Just tell the builders that there's been a family crisis and could they please down tools for the day as you have people coming over. I'm sure they're compassionate enough not to ask too many questions...

Also, why on earth are you calling yourself a 'moaning mini'?! You are nothing of the sort. And I wasn't expecting you to be a barrel of laughs although, without a voice I'm not sure I can be that consoling. Its only a train ride away so if you change your mind....

I hope you manage to get hold of DH. If he can't come down here, could you get up to Derby to see him? Although, I'm sure you prob want your own things around you rather than a hotel room but at least you'd have DH?

GorgonsGin · 21/07/2009 13:00

picknmix - you are so kind to think of me. I am being a right Moaning Mini today, sorry. Thank you for being lovely, but I'll be ok here and it's miles fro you. I am not much fun to be around .

I have thought about asking the builders to go, but really not sure what I could say to them, other than the truth, which I can't face saying to anyone apart from typing it out on this thread. I am in pieces and trying not to cry in front of them.

I have called and emailed DH and asked if he can please, please come home tonight, but can't get hold of him. I suspect he will not be able to

PicknMix · 21/07/2009 12:51

Oh GG, I am so so sorry to hear that

Could you tell the builder to go home for the day so you can have some space? Is there no way DH can come back tonight?

I wish there was more I could do or say - would you like me to come up to see you? I'm kind of at a lose end today but I am full of cold (snot and no voice) so don't want to end up passing it on to you.

Please take care of yourself and let me know if you need anything xx

GorgonsGin · 21/07/2009 12:26

Thanks for all your kind words Caitni, Picknmix, DG and MrsH.

Now the bleeding is red and I've got clots . Just had a huge cramp, so can only conclude that it's all going to be identical to last time, with a predictably crap end result of nothing . I am at a loss - I am only allowed 2 hours of euphoria at a BFP before my world comes crashing down. And I'm stuck at home trying to "take it easy" with the flat in chaos and I just want to scream at the plumber (who is lovely) to GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE! DH is in bl**dy Derby and not coming home tonight. Arghhhh!

Caitni · 21/07/2009 12:10

GG am really rushing now but just wanted to say ((hugs)) - glad you got the progesterone (but check my FB message just in case) but it's awful that you're going through this when a) your DH is away and b) you've got a tiler in your bathroom. I think lying around is just about the perfect thing to do in this circumstance...

...right am now off to the meeting now!
xxx

GorgonsGin · 21/07/2009 12:02

hello there everyone

I've been to Hammersmith and spoke to a doctor who was sympathetic, but not much more than that . Caitni, they gave me some extra progesterone, which was lucky although they did it a little reluctantly. I got the usual spiel about bleeding being common in early pregnancy (I know, but this has happened - identically - before), that they couldn't do anything except advise taking it easy and waiting. They couldn't comment that it seemed to be identical to last time, i.e. BFP and bleeding in tandem. When I asked if it could be hormonal and if there was anything I sh/could take, he very helpfully told me that "if it's another early miscarriage then we'll see about doing some more tests" which he wouldn't elaborate on. They gave me a blood test to confirm the BFP, like last time, but effectively will do nothing it seems until I come up for my post-IVF review meeting. Great!

I still have brown spotting, which is light but possibly heavier than yesterday and some mild cramping, but I can't even go to our (only) bathroom to knicker check, because the tiler is there all day and it's minus a door. When I need a pee he has to go and stand in the spare room and hum a tune. The bleeding is not quite the same as last time which was bright red blood and severe cramping, but it's enough to have me freaking, especially because DH has gone away for work, so I am on my own (not counting the plumber!) and he told me not to "lie around all day feeling sorry for myself"

Caitni · 21/07/2009 11:50

GG I've just replied to your message on FB - think I can help a bit - am about to pop into a meeting but will check in here/FB later xxx

digitalgirl · 21/07/2009 10:09

GG fingers crossed this BFP is a sticky one. Brown spotting is usually ok. Hope you get some reassurance soon.

PicknMix · 21/07/2009 08:57

Just a quick message because I'm a bit poorly at the mo but wanted to wish you the best of luck GG. A BFP is fantastic news but can understand your concerns. I hope you've managed to get through to someone at the hospital xx

Caitni · 21/07/2009 08:44

Oh GG BFP . I'm very happy for you but I hope you've managed to speak to someone at HH re the spotting. Brown blood is generally old blood so generally OK and it's good that you're not cramping. They may just advise upping your dose of cyclogest. But in the meantime I'm keeping everything crossed that this little bean(s) is sticky and is just burrowing in nicely

GorgonsGin · 21/07/2009 07:19

Morning all

Just a quick post from me. I tested this morning and.....

BFP (after a sneaky, early test with a BFN yesterday, slap wrist)

BUT - I'm spotting again Not as bad as last time, (it looks like brown, early period type blood and no violent cramps) but I am totally freaked out about it after last time. I'm counting down the minutes until I can get someone at the hospital at 8am to discuss. Possile impantation bleed I suppose, but terrifying none the less.

will check in later and sorry for the me me me post

Caitni · 20/07/2009 21:19

MrsH god, am totally with you on the cold/flu difference. I've also had flu twice and was knocked out for days (meaning lying in bed, unable to move/read/watch telly with awful aches and fever - barely remember them to be honest, as days passed in a blur). I really hope you get the nice birthing centre. You're right, you and your DH deserve some good fertility fortune (or rather, the good fertility fortune that gave you courgette from your tubeless side just needs to last long enough to give you your VBAC in the birthing centre ).

GG am thinking of you and sending you all the positive vibes I have if you test tomorrow

And a good night to everyone else. Am so knackered still I find it struggle to keep my eyes open this "late"

MrsHappy · 20/07/2009 20:59

Hello

I never said anything about Matthew whatshisname, but I vote not gay. He looks far too smelly for that. And doesn't he have a girlfriend and a baby? Not that that proves anything, but why would you bother going to such lengths these days? All you need is a few dates with the odd model to throw the paps off the scent...

GG is tomorrow test day? Good luck if it is. I don't think testing on the day you are first allowed to counts as testing early.

MOB I hope repeat motherhood is treating you well.

Caitni I am getting annoyed by the swine thing too. But what is annoying me is people saying "oh I felt soooo ill but I went into work...". I have had flu twice and neither time could I get out of bed, much less go into work. That's a cold, not the flu!

Bucky I am with Picknmix - that treatment deserves a letter of complaint. I do wonder wwhat the point of the clomid was if your innards need help first. It's shocking.

Picknmix I am sorry you had a tough time when your period arrived this time. Grrrr. And I hope you are feeling better now.

Not much news from here. I am stressing about money a bit but need to stop - it can't be doing the courgette any good! Am off to see my in-laws this weekend and then next week have a repeat scan to see if the courgette is now normal and a visit to the consultant to plead my case re going in the lovely cuddly birth centre and not the scary consultant-led-medical bit of the hospital. Let's hope that everything goes right for once. I can't believe how many shit things happened to DH and I in the last year - it's time for things to look up and for them to stay better!!

Caitni · 20/07/2009 14:32

Afternoon ladies

GG am totally at your builders! What a ruddy hassle (though am secretly pleased you get a shiny new bedroom for the cost of the new bathroom ). It's the best way I've ever heard of for keeping distracted on the IVF tww . Glad you enjoyed the wedding, despite the lashing rain (and glad your DH got to kick up his heels Scottis-stylee ). I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you whenever you decide to test - I've got a good feeling for you

I must say all the stuff about swine flu and pregnant women is starting to really annoy me. Like, er, OK, let's avoid crowds (so, erm, guess that means I can't go to work? Or anywhere in London for that matter as everywhere's crowed ). Or delay conceiving until it's over (er, OK NCT...let's all just wait for up to two years ). I think they should just be emphasising the hygiene and making people stay at home while sick/symptomatic (there are still "martyrs" coming into my workplace coughing and sneezing and sweating over everything - bugs the sh*t out of me!!). Luckily my patient is fully recovered and back at work today and I'm just glad I've managed to avoid it.

That's enough swine flu ranting from me . Hope everyone's well

GorgonsGin · 19/07/2009 18:53

hello all.

Ha, I've stumbled on the is "Matthew McWhatshiname gay?" thread . I'm with MrsH and sitting in the "He definitely likes boys and perfume too much" camp (no pun intended ) and assumed he liked boys I won't be flighting PnM and bucky for him!

MOB!! - you managed to get 5 mins away from your gorgeous boys to see us. Please keep posting when you get a rare 5 mins. We'd miss you too much and, frankly, i won't let you stay away from us. I need you to be my inspiration

Picknmix _ I am sooo for you that your period arrived. It's utter shit - a red kick in the teeth every month, which screams "You are not pregnant!!!" when you are doing everything you can and enduring clomid's little tricks on your system too. We're all here for you so come and rant away here. Are you coming up to London soon? I am free for lunch every day and if you work form home, they won't miss you

Caitni - wow, I am impressed at your gardening success! Glad to hear that the MS is still holding off, which means that while not vomiting doesn't have the reassurance factor of feeling pregnant, can still only be a good thing. I have seeen one friend in particular sobbing and talking about wishing she had never got pregnant, she felt so awful.

I hope your DH is feeling completely well again soon. Have you seen the guidance that the NHS has released about PG women and swine flu? Apparently, they don't recommend travelling at rush hour to vaoid disease infested London Underground carriages, but not sure that will make any difference. It does mean you can get a lie in and leave work before the rish starts though . As for testing , my calculation for the test date was this Tuesday too - i.e. 14 days after EC and also that was the day they told me last time. DH is adamant that I shouldn't test early (and I agree), but I can't see how Tuesday would be testing early...?

Bucky - No, you didn't kill the thread I am back and posting now. I am still really at the manner that Hammersmith deliverered the information to you and also that St Albans didn't tell you that you had pelvic adhensions. Did they say whether they could have a material effect on you TTC? I am with PnM that maybe a threatened formal complaint might grease the wheels quicker and move you up the IVF queue? There seems to be sod all co-ordination between hospitals - my tests (only two months old) had to be repeated because Hammersmith were not sent some results by St Mary's Paddington. The doctors claimed it was easier to repeat the tests rather than try to extract my notes from a hospital in the same trust three miles away! Looking forward to lunch next week and great news that DG might come. If it's a BFN, you have to get me very drunk to take my mind off the horrid throught that I'll have to job hunt . I was sort of hoping a BFP meant I could put my feet up. Oh, and have a longed for baby of course All others welcome too of course!

jolly - another greenfingered thread member! LOL at your glut of cucumbers. Not the most exciting or versatile vegetable. You can make lots of tsatziki with them..?

readyFN2and3 - wooohooo, the twins are in the right place and head down!

Big wave to shreksmissus too. How are things with you?

DG - if you are looking in, I hope to see you this week for lunch with Bucky!

I'm back from Scotland and we didn't freeze, but it absolutely pissed it down for the wedding day, which was a terrible shame. The lovely bride and groom didn't manage a single photo in the stunning grounds or outside the university chapel. We had a ball thought and I even managed to get my Sassenach DH drunk enough to ceilidh a Dashing White Sergeant with a friend, while I sipped my regrettably fake G&T's . Bl**dy hell, aren't weddings different when you can't drink?! I am racking my brains to think whether I have been to one and been less than tipsy at the end of the night!

I have been distracted from PG testing by having a Bathroom Drama. The builders doing our bathroom managed to knock through a solid brick wall (how?) into our bedroom, effectibely creating an unwanted and unplanned en suite ) which means that we now have to get the bedroom replastered and redecorated too. I was horrified about it at first, but now I'm rather pleased at the idea I'm getting a shiny new bedroom too (the builders are going to do it all for free) So, I've been getting even more Stepford Wife and found myself mooning over Laura Ashley wallpaper and scatter cushions D'ya think this means I'm nesting?

Please keep posting to keep my itchy fingers typing and not unwrapping a Clearblue Digital to pee on
GGx

BuckyAndCocktails · 19/07/2009 10:55

Have I killed the thread?

OP posts:
BuckyAndCocktails · 17/07/2009 17:32

Oh and Matthew is most certainly not gay LOL. He is manliness personified.

OP posts:
BuckyAndCocktails · 17/07/2009 17:30

Mrs H it was the lap and dye that ascertained the adhesions, they just never told me! Hammersmith read my notes out to me.

OP posts:
MrsHappy · 17/07/2009 16:52

A quick one because I am trying to get a very tired DD to stay awake for dinner, bu Bucky, it seems v odd to me that they have diagnosed adhesions from a scan when your lap and dye revealed no such thing. A laparoscopy would, I think, be the best way to spot adhesions so that is odd.

Anyhoo, I would check they were looking at the right file. T'would not be the first time the NHS had fucked up something like that...

Caitni · 17/07/2009 16:06

Can't believe they just dropped that into conversation with you Bucky - shocking. I agree with PnM to step away from google but know how hard that can be [higs] to you m'dear.

PS isn't Matthew McConnagaughey gay? That perfume ad he does is just about the gayest advert I've ever seen, though he is a tasty piece of work...

PicknMix · 17/07/2009 15:38

Oh, and more importantly, wrt the pelvic adhesions - I'm hoping they're going to give you a proper diagnosis? Thats not something they can just drop into conversation - surely they need to explain it properly to you so you know exactly what is going on??

Step away from google for now though please.

PicknMix · 17/07/2009 15:34

Bucky, Matthew McConaughey was never going to select you to be his next baby's mother as he's already asked me to be.

Did I not mention that before? I'm sure I did, maybe I should be more clear and change my name to MrsMcConaughey....

BuckyAndCocktails · 17/07/2009 15:29

Pelvic adhesion is when your organs are stuck together as a result of scarring caused by inflamation at some time. . Consequently, apparently my ovary/ies, (not sure what exactly is stuck) may not flap around as much and catch the eggs as efficiently, as they/it is stuck to my bowel. Nice....Obviously Matthew McConaughey is not going to select me to be his next baby's mother now as I am deficient....

OP posts:
Caitni · 17/07/2009 14:58

Bucky at the cock up re test results. Sorry to hear you've been bumped back another month and sorry to hear they've just told you about pelvic adhesions - WTF does that mean and why have you only just heard??!? And at a low FSH result - that's the result we all want with FSH tests so why on earth would it be a problem? Why oh why are fertility staff sent to try us so?

The HSG is very straightforward though, and I say that as someone who had a stupid registrar who couldn't get the damn catheter through my cervix so the whole thing took ages (should only take minutes).

PnM glad to hear you've got cucumbers out the ears . Our courgettes have gone all moody (we've got them in pots and I think the pots, despite being massive looking by my standards, are in fact too small) so are only churning out one or two courgettes a week, which is actually just about all the courgettes we want anyway so am . Carrots still growing away (man, they take months to grow! Think our soil is particularly rubbish ). We managed one pod of peas - people kept telling me "ooh peas are so easy" but only one plant has managed to get to the stage of producing one solitary pod . And tomoatoes are finally ripening up - had the first cherry toms last night .

PicknMix · 17/07/2009 14:18

Oh Bucky

Thats truely shit of them. I take it you haven't been given any indication why none of this had been followed up previously? Why were you not told that your fsh was low and that you hadn't had an HSG at the same time as lap and dye?! That's crazy behaviour, even for the NHS.

I'd be inclined to push forward an official complaint against them for that.

Did they give you dates for when the new tests will be carried out?

Whats this about a pelvic adhesion? Did they give you any indication of what the adhesion was?

I'm guessing its of no comfort to you but at least its 'only' one month to wait - I know for a fact in my PCT there would be another 6 month wait to see someone.

Massive to you x
