Your greenhouse does sound so lovely mermaid, when we have a new thread, lets make it in a greenhouse, with watering cans full of sparkling wine juice, and lots of chocolate

Well I've decided to go with reusable nappies this time round, and I'm going to use the classic terrys, wish me luck

mermaidspurse · 14/07/2009 19:29

mrskate oh blimey your poor dh I so hope he feels better soon Is that why he was soo down maybe kate?
My little sister has been told to keep her kids at home this week as staff at her dh office have the flu. They are just waiting and hoping for the very best. I think I will just stay in my greenhouse.

MrsKate · 14/07/2009 16:39

thanks hoping xxxxx

hopingalways · 14/07/2009 16:27

mrskate check this page lots of useful answers.

I do business resilience for a living, so been following swine flu since it broke in March. If you do not have symptoms after being around someone who has probably been infectious for 10 days or more, chances are you will be OK. It's still early days as far as judging the impact of swine flu, esp on pgs, but generally the risk with flu is fevers - the link should help better than I could

GracieGirl · 14/07/2009 16:20

Just spoken to Barbie on Facebook, she says to say hello to everyone and she'll be back on Friday for lots of talking. She says she feels very pregnant!

MrsKate · 14/07/2009 16:02

he is taking tamiflu went to get it earlier

GracieGirl · 14/07/2009 15:48

x posted Mrskate - has it been confirmed as swine flu or GP just guessing? Remember you can't take Tamiflu if you are pregnant.

GracieGirl · 14/07/2009 15:44

MrsKate has he got symptoms or just been exposed to it at work? My guess is it won't effect his sperm anymore than any other flu, though he's unlikely to be in the mood if he has flu.

MrsKate · 14/07/2009 15:42

im not sure hes had syptoms this whole week so if i get a bfp this month hes had swine flu

VJaybigpants · 14/07/2009 15:27

oh mrskate your poor dh, I hope he's ok. I don't know about ttc and swine flu, or with any flu to be honest, but I'm sure he won't feel up to it

MrsKate · 14/07/2009 15:22

hi girls

gracie give Mrs J a bit hug from me when you see her xxxxxxxxx

still no ov i bloody bloody give up this game .

hopingalways · 14/07/2009 14:59

weirdly I was fine after my first mc, I kind of expected to have one over the course of the 4 or 5 lo we intended to have, just pleased to know we could get pg, and reckoned that having had one mc the odds of having another were so small I could just enjoy the 2nd pg from the word go.

When I lost the 2nd the whole world ended.

Since then haven't dared expect there will ever be a baby hopingalways in the world as I can't face feeling that way again.

this helping people with MCs would be so much easier if we all felt the same way when they happened!

(hugs) to you all ladies

VJaybigpants · 14/07/2009 13:37

Thanks ladies, you do make me , and loving that you'll all be cyber aunties
blue I agree with you over the 2nd mc, I broke my heart first time round, but bounced back a lot quicker second time. As for the buggy, I got a mammas and papas one that folds down really small, due to the travelling we do back and to to Cheshire, in fact we are planning a trip in October, do you think that's a bit mad, the baby will be about 6 weeks old!

Congrats to your friend gracie and fingers crossed for the next few crucial weeks for her.

Having a nice chilled out day today, I slept well last night, thanks to gaviscon

bluesatinsash · 14/07/2009 12:25

Ah Gracie - that's lovely news about your friend. Big 'Hi five's' to her . You and her can 'do coffee' once your lo's are here [yummy mummy emotion].

You still going to see Duran Duran on Thurs? Its all over the papers up here. Mark Ronson (him of uber trendy producer status) is guest appearning as he's producing their new album. Hope the weather stays nice for you . Where are you staying?

GracieGirl · 14/07/2009 12:16

I've just spoken to my friend who's had the IVF after TTC for 4 years, she's just got a BFP!! Bless her she's bouncing around like a loon! Its quite refreshing to hear someone able to enjoy every second of their pregnancy cos they're not damaged like us lot!

Jools I'm sure they could check Hcg too.

I've got everything crossed for more BFP's on our thread.

Joolsiam · 14/07/2009 11:18

Iggy

Your comment "Don't really feel sick today - so think symptoms gone - and not feeling hopeful any more... might test tomorrow tho - really not sure how I managed to not try this morning... "

Describes me exactly. I still feel vaguely nauseous, but am not convinced any more. Hopefully just a blip but I'm trying to be realistic.

Tomorrow would be the first day that a First Response test could possibly register a BFP for me - think I will try it, since I'm going over to the recurrent MC clinic to repeat the hormone blood tests they did 6 weeks ago (not sure why, but not arguing !) and maybe they could test HCG if I ask nicely

iggypiggy · 14/07/2009 11:08

4ever what you went through last year sounds appalling am with everyone else - this deserves to be your month. And someone I know gave birth recently after 4 MCs before that pregnacy - so am hoping that will be what happens for you xxxx

Don't really feel sick today - so think symptoms gone - and not feeling hopeful any more... might test tomorrow tho - really not sure how I managed to not try this morning...

4everhopeful · 14/07/2009 10:59

Thanks Blue and Gracie.. Im really not one to go fishing for sympathy, but today its very appreciated! My mat leave for no4 would of been in next few weeks too, but like you Blue I think after no3 my heart hardened a bit & i tried to slow down the 'what ifs'... Funnily enough Iv had some wierd vivid dreams (NOT symptom spotting - I refuse!) why does preg head give mad dreams tho? Strange that, specially yours Blue Bruce looked in top form at Glasto (on telly!) Have a fab time tonight!

bluesatinsash · 14/07/2009 10:32

oh 4ever , leeking boobs is so so cruel on top of everything else... You really have been to hell and back. I think its a credit to you and your lovely DH that you're still strong, working together, supporting each other, batting away insenitive comments. I truly wish you get your BFP this month and you can move swiftly into big pant terrain.

I should be on mat. leave for 2nd lost angel (edd 1st Aug). TBH I don't think about it, think my heart hardened after first one that 2nd one didn't take up much space in my head or I would have completely fallen apart. We all cope in different ways...

DH and me are off to see Bruce Springsteen tonight, can't wait - had mad dream about seeing him last night and Keith Richards was sitting behind me and had had his toe nail replaced - WTF?! I want some sexy dreams please!!

to gracie cupcake hoping Jools (head in sand is good technique for this week!) and everyone else x

GracieGirl · 14/07/2009 09:57

Morning ladies! DH hogged my computer doing work stuff since 7am this morning so just sneaking on quickly whilst he's doing the paperwork bit.

4Ever sounds like you had a truely horrible time getting to 13 weeks before losing your LO. I'm so proud of you for actually managing to be at work and do an impression of normal.

Hoping I would have started maternity leave yesterday too with my previous LO, it feels very strange. I think with my bleeding over the weeknd I'd forgotten what day it was. (not sure I knew what planet I was on either!)
Hoping I'm not sure the letting only friends see your pictures thing works. I'll remove you from my friend briefly, let me know how many pictures you can see of me. There should be one on the front page and 3 on the Gracie's pictures bit.

Jools I hope the last few days of your 2WW fly by!

Waves to Cupcake and Blue.

4everhopeful · 14/07/2009 09:20

Thanks Jools & Hoping for the support & back up, not stalker like, friend like! Think its just hard for me cos in work the 'normal act' is on & no-one has the foggiest, but a bit of me wants to stand on desk & tell everyone! Just cathartic to talk about it I think..

Jools Im holding out we are the lucky ones this month...

Hoping re piccie posting I managed to on my profile by sheer luck! Think theres step by step guide but maybe wait for a more tecchie emmsys for advice!

Joolsiam · 14/07/2009 08:55

4Ever I never knew the full details What a hellish time indeed.

Vjay - you do realise that this baby of yours will have LOTS of cyber aunties who want to see oodles of pics and hear all about the early weeks

Have driven myself to the asylum and back - now sticking my head in the sand for a few days ...

4everhopeful · 14/07/2009 08:44

Morning ladies! Posts are few & far between on these summer months arent they?!

Just wanna echo whats been said Vjay Im so pleased you are sharing your journey with us cos you are our hope & inspiration & im so excited that its only 6 weeks to go! You must continue to share all your newborn stories with us too!

Mermaid nice to see you back lovey xx Ditto on time out... Glad you feel chilled & im just loving 'muddling slong'!

Gracie Im almost right there in the room with you! Really relate to what you are going through right now.. Just sleep as much as poss & zone out on books/mags/crap telly to distract (as well as MN of course!)

Hope our symptom spotters Iggy & Jools arent sending themselves too mad!

MLS hope you are being gentle on yourself xx

Big hugs & waves to Cupcake remember you could be on first days of your new pregnancy now!

Mrskate glad you are getting some BD action! Hope DH is feeling more upbeat & on the road onwards & upwards with the rest of us!

Thanks all for letting me vent yesterday! (again!) Felt bad cos MIL popped in with some wine glasses she brought us as a gift last night & was so sweet! She is lovely & must remember that those that havent been through mc think they are saying the right thing, even if their not I know she just wants us to be happy.. Trying not too dwell on anniversary of no3 tommorrow but hard not too think 'this time last year...' Its the one that affected us most deeply as we had weekly scans, it got furthest along, had bleeding scares & nuchal scan scares & after I had erpc my boobs leaked milk for about 2wks which was mortifying, & on top of all that they didnt get it all out at first erpc so I needed another one 6 wks later which meant I bled for about 8wks in all. One of the most truly hellish times of my life - this time last year. Im sure you all understand the need to talk about it & aknowledge it... You're the only ones I can really do it with who truly understands (apart from DH).. xx

hopingalways · 14/07/2009 08:29

aww cupcake your post made me a little teary - it's amazing how just little things suddenly remind us of what "should have been". Keeping thanking god work is so insane at the moment, stops me thinking how soon my lo would have been with us Hope you are feeling a bit better today

we've so got to have a Cardiff meet up!

gracie 10 weeks! that is so exciting I think the terror doesn't subside until you have your lo in your arms, but at 10 weeks your odds are fantastic!

all you bigpanters stay with us! Really enjoy seeing it work out for you lucky ladies.

4ever your MIL that's so insensitive of her to make you feel bad for what is not your fault! . when people know why longed for babbies aren't here already what on earth do they hope to gain by making you feel worse about it than you already are? You've been through so much, I get quite upset when there are people who aren't giving you the support you deserve. (apologies if that makes me sound like a scary internet stalker or something )

on a different note - how do you put piccies up on mn? And is there are way to do it so it's only visible to people you are happy to see it?

cupcakefairy · 13/07/2009 19:37

Vjay we're v glad you've stuck with us! I know I haven't been on here that long but it's so lovely to have you and the other big panters as the success stories and follow the journey with you, panics and all! so sweet about your ds being all excited by he way

Gracie 10 weeks, so exciting...really hope the next two fly by for you! (Unlikely I know!!)

Hi Mermaid glad you are feeling all Zen and unpressured I intend to follow your example! (though I can't promise to forget my cd, have spent too long doing Natural Family Planning for that to happen!)

Ooh Jools it does seem a Cardiff meetup could be on the cards! Cool

I have just put a choccie cake in the oven and relished licking the spoon, which I wouldn't have been able to do had I been 24 weeks today not that I'm still counting or anything!)... small consolation?
