new thread.

for those who are having problems getting pg

or staying pg

or are simply fed up of being told to relax and having to smile and say "you never know"

  • queen - I wish I could bring you here to be with my GP. You would get everything you need with them. If your instincts are that it is the GBS that is the cause, then can't you find a GP who would be willing to prescribe you the a/b's? If not then if you do find yourself pg again soon, then try the old garlic clove thing. You might be avoided by loads of people, but if it worked to keep the gbs at bay a bit..... Sorry my ranting is not helping is it. so here is some more absinthe.

Julez - sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment too, do you have a favorite Hut drink that we can bring you?

WorzselMummage · 14/02/2010 16:29

You you ask for a refferal to prof regan ? You've been through enough to deserve one I think

I'm fine thanks. Life is ticking over nicely I'm getting married in may then we're going to turkey in June for our first family holiday I can't wait !

I can't blame you being worried about a bfp. Having multiple losses or pregnancy problems itcompletly ruins the whole experience. It's not fair

queenoftheslatterns · 14/02/2010 16:16

i dont know, will see if i can find it again. my gp wont prescribe ABs during pg without my cons's say so and he refuses. he also refuses to try progesterone. or steroids. instead i have to use heparin which im certain wont work AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

we arent really ttc at the mo, trying to decide what to do. im terrified of getting up the stick again. dh is gutted about the RAF, he has 2 interviews this week though so hopefully we will be ok.

how are you anyway?

WorzselMummage · 14/02/2010 16:09

it's not fair is it

Do you know which antibiotics they used in the states and at which dose ?

Are you not ttcing at the moment ?

It's a shame about your dh. How can they make him wait a year ?!

queenoftheslatterns · 14/02/2010 15:57

i have pleaded with my cons to prescribe AB's for me but his answer is that GBS is only a problem in labour (despite it getting into my uterus and lying there untreated for over a week) and when i last mc'd the symptoms were just like they were straight after having ds (high temp, flu-like symptoms, dizziness) but what do i know i even took in copies of research done in the US whereby women who'd suffered uterine GBS and subsequent rmc were given low dose ABs during pg and those pg's were successful.

WorzselMummage · 14/02/2010 15:39

Just saw this on active convos and popped in to drop off vodka and mini eggs.

lissie, can't they give you a long dose of antibiotics to kill off the gbs or a low dose when you get a bfp ?

I'm not ttc, most definatly not. I've been told that if we did want another I'd be on antibiotics all the way through cos of having my 2 early. I had gbs last time and they told me I didn't need antibiotics in labour as the antibiotics I was taking cos of the prom would be keeping it under control.

Might be worth considering ?

Hello to everyone else xx

queenoftheslatterns · 14/02/2010 15:13

she was "outed" in a DM article a while back and felt that her privacy had been compromised. but she is fine and has had a lovely baby girl!

littletortie · 14/02/2010 11:15

bloody hell

Dunno if you will know, but why have all anniemacs messages vanished??

Do you know if she had her baby?

queenoftheslatterns · 14/02/2010 11:08

mine too. 5 fecking days early!

littletortie · 14/02/2010 11:07

AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I have shagged like a sodding whore this ,month and period STILL arrives!!!

queenoftheslatterns · 14/02/2010 10:14

thanks for the advice rainbows, tbh we are going to leave the cons for a while, am getting increasingly frustrated, but still think that the problem is GBS because my temp rises so significantly before i mc.

hi julez, sorry (but good) to see you here. welcome to the hut. its a place to rant and cry about ftc and not have to put up with people moaning about "ttc for 2m and its not happening"

Julezboo · 13/02/2010 21:22

Can I sneak in here?

I just found this after looking for somewhere to put my miserable face.

I am desperately sad tonight. I know Lissie kinda knows my story already but for those that dont

late mc
DS1 born 31 weeks - i had a stroke, both survived luckily
mc
mc
mc
mc
DS2 - heparin and aspirin
mc
mc

I had tests just before I fell pregnant with DS2, basic ones I think and since my most recent mc over xmas just gone I have been referred to the new recurrent mc centre at cardii uni hospital. Cons mentioned progesterone.

I am desperately longing for another tiny squishy baby

rainbowdays · 12/02/2010 12:51

Asprin did nothing for me.... ! Forget the heparin, demand progesterone, it can't hurt and might do some good is what I have been told. Your GP should be able to prescribe it for you. It is very expensive that is why they don;t like prescribing it. I am having to pay a fortune for it. But if the problem with me, is aged hormones, as I have suspected all along for myself, then I am not going to fight the costs of it. I am feeling so much more confident this time.

How are you feeling today?

queenoftheslatterns · 12/02/2010 12:30

oooooooooooo wish i could persuade my cons to try progesterone. he seems convinced on heparin

rainbowdays · 12/02/2010 12:27

Don't want to be the bringer of smiles. But since you asked, this is the situation: had scan monday 1st feb, showed fetal pole but no growth since a week previously, no heartbeat, and measuring at 6 weeks when I was 8w2d. Another scan two days later, no change. Two days later on 8weeks6days, went for another scan, this time it had grown and developed a little beating heart!!!!!!!
So quitely hopeful that progesterone and acupuncture have done the trick for me and held onto this little one. I am calm and relaxed and very hopeful for this one. I wish I could transfer some of that hope to you. Really hope you feel better soon too.

queenoftheslatterns · 12/02/2010 11:16

no, no, stay!

how are you? whens your next scan? how was the last one?

rainbowdays · 12/02/2010 10:01
queenoftheslatterns · 12/02/2010 08:34

am just feeling v sorry for myself, add to that that I am recovering (with a small r) from a D&V virus that has been so bad Ive lost 2 dress sizes since monday and dh and i arent getting on terribly well.

rainbowdays · 07/02/2010 10:39
queenoftheslatterns · 06/02/2010 16:30

really, really struggling and this is the only place i can really let rip. had nephews 5th birthday party today and every child had a younger sibling. its 3 years on monday since my ep. i really wanted to stop ttc and i cant. ive been on the verge of tears all day and have a headache now from trying not to cry. we have been ttc for 4.5 years. why is it so fucking hard?

rainbowdays · 05/02/2010 22:21

(Sorry I am not allowed here as too happy) Rainbowdays - popping in with some home-made sloe gin, crate of wine and a bumper box of chocs.....

queenoftheslatterns · 05/02/2010 18:45

he has been put back again. they reckon it'll be a year. nothing is going right for us. everyone else is having babies. my scummy cousin stands trial this month and a woman/girl who was pg at the same time i was with ds, has had another since and is up the spout again with a new bf. i should be 20w pg now and its 3y since my ep. we've lost so much and i hate my wretched body

duchesse · 05/02/2010 11:21

Oh darling (can't quite use your new name yet, sorry). Has he gone now?

queenoftheslatterns · 04/02/2010 21:20

its lissie btw.

queenoftheslatterns · 04/02/2010 21:20
