Here's a shiny new thread named especially for 4ever, let this be the one where we get lots and lots of new BFPs and everyone's pants get bigger

Ever onwards and upwards for all of you lovely ladies

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 24/07/2009 13:43

Ah... lunchtime at last .

Firstly Gracie - great news on your scan, wonderful news and welcome to big pantsville, pants on the left and pile cream under the shelf .

Vjay - I still miss VM too. She recommended original Emmsy's to me way back as we kept stumbling into each other on the mc threads. I'm sure its her 40th next month, really hope she is OK, as you say she was so wise, eloquent and just lovely .

4ever - the 7th part of the this thread will be upon us all ready for your BFP . Have fun at the footie and give that DH of yours a big slap and tickle from me . Both your dresses sound gorgeous, its nice to treat ourselves back and forward. I mean my DH spends £600 a year on golf fees so I see that as my unofficial clothing allowance equivalent . We do have our own bank accounts for stuff like that tho' so can't sneak it under the radar from the joint one - hurrumph.

Annie - been thinking about you all morning and hope all OK. I really love 'Oliver' and its no.1 on my list at the mo' .

MLS - your DD sounds like a 'mini-me' of you - and I mean that as a compliment! Her vocab is fab for her age - horlicks! . Loved the link to the poster, I'm sure my big cousin had that up in his bedroom beside his 'Sex Pistols' one (I was madly in love with him when I was eight ). He taught me all the dirty words to 'Friggin in the Rigging' by the SP - mother was not amused . Ahem, I digress...

Iggy - hope you get a good trial next week - yikes! all very John Grisom...

Neeko - what a lovely friend you are worrying about your friend. Third trimester bleeding isn't uncommon, although still scary. I'm sure they will be keeping a close eye on her and baby.

Barbie - your lunch sounds a hoot, lots of highly flammable material on the go there - whoa!

Ah well lunch over, back to business x

cupcakefairy · 24/07/2009 13:25

No news by text from annie yet? Hope she's ok.

VJaybigpants · 24/07/2009 11:36

gracie so pleased the scan went well , feel free to update the list and join the bigpanters.

blue your post really touched me, I forgot your mc happened at that time. I do remember just after my 2nd mc you announced your pg and I remember seeing you on the telly thinking 'wow she's pg, how lucky', but your pg really spurred me on, and now look at me. I hope we all help each other like that
The other thing is I am very aware that the lovely vm was pg at the same time as me, and do wonder if that's why she hasn't been back, I totally understand and do miss her wise words.

iggy me and little optimus are just fine thanks

sabs lovely pic, it's nice to put a name to the face, you look so happy and relaxed

Blue you put that so succinctly about our wonderful all embracing site my darlin! Its truly amazing & couldnt have been organised, the way its fallen into place & we are all so aware of each other is unique and a true blessing to all of us.. Your dress sounds fabtastic! I splurged last fri on a £150 gorgeous purple silk trapeze dress reduced to £45 in debenhams for a family wedding on 8th aug, couldnt decide between that & a julian mcdonald body con dress in lovely sage green so got that too! . Havent splurged in a looong time!

cupcakefairy · 24/07/2009 10:33

Morning all
gracie fantastic news!! So will you be moving into those big pants?? so pleased for you!

Neeko ha! That cracked me up you saying we want to see curly's boobs..and her face as an afterthought! Sorry about your friend but glad she is chilled about it even if you are a nervous wreck! How's the potty training going by the way?

Loved your pic sabs and I agree, barbie we want to see the tacky tennis gear for sure!!

Hi curly! Oooh spa weekend that sounds lush! Hope it's really relaxing.

Hi moon glad you are still lurking even when you feel you can't post. Been thinking about you lots.

blue I agree your post was so touching! I think this group really is very unique on MN in that we all stick together through, as you say- bereavement, ttc and pregnancy. I feel v lucky to be part of it

Hi iggy how are you today? Hope your conference was good yesterday!

Hello to everybody else and a virtual hand for you to hold annie and so glad curly's sister's advice reassured you

Neeko · 24/07/2009 10:14

Ginger Thanks for the reassurance. More worried for my future honorary niece/nephew ATM than for it hapening to me.

I watched with mixed emotions last night too. I don't know what I believe the upper limit to be and think I agree with the programme that it should be taken on a case by case basis, but do think the UK lady is too old. Was crying at the Spanish lady though.

Neeko · 24/07/2009 10:08

Ok, now I can post to the rest of you

Budhabelly I soo love your new name. My other gran has a budha figurine and everytime I see your name I think of it. How far along are you now?

MLS My friend only has 9 weeks to go. They scanned her two days in a row and part of the placenta is obscured but they don't think it's placenta previa. It was just a shock because I always think of her as the one with the baby who's survived but I'm sure if the hospital's happy all is fine. I burst out laughing at your DD. Well done on the quick thinking. Who says that naughty word in your house?

MrsKate My fingers are still firmly crossed. Seems quite positive that your symptoms are constant.

Curly another mammoth post. You're so good. Less of the Peeko though!Bless your DH too. We want to see a pic of your HUGE boobs (and your face)

moon Nice to see you posting again and sounding a bit better. What type of dogs do you have? I don't mind dogs but would never actually have one. Shame though as DD loves them.

barbie Nice to know you're no longer considering flashing your bum now you're pg! Enjoy the party.

Annie Still rooting for you. Not long to go now.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're having productive enjoyable days.

gingermumi · 24/07/2009 10:02

Hope you're resting not working sabs!

gingermumi · 24/07/2009 10:01

x post!

fab news from gracie!

SabsBigPants · 24/07/2009 10:00

thanks neeko

Have actually been off sick since wednesday, not with the swine, but just plain old boring flu, it always happens to me when im doing too much and going out a lot that i just get run-down and fall ill. Thought I would work a few hours today (from home) but if i feel weak, will just stop and sleep..

Hope you're well...You too budda

gingermumi · 24/07/2009 09:59

morning ladies, yet again am supposed to be working while ds asleep but have been catching up with mn instead, oh well!

Blue- dress sounds amazing, i should go for it, bugger the cost, we all deserve nice dresses!

Gracie and Annie, hope all goes well today

Sabs- you look lovely!

Neeko, am feeling more positive today, watched Oldest Mums programme ! Try not to fret about what your friend told you A) it doesn't mean it will be anything serious and B) it doesn't mean it will happen to you. Take care and do something nice to take your mind of it (eating chocolate and watching daft daytime telly does it for me!). Just read that back - i sound so bossy! Not meant to be- was trying to be reassuring! Just take care

Hoping- hope your cats are ok, you're so lucky to have kittens, I have three cats all mad! My mum is getting a cat from a rescue centre this weekend as hers recently died. it also has three kitten, I'm trying to convince her to have one of the kittens too!

MLS at bollocks, ds says something that sounds like 'shit', could be anything but am hoping he doesn't decide to shout it in asda!

Barbie- please, please send us some pics!

Budha,- you have posted on here under your new name. Hope you're ok.

On the 'Older Mothers' thing- i was surprised by the mixed emotions I had towrds it! In India it didn't seem so bad- the cultural pressures to have a family are huge but more importantly their society is structured for support and clearly the child was part of a community that would naturally turn to its care should anything happen to the mother (mind you didn't think much of mum having to work in the fields at 70, while dad seemed to sit around!). However, the UK lady who was 72 just seemed selfish and at the very least misguided in her motivation, i wanted to scream at her 'you made a choice to pursue a career, you're educated and informed, you knew it wouldn't be a good idea to leave it to your fifies! and after 5 tries at IVF isn't your body telling you something!'. The American mum seemed young at 54 in comparison and i just felt so sad for the Spanish lady, i read somewhere that the fertility drug had caused her tumor, that is so tragic.

Anyway, really must do some work!

Neeko · 24/07/2009 09:55

Lol Sabs I was just coming to do the same! Guess gracie's excited and wanted us all to know Fab news!
BTW lovely pic Sabs and what a gorgeous bump. Hope you're keeping well. Won't be long now.

BuddhaBelly · 24/07/2009 09:50

SabsBigPants · 24/07/2009 09:44

SabsBigPants · 24/07/2009 09:42

Just got a text from gracie to say all's well with her scan . She's going to see her parents but will be on here later on

BuddhaBelly · 24/07/2009 09:32

Gracie & Annie Good luck for the scans today, will try and catch up properly later but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you both x
Blue Fab news on your results

Oh and can't remember if I've posted on here with name change before but it's Mollie had to change due to personal circs x

GracieGirl · 24/07/2009 08:04

Morning all! I wish I'd have know you were all around last night chatting, I attempted an early night instead but didn't sleep that well.
Setting off for my scan in about 10 mins, thank you everyone for their kind thoughts. Curly I'll text you to update everyone on Mumsnet for me as I'll need to visit my parents to update them before coming home.

Moon dogs are great, I've never been able to have one due to working 12.5 hour shifts and DH being away so I borrow everyone elses! I have 5 "time share" dogs who I borrow when I have time. one is which is Kate's lovely Dolly the Collie.
