxxx

monkeybumsmum · 23/01/2010 18:00

Ladies, just a very quick one from me - in amongst all this grief I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant. Have got a whole host of emotions flying round, and feel like I am going crazy. Just cannot cope with all this.

Thanks for your lovely messages, and yours too m2o. It's just been such an unbelievable week

monkeybumsmum · 20/01/2010 10:24

Can't believe I'm writing this but just came on to tell you I won't be around for a little while - my poor mum died yesterday and I'm back in the UK with dad and brother.

Hope you're all okay x

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/01/2010 20:23

Nandos - pregnant??? Wow! That is amazing!!!!

I'm doing ok by the way, never had any sort of depression before (perhaps a little tiny bit PND with DS1) so really unsure of what is going on and why I feel anxious, sleep a big issue for me. I've been given sleeping pills but not happy about them. I've been taking them as mum and HV insisted as I was utterly exhausted a week ago. Hope to stop taking them soon although HV thinks I need to carry on. DH is being wonderful though - he's a rock.

nandos · 14/01/2010 23:52

hello everyone

oh becky, hope the depression goes away soon..i never had it with baby but had severe deppression during early marriage days. i find it easier after talking 2 friends but took a long time for me to recover.

MBM, hows your DS? whts grommets?

Poppy, how r u doing? hope all is well.

We got back from malaysia last wk and most of us got sun tan marks. didnt expect it to be so hot but we enjoyed it
i dont know how many water slides i went but wished there was a lift or something to go up the slide rather than stairs which are like 3-5 storey high..
unfortunately dh had to go bk to UK the same night we reach home, now hes in Africa.

btw.. a bit of news from me, not good but not bad either.. maybe mix of both.
i am pregnant did a test yesterday night, played PS3 alone then looked at it and theres 2 thick lines?
my AF isnt due yet. tmr is the date and had stopped chess at CD13 so ..WHAT THE..?
can HCG be from past pregnancy? i feel a bit sad for DS hes still a small baby to me.. and to most of u i shoud think.

anyway did test cos' feeling warm, sleepy n had 2 pee all the time so it was a bit not normal. needed to clear my thoughs of 'wht if im diabetic' so tested it.
need to go now s DS v fidgety today, will chat soon nxt time..
take care

BeckyBendyLegs · 14/01/2010 17:34

Boo! Not much to report here really - been having a rather bad time - mild PND would you believe it. Suffering from lack of sleep (not because of Toby ironically). Trying to get better without resort to medication - tried to take anti-depressants but made me feel really poorly. Gosh. I think I've got this partly because I wanted Toby so, so, so badly and the shock of what it is like with a new baby has really hit me badly - it's all very surreal. Anyway, better go, busy time of day Hope you are all well.

monkeybumsmum · 03/01/2010 20:43

Becky I read your last post but didn't manage to reply at the time. Of course you have our support, although I'll bet that you are doing a fantastic job, despite what you may think.
The first 6-8 weeks are by far the hardest, and don't forget that you're suffering from lack of sleep and your body is still getting over the birth and being pregnant. Don't be too hard on yourself, and listen to your mum - she sounds like a very wise lady!!!
Pretty soon things will start to calm down, and you'll start feeling better about things I'm sure Please come on here as often as you can to have a rant etc - we shall be here willing you on. Have a big hug from me - I think you're brill

Poppy You sounded like you've been having a lovely time over Christmas, as has your ds! It's great getting to spoil them rotten isn't it! How long did he manage to stay awake for on NYE? My ds went to bed a bit late as he ate dinner with us, and then was so tired and over-excited that he didn't go to sleep for ages! Was lovely getting warm sleepy cuddles with him practically all the way up to midnight.

Nandos Hope you managed to get away on holiday, and that you're having a lovely time as I write Hope your mum is holding up okay, you must be very worried about her.
Is completely normal to be feeling broody so soon after having Ibraheem - would be great if our thread saw another BFP, although might be quite a handful for you with two tiny ones!

M2O Have been thinking about you lots in case you're still lurking x

DS is off into hospital tomorrow to have grommets put in his ears - we're leaving the house at 6am to drive through the snow to try to get there on time. Am dreading it - like any other mother I would protect him with my life, but there I am offering him up to be put to sleep and have things shoved in his ears. I'm terrified tbh. Wish they could do it to me instead
Anyway, I might not be around for the next few days depending on how he is.

Love to you all xxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/01/2010 17:35

Hi Nandos

Toby is seven weeks tomorrow! He's doing very well, sleeping better at night (although I wake at every cry throughout the night but DH sleeps through it all!). I can't believe that Ibraheem is 5 months already! And it is totally normal to feel broody already. I was broody after DS2 almost straight away...

Poppy did your DS make it to midnight? I didn't even stay up last night. I went to bed at 10.30pm! I woke briefly at midnight to hear the distant fireworks, which was quite nice, but there was no way I was staying up until midnight.

I hope that 2010 brings much to you all - we'll still keep supporting each other as always. I need your support to help me cope with three My mum keeps saying 'you're doing a great job' so why do I cry every day at how hard it is? Better go dish up DS1 and DS2's tea.

nandos · 01/01/2010 16:11

Hello everyone!

Happy New Year!
Have a great 2010 and may all of us get what we want in life and success in evrything we do..
Becky, hope u n dh n kids are doing well..baby is 6-7weeks already right? time past by so fast and now its 2010.

MBM and Poppy, hope you doing fine too. Hows your kids doing? Hope all are well.

Am relieved that mom is doing fine..excpt for a little set back. The surgry cut is still bleeding due to the heart meds making it unabl to clot but hopfully we make it for our vacation which is a day away.
Baby Ibraheem is doing well..i still cant believe hes mine and hes 5mths and 6days today..
btw pls tell m im not broody cos' hes still small and if im pregnant or wanna be pregnant again, it will be such a short gap between him n next.
also why i think like this is because a friend of mine who is in the UAE gave birth few mths back and i just got to know yesterday. didnt even know she was pregnant and after i got to know abt it, i got this look..or rather evil-eyes..
am happy for her though..she got married like 3 yrs back n just completed her studies..
anywayz have a fun time everybody and may MBM n Poppy n the rest of MN ttc get your dear babies soon.

luv,
nandos

Hi all, hope you all had a good christmas. We had lots of fun here although snow and bad weather has meant we have been cooped up a lot more than usual

Went to pantomime yesterday with ds and dm - Robinson Crusoe. Was very very funny for kids and adults

Happy Boxing Day everone

monkeybumsmum · 21/12/2009 20:56

Becky Oh, that's lovely, it must have been fab to see little Toby smiling, hooray Hope you manage to get ds1 a pressie in time!
Am not really that excited re Christmas as there just seems to be so much to do before it can happen... I wonder if they'd consider delaying it this year?
Am off to UK tomorrow straight from school, and haven't even started packing yet... House is a state and dh will be here for 2 days before joining us so will make it even messier. I need to tidy!

Poppy Your ds sounds like an absolute angel! You must be bursting with pride It's so lovely to hear about all the wonderful things he does...
Has your snow gone now? Ours is still here and am panicking about how on earth am going to get to school in the morning! It takes over an hour to get there anyway in the mornings, let alone with roads so dangerous. Hope your ds is enjoying it?

Nandos I can't believe how much you've had to go though, you poor thing and your poor family. I'm glad to hear they got the cancerous tissue out, and I wish your mum lots of luck for the next six weeks, am sure it won't be easy. The holiday sounds like a fantastic idea, and I'm sure it'll give her something to look forward to. I know exactly what you mean about how worried you were before the operation - my mum has been going through terrible operations too, and probably has a very risky one coming up next year. If I think about it am just filled with terror at the possible outcome, so am choosing to stick my head in the sand and ignore it as much as I can. Thank god your mum made it through.
Am sending you a big hug, you seem to be doing so well and staying so strong... x

Right, really must go now and start tackling stuff. In case I don't get chance to post while at mum and dad's then hope you all have a lovely Christmas (you too m20 if you're lurking) and I'll be back on when I get back next week.

Lots of love xxx

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd say hello while Toby is still asleep.

Toby smiled today for the first time

Nandos sorry to hear about your mum but good news that it hasn't spread. The next few weeks will be very hard but it's the best way to ensure the cancer is stopped. DH's grandfather is going through the same thing after being diagnosed a rare form of skin cancer on his face. My thoughts are with you and your mum.

We have no snow at all... wish we had some!

I still have to buy a present for DS1! Cutting it a bit fine, I know, but I have no idea what to get him. I've done the stockings though, which is always fun. I just hope they don't go hunting under my bed for anything as that is where all the father christmas presents are hidden.

Poppy well done your DS! He sounds a bit like my DS1. I received a letter of comendation from his school the other day for his good behaviour. Was I a proud mummy, like you, or what?

House is still a tip and even more cluttered now we have lots of presents under the tree.

Are you all excited about Christmas? This time last year my AF was 2 weeks late and I was really confused as negative pregnancy tests. It turned up just before Christmas if I remember rightly. Does not seem a year ago.

poppy27 · 18/12/2009 21:41

NANDOS so sorry to hear about your mum being so ill. It is good they have managed to remove it and hopefully the next part of the treatment will make sure it is absolutely gone. I hope you all manage to stay strong as a family to get through the next few weeks. You have had so much to contend with recently - it is so unfair. Just remember to look after each other and enjoy your son.

becky my house is also a tip with all the accumulation xmas paraphenalia and I don't have the excuse of a baby!

mbm we had tons of snow here yesterday. So much so our street got blocked off and 3 cars crashed on the hill leading up to our house.

Have been busy xmas shopping today. Not organised at all Ds had a good wk. Passed another taekwondo grading, got into golden club for good behaviour at school and last week got presented with a headteachers award at an assembly. I was v proud mum

Best be off and tidy the tip!!!!!

nandos · 18/12/2009 06:01

Hi all..sorry for not updating asap
been down with really bad cough n fever..baby also had it so hes been at home most of the time with dh while i wore a mask to hospital almost everyday to see mom.

re the lump, its found to be cancerous but the docs manage to take it out and a little bit of the surrounding tissue to be on the safe side ..luckily not the whole breast and also another good news it that it hasnt spread to the lymph nodes or other parts of the body..although she will need radiotherapy for 6 weeks..maybe even chemo depnding of the the cancer stage.
mom still in hospital due to the meds she took for her heart so need to stabilise her blood b4 she can be discharged soon.
it was a nightmare b4 the surgery cos' the consultant explained so many scenarios of what could happen at the surgery and that the cancer can spread, so much that i got a headache and got so worried abt her
anyways the plan is that after her discharge from hospital, we were thinking of going to a water games resort in malaysia in early jan with the whole family..

ok i think i've typed too much now..
hope all of you have a nice xmas n holidays n have a very Happy New Year if i couldnt come on MN b4 New Year eve

take care all..
luv, nandos
