Following on from mp's advice to stop taking the pills until you are sure. Obviously take other precautions if necessary.

DeepGoat · 09/06/2009 13:32

that is what i meant - they use the same type. i am not under the illussion that nhs procurement staff are sitting around bidding on tests on ebay and getting distracted by designer dresses.

sweetkitty · 09/06/2009 13:31

Oh Dis sorry this is you

FWIW I have peed on quite a few of those ebay cheapies over the years and ANY line is usually a BFP sorry IME

What I have always done is do a control at the exact same time as the test, use water or better still some of you DHs wee, dip them both at the same time then you have one for comparison.

With DD3 I had the faintest of faint lines about 4 days before AF was due, CBD the day it was due BFP and it was only about a week after AF was due that I got a proper positive from those ebay tests, you are right they are crap, well I think they are good IF your a good few days late IYSWIM.

DeepGoat · 09/06/2009 13:31

if you are you are going to have a gorgeous large family - hard work but gorgeous!

onepieceofcremeegg · 09/06/2009 13:31

As an NHS employee I am tending to agree with morningpaper on this. The NHS may have some odd practices, but buying bargains on ebay they do NOT.

(I am not disputing that the photo looks similar to that type of test btw)

Anyway, OP, keep us posted. Best wishes

morningpaper · 09/06/2009 13:29

please stop taking the pills until you are sure xxx

NationalFlight · 09/06/2009 13:29

Looks positive to me sweetheart, well I am (and also slightly distracted by the gorgeous car seat liner to the right )

Sorry, seriously it does look like a line. Do you need anything? I have lots of baby bits if you do.

Hope you are Ok xxx

DeepGoat · 09/06/2009 13:27

Disenchanted3 · 09/06/2009 13:26

The Doctor's do not buy their tests from some dodgy chap on ebay

I know very little about NHS Procurement but I am QUITE sure of that

DeepGoat · 09/06/2009 13:25

no wonder you are stressed. take care.

DeepGoat · 09/06/2009 13:24

the doctors use those tests [stubborn and losing sight of the op's plight]

Disenchanted3 · 09/06/2009 13:24

I have a 4 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 month old!

OP posts:
NervousNutty · 09/06/2009 13:23

I agree you need to do a better test though.

NervousNutty · 09/06/2009 13:23

Have to say it does look lke a + to me.

I have used cheapy ebay tests in the past and have never had even a faint line with a - result.

morningpaper · 09/06/2009 13:22

DeepGoat · 09/06/2009 13:21

Disenchanted3 · 09/06/2009 13:21

Go to drs and get booked for a dating scan. Sorry it's not what you want.

Sometimes having a fast metabolism can make it not work, or just being a little bit late, slighty runny tum etc etc etc it's just not that affective in all circumstances tbh.

Rhubarb · 09/06/2009 13:20

Are you due a period now, could that be why you feel so ill?

Did you take the pill before your dd? Are you used to taking the pill? Is it a combined pill?

It is possible to fall pregnant whilst on the pill, but it's rare.

Disenchanted3 · 09/06/2009 13:20

I don't want to buy a proper one I didn't even want to do that one! Arghhh

OP posts:
morningpaper · 09/06/2009 13:18

I am not convinced

Buy a proper one quickly so we can decide who is right

Disenchanted3 · 09/06/2009 13:18

I'e not had a period for about 8 weeks, but thas because Im on the pill and only have a 7 day break every 3 months because my periods make me very ill (that was the advice of my GP)
So Ive been continually on the pill since DD was 21 days old.
