Welcome everyone from the old 'Mid 30s and TTC for the first time' thread. And welcome newbies too. Don't mind the poster in the corner dipping pregnancy test sticks into her glass of gin.

OP posts:

you can get computer access in the clink if you are good

Cosmosis · 09/07/2009 14:41

Good plan camel.

One flaw though, I'll then have less time to spend in our lovely palace.

idealcamel · 09/07/2009 14:34

cosmosis Bastards. Set fire to your computer in protest?

Cosmosis · 09/07/2009 14:25

cheggers sorry to miss the champers last night, and the very very best of luck with the drugs and all that.

I am currently drowning in a sea of misery. I'm just so hacked off with this redundancy lark and my company's seeming inability to be able to sort out its arse from its elbow and answer any of my questions. In the meantime I am coming in to work with zero motivation to do the little work I have to do. I just want it all over with now.

sorry to be a bit me me me.

VeryAnnieGertie · 09/07/2009 14:15

Do you mean gin?

And can you send Josh Lyman over?

triggerhappybaby · 09/07/2009 13:44

\O/

I'm in the west wing doing some work. Did you say you were putting the kettle on?

VeryAnnieGertie · 09/07/2009 13:02

Coo - it's lonely here in the Palace today.

VeryAnnieGertie · 09/07/2009 10:01

Good luck with the Enterprise, cheggers. Also can you tell me where your name comes from again as at the moment you are a disturbing Keith Chegwin in drag....

VeryAnnieGertie · 09/07/2009 09:59

pudding I loved the What Were You Thinking?! idea for a card slogan earlier (cannot atttribute as can no longer find - sorry!) - that could be your new name! Though you'll always be our pudding...

Bugger I missed the bubbly last night - is it too early to open the next bottle?

Aussieng · 09/07/2009 09:30

Hey everyone. Gosh it takes some keeping up with this place. Work still crazy and I'm sick of being told that's a good thing in the "current environment" Still at least I have absolutely no pay rise to look forward to this year [manic grin]

Good luck cheggers. Fingers crossed for you.

AF arrived for me yesterday. CD24 I don't know much but I know something is not right and it's not just stress at work. Suggested to DH last night that we skip sex for a month (well let's face it - more like 3 weeks on current rates of "return") so I can chart and explore mucus etc without erm other substances interfering with my analysis. I'll leave you to imagine the response.....So now on cycle #4 and frustration just starting to kick in and I'm off to buy a mooncup which I had never heard of before....

SarahAbroad · 09/07/2009 09:22

Morning all....

Cheggars, good luck, we shall be thinking of you (and your hangover).

All this talk of pubes reminds me that I remiss in the, ahem, maintenance department. Married two months and already letting myself go. Tsk. Tsk.

Nocoffee, totally sympathise with you re career, timing, being a junior solicitor, etc. (I know I am about 30 posts behind--sorry!) Having been a lawyer (partner, even, for a while) for ten years before I was credit crunched decided to seek a career redirection, I can tell you that I have seen people make families and career work at all stages and ages. It's not easy, but it's a matter of figuring out what works for you. Sneakily watch the women you work with and see how they make it work. Build up good relationships with supportive senior lawyers (male and female) that are likely to be good sources of advice, good role models and (possibly) the people you want to be working with when you tell them you need to leave in the middle of a deal. Having never been a mother when I was practising, I can't give you actual advice, but happy to be a sounding board about law-firm politics, etc.

pudding--will work on a name suggestion.... I suppose "Another one?!" is out of the question????

skihorse · 09/07/2009 08:53

Good luck cheggers - I trust you'll be in a huge hormonal rage within days if not hours and ranting at complete strangers on the interweb. Bring it on!

cheggers · 08/07/2009 22:38

champagne

on a school night?

feel like a right cheapo now with me half bottle of freixenet.

which didn't touch the sides by the way. i am now officially immune to booze.

must've been all those lovely pina coladas i was knocking back on hols

[waves gay looking coctkail glass with umberella and pineapple slice around in the air smiley]

i never like to reveal my porn name (as cool as it is)

have visions of internet stalkers armed with my private details hacking my life away ....

Nocoffeenoworkee · 08/07/2009 22:11

Ah fickle nocoffee, she's all wistful about stuffing doughnuts and knocking back champagne whilst watching Ugly Betty - sorry pudding the deal's off. I've got quite enough on my hands what with all this typing and quaffing I'm afraid. And referring to myself in the third party...

As for a new name, why not go for your porn name? First pet + mother's maiden name.

nolongerchunkybutstillapudding · 08/07/2009 21:54

2 more things before I properly pile into this large vat of wine..

Thing 1 - does being an unmarried mother make me even more sinful and beyond hope than the unwed upduffed?as they still have hope of a proposal before actually, y'know, spawning a demonchild like what I did???

Thing 2 - cheggers think you have thought of a cracking little business venture in your last post

just call 0800-PUBE-CHAT now!

nolongerchunkybutstillapudding · 08/07/2009 21:38

Bloody he'll???

Bloody phone!

nolongerchunkybutstillapudding · 08/07/2009 21:37

Lo cheggers nope think I crashed the thread while you were on hols.have properly moved in now,its lovely here!

nocofffee bloody he'll yes you can borrow him.borrow dp too if you like then i'll sit here eating donuts and drinking champagne whilst watching shockingly bad telly

a word from the wise (well from me actually)

when you lot have kids I strongly advise you to severely discourage them from getting any teeth.surely they can eat through a straw for life or something.

Also I am now running a 'think of a new chat nickname for me without totally fucking offending me' competition.sick of the current one.

Answers on a postcard purleease

cheggers · 08/07/2009 19:08

lol at pube chat. i thought everyone had a remmingtom muff strimmer these days.

me and my mates bought them as a job lot from boots way back when and then spent the entire evening with all the boys asking us what grade we had dared to go to

well, while it was still early in the evening ...

anyhooo hello again lushes. am back from last chance saloon of freedom (hopefully) hol in the sun.

start on the 'bastard ivf' tommorrow. have just been reviewing my stash for the first time to see it's all in order. it's been sitting untouched in our fridge for 2 weeks, the needles and everything. (was too lazy to go through it all and work out exactly which drugs need to go in the fridge

anyway all shockingly horrendous but found small pack of (silver lining?) alcohol wipes in there .... [misplaced wahey!!]

not caught up properly but ..

skater am shocked at your big knockers had you down for a waif like avril lavigne type . and shit there it is again. everytime i read your posts that song pops into my head .....

chunky don't think we've met. but i rather stalkingly googled your website (didn't know the cards). nice business .. and hello!

everyone else hello too. i missed ya ....

[chins everyone as sign of affection]

triggerhappybaby · 08/07/2009 18:38

let's hope you don't have as much trouble formatting your OH [perve emoticon]

Nocoffeenoworkee · 08/07/2009 18:22

....stupid formatting not working, booo

Nocoffeenoworkee · 08/07/2009 18:21

Hi preggers ladies, how's it going? We seem to have forgotten all about you since all this shrivelled ovaries chat! So c'mon, let's have the symptoms so we can all be very smug about being barren old hags who are way past it un-pregnant.

pudding can I borrow your son? He sounds way cute. He'd get on very well with my dawg too - he's the same age, a big fan of licking faces and also an abysmal speller. They could have a big fat lick-off and then a spelling comp maybe?

Nocoffeenoworkee had lots of lovely coffee today, and actually did lots of work. I think it's because I'm a-gettin me some goooood A game this week
