Well ladies, I thought I'd better start us a new thread

May it bring us all good luck, see us through happier times, and at least two new bundles of joy

Ooh Becky I've just seen your message!!! You should've come with your dh - then we could have met up Grin
How long's he here for? I'm actually a little out of Brussels, but should be going into town sometime this week so I shall look out for him!

Poppy Soooo sorry I didn't reply to your last message, and you too Becky I think it's because our thread keeps dropping off the list, and me being a numpty keep forgetting to check up on what's going on. So sorry I missed you both.

Poppy That's so exciting that you met the queen! Have you got any photo's of you in your posh frock that you can post? Bet you had a lovely time! It must've been fab to go to!
Has your Gran had her op yet? If so I hope it went well? Your poor mum doing that then it being cancelled. It's ridiculous that that should happen!
Sorry to hear about your poor db too Sad It's a difficult time isn't it.

Things here are okay - some time last week I felt like I'd turned a bit of a corner, and am now feeling quite a bit better about things. I don't know what happened, I just woke up one morning and felt lighter somehow. Am glad that I didn't start on the AD's that I was supposed to be taking. I'm seeing my shrink person next week and am looking forward to telling her I am feeling lots better Smile Am sure it'll be tricky when I go back to school in September as my friends baby is due then, and I'm going to have to put on such a brave face, but I know I am strong enough now to get through it. I think time away from bumps in my face has really helped.

Anyway, hope you're all okay... Nandos you're being really quiet, is everything alright?

Love to all and I promise to check back sooner this time! xxx

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the summer hols. I'm home alone (as in without DH) at the moment and finding it quite hard without him. He's in Brussels at the moment (is that where you live, mbm if so if you see a really tall lost-looking man in a suite, with no tie (he forgot his tie), reading his iphone, then say 'hi'!).

Nandos when are you due? How are things?

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/07/2010 21:15

Hello guys! I haven't been on for ages either. It is now school hols. Day one over. Phew.

Ooooh fancy meeting the Queen and Prince Philip! My biggest claim to fame is Johnny Morris. Prince Charles once drove past the back of our primary school and we all stood and waved with home-made flags.

No major news here - Toby is now sitting by himself. No teeth yet.

poppy27 · 19/07/2010 16:14

Hi ladies

Sorry not been on for ages just seem to have been sooo busy.

Gran's op got cancelled and she got sent home from hosp that day with the lines and all drawn on her leg! Usual lack of beds. Hosp phoned me and asked if they could send her home to my house as I had her key! I nearly passed out when they phoned me at 10.30am in morn after my poor mum had got up at 5am on her last day of work before she retired and drove a 60mile round trip to take gran in to hosp for 7am!!!

After much harassment she is now booked in for end of this month (her birthday)

My poor db has also just been told the company he works for will be leaving scotland next year so they will all lose their jobs

mbm I still haven't phoned natural fertility clinic yet not really sure why I am procrastinating as it really is last chance.

I am glad your counselling seems to be helping. Things have been so tough for you this year it is good to do something positive.

becky I can't believe how time has flown and how grown up Toby must be getting. It only seems like yesterday that you were pg

nandos hope you are ok and things are progressing well.

My only bright news is that last week I attended the Royal Garden Party in Holyrood Palace and seen the Queen and Prince Philip. I got my invite due to long service as a Girlguider. Had a lovely time and wore posh frock etc. V good.

Love Poppy xx

monkeybumsmum · 13/07/2010 17:30

Hello! How are you all?

Becky can't belive Toby is almost 8 months old already! How time flies! How are you enjoying your summer holiday so far? Am presuming the boys have broken up? We finished on the 2nd July, but I haven't got a clue when the UK school finish... What have you got planned for the summer?

Poppy So sorry not to have replied sooner, both to yours and Becky's posts. I'm so sorry to hear that things have been tough with the arthritis. It must be so difficult and painful for you.
Has your gran had her op yet? If so, how did it go, and how are you managing looking after her? You have so many things going on at the moment, am thinking of you lots.
Did you go to the natural fertilty clinic? I hope they managed to give you some hope? It's awful, this not knowing whether we will be lucky enough to have another one. I'm sort of coming to the conclusion that it's never going to happen for us I never thought I'd say that, but our situation kind of points to that being the case. I am slowly starting to accept that this could be the outcome, although it is difficult. At least we have our precious ds's though.

Nandos How are you doing? We are anxious to hear how you are, so hope you come back soon to let us know!

Things are ticking along here. I've started counselling/therapy, and it feels like she's chipping away at a massive block of something inside at least. She makes me cry a lot, which I suppose has to be a good thing, but is a bit embarrasing
Anyway, I had better go and get ds some supper... Love to you all xxx

Hello everyone, how are things? We're fine here. Toby is now 7.5 months old and keeping us awake again. Maybe teeth? Who knows. He is still a complete gummy bear at the moment! DS1 and DS2 are well and happy, excited about the summer holiday coming up.

Poppy so sorry to hear about your arthritis. Oh what a strange thing to write on your form! I think you should laugh Keep a sense of humour - the only way I think.

mbm how are you doing?

Nandos when are the twins due????

We're going bathroom shopping today.

poppy27 · 20/06/2010 16:40

Hi everyone

So sorry I've not been on for ages but just seem to have had a nightmare time recently. My arthritis has flared up really badly and I have had a few hospital trips to have things injected and hands splinted which has been just marvellous!!!

Ds seems to be a bit better just now but we have a referral to ent to try and find out whats going on.

Also gran has had another date for knee op (first was cancelled due to a heart murmour) and it falls when my mum and dad are in cyprus on hol which will be a nightmare but she is having no talk of it being postponed again so July will be a fun month!

mbm I am so pleased you are getting to spend some time with your family - it must be lovely for you.

We did have tests done a few years ago and I had a lap done and apparantly we were "fine" so we were then dismissed to get on with it! Tbh am now beginning to feel tired of ftc and am thinking about one last attempt at something new. There is a natural fertility clinic in Edinburgh which sounds quite good and am thinking it may be worth our while to give that a shot before the window of opportunity closes for us!

My rheumatologist is pretty sick of me not moving on to newer drugs which may control my arthur better and she has written on my form "poppy is still doggedly trying to conceive" as the rheumy nurse showed it to me when I was at hosp getting hands injected! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry

becky hope you are getting more sleep now and feeling better. Hope all your boys are well.

nandos how many weeks pg are you now. You must be tired but excited.

Love poppy xx

monkeybumsmum · 19/06/2010 09:48

Soooo sorry Becky, I didn't see your post!!! We have all been a bit slack on this thread recently haven't we!

I can't actually write much as have got my lovely daddy here at the moment but I really hope you're all okay?

My AF has finally started btw, 10 weeks after losing the baby. Have been really worried about it! Now got quite welcome mild AF pains, bring it on!

Better dash, but will pop back soon! xxx

How is everyone?

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/05/2010 08:29

mbm I feel for you, I hope your weekend goes ok. Thinking of you.

Sorry that work is hard too. But two months off will give you some breathing space at least. We haven't much planned for the summer yet.

Nandos I hope you're ok with your growing babies!

Hi Poppy and LT

monkeybumsmum · 27/05/2010 19:52

Hi ladies
So sorry not posted sooner, how are you all? Becky are you feeling any better? I hope you are, and that sleep is coming a little easier for you now...

Poppy and Nandos How are you both?

Things here are okay. Am off to the Uk with ds tomorrow, and am dreading it. It's the first time I;ve been back since mum's funeral. Am desperate to see my dad and brother, and friends, but feel sick about walking into the house again and mum not being there
Work's been pretty awful. It's absolute torture, every second of every day. I come out every afternoon and burst into tears once I reach the car. It's awful. Only 5 more weeks to get through after this one though, and then it'll be summer hols for two months thank goodness.

Has anyone got anything nice planned for the summer? We haven't really, just the odd trip here and there. It'll be nice not to have to do anything!

Nandos When are the twins due? You must have quite a bump by now? How is ds doing? Hope you're not too tired.

Poppy Not sure if I've asked this or whether you've mentioned it but would you ever have any tests done to see what's going on? I would never have found out about my endometriosis if I hadn't gone to see someone. How is your arthritis? I hope it's under control and that you're not in too much pain. Is your ds okay? I hope so.

Hi LT if you're lurking. Lots of love as always xxx

Better go as need to sort out hand luggage bags and get the DVD player on charge for ds! Love to you all xxx

How is everyone?

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/05/2010 12:10

mbm it does make sense. The sleep and anxiety is the same for me and it does come and go. Have you tried something like hypnotherapy CDs? I think they are great and I am sure I'd be ten times worse than I am without Paul McKenna on hand.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. It'll be hard I am sure but you're strong. I think it is very positive that you are thinking about TTCing, and rightly so. I am rooting for you. And Poppy too I don't want to give you false hope but there is always hope, even if it seems like just a small glimmer. There is always hope.

Life is so strange. I feel so guilty for struggling when I have been so lucky with my babies. Why am I struggling? I really don't know. I think hormones have a lot to do with it but I feel sooooo guilty.

monkeybumsmum · 15/05/2010 10:17

Oh Poppy your poor boy Must've been very scary for you and your dh too... Is he feeling better now?
I love that you 'met' Subo!!! Yay!
I really feel for you that things are not happening. It's been such a long time now since we all met, and although it's wonderful that two of us have succeeded in having a little one, it's a very long time to keep positive about the chance for the rest of us. You just never know though. And at 38 you're still a spring chicken One of my friends didn't have her first until she was 40...

Becky So sorry that you're still having sleep and anxiety problems. I sort of know how you feel - have come off the AD's as they were knocking me out during the day, and as a result am not sleeping well at all and keep waking up. Feel like my head is surrounded by fog most of the time. Also been getting increasingly anxious over the last couple of days - think it's to do with going back to work on Monday which I am dreading
It must be v tough with dh working so much, esp today. Somehow, to me, Saturdays always seem longer than a weekday if dh isn't around. He always works on Saturdays so I'm used to it, but then I haven't got three boys to keep occupied! Am sure you're doing a fab job, even if it doesn't feel like it at times...
Bless ds3 for eating his toes, makes my heart melt just thinking about it!

Nandos How are you doing? Hope all is well?

LT Lots of love as always xxx

Well, we are all surviving here, although sometimes I feel like I'm only just keeping my head above water. Can't believe it but am thinking about ttc again Still waiting for AF though so we shall see how long that takes! I just feel desperate to get pregnant again, but oh so absolutely terrified of doing so .
Am dreading Monday and going back to work - one of the two ladies that I work with all day is pregnant (not sure if I mentioned her?) and she is due 3 days before I was Have made myself see her a couple of times over the last month so her bump is not such a shock on Monday, but everytime I think about it I feel like my heart is breaking. She's absolutely lovely though, and is very understanding, which will make it easier I hope. There is another lady at work who's pg too, due a month before the other one, so they're all going to be chatting about babies. Feel like drugging myself up on something so I don't feel anything. How on earth do I get through it? Most people don't know what happened with me, so they will probably come and tell me how blooming so-and-so is. I shall just collapse in a heap if they do that. I so wish I didn't have to go back.

Anyway, enough ranting from me... Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I shall be back soon. Lots and lots of love to you all xxx

PS Have just read back through, but head is such a mess that I can't take in what I wrote but am going to post it anyway! Hope it all makes sense, and apologies if it doesn't x

Poppy your poor DS! What a trauma for him, and you too. I hope he's ok now.

Fancy bumping into Susan Boyle in Tescos, that's funny!

DH is working all hours at the moment and I am finding that really hard. He's working tomorrow too. I hate his job sometimes I am such a computer widow.

DS3 is six months old today. He's a funny little thing. His latest love is his toes, playing with them and eating them

Poppy I was just shy of 38 when DS3 was born.

poppy27 · 13/05/2010 13:19

Hi becky sorry to hear you are still having probs re sleep/anxiety, thats horrible as it usually ends up a vicious circle. Hopefully things will settle down for you soon. It must be v hard for you having to work now as well! Hope all your boys are well

mbm hope you are coping with things. Have been thinking about you and wondering if you are alright.

nandos how was your scan? Hope your stomach probs have settled.

littletortie hope your dd had a lovely birthday
My ds will be 8 in august and I have long since gave up worrying about age gaps we are far to far along the road for that! Would still like to give him a sibling though but odds are defo stacked aginst us now as I will be 38 this yr and after many yrs of ttc think we may be coming to the end of the road just don't know if I have the energy for it anymore.

We have not had a good wk here. Ds has been having recurrent ear infections for the last year with some of them being really bad. He had one 2 wks ago and though it seemed to clear up he was still twitching etc. as if he was still having pains but he said he wasn't anyway on monday I collected him from school and he was in agony with pain in his stomach near appendix area. To cut a long story short we went to docs and were then referred to sick kids a&e in edin and after being examined having blood taken etc he was admitted for the night. It was just a nightmare as he was terrified. Poor dh had to do round trips to the house to get overnight stuff for me and ds. After a very uncomfortable night ds seemed much better and by lunchtime tues he got discharged. Apparantly not appendicitis - thank gd but a viral infec which inflamed glands in his stomach and prob followed on from ear infec!

After we came home he seemed ok then at night he was complaining of pain again so I headed down to our local tesco to get more calpol. I was rushing round with my basket and it was busy with shelf stackers and at one point I was stuck between huge cage and a wee woman browsing fish. I very politely took her by the arm and asked her to excuse me so I could get past. "no problem" said she. I thought to myself I know that voice so looked round to discover I had just manhandled "subo" aka susan boyle. Oops. But she looks lvly in real life

Anyway take care

How is everyone? mbm I've been thinking about you - how are you doing? I'm still struggling with sleep and anxiety on and off. Hey ho.

BeckyBendyLegs · 05/05/2010 12:22

Hello everyone, I hope you are all ok. Thinking of you still mbm.

Not much news from me. I have started back at work now but still struggling with anxiety and sleep on and off. Life is hectic.

littletortie · 26/04/2010 15:19

Just wanted to let you all know that I often lurk and see you are all ok- am just not very good at typing out a post

All ok here, plodding along- DD is 7 today so another year to add to that growing age gap but I dont think we mind too much anymore

love to all but a special hug for MBM....thinking of you sweets xxxxxxxxxxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/04/2010 14:10

mbm I've just re-read what I wrote and I just wanted to add that you probably do feel like you are broken now despite what I wrote and not coping but remember your hormones are all over the place at the moment and will be for a little while and that won't be helping with the sleep and your appetite as well as the grieving making your head feel all over the place right now. Take good care of yourself xx I wish I could do something to take the pain away.

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/04/2010 14:01

mbm oh big hugs. I am so glad you got to spend some time with your precious little boy - you must treasure that moment. I was thinking of you all that day and the next few days hoping you were ok. You are so strong and have been through so much this year so far and come out the other end unbroken. I am pleased you are taking things easy and taking lots of care of yourself and your little family xxxx big hugs to all of you from us.

Nandos a friend of mine had fibriods when she was pregnant too. I don't think it is uncommon. They will prbably keep scanning you to check and make sure the babies are ok.

nandos · 22/04/2010 09:55

Hi MBM
nice to see u here again..am so sorry to hear the traumatic experience
agrees with Becky re spending some time with your baby..but im sure it must be very sad for you..
we will be thinking of you always and praying that you and your family are ok. you are a very strong lady compared to me. also do eat well dear and take lots of rest ..

atm am not feeling too well on mon had severe stomach pain and had to call ambulance to take me to hosp early morn cos' couldnt get baby ready and needed my husband to go with me in case anything bad happen that day. cause of pain not known but they suspect it might be cysts or fibroids(dont know wht it is) till i get my 2nd dating scan in a couple of weeks. but thank god everything is alright with the babies. am feeling a bit better today after seeing your msgs MBM hope you keep in contact soon..

take care

monkeybumsmum · 21/04/2010 09:56

Hi Poppy Thanks so much, you are lovely. You weren't rambling at all.
Having said yesterday that I'm coping I don't really think I am. In fact everything seems to be hitting all at once and I don't know how to deal with it
Am hardly sleeping and have lost appetite which is not good as I need to eat to build myself up. Am feeling like a zombie tbh.
Thanks so much for thinking of us in your prayers. I too am thinking of you, you haven't had an easy year either Am sending you a big hug and hope to hear from you again soon.
Lots of love xxx

Hi mbm it is so good to hear from you as you have been in my thoughts and prayers all the time.

I'm so so sorry about what you have had to go through and the subsequent trauma of needing further op and more treatment. You must all be absolutely wiped out.

I think it is lovely that you got to spend some time with your baby and in the future having the footprints as a memory will be a precious memory of his little life because no matter how short that life was, he was a much wanted and longed for baby and it is good to have something concrete to remember his time with you by.

Sorry if this is slightly rambling.

I am glad to hear you are a bit better as you have really been dealt some tough blows over the past few months and it often just feels like we are being kicked while we are down.

I will continue to pray for you all. Take good care of yourselves and when you are ready it will be lovely for you to treat yourself to something nice with your dh and ds.

Love poppy xx

monkeybumsmum · 20/04/2010 08:01

So sorry not been on here recently, how are you all?

Thanks so much for your messages and for your lovely text Becky It realy helped to know you were thinking of us.

We are doing okay at the moment but it has been very tough. The actual act of giving birth was very painful (had epidural in end coz couldn't cope) and the labour ended up being 36 hours long. I did get to spend some time with our tiny boy, and I'm so glad I did. DH couldn't face it, but the lovely midwife managed to do his footprints which we are not strong enough to look at yet, but at least we have them.
I had a nightmare afterwards - came out of hospital on the Thursday evening, only to go back in with pain and high temp on the Monday. Turned out I had retained placenta so was in on IV antibiotics and then had operation on Thursday. Came out on Saturday evening feeling incredibly weak as have lost so much blood. The did give me two units of iron while I was in so am starting to feel a wee bit stronger but still very shaky.

Anyway, apart from having apparently almost lost it in hospital, I am feeling much stronger mentally. DH, DS and I are going to try to do some nice things when I'm feeling a bit stronger, so that's something to look forward to

Really hope all is well with you all? Will come back on later, but am going back to bed for a bit now... Lots of love xxx
