Ikwym, ds uses me as a dummy at night too. He has only ever slept through twice, last week 2 nights together and i started getting all excited tinking we'd cracked it but it wasn't to be.

I don't think i'm on your facebook, afaik i'm not on anybodys unless i got on there by accident!. I'm all intrigued now

Hobnobfanatic · 09/06/2009 23:48

I'm so sorry, NancyPreg - that must be some rollercoaster you've been on the last nine months. Good news on the referral - I hope they get to the bottom of it quickly - I'm sure they will.

sweetkitty · 09/06/2009 22:53

Dlamis - I don't want to stop feeding DD3 completely just try and get her to stop using me as a dummy at night, can I ask you are you on my FB, don't want to "out" you but if you are (and I think I know how you are) can you send me a message , I'm TTC in secret as well.

Dlamis · 09/06/2009 22:29

Hobnob - hope you get some answers soon.

NancyPreg - glad you got your referal

Teeny - We were married 9 years before we started ttc. Quite a few grandparentspeople had given up waiting were a bit suprised when it finally happened.

We are going away for a few days which should pass a bit of time in the 2ww. Fingers crossed liahgen will have a BFP by the time we get back.

Dlamis · 09/06/2009 22:15

SK - yep we're going for no3. Like you it's a case of doing it sooner rather than later and not wanting too big a gap,and no-one in RL knows we are trying yet, (although some know we may try one day). STill bf'ing ds2 and cycles are a bit eratic though.

Dh did say last night he thinks 4 is a good number. My face was .

sweetkitty · 09/06/2009 21:45

Thanks for the welcome ladies, this will be my fifth time ttc so feel like a bit of an expert

Re: OPKs I have used the Clearblue Digital ones and ebay cheapie ones, I was surprised using them for the first time as I have a 27 day cycle but OV day 15 which is later than I thought. It's good to know when you OV I think, also looking for other signs, I have never done temping but I have very definite EWCM.

I am trying to drop a few more feeds with DD3 to see if this will trigger anything, she's 11 months now but has quite a few feeds in the night still as she doesn't sleep well

liaghen - fingers crossed for you

Nancypreg - so sorry to hear about your mcs but glad you have been referred

teenycalls · 09/06/2009 21:36

Thanks for the welcome NancyPreg, it's nice to feel like i'm going through this with others - all my friends have already had kids and would be quite shocked if I told them me and DP are trying (after 10 years of protesting we've given in to our biological clocks!)

Am thinking of buying some ovulation tests as cycle can vary 28-32 days and think I need to get to know it better! Anyone have any advice on which ones etc?

NancyPreg · 09/06/2009 19:44

hobnob, good luck with your tests and hope you get some answers if there is a problem (which there might not be of course and March could be your month!). I've been referred because I've had three consecutive mc in the last 9mths (the first two were discovered at 12wks but the third one I mc spontaneously last week) so I'm wondering about the reason why. My doc today didn't even seem to think that you had to have three mc to get referred so I could've pursued a referral in Feb but never mind.

liaghen - fingers crossed for you and everyone else this month!

liahgen · 09/06/2009 18:03

welcome newbies.

Well i'm feeling lucky this month. Next monday 15th would be earliest I coule reliably test though, this is gonna be a long week.

sweetkitty · 09/06/2009 16:06

Dlamis - you have a good memory yes I was due March 08, had a mc, then DD3 in July 08, DH and I had a good old chat and decided we both wanted one more (gulp) sooner rather than later as we don't want a big gap to number 4 so here I am, huge secret though no one in RL will approve, not that I care.

So your off for number 3 then I adore having 3, DD3 is an utter joy adored by everyone?

Hobnobfanatic · 09/06/2009 15:56

Thanks, NancyPreg. What help am I looking for? I just don't know! All I know is that I fell pregnant instantly with my first DD. Now, 6 years older and with a new DP, we're just not having any luck, despite charts, temperatures and OV kits. I'm 37 so we can't hang around! My bloods have come back normal, DP has a sperm test next month, and next week I'll see what other investigations they'll do into me... Ooo-errrr!

I have a feeling I've had two non-stickies in the last 7 months - I was sure I was pregnant in Dec and again this month, but who knows?

Good luck for you with your gynae appt. Why have you been referred?

Dlamis · 09/06/2009 15:19

I remember you from March08 for a while. (I was DontlookatmeImshy)

sweetkitty · 09/06/2009 12:29

Oh hello I am secretly starting to TTC#4 this month would love a March baby

Only thing is AF is MIA, am still BFing DD3, had bleeding last month for 3 days thought it was AF returning, was due AF last week but nothing, did a test and it was BFN, usually have a 27 day cycle, now when I am Oving etc.

So can I hang out here until she shows her face? Must be the only one wanting her to turn up this month lol

NancyPreg · 09/06/2009 11:52

Morning all, the doc has referred me to the gynae dept...he didn't know the waiting list but guessed about two months but he said, 'in the meantime, just carry on with what you're doing' ....and what would that be, I wonder?!

Sorry AF got you hobnob and good luck for your appt next week. What type of help are you looking for?

Hobnobfanatic · 09/06/2009 11:11

Here we go again... Eighth time lucky for me, hopefully!
AF arrived early - which it never usually does - so here I am... Consultant appt next week - really hope to get some answers soon!

takelovingchances In my head I'd written that I'd asked my GP (lady with two kids) - but obviously I'd ommited the word GP here!

TakeLovingChances · 08/06/2009 23:17

skihorse who did you ask? Other MNers, or a health professional?

I too am knicker checking , think it's a bit early for me yet, another few days should do it. My boobs are really tender today; not sure if that's a sign of ovulation or not.

We're taking things nice and easy atm, still only on cycle 3, so in no huge rush to conceive this month.

Hope everyone else is well.

Hi everyone, just updated the list cos my CD was out of kilter with reality!

LOM - not good timing...unless you ovulate later than usual this month?

AFAIK, it really doesn't matter when in your CD that you ovulate, what is more important is the length of the luteal phase (as has been pointed out already). I've read that taking vitamin B6 (miminum 100mg per day) can help to lenthen the LP but I wouldn't advocate self-medicating...perhaps you could do a search on MN for B6?

Well I've got my doc's appt tomorrow to ask about recurrent mc, so I'm wondering what he'll tell me....

I asked about this because my cycle is only 26 days and I'm ovulating (knicker checking + pain today) bang on day 12. Anyway, she said that short cycles per se were not so much of a problem unless your cycle is literally 12 days long, she told me that can happen.

TakeLovingChances · 08/06/2009 16:45

Thanks diamis that makes sense to me now.

I think my first cycle of ttc was only about 8 days, but last month (cycle 2) was 11 days (I think).

I wonder if there's anything that can be done to change it, or make it longer?

LittleOneMum I know what you mean! Next month I'm going away for 2 weeks, will be over my fertile weeks, am going away on a church thing without my husband. If we aren't successful this month, we'll need to wait for Aug to try again. Oh well.

LittleOneMum · 08/06/2009 10:51

Oh, balls my DH has just been sent away for work for a week at the wrong time !!! It's so frustrating...

Hope everyone is well and happy.

Dlamis · 08/06/2009 10:34

TLC - As far as i understand your cycle length depends on when you ovulate and the length of time between O and af (the Luteal Phase). The LP is usually fairly constant, so if eg you have a LP of 14 days and you ovulate on day 12, your next af should arrive on day 26, If you ovulate on day 16 you next af should arrive on day 30.

LP's can vary sometimes though. When i was trying ttc #2 my LP's varied between 10-12 days, which may have been because i was still bf'ing ds1.

The longer the LP the more chance the egg has of implanting. An LP of at least 10 days is needed to support a pregnancy. Some sites say 12 days but we managed to concieve with a 10-12 day LP.
