are you going to walk the dog via a chemist by any chance

GracieGirl · 25/07/2009 10:19

Barbie have a big hug from me. Yes we all know its impossible not to worry ourselves to death. I hope the time flies by until you get a scan, though thats another thing that we all know - time slows down when we're waiting for a reassurance scan.

MrsKate is on her way round to my house with Dolly the Collie, hoping a walk might calm her nerves a bit.

barbie1 · 25/07/2009 10:15

Im here (weak smile)

In limbo...not really with it today i have googled, cried, searched mn, googled and cried some more....bloody horror-mones (my new name for hormones!)

Thankyou all for trying to reassure me, but as you all know its hard not to freak out. The earliest i can get a scan is on monday, so ill hang in there until then and will try not to let it get the better of me. I think i was more concerned with the lack of symptoms, along with the new back ache and then the dischage...
mrskate where are you????

Neeko · 25/07/2009 09:39

Morning. Just checking in to see how Barbie is today.

Gracie stay on medium pants as long as you like. I like being in your gang.

Kate well?

Vjay just relax and put your feet up today.

Have a great day today everyone. We're off to my brother's birthday BBQ so I'll probably catch up with you all on Sunday.

GracieGirl · 25/07/2009 09:06

Vjay you are so right, it doesn't feel real at all, like it still might go wrong at any point. Maybe a couple more weeks with the medium panters and you never know I might upgrade myself.

Barbie how are you this morning?

Kate did you test?

VJaybigpants · 25/07/2009 09:03

gracie I will do as you say . I did buy some extra big joggers yesterday, so will get them washed ironed and put into my hospital bag, it's getting there!
You stay put til you feel ready to join the big panters, I know how you feel, you reach the magic 12 weeks, but it still doesn't feel 100% does it. It felt a lot more real to me when my bloods came back after 16 weeks with low risk, I felt myself start to relax a little then, the next milestone was 20 weeks, half way, then 24 weeks, viable should anything happen. It seems like forever, but the, I could do with it slowing down a bit!

GracieGirl · 25/07/2009 08:57

Does anyone mind if I stay in the medium pants bit for a little while longer? I'm still a lot bit nervous and feel somehow that moving myself to the Big Pants zone is for once you're feeling confident its all going to happen.

Went out for dinner with DH, my parents, my brother and girlfriend and her parents last night. My parents and brother+girlfriend already knew due to the amount on hospital runs I've managed during this pregnancy and they only live about a mile away. Brother's girlfriend asked if she could tell her parents, I agreed so thats 2 more people who know, though I'd never met them before last night so maybe they don't count!! Its a bit like telling the shop assistant in Next really isn't it!

GracieGirl · 25/07/2009 08:47

Morning Vjay. I vote the best plan is for you to put your feet up and do none of that useful stuff you're supposed to be doing! Though perhaps add a few extra items to that hospital bag!

VJaybigpants · 25/07/2009 08:41

Morning,
annie so pleased your scan went well, and another boy too, fab

sabs hope you're feeling better today, and don't feel bad for resting, you should be putting your feet up at every oportunity, I do

barbie I've had coloured discharge now and then throughout this pregnancy, the mw's seem to think it's normal, try not to worry

mrskate I bet you're going to do a test this morning I would!

curly I hope vm is pregnant too, and someday we'll 'meet' again

neeko blue was interviewed by the news programme in her home town, and her ds made his tv debut too, it was really cute. It was in the winter sometime cos I remember she was wearing a wooly hat! I'm sure she'll be along to correct me

What's everyone up to today? I feel in a limbo, there's too much to do so I feel like not doing any of it

GracieGirl · 24/07/2009 23:58

Just off to bed. MLS thinking of you whilst you have your break from mumsnet.

Barbie I've had lots of episodes of brown discharge since that bleed at 9 weeks and just decided to ignore them as I'd already had a scan at 9 weeks for the bleeding and I doubted I'd get another before todays scan. Try not to worry and speak to your doctor in the morning about a scan. Big hug xx

Moon a big hug for you too.

Neeko Yes I'll have a computer but Mumsnet is barred across the whole hospital so still can only mumsnet at home.

Really tired, will post more in the morning.

Curlywurlee · 24/07/2009 23:30

Still not in bed moon denzel washington is on Jonathan Ross and I couldn't leave. I'm such a big fan. Oh my god now Aha are on. Morten used to be my greatest love when I was 12 (well except for mcgyver )

well done for getting through today moon. It will be you with the bump some day soon, even if it doesn't feel like it right now. Hey big hugs honey, look after yourself this weekend xxx

OP posts:
BlueMoon1981 · 24/07/2009 23:00

hello curly how are you today?

neeko so far it is only very light and brown like the first few hours of an af. i'm a bit but will see what happens over the weekend and call gp on monday if i need to. feels like everything is ok, i'm more annoyed than anything else.

mls i completely understand where you are coming from. sometimes this is the best and worst place to be at the same time, lovely for all the support you get, but sad because we are not medium or big pants, and i think it can be a bit overwhelming at times. don't stay away for too long, look after yourself x

i had to do some work with the most pg lady in the office today usually we don't have too much to do with each other, but she is lovely and we chat sometimes. but today i just sat looking at her big bump trying not to stare and trying to look as if i was helping her out with her questions

Curlywurlee · 24/07/2009 22:47

Night neeko I'm off to bed too

I won't be around over the weekend but will be back on Sunday to catch up properly with everyone xxx

Neeko · 24/07/2009 22:41

Hi Curly you're such a cheery lady I have a mental picture of you standing on a desk announcing your pg at work whilst everyone's chin hits the floor! Won't be long til you're announcing it for real but hope you'll be more subtle.

Moon sorry I missed your crisis Is it proper bleeding or just spotting? Remember your body's been through a lot recently but I'd check with your doc just to be sure. Take care.

Gracie also meant to say great news on job. I'm assuming you'll have a computer with MN access - it's a deal breaker.

Right I'm off to bed. My lovely mum and dad came home from holiday tonight and I can't wait to see them tomorrow. Sweet dreams all, especially those of you who need them most.

Curlywurlee · 24/07/2009 22:26

Big hello to gracie and annie. Did you get scan pics? I feel awful that I wasn't able to post, or even look at my phone. I should have known, it's normally hard enough to get near MN at work, but today was just ridiculous. I felt like screaming 'preggers lady here - need to eat some bread and check my phone' but I guess the shock might have been too much for senior management So so pleased for you both though

gracie I'm so happy you will be away from the swine flu patients, and working normal hours

mrskate that is very very promising honey I am crossing fingers toes arms legs and making dh do the same Good advice from Neeko though, keep your feet up and thoughts grounded till you know for sure. when are you going to test?

Moon hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy your me time and shopping the dogs sound adorable. My DH keeps threatening to get two as well, so that they could keep each other company I'm sorry I don't know why you would have bleeding midcycle, but maybe things are still getting back to normal

sabs what a lovely picture Was that taken in India? Hope you feel better soon xxx

neeko I likes your porn name Btw I don't think my massive boobages and my face would fit into the same photo

blue am still thinking about your lovely post. It is amazing how much I've come to rely on this thread

4ever fab work shopping. I love the solution to not having to decide between dresses - buy them both have a great weekend lovely lady. Hope tew stays away xxx

iggy jury service, that sounds exciting. Take copious notes and then cupcake can use it for her next novel Don't go too far, we'd miss you xxx

vj I miss VM too. I have a secret hope that she is pregnant and happy and will pop back some day

barbie try not to worry honey though I know that's really hard. I've had some really weird discharge over the last couple of weeks, sometimes a bit yellow, even a bit of brown. Get that scan brought forward if you can just so you can relax Thinking of you xxx

MLS it must be so hard to be on this thread sometimes for you and moon in particular. Please lurk when you can though even if you don't feel like posting because we'll miss you lots and will be thinking of you xxx

hoping stupid AF, I hope it isn't her this time

Big waves to buddha and everyone I have missed

Neeko · 24/07/2009 22:08

Kate I did a bit of searching too and it does sound promising. are they going to take your bloods again next week? I'd buy a couple of 1st response tests if I were you (I'm assuming you're too impatient to wait for a normal test to work?)
BTW sometimes it's easier to see a very early result if you take the test apart. So I've heard

Neeko · 24/07/2009 21:59

A bit up and down really. Finding the hormones a bit tough especially as my DH has been working so much. He must have picked up on the vibes though as he came home at a reasonable time tonight and took us all out to dinner. Was exactly what I was needing.

Think how nice your bathroom is going to be for your lo. I have video footage of giving my DD a tour of our old house as soon as we got home from the hospital. A nicely tiled bathroom will look great on video, especially if your DH remembers to clean it first!

SabsBigPants · 24/07/2009 21:54

a bit better thanks neeko I need to be out of the house by 8am tomorrow morning as we have builders over to tile the bathroom, and a pregnant woman needs a bathroom!

How has your day been?

Neeko · 24/07/2009 21:43

X post Sabs That one took me a while. Are you feeling any better tonight?

Neeko · 24/07/2009 21:42

I go out for dinner and all hell breaks loose! One crisis at a time, please!

Barbie There's nothing I can say to stop you panicking so please get in touch with your gp as soon as possible. have you been taking baby asprin? Some of the girls mentioned they thought it caused spotting. Sending you a big hug, pg friendly sleeping tablet, ear plugs and eye mask so you can make it all go away until you can do something about it.

MLS Have emailed you a reply but just for the record, I know exactly where you are right now and I'm sure within a few days you'll be back and ready to do battle with gusto. Take care.

Hoping So sorry to hear of impending AF. Have a big bar of chocolate and a Baileys and give your lovely DH a cuddle. All will work out in the end, I'm sure.

Kate big deep breaths and try to keep everything in perspective. At the moment we know your body is trying to be pregnant (hence the slightly raised levels) so put your feet up, try not to stress and let it do it's job. Hopefully by the time your AF is due you'll be clutching a BFP. (Just in case remember I had a VERY faint positive last cycle that didn't develop and then a BFP this cycle. I like to think it was my body practising. I know that's not what you want but I'm trying to be positive from all angles)

Gracie Glad to hear you're starting to embrace this pregnancy. Do you think you might join an antenatal thread now? (I find them really scary)

Annie Still soo pleased for you. Hope you and all your boys sleep well tonight

SabsBigPants · 24/07/2009 21:28

MLS take care of yourself. Would be nice to see you back, but of course when you are ready. I'll be thinking of you..

hopingalways · 24/07/2009 21:01

yay gracie and annie so pleased for the news!

mls we shall miss you, come back soon yes?

spotting has started so think AF is on her way I am swinging between it's all ok, always next month and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGG I just want a baby!

DH has patience of patron saint of patience...

MummyLovesSadie · 24/07/2009 20:38

Congratulations to Gracie & Annie, so pleased your scans were the best possible outcome. MrsKate it sounds like you are the next one to be getting congratulations.

I think I might take a step back from mn for a bit. I've been finding the last couple of days quite tough, it would have been my scan date today. I just need to get my head & my life back on track & then I'll be back. I want to concentrate more on rl & my head needs to be less in a place where ttc & pregnancy are the forefront. I'll be lurking I'm sure. XX

anniebigpants · 24/07/2009 18:46

Barbie-Easier said than done but try not too panic hun, symptoms do come and go, i too had some yellowy/brown discharge in this pregnancy, excess discharge especially after 10 weeks is also very common.Sending you a big hug, and any chance you could get your scan brought forward to tomorrow or Sunday for reassurance, im sure all will be well though X

anniebigpants · 24/07/2009 18:43

Moon-Hello hun, thanks for congrats, i would have don e the same as you, took both dogs as im soft like that, i love dogs but we both are out of the house most of the day so it wouldnt be fair on the dog, ive got 3 cats though!
Re the bleeding restarting, im afraid ive had no experience of that hun, so am not sure if its 'normal' or not, someone will be along soon with hopefully some knowledge /experience of this.

MrsKate-If i was you i would test first thing Sunday morning, make sure you dont have too much fluid before you go to bed on Saturday night, so urine will be nice and concentrated.
