Hello all,

This is a thread for those who will be/are TTC with Clomid and those who have successfully conceived with Clomid.

Oooh I hope you're right tembie6699! That would be great to get some good news from one of the girls on here!

Sorry about AF Littlemissmischief - I know just how you feel as I have just been through that again. As stac14 said, I think it's fairly normal to have the stop-start thing on clomid. It freaked me out this time round as I really wasn't sure if it had actually started properly or not. But I always know when it does start properly so I waited to take the clomid until then. I've spoken to my cons about it and he just said that it's the 2nd day of your properAF_. Try and stay positive though hun - it would have been a miricale if it had worked in the first cycle!

Hey stac14! I've not heard of this Zita West so I'm going to check it out!

So you and I are the moody ones then eh popsy1?!! Haha! I honestly feel like giving up and not trying any more. Just have lots of exotic holidays and forget about it haha!

Anyway, I suppose I should get on with some work if I want to splash out on exotic holidays!!

Littlemissmischief - i know the feeling too well of knowing others are having unplanned babies - i have resorted to not attending anymore baby related events - funny enought am on CD25 and am not sure what am feeling down there .....i have funny symptoms - but am not reading too much into it - so as to save myself form disappointment ....am kinda open minded and tryign not to stress myself ...so hang in there ...xx

Littlemiss soz about af - we just have to keep trying - its sooo depressing but i believe we are gonna get some good news from someone in the next few days ......fingers crossed xxxxxxxx

Littlemissmischief · 20/10/2009 22:29

Hey Stac - hope you dont get AF but would be good to have a cycle buddy .

I read about Zita West today too in the paper, it gave some tips but we are doing all the things it said so may check her website to see what else is on there too.
It is really hard when someone you know is having a baby isnt it, esecially when it isnt planned or they dont want another child it seems so unfair! We will all get there girlies x x x

stac14 · 20/10/2009 21:54

hey littlemiss sorry af got you hun, I think mine is about to rear her ugly head soon too so we will kind of be cycle buddies lol. the stop start is kind of normal for clomid hun and as for the cd 21 bloods it depends on the cons, mine orders it every month I am on clomid due to the irregularity of my ovulating.

How are the rest of you? Dp come home talking about Zita West, he had read about it in the paper so we are going to check it out online see how she can help, Getting desparate as his friend is expecting 2nd child not planned, wanted etc bit of a nightmare aarrgghh lol
xxxx

Littlemissmischief · 20/10/2009 21:45

Thanks Popsy. I will ring the cons to double check about the CD21 bloods.

Also the bleeding is very stop and start, is that normal? It started this afternoon and then stopped then started again, then after my bath there was nothing again until just now, so its a bit strange?

Hope everyone else is ok x x x

popsy1 · 20/10/2009 19:53

Sorry didnt read all messages. Sorry stac keep fingers crossed still though as AF hasnt arrived.
lileu i've also had the most horrendous mood swings, crying, angry the works, all weekend. The things we do hey ladies!!

Hugs to all that need them {{{ }}}}

popsy1 · 20/10/2009 19:50

Hi littlemissmischief i'm so sorry AF arrived, it's hard to pick yourself up again, but i promise you you will feel like it. My hubby keeps saying "our time must come soon" and so will yours. xxx
My Af is also red and i take clomid on day 2-6. Take it on your second full day of bleeding, so dependant on what time you start today will depend on whether you start tomoz or the day after.
Re. 21 day bloods, we were told that once i was on the correct dose that the scans and blood test would stop. However we had a couple of month of unsuccessful months and a consultants appointment and we basically told them we wanted some monitoring beings as they messed things up 8 yrs ago when we took clomid. So i now have 21 day bloods.
Really hope that makes sense.

Love n hugs

xxxx

Littlemissmischief · 20/10/2009 17:34

Well AF just got me
Been reading all your posts but keeping to myself while praying for my AF to stay away, on CD32 today and it has just started, Ive had no warning and it is bright red blood (sorry tmi) is this normal for a clomid AF?

Feeling so down, I know it would of been a miracle to have had it work first month but really thought i was pg (but then thats the same every month) just feeling depressed at having to do it all again next month!

Can I ask a Q - when you take the Clomid days 2-6, do you start the day after your period arrives or the 2nd FULL day of bleeding, like for me now do I start tomorrow?
Also do you have CD21 bloods every month, or if you ovulate on a doseage do you not get tested again?

Hope everyone else is ok x x x

Hi I am new to this but found this site and thought maybe someone on here may be able to help me answer a couple of questions.
Firstly I have pcos and did not ovualte at all for 18 months but lost 4 stone this year as advised by the docs and now have a period every 30-35 days but still no joy getting pregnant. I have been on a low dose of metformin for about 6 months and I am now on my first month of clomid and was just wondering how successful it is? I am desperate to have a baby but after years of trying I am starting to lose hope. I am only on my first month of clomid but have already had some symptoms for pregnancy this is probably just wishfull thinking but is it likely I could be pregnant?

LiLew · 20/10/2009 10:03

Ah booo for the BFN stac14! What a bummer. Well, if AF hasn't arrived yet then there could still be hope?! My sister-in-law had a few BFN's before she got a BFP

Don't know what's up with me - it's probably just the clomid, but I just keep wanting to burst into tears all the time!! I must pull myself together and just enjoy life haha!

stac14 · 19/10/2009 21:16

Morning ladies! Hope you are all well.

Welcome to the forum JuliaH76! I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I can't even begin to imagine what you have gone through - I've never experienced anything like that myself and I hope I never have to. I'm glad you've found us though! We're always here if you need to get things off your chest!

Keep us posted on how you get on with the Clomid

Welcome back stac14! I hope you had a nice holiday - where did you go? Are you on CD30 today? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP for you hun!

The good news is that I ovulated last cycle so the 100mg are working! Unfortunately AF came, but at least I know that I am ovulating now!

stac14 · 18/10/2009 18:56

JuliaH76 · 17/10/2009 18:33

Hi Popsy

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your little boy - it truly is heartbreaking. You think once you pass the all-important 12 week mark you will be ok. I have no idea how I've managed to cope and sometimes still feel like it's all been a bad dream. Nevertheless, if nothing else, it has made us even more determined to have a baby and this time leave hospital together - all 3 of us.

I'm so glad I've found this thread and will keep in touch once I start the Clomid. I have no idea if it will be of benefit to me, but even if it just makes me feel more positive, then it's worth it!

Good luck to all
Julia x

popsy1 · 17/10/2009 18:15

Hello Julia and welcome. I don't have any experience with taking clomid whilst ovulating, I have a no exsistant cycle, but i wanted to reply to your message. I also lost my baby boy at 19wks this year and it's heart breaking, devasting and without being too dramatic, changed my whole life . I haven't suffered as much loss as you have so i have no idea how you cope. Life is just so unfair at times.
Anyway just to let you know that we are all here to help. Everyone is so lovely and genuinely supportive! I had a convo with my hubby the other day about how i can't believe i discuss our sex life with complete strangers!!
Lots of love and huge amount of luck for everyone this month
xx

JuliaH76 · 17/10/2009 13:05

Hello everyone I'm new here. Starting my first round of Clomid 50mg when my next AF shows up in about 3 weeks. My story is quite sad - TTC for the past 4 years. Now 33 years old. 3 early miscarriages (all naturally conceived and lost at 6 weeks), 1 ectopic (left tube removed) and most recently, in July, late miscarriage at 20 weeks (my beautiful baby girl Grace - no reason found for my waters breaking). I do ovulate normally and have always had a regular 28 day cycle, but due to only having one fallopian tube, my consultant felt we could give Clomid a go "for a boost". Not quite sure what he means by this as I had always believed Clomid was mainly for people with ovulation problems. We were just about to start Clomid in April this year but found out I was already pregnant after 13 months TTC.

So now facing starting all over again and just wanted to hear if anyone else has been prescribed Clomid for similar reasons? I'm willing to give the drug a try and trust the consultant. Just hoping I don't have to face another year plus TTC.

popsy1 · 16/10/2009 20:23

So sorry littlemissmischief, but as the others say AF hasn't arrived so there's still hope. How many cycles have you done?

Good news that your not having any side effects sevans.

I've just taken my last day today, so fingers crossed

Lots of love to all
xxxx

sevans · 16/10/2009 19:47

I am doing well. AF is finally about done! I took my third Clomid pill this morning and still haven't had any side effects. Hopefully that won't change anytime soon! I'm so glad the weekend is here. I am going to a birthday party for a friend's one year old and there are going to be babies everywhere at the party. I haven't quite reached the point where seeing friends with babies makes me miserable. Hopefully I never will because I will get pregnant soon along with all of you!!!

Littlemissmischief · 16/10/2009 18:44

Thanks Sevans, I am not getting my hopes up though, cos ive now got really bad period pains and lower back pain so think AF is on its way

Anyway hows everyone else doing? x x

sevans · 16/10/2009 14:18

I'm sorry Littlemiss that you got a BFN. I think it was too early to test but I probably wouldn't have been able to keep myself away from testing either! Lilew is right, AF hasn't arrived just yet so there is still hope!

Littlemissmischief · 16/10/2009 10:32

Hey Lilew thanks hun
I'm on CD28 today so know I shouldnt of tested today but couldnt help myself i have no will power! It is the first time ive ovulated for a long time, I had one normal cycle last October and got pg but miscarried and one normal cycle in 2006 where I got pg with my DS so got my hopes up it would happen again first time.

Im trying to keep positive though because it did take 4 weeks after ovulation to get a BFP with my DS so maybe this time will be the same (wishful thinking I think).

Thanks tho i feel better now, I just feel extra pressure cos I now everyone in my family could do with some good news for a change! x x

LiLew · 16/10/2009 10:01

Oh Littlemissmischief am so sorry about your BFN hun. I don't want to get your hopes up or anything, but my sister-in-law got a couple of BFN's before she got a BFP, so you never know. What CD are you on now?

I know what you mean by always thinking you're pregnant - I convince myself every month that I am! Unfortunately the symptoms are so similar to AF symptoms that you can just never tell.

Is this the first cycle you've ovulated for a while? If so, try to think of it that it can take a woman who ovulates every cycle 6 months to a year to become pregnant. So it's not likely to happen the first time you've ovulated for a while. That's what I keep telling myself anyway!

Kepp your chin up hun - AF hasn't arrived just yet so there's still hope

Littlemissmischief · 16/10/2009 09:28

Did a test today and got a BFN .
I know I shouldnt of done one but couldnt resist it, am so sure Im pregnant (but then Im the same everytime) but i have sore boobs, backache, feel sick at intervals through the day, get light headed everytime I stand up. Just wanted some good news for a change!

Hope everyone else is ok x x

sevans · 15/10/2009 16:47

Lilew, glad everything is sorted out for you! Best of luck this month!

Babydust to everyone!

Debicemmy2 · 15/10/2009 13:45

Sorry said that wrong......been told to always take clomid the day after your first full day. So if your AF comes in the aternoon count the day after as your first full day.
Good luck to you all
