I am down and out. Passing big clots, cramps. It is ending despite the progesterone. But I at least am under no illusion that I have got it wrong. I am hoping that despite already losing this one, that Dr Rai on Thursday will be able to advise me.

Mowmi - I am so pleased that you are having the fun of your little man with you, it helps knowing that some do make it.

Rowing - I hope your next embies do the job for you, defrost nicely for implantation and growth.

Lotgk - hope you are doing ok?

rowingboat · 11/07/2010 10:59

Hi all,

Mowmi, congratulations on the birth of Harry. How lovely, you completely deserve to be happy with your little boy.
That pregnancy sounds very stressful, you didn't get much of a chance to relax until 20 weeks. He is a strapping boy isn't he! Are you and your DH quite tall?

Rainbow how are you. Not long to go until the tests, hope you can keep focussing on the outcome of those to give you the strength to move forward.

LOTGK haven't heard much from you recently. How are you?

Hairy are you out of the hut now, with renewed enthusiasm?

This time next week I will be on a plane, on my own. I am going back to have the embryos transferred, hope one of them makes it through the defrost otherwise it will become a short break instead.

mowmi · 11/07/2010 10:15

Hi Rowingboat - Ah I remember now...sorry for not picking up on it sooner (am a bit obsessed with rainbow since we held cyber hands whilst waiting to see if our pregnancies were viable last year

Are you having them transfered next week or just collecting them?
That's rough rushing them back because they were closed next day - that must have been disappointing - I know create open every day of the year if needed.

Yes we were so lucky to get preganant naturally - first month of being able to try after DH's chemo! I never ever take it for granted - Harry is our little miracle!

The pregnancy wasn't plain sailing (will try and keep this brief...) told at 6 weeks there was nothing but an empty sac (again) and to get some painkillers in! eventually saw a hb at 7 weeks after going to EPU to have mc confirmed.
12 weeks nuchal scan gave us 1 in 2 chance of DS, had CVS and all the stress of that but were given the amazing news he was ok.
Then told the factors identified gave him chance of heart defects - given all clear of that at 20 weeks!
The remaining 21 weeks were fairly calm we had extra scans to check he was growing properly (another potential problem with my squiffy hormones) but he had the opposite! I was warned he was going to be a big bugger - 9lbs 7oz and out through the sun roof because his head was too big to come out the conventional way!
He is now 5.5 months and a little angel - we're so lucky to have him.

I really hope one of those frosties grows to be the baby you so deserve.

Rainbow how are you today?

x

rowingboat · 10/07/2010 22:27

Hi Mowmi,
yes I was on last year when I was going for IVF abroad. We did go, but it was a bfn, however, we have 4 frosties from that treatment, so I'm off over to get them next week.
We had a fresh cycle in the UK last Summer, but again, unsuccessful and a FET from that cycle in May of this year, which was unsuccessful.
I wasn't very impressed with the UK clinic though and I thought the embryos were transferred too soon for the FET, but they couldn't do it the next day because they were closed.
I remember you were with Geeta Nargund, but you ended up having a natural pg.
How did that all go?

mowmi · 10/07/2010 21:34

ditto rowing boat - hope you get some answers soon - I think he's the guy to help.

rowing boat - have we met on the assisted conception thread?

rowingboat · 10/07/2010 17:05

Rainbow that makes sense. I'm glad you are having this testing and being attended to so closely.
Hope you get some answers soon.
This is the place to come for unloading.

rainbowdays · 10/07/2010 09:59

Update from me is that I did not take one of my progesterone suppliments one morning and immediately began brown spotting, so I know that if I stopped taking them now, I would m/c straight away, which is a good thing to know. I have an appointment with Dr Rai at St Mary's (through the Lesley Regan clinic) next thursday. They will hopefully do the pregnant TEG test to see if I am developing clotting issues just in pregnancy. So I need to still be pregnant for that test, this means staying on the progesterone until after that appointment. But I feel it is worth hanging on until after that appointment so that I can eliminate clotting as an issue. I have my next scan due back at home on the following tuesday. So I have decided to wait til after that scan to stop the progesterone. ~

The thing is I do risk the same as pregnancy number 10 happening, where eventually a heartbeat was seen, only to be lost the following week. But I guess I don't want to quit the progesterone until I get more confirmation that it is all over. I would feel like I was killing the feotus if I stopped the progesterone without seeing in the scan that it was all over.

Sorry I am waffling, I just need somewhere to off-load.

mowmi · 09/07/2010 21:41

Hi rainbow - how are you doing? It is Dr Rai - where you seeing him? Zita West? My friend thinks he's amazing!
I hope he is able to give you some answers and get you sorted.

Will keep popping in to see how you're doing.

X

rowingboat · 09/07/2010 12:48

Hi all,
Rainbow how are you getting on. I hope you are able to clear things up with a thyroid test. It would be fantastic if it was something which could be fixed.
Big hug!

rainbowdays · 08/07/2010 20:40

Rowing - thank you, that was a helpful link, it is ironing that both my aunt and mum have thyroid issues yet that was the one test that slipped through the net. I will be getting my gp to organise the test when I get back off holiday. Thank you.

Mowmi - is the guy Raj Rai? I hope so, as I have just got an appointment to see him next week!!!!!

TLOTGK - hope you are doing ok!

mowmi · 08/07/2010 16:17

I can't remember the name but there is a top dr in this field who works out of the Zita West clinic - I booked to see him when I thought I was about to miscarry again, (we might have discussed this at the time?) my friend saw him and he got to the bottom of her problems - he works at st marys too. Will dig out his name if it helps?
Awful time for you - I'm really sorry, you so deserve a break! x

rowingboat · 08/07/2010 09:12

Rainbow I'm sorry you are having to go through this again. It is so hard.
You sound very strong, I hope this doesn't drag you down too much.
Did you have immune tests done, as well as the usual hormone tests? Annoying not to have the thyroid one done. I did a quick google and found this
thyroid.about.com/library/weekly/aa050199.htm
I don't want to suggest that this affects you, but it would be annoying if it were an issue and you didn't know.
Thinking of you.

rainbowdays · 08/07/2010 08:27

Mowmi - no it is not patronising. I have had all the tests done (except the thyroid one that was missed), and I was told all is ok. I am trying to get information from Prof lesley Regans clinic and seeing if I can go or not.

claire - sorry to hear you are being messed around with the appointments, can I ask why they are not referring you to a RMC clinic? Seems awful.

I am trying not to let myself be fooled into false hope right now, I am not seeing any signs yet of m/c-ing, but the scan was definitely showing over two weeks behind in measurements. I wish it would hurry up and start, it is horrible limbo time right now.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 06/07/2010 18:22

rainbow, claire, Im so sorry my lovelies xxx

mowmi · 06/07/2010 10:30

Sorry Rainbow if my post is bit obvious / patronising - I hope you are ok? x

mowmi · 06/07/2010 10:26

I'm so sorry Rainbow that's incredibly sad I can't believe you are facing this again.
Is anyone helping you on figuring out why this keeps happening?
x

rainbowdays · 05/07/2010 12:10

It is failing again..... m/c just around the corner.

ClaireDeLoon · 04/07/2010 23:41

I need the hut to rant so I don't bring any other thread down. Got home from lovely relaxing holiday to a letter giving the date of my first follow up appointment re recurrent miscarriage. 21 December. Oh yes and in maternity. I had a due date with latest pregnacy of 30 December so will be lovely seeing all the imminent mums to be won't it?

A six month wait when the ladies on the recurrent mc thread said expect about six weeks seems very crap. And it's not even a recurrent mc unit just the local gynae unit who by their own admission aren't recurrent mc specialists.

What's the fuckinf point?

hairytriangle · 30/06/2010 13:29

cheers Rowing

Best best best of luck with the transfer!

rowingboat · 30/06/2010 09:13

Hi all,
Hairy that is great news! You have been through a lot with this mc and have been so positive. You deserve a big hot chocolate with marshmallows, right now!
I'm just waiting for AF before booking my flights to go and have our other frozen embryos transferred. Should be today or tomorrow, but have had really sore boobs and arthritic fingers since last week, so hurry up AF.
Still not feeling very positive about using our own embryos, but can't just leave them there.
The money is running out quickly and after this, one more try and then time to move on.

hairytriangle · 29/06/2010 21:04

Hello guys - my hcg is down to 0.4 today hurray!!!!! not a gloomy post, but just wanted to let you know how I'm doing.

rowingboat · 27/06/2010 23:41

Hi everyone,
just wanted to see how everyone is.
LOTGK I have been reading the Silver Chair again and you are a very scary woman.
I am trying to organise flights to go and get our remaining frozen embryos, but have a sinking feeling that we are wasting our time.
Could go straight to donor embryos but it would cost a lot more than going back for ours, so I feel we need to do that first.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/06/2010 19:35

hi all, hope you are ok.

rowingboat, i dont use FF anymore for that reason.

claire, any news?

rainbows, how are you lovey?

rowingboat · 19/06/2010 11:19

Hi everyone,
Hope you are doing better now Claire.
Hairy haven't heard from you in a while, how are you?
LOTGK - we are just reading the silver chair and guess what...you are in there!

I'm really on here for a moan about my other thread. I don't find MN so bad because there are lots of other topics on here so you don't have to read conception-related threads.
However, my other groups are on FF, which is amazing when you are going through the whole process, but it is the function of the forum to discuss fertility to the exclusion of all else. No big surprise. So not so easy to go on there, for me at least.
I just checked my old IVF thread and so many people on there are pg, it's great news, but I just feel depressed and angry now, why not me!
Weirdly, I feel happy about lots of other things in my life, so I was surprised at how numb and crap reading that thread made me feel.
Probably best not go on there for a while really - picking at scab isn't it!

rainbowdays · 16/06/2010 18:41

claire - hope you have had the all clear from the scan by now and that you are off on the holiday. You have been through the mill and you definitely deserve some time away.
