Hello folks . I've cheered up a bit now...

Ready so glad everything is going so well .

Thank you everyone else for being so supportive. I'm only on day 4 of my 2ww!! Maybe Day 6 if I am counting from EC..., still no testing till at least next Wednesday!

My boss is away on holiday and I am in charge so work is super stressful , not really compatible with being all calm and serene and creating a nice environment for Embies to want to hang out in.... Still, I really feel that what will be will be and as long as I behave myself and don't act like a fool, I can't make much of a difference now. I am trying to plan lots of things to distract me for the next week...Hope it goes quickly.

Do we want to have a pre christmas meet up? I haven't seen Mrs H, Caitni and DG in ages and it would be great to meet you in person MOB. Ei, its probably a bit far to come if unless you have a London trip planned but if you do let us know. RFN2&£ not sure where you are and you sound super busy but you are more than welcome to join us. JB, O7MTW and anyone lurking who we know and love you are welcome too. xx

readyfornumber2and3 · 24/11/2009 08:30

Bucky Sorry ET was unpleasant but yay for having to on board You never know you may be joining MOB and myself in the hard slog of multiples

MrsH Hope everything is clearing up with dd2 and that she is feeding better, how is dd1 enjoying her little sister?

Caitni Glad you are getting to cross things off your lists (I always have multiple lists on the go lol) and your little one will be here before you know it

DG Hope things are ok for you x

EI How are you? How is the weightloss going? Love your description of childbirth x

MOB How are the boys? cant believe how fast they are growing up!

Hi to anyone else I have forgotten x

Well things are very busy in the ready household (nothing new there!!) as we are in the middle of moving house, we got the keys on friday but its been a slow process as my Mum had a knee operation last monday and is unable to help with the kids so its took longer than we hoped but we should be done by the weekend, we need to be anyway as dps Dad is visiting saturday and his Mum on sunday!

I cant believe we get married 2 weeks monday it has come round so quick! My dress has arrived and fits really well so the dieting seems to be working (have lost 21 lbs in 4 weeks)

The twins are doing really well and are getting really cute with all the smiles and gurgling and as they only wake once in the night we are keeping on top of our sleep lol

ds1 has calmed down and is lovely with them now and loves cuddling upto them

I have done all my christmas shopping and just need to wrap it all and then do the big shop before we host christmas lunch and a party boxing day! I cant wait for a rest in the new year lol

Madoldbird · 23/11/2009 11:27

Bucky I checked in on friday, but haven't had time to post. Sounds like it was a horrible experience for you, but i'm pleased that you now have 2 safely on board (and don't worry about grading - we were told that there is little difference between success rates for all but the "worst" grade).

Sorry - got to dash - I'm being summoned as usual!

Caitni · 22/11/2009 19:48

Evening ladies

Bucky I'm so sorry that ET was so horrible . Still, hope it's (becoming) a distant memory now that you have the pair of them safely on board . I agree with the others (and especially Lottie over on Assisted Conception) re the grading. The consultant and embryologist I spoke to both agreed that there was no better environment for the embryos than the mother's womb, as everything else is an approximation. So they are really in the best place for them . I'm keeping everything crossed for you that you get the positive result you deserve

Digi hope the spotting stops soon xx

Ei loved your description of child birth

MrsH hope your family is thriving - LOVED the latest pictures on FB. P is one cute little baby (I was aaaahing so much that my DH actually had to sneak a look too ).

Big waves to everyone else. Hope everyone has had a good weekend. We've had a lovely weekend here, just me and DH (for the first time since early Sept!), and managed to get some baby organising in (we bought the car seat! And sorted some other stuff, so suddenly can start crossing things off my (many) lists )

PandaEis · 21/11/2009 09:05

hi ladies

bucky poor you i can assure you that in comparison to childbirth, i would definitely say that having a catheter put into your cervix with a full bladder is worse!! i was DYING for a wee while having my HSG and it was not pleasant!! CB is suchan empowering and urge-led experience and i am 100% sure you will do great when giving birth to the little bean growing inside you now as you are now, for all intents and purposes, pregnant!! get your feet up

xx ei xx

MrsHappy · 20/11/2009 20:31

Bucky that sounds no fun. IME if people are messing about with my cervix it really helps to be relaxed (lots of deep breathing), which of course it would be flipping hard to be if you needed to pee. I know bugger all about embryo grading, but there is this website which I have looked at for lots of things over the past couple of years. It says that 2 cells after 48 hours is fine. Please don't fret- I really doubt that embryos can be judged purely on their looks.

And for the record I can promise that childbirth (even though I haven't done the crowning bit ever!) is now't like having a catheter put through your cervix! For a start, it is something your body wants to do! When it comnes to it you'll be fine .

DG glad you are ok.

digitalgirl · 20/11/2009 20:25

Oh bucky I've never had ET so can't compare it to childbirth but it sounded traumatic but maybe, like childbirth, you'll forget all about it once you have a little wriggly bean growing inside you.

Doesn't average mean you have just as much chance as anyone else does of the embie being viable? And doesn't good mean you actually have a better chance?that's got to be positive right?

Got my fingers crossed. And a big mug of hot chocolate here for you.

I am still waiting for the spotting to stop. But where I thought I'd be absolutely desperate for it to finish I'm actually in no rush to bring on the next cycle.

Hope everyone else is ok.

xxBuckyxx · 20/11/2009 19:38

ET sucked. Either you are all incredibly stoic and have major pain thresholds or I am pathetic. Don't get me started about the holding the pee in thing, the nerve in my back that was trapped by my mega full bladder that practically paralysed me or the cold sweats and decidedly 'average' embryos.

This morning we had 8 'average' embryos and 1 'good' embryo that had hardly divided which in my uninformed opinion sounds totally pants. (sorry that you have to hear all this again Caitni if you have been on the other thread). So one good and one average went back in and I am sat at home totally traumatised by what was, and I do not exaggerate, one of the worst experiences of my life. If child birth is like that this could have been a mistake...LOL .

I am totally self absorbed and not enquiring about anyone else for which I apologise. I do of course love you all and hope you do not live in Cumbria. xx

MrsHappy · 20/11/2009 16:30

Wow - 9/10 is FAB. Hope the transfer went ok.

Caitni · 20/11/2009 11:26

Good luck for today Bucky - looking forward to hearing how ET went

Big waves to everyone else.

PandaEis · 19/11/2009 16:34

bucky brilliant 9 out of 10 is eggcellent bet you cant wait to get them back in the oven
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

Caitni · 19/11/2009 12:29

It's lovely your DP is excited! This is such a thrilling bit of the whole process. And two is cool (cos don't forget I transferred two blasts, so had a super high chance of twins, and am pregnant with a singleton).

On the day thing, you could always try calling the embryologist to discuss - the squeaky wheel getting the oil and all that - or you could have a look somewhere like the Lister's pregnancy calculator (www.ivf.org.uk/) and see whether it's worth your while to bother (disclaimer: their calculator is based on their own cycles).

Either way, you can bask in the glow of your clever embryos doing so well

xxBuckyxx · 19/11/2009 11:49

X posted Caitni...nope, no option for later transfer given . What will be will be I suppose.

xxBuckyxx · 19/11/2009 11:12

I can't believe I am going to say this but two are going back in . I'm super scared though, although DP is too excited. I have given him the 25% success statistics to calm him down!

Caitni · 19/11/2009 11:11

Well done on your super embies! 90% normal fertilisation rate is excellent - well done eggs and swimmers . You must be so relieved...

Is there no option for a day 3 or even day 5 transfer? Not sure what the protocol is on the NHS, but I have a vague memory of Gillydaffodil having NHS blast transfer at the HH...could be totally wrong on that though! The main advantage is just to see which are the front runners, so it should be fine if the embryologist is happy with a day 2 (and Lottie's pregnant after a day 2 transfer ).

Am so delighted for you - this is such a big hurdle and the embryo transfer is by far the best bit (bar the full bladder you need ).

Madoldbird · 19/11/2009 10:13

That's CRACKING () news Bucky!! I have had this page up on the pc nervously anticipating news! How many are you having put back?

Yes, sorry to hear about the scare caitni - must have been horrible. Do take it easy today. X

xxBuckyxx · 19/11/2009 10:05

OOh and sorry you had a scare Caitni but glad all was ok . Take it easy today. xx

xxBuckyxx · 19/11/2009 10:04

9 of the 10 fertilised normally .

So tomorrow they go back in! How come it wasn't this easy INSIDE my body . Now they just have to stick!!

Caitni · 18/11/2009 21:24

Woo hoo for 10 eggs! That's bloody brilliant, utterly eggscellent.

Uh huh with the barry white playing while those eggs are getting nice and jiggy with your DH's swimmers - can't wait to hear how many fertilise tomorrow. Eggsciting!!!

On the pessaries, total TMI alert, but I was a front passage gal as just mentally thought of it as inserting a tampon before bed. Total nightmare on the knickers front, though, as the waxy stuff that melts out is urgh. Bring on your naffest pants is my advice

MrsH glad to hear DD2's mouth is slowly clearing - hope your boobs stop hurting soon too.

Waves to everyone else.

Had a bit of a nightmare day today, as baby had been quieter on the movement front and then noticed a (light, brown) bleed at lunchtime. Cue panic stations and a call to midwife who said to go in and get checked if baby didn't move, I felt anxious etc (as haven't had any lovin' in a week so wasn't caused by that). To help things along, I chugged a can of ice cold coke (bad mother or what ),
a tall glass of very cold water and a hot chocolate before topping off with a cake and baba was still not moving. So one visit to the hospital later, it turns out all is well - baby was asleep (twitches in his/her sleep just like his/her dad ) but heartbeat, scan etc fine and no idea what caused the bleed. I'm seeing the midwife for my proper appointment on Friday, so hoping to hear baby's heart again then.

Am now off to doze on the sofa, as feeling relieved all is fine but kind of drained too. And have a busy day tomorrow (between work, pregnancy yoga and our first antenatal class!).

bucky am still grinning from your lovely round number of eggs . Take it easy girlie xxx

MrsHappy · 18/11/2009 21:00

Woohoo for the 10 eggs - that's great.

Now you should visualise them in a dish somewhere with low lighting and Barry White playing in the background. I love this part of other people's IVF cycles, so eggciting!

And progesterone pessaries sound mildly icky. But the pizza face will be worth it in the end...

PandaEis · 18/11/2009 19:08

oooh!! bucky 10 eggs?? that is amazing i can bet there is a party in a petrie dish somewhere now
xx ei xx

Madoldbird · 18/11/2009 19:07

YAY!! Eggcellent news Bucky

Nevermind the pizza face, have you decided WHERE to put the pessaries yet?!

xxBuckyxx · 18/11/2009 18:41

actually the party is on the 4th so that would be the week after next...more than enough time to grow a pizza face

xxBuckyxx · 18/11/2009 18:40

Hellloooooo

I am alive and have been relieved of 10 eggs . So hopefully lots of activity is occuring in a dish somewhere....

Was not so bad, a bit sore but feeling better already and hopefully the bloating will go now so I can stop feeling like a beached whale.

I have now moved on to worrying about the progesterone pessaries, in that my Xmas party is next week and I don't think acne is going to be a good look .

Ah I'm so shallow.

Thanks for checking in ladies. Love you loads. xx

Madoldbird · 18/11/2009 18:10

Just popped in to see if there is any news from Bucky?? DG that must have been such a difficult scan yesterday. Be gentle on yourself.

Waves again to everyone else! (one day i will stay on here long enough to post properly to everyone!)
