GPS I'm glad you are getting the tests redone, they aren't very helpful otherwise. Even if the FSH levels come back as high, it doesn't mean it is the end. Did you see on the forties thread, one of the ladies on there had a high FSH result and has just got a bfp.

So I'm back and feeling OK, but I think all the flying has pooped-up my ear a bit and I feel a bit queasy - or it's morning sickness, but that would be a bit premature as I only had the transfer yesterday.

Yes! home test good plan, no excuses that way. As for my fsh I have feeling this is what happened last time, I had a test at some random point in the month, levels were super high and my then gp said well thats it then, game over.

I'm going to go back and ask for day3 and 20 tests just to make sure. Got accupunture later today and herbalist on Saturday, oddly looking forward to both.

Well I'm finally here - long story! The transfer is tomorrow morning, then back to the airport! Two flights and home at midnight tomorrow, wah!

I did get OV pains on Friday day and night, but gone now and have started progesterone.

Rainbow - it's so good to hear you so positive about your appointment. I'm so glad you're getting explanations and hopefully some definates very soon. As I said my friend is so thankful to him - she currently has baby no 2 in her belly which she conceived without any problems - she can't believe it!

Rowingboat - hope you got your OV pains and are on a plane out of here?

GPS I am quite shocked that the FSH test was on day 9. It is always supposed to be on day 3.
It is horrible getting those tests done, your heart is in your mouth, and it doesn't really 'mean' anything to you anyway.
I don't know if you saw on the other thread that I had spotted a home sperm test. {Calculating face]
Oh and have some cake, it's carrot!
The flights are cool, the clinic will fit round them (nice man).
This is the easy, even fun, bit, but after... not so good/simple.
Rainbow, that does make sense, so glad you have something tangible. And of course there are still the tests to see what your thyroid is doing, or is that sorted?

ummmm, the g&t is going down a treat, but think we need some savory nibbles to go with it.

What I got from yesterday is that for every cycle where a conception occurs, only 30% go onto a live birth. many simply don't implant, of those that do implant some are genetically not going to survive (like my trisomy 22), these are random and occur to everyone. Many of the genetic issue ones do not even implant, or do not implant properly and end at 4-5 weeks (chemical pregnancies).

The window for implantation can change, it can be very very short for some people and hence they have difficulties getting pregnant in the first place, but for women like me who are able to concieve in less than 3 months every time (since my last son!) this is an issue as it can allow the less robust and genetically weak conceptions to implant, when normally they would not have enough time. For me this strangely makes so much sence as my m/c's have all measured significantly behind in dates. That is just me putting 2 and 2 together and making 3 !

The doc said that the normal time for conception takes between 6 and 8 months each time. (And ironically each of my live births took 8 months to concieve!). So for me there is a definite change from a sensible length of time to concieve to being able to get pregnancy when having SWI only once in the month, every month! There is something definitely not normal with that.

I will wait with interest to hear what my blood tests say. If they say anything!

Rowing - did you make any decisions over flights?

Hmmm chocolate cake, cheers Rainbow great to hear your appointment was so worthwhile. So does that mean your body goes pg sort of when it shouldn't? Sounds like you are finally getting some answers - very happy for you cause you deserve some good news after everything you've been through.

Rowing I do agree about tests my results were FSH 49, oestrogen 44 (which is low apparently) and progesterone was very low and basically didn't change between day 5 and day 20. I've since worked out that actually tests were done on days 9 and 26 which is a bit rubbish.Am really hoping for something like a normal cycle this month.

Have you decided to change your flights? Must be such a nightmare trying to get the timing right and then organise everything around it - I couldn't even get to the doctors on the right days let alone half way across Europe. I know its a bugger having to rebook everything but maybe the extra time between now and Sept will be a good thing - it did sound like you were maybe feeeling a bit rushed about this one?

Big hello to polly and gps, sorry to see you here but pull up a chair and have a couple of drinks with me.

Now sit tight I am going to tell you all about my appointment today.

Long trip to get there, but Dr Rai is fantastic. Treated me totally as an individual and not like "heres another over the hill recurrent miscarrier again". Nope he really listened and then explained what he thought might be the issues. He told me that asprin was a big no-no for me (phew glad about that). He said that it is not normal for a person to get pregnant in less than 3 months each and every time as I have in the last 2 years. He explained that this indicates that my "window" for implantation is too long. So instead of my body deselecting the genetically modified ones, it is letting all conceptions through which means that those that are not good are getting to the 5/6 week mark and failing. How he explained it and what he said made so much sence to me, and really helped. He ordered some extra blood tests, to rule out any other issues, but I have to take the progesterone from 3 days after ov, like I did this time, and just hope for a good genetic one. He was so good, excellent at explaining things and talking to me about it all.
He did discuss with me the pro's and con's of doing FSH / AMH testing, but pointed out that it makes no difference in terms of my specific treatment what the results show, and that even a "bad" number does not mean that a successful pregnancy can't happen. So the best thing in my case was to not bother with the test.
I have come away feeling like finally someone actually looked at me as an individual and is going to recommend any treatment specifically for me, not as a "let us try this". The best £500 I have ever spent in my thinking (cost less than this, but I am spending more on celebrating!!!! ). I will get the results and any other recommended treatment on the phone in 4 weeks time. Letters to my gp too.

Sorry I am enthusing wildly here, but things are just looking up for me for once.

If it was FSH they need to take it another couple of times to check whether it remains the same. It can go up and down with stress levels.
If it was AMH then I don't know what it means. Quite a few of the women on my FF thread had low AMH and are now pg.

I didn't know about this thread. but my recent history is a mmc in Feb, followed by 2 chemical pregnancies/early miscarriages. Last one last month when I was nearly 6 weeks, this month no ov at all. and am now thinking of giving up all together as dh practically makes me beg to swi and I am finding the pressure of it all too much. I am 40 and time is running out. and my due date is coming up for my mmc.

Creeps in to hut... Can't quite handle things on my usual thread at the moment. Rowing I really so hope you get that other line in time, nightmare trying to juggle eggs and airplanes.

Hello to anyone I know from the ttc thread, somehow feels like the hut is more appropriate for me at the moment.

Results of my bloodtests were pretty hopeless, DP is studiously avoiding the subject of actually going to get his swimmers looked at and there's no referral till he does.

Just hoping acupuncture and herbal stuff does something. Feel like swearing a lot, (must be menopausal then).

Rainbow Glad you've got an appointment to see someone, don't think yr eggs can be knackered yet or you wouldn't get PG so fast - really hope they can get to the bottom of why this keeps happening - fingers crossed for you.

Did another test this evening and it was very faint.
Google says the LH surge can last from 10 - 24 hours, which doesn't help. I could have missed the surge whilst sleeping. [rolls eyes]
Can't decide whether to cancel the flights or not. I think if I have ovulation pains by tomorrow I will go for it, and if not, postpone until September.
That's it, at least most of the airlines allow you to change the dates - except Easyjet!!

Rowing - arrggg how frustrating regarding the opk's. I never got on with them, so can't imagine how hard it must be with so much hanging on them.

Me - aaargh! Not good! Doing stupid OPKs to detect LH surge upon which hinges the whole blooming transfer, but wouldn't you know it, this month I can't get a positive, and it should have shown up yesterday. Just getting faint second lines, the strongest was Monday, but that wasn't very strong.
So now hoping and hoping that it comes today or tomorrow so we can go ahead, otherwise it's cancel flights time. I think I can move some of the flights to August, but we are supposed to be going away for a weekend with my brother at ovulation time next month.
Oh it's all very stressful.

...I'm not tall 5ft 3 - husband is 6ft. He looked small to us but when I started to make my way around the ward and saw the other babies I realised what a chunk he was!
