LoobyLou - I've definitely got the old sore elbow. Painful to even write this post.

Actually, I only ovulated on Sun - so guessing implantation is a long time off yet (next Sun??). How come it's only Tuesday...?

Bettymum · 30/06/2009 12:25

Hello ladies, I've been on holiday so haven't been checking in. AF got me yesterday when we stopped at the service station on the long drive home from the Lakes
So I guess I'll go and hop on to the April bus but congrats to all the BFPs and good luck to everyone else!

teenycalls · 30/06/2009 10:25

Hi NewMember, if you are getting so stressed about TTC then I guess getting tests is the right thing as it might set your mind at at rest and there is no doubt that being relaxed helps with TTC. I have moments where I think that we might have problems but the chances are that we don't. Whatever the results, remember it only takes one! And there are so many options these days. If your relationship is strong enough to TTC then it is strong enough to handle anything else.

I think one of the problems with us ladies is that we are so used to having control over everything in our lives and then we TTC and have no control whatsoever! Just try to enjoy the rollercoaster, chances are you will be getting off soon IYSWIM

Good luck (Moral support emoticon)

NewMember · 30/06/2009 09:08

Hi Ladies,

I went to the Nurse yesterday as I am getting a bit stressed out with trying to conceive, think its almost 8 months! She said the CBFM is so accurate - they dont need to do OV tests as I am obv OV!

My DP is going to the docs today to discuss a sperm check! Has anyone else had there DP do this - I am so scared if there is a prob!

We would both be devastated - I am so worried for him incase he gets a wee shock! He is so confident in thinking he will be ok!

What do u think?

teenycalls · 30/06/2009 08:43

Update for today, still haven't tested

teenycalls your post made me laff. I cant resist either, i was the same with my first two pregnancies. I even tested again when i was 10 weeks pregnant to make sure the "bean" was still there and that i was still pregnant. Its so easy to become obsessed. I have been smptom spotting even tho its only two dpo, sad i know. But i have convinced myself im pregnant. So easy to do tho...hope i am. I already feel sick, faint, have terrible headache, and i have the classic sore elbow so must be true! even this early...

LoobyLou82 · 29/06/2009 17:00

sweetkitty there is 19 months between my two DS's and if i fall pregnant this month then it would also be 18 months gap too. I just want another now as im already in the baby zone and dont wanna wait five years then go back to start again. That way i get them all out of nappies within the shortest space of time

NancyPreg · 29/06/2009 15:26

Knowing that pg tests are in the drawer is almost as bad as knowing that choc from Hotel Chocolat is hidden in a drawer...can I resist such delicious choco? Let's just say that I'm better at resisting HPTs than Hotel Chocolat

teenycalls · 29/06/2009 15:10

Well I did go in Boots but I didn't buy a HPT, bought some lovely bronzey face highlighter instead (temporarily feels very virtuous...)

However, I cracked and went in Superdrug about 10 minutes later and bought a 2 pack! I justified this on the grounds that I will need them at some point, they are now calling to me from my drawer - DP is going to have me carted off in a white van if this carries on! Determined not to test until at least Wednesday (makes note to get tips on self restraint from Summer2008 and NancyPreg...)

NancyPreg · 29/06/2009 14:37

teeny the smoking gun for me was the elbow pain - that has got to imply a successful month of ttc . Your list sounds very promising...did you resist Boots earlier?!

summer I think we're all symptom spotting - it's almost impossible not to, although I am trying to keep my mind from wandering too much...at least until a few more days have passed

Summer2008 · 29/06/2009 13:11

teenycalls - Your post really made me laugh! I thought I was the only one symptom spotting mad.

Seems like were on the same calendar day, so fingers crossed this is your month and anyone else due to test soon.

teenycalls · 29/06/2009 12:09

Ooh, good luck to all you OVing ladies, I expect lots of BD from you

I am on CD27 and symptom high alert:
I feel exhausted (could be all the DIY)
My mouth tastes funny (could be garlic breath)
My tea smells a bit bleachy (maybe they Chlorinated the water)
I have very mild cramping and have since CD20 (could be onset of AF)
My nipples are sore (could have caused this by constant checking if nipples are sore!)
My elbow hurts (I know, i'm scraping the barrel!)

I know i'm a fruit loop but know you ladies understand

Off into town at lunch and will have to resist the magnetic pull of Boots

NancyPreg · 29/06/2009 12:06

missiek sorry af got you but glad you are feeling positive and looking forward to getting down and dirrrty with dh this cycle!!

sweet I'm an old hand at this ttc lark too - I hadn't thought about it in numerical terms until I saw your post but this is my 6th time ttc a fact that quite surprised me when I realised!

I think ttc bucks the trend because in other aspects of life, the more experience you have of something (e.g. an activity or a job or whatever), the easier it becomes...not with ttc!!

Dlamis · 29/06/2009 11:24

Sweetkitty - Hurray for af arriving. There's only you on this thread we can say that for

I seem to be getting a bit of ewcm already this month so hopefully 'o' is going to be a bit earlier this month. Bloomin' irregular cycles, never know what's going on.

sweetkitty · 29/06/2009 11:08

loobylou - I am a fan of small age gaps, I want all my children close together is possible, there is 18 months between DD1 and 2, 2 1/2 years between DD2 and 3 (wanted it closer wasn't to be) and DD3 is 11 months just now. DD1 and 2 are so close and play so well together.

LoobyLou82 · 29/06/2009 10:50

Nanoo mittelschmitz for me feels like a pain on either side a dull achy pain that lasts about a day. This time it was my laft side and was really quite painful. My left ovary is my lucky ovary, both DS's were conceived from eggs from that side too, so fingers crossed its a good one this month too. I get it really quite sore, its like a stabby pain that kind of throbs for about 24 hours. I was joking last night that as it was more painful than nornal that my body may have prodced two eggs, twins! on top of two little boys under the age of 3 1/2. Nanoo I think your 5 days ahead of me so yes im in the 2ww part now too as think i have ovulated.

sweetkitty im going thru this for the 4th time so i know how you feel. Have two boys and had a mc too.

good luck everyone

sweetkitty · 29/06/2009 09:55

misiek - aww sorry AF got you, wine is vital on CD1 of a new cycle, she got me yesterday as well so we are going to be new cycle buddies, I have registered myself over in the April thread too. I cannot believe I am going through all this TTC business again, this will be the 5th time TBH I am a little scared as well, 4 children

teenycalls · 29/06/2009 09:53

missiek · 29/06/2009 09:14

thanks for the support girls, it really has helped. Maybe I'm not past it just yet . Anyway, the witch got me yesterday, but am feeling much more positive for some strange reason. Had long talk with DH and we're going to give a proper go this month (oooerrr). I'm cutting down on the wine (yesterday doesn't count LOL), going to take my vits and eat healthily and try not to get stressed and will use the opk tests too. Going to stay on this bus as its a lucky one! Come on, lets see more BFP's. x

teenycalls · 28/06/2009 22:49

Thanks Nancy, I will do my best to wait until Thursday - hoping that AF doesn't get me first

Is it bad that I was secretly hoping that they had invented at HPT that could accurately tell you if you were pg as soon as you had BD'd and that I just hadn't heard about it? I was playing the 'do you think I am' game with DP earlier to which he replied 'Pink and hairy, not crystal!'. Charming!

sweetkitty · 28/06/2009 21:59

Thanks for the AF congratulations ladies, feels strange though as when I looked at my chart it's exactly when I should have had AF so I had one on 8th May then nothing, then this one, one AF was missing completely, am going to purchase some OPKS this month just to see if I am OVing again used to be CD15.

Last time I got PG we BDed CD11 and 13 and missed OV completely, I thought we had missed the window but there you go, nature is a funny old thing and the first two times I was pregnant it was ONCE that month.

LOM - sorry about AF even with a BFN you still have a wee bit of hope until AF comes acalling

nanoo - I wouls describe mittelschwerz as a dull ache low down on one side lasts a few hours, I always preferred to use EWCM as better indicator

NancyPreg · 28/06/2009 21:46

LOM that's too bad, even though you'd had a BFN it still sucks! Better luck awaits you on the April bus, you'll see!

Looby it is possible that you did enough bd around the time of ovulation to secure a fertilised egg!

nanoo mittelschmerz is a lower abdominal sensation that accompanies the release of an egg; it's hard to put into words what it feels like! Sort of like a tugging/pulling sensation, quite noticeable but not painful in the ordinary sense of the word...I can usually determine which ovary the egg pops out of too when I get this sensation although I have a friend who has never felt herself ovulate (according to Wiki, only 20% of women ever experience it).

teeny I guess it depends when you think you ovulated? Why not wait until CD30, somewhere in the middle of the min and max UCL?

teenycalls · 28/06/2009 21:14

sweetkitty congratulations on getting AF! Feels a little surreal saying that on this thread!

Have been saved from the madness of the 2ww this weekend as DIY galore but work tomorrow so back to wondering if I am up the duff aproximately event 5 seconds! My last cycle was 29 days but can be up to 32, any advice about when to test?

nanoo · 28/06/2009 20:51

Ps what does the mittelschmitz feel like?

nanoo · 28/06/2009 20:47

Loobylou, I'm no expert, but the docs at my fertility clinic (am currently having treatment) say every two days is fine. Apparently sperm can live about 2-3 days inside - so missing a day isn't so much a problem. However they do say, for our best best chance we should BD every day around ovulation. My DH is exactly the same - in fact he's far worse - he gets so stressed about performing during ovulation (because we've been wanting this so desperately for so long), that sometimes we miss it entirely :-(

V pleased you're on the bus at it looks like we ov roughly the same time...so we'll be doing the painful 2WW together. I'm counting mine from today [starts tapping fingers on table impatiently]
