I know some people have irregular cycle lengths, but is it poss to have irregular ovulation?

I mean, sometimes my UCL is as short as 26 days, longest would be around 31 days. I think I ovulate quite late in the cycle (around day 16), that's just guessing by knicker checking.

Someone told me that the later you ovulate in the cycle the less change the egg has to get to the place it needs to be for the sperm to fert. Is that true?

Just curious to hear what other women experience.

I'm off on holiday today for a couple of weeks - well, it's one way to get through 2ww - all the best, hope to see good news when I get back!

liahgen · 04/06/2009 21:52

yeah, we'd quite like another little boy to eve it up a bit.

Oh yes me time is very precious no matter how much we love and adore out=r young uns.

NancyPreg · 04/06/2009 21:43

It seems that your dc6 should be a ds, to even up the numbers!!

As much as we adore our dc...we also adore the time when they are in nursery/school

liahgen · 04/06/2009 21:13

I only have 5 so far

dd 14
ds 11 and half, (going secondary in Sept)
ds 6 in couple weeks
dd 4 starts school in sept
dd just 2, my baby, can go to playschool from January

so realistically I would have childfree time for 2 mornings a week for 2 months before next baby arrives even if I conceive this month, gosh, what will i do with myself?

NancyPreg · 04/06/2009 21:09

It seems a bit of a silly rule that only three consecutive mc can be investigated (on the NHS at least) because surely a mc is a mc is a mc?! My youngest is 4yrs old. One of her presents this year was a sunflower growing kit: three pots, nine seeds and a cute watering can. My dh put compost in each pot and three seeds in each one....we watered and waited. In my dd's pot, 3/3 seeds germinated. In my pot, 2/3 seeds germinated and in my dh's pot....0/3

So yes, like seeds, I guess some pg will flourish and others sadly will not.

Having six dc must keep you very busy, are they all at school?

liahgen · 04/06/2009 20:36

no I never had explanations except the 1st many years ago, placental failure, (20 wks)

other 3 were 11wks, 10+5 and 6 wks at Xmas just gone. They didn't investigate as they weren't consecutive. Just one of those things I guess in my situation. So many pgs, some are bound to fail.

Hope you manage to get some answers, how old is your youngest?

NancyPreg · 04/06/2009 20:31

Thanks liahgen. Sorry to hear about your four losses - did you ever get any kind of explanation for them? Anyway, I see from the list that you are TTC#6! Wow, you go girl!!!

liahgen · 04/06/2009 20:19

Oh Nancy, I feel for you, do not be embarassed about shedding tears. I've had 4 losses at various times and it's never easy. Be gentle with yourself, however early, this was your baby and you had plans made for it, you need to grieve. x

NewMember · 04/06/2009 20:18

I do make it as fun and loving as possible tho

NewMember · 04/06/2009 20:15

Welcome Nancy - hope your doing ok

OHHHHH I tell my DP when my CBFM shows High or Peak ... needs must! I am always scared that I dont have enough sperm floating around for when my egg is there! So sex every night until my fertility is low!

I do must it as fun and loving as possible tho

NancyPreg · 04/06/2009 20:07

Thanks for the welcome and it sounds as though liahgen and NewMember are being as busy as bees atm!

It's been a mixed day for me, felt OK until later this afternoon and had a few tears in the bath but I know that an early mc is preferable to a late one...even if that is a but like a Morton's Fork . Anyways...I'll see what the doc has to offer next week.

I don't tell my dh when I'm due to ovulate but I think he has realised that there is a link between it and when we bd

ilove2shop · 04/06/2009 20:03

oh yes... the man pressure!!!

dh is the same! I just dont tell him, be spontanous...eg not just at bed time, send little texts, dress up etc.... really helps taking off the pressure, and makes it more fun not just another job to do!!!

Nancy really sorry to hear of your loss, hope you are ok and the doctors can help you xx

NewMember · 04/06/2009 20:02

Well I think when the 4th/5th night came ... he was getting a bit tired! lol.

I imagine he would prefer it to be more relaxed and romantic, but needs must so we both just need to hang in there! We want nothing more than a little bundle of joy, so I guess we will pretty much do anything!

He is in a shower just now hahaha!

liahgen · 04/06/2009 18:38

new

Dh asked me last night what other men think about being put under pressure to perform. Might do a thread on the dads section. What does your dp think?

Am trying not to tell him when ov occurs, however this is the 1st time i've been sure cos of the smiley face and he's working late tonight so nice bath and body rub will be waiting for him i think. I really don't want to miss this month, no test sticks left so will have to assume tomorrow would be a good bet aswell.

Oh well, maybe the weekend to recuperate,

NewMember · 04/06/2009 18:18

Another peak today, poor DP will be running away from me, tonight will be the 7th night in a row! Shame ... haha! Tonight and tomorrow night will hopefully be enough Tired ...

liahgen · 04/06/2009 16:05

Meant to say newmember hope it went well last night,

Summer2008 · 04/06/2009 15:46

liahgen - Happy to help if I can, the only reason I know is that I ovulated late and did lost of research as I was worried like you are now and the smiley face did appear eventually. Your cycle may just be running later than normal this month.

Nancy - So sorry to hear your news and it really is devastating when you find out. Really hope the doctor can help.

liahgen · 04/06/2009 15:43

OMG just got smiley face.

poor dh is already feeling the pressure. Will have to pull out all the stops tonight.

liahgen · 04/06/2009 15:36

nancy sorry to hear your news, we're a friendly bunch here.

Lizkin · 04/06/2009 13:56

Hello ladies,

I joined the Feb bus but to be honest I think March is just as likely (due date 28 Feb)- does anyone mind if I sit on the fence?
