Hi,
Just wondered if anyone thats had a mc got pregnant after their first period? We want to try again, but are hoping it doesnt take to long to concieve.... a lot of people have said that it takes up to a year to concieve again, but can't wait that long.. any insight would be good, thank you.

Milliemuffin THAT's AWESOME! My mc was at 9w6d (so 10wks). I counted the day of my mc as day 1 of my cycle, bd on cd17, and got bfp 10 days after that so cd27. 268 days after the bd my dd2 was born. Best wishes to you with this one. You sound like you are well on your well. YEAH!!!!

Hi ladies, just wanted to let you know my situation. i had a mc on 12th march at 10 weeks and had a scan on 20th march to say all was clear and womb was back to normal. We bd'd on 1st april and then i had what i thought was a very light period on 9th april. we bd'd again on 23rd april and yesterday i did a test and got a bfp. the only thing is is that AF wasn't due til today so i was convinced the test would be negative this early on but as the line was so bold now i'm thinking was it a period on 9th april or possible implantation bleed? suppose i won't know for sure til i have a scan. really hoping this one's for keeps xxx

This thread has just made me feel so much better. I had a scan at 10 weeks and everything was fine - dates/size were spot on. I thought I was OK, so told everyone. Then went for another scan yesterday at about 13.5 weeks, and the gynae couldn't find a heartbeat. It turns out I lost the baby about 1 week ago. Have to go and have an ERPC on Thursday. I'm so gutted, as it would have been my first, and me and DH were so happy when we conceived so quickly (2nd month of trying). It's reassuring to hear that other people have been through this and come out the other side. At the moment I just feel so sad, and keep wondering how a healthy baby at 10 weeks can suddenly just disappear.

Thandeka · 23/04/2009 20:18

This is a great thread and giving me hope. I had a MMC on sunday at 10weeks (emby died at 6weeks but egg sac continued growing).

We are planning to start trying straight away so fingers crossed.

beaner07 · 22/04/2009 22:05

PrincessB - sorry just read your other post that you are 26 weeks - congrats - my brain doesn't engage much after 9.00pm!

beaner07 · 22/04/2009 22:00

Doggus - I also felt really cheated , I felt exactly the same that getting nearer to the 12 week mark and thinking you are over the worst bit and getting into the clear - I am just glad that I didn't get as far as having a scan and them tell me something was wrong!

PrincessB - glad you managed to work some magic on DH . Are you pg again?? I was really worried about having a third especially as DS2 was only 11 months when I found out I was pg, but now well you probably know how I feel.

Dani - sorry to hear of your loss at 12 weeks also - but like you I do crave to be pg again, I am sure you will be soon .

doggus · 22/04/2009 20:16

What sad stories, but also lovely stories of hope for us!

beaner - sounds like we were in the same boat at roughly the same time. I know any time is awful but 12/13 weeks is poignant as you think you're in the clear and you have gone through all the rubbish part of pregnancy, the sick and tired bit. I felt SO cheated.

arena · 22/04/2009 13:33

I had a m/c back in november, i was pregnant again after 1 week of the m/c. I tryed as soon as the bleeding stopped.

Im 6 months pregnant now, good luck!!!!.

Angelfifi · 22/04/2009 13:09

Hi,
I would just like to say thank you to everyone for their coments, its nice to know we are not alone and good luck to everyone, i have finished my first period after mc, we are going to try again but i'm not banking on it happening that quick, but fingers crossed.

I had a mc in December (5 weeks) and conceived exactly 2 weeks later. Sadly I mc again at 5 weeks and it has taken almost 3 months to have another proper cycle and get my HCG levels down for some reason.

However, the fact that I had another mc isn't connected to the time frame, drs have said I was just unlucky so yes it is totally possible !
Sorry for your loss and good luck!

dani87 · 22/04/2009 10:25

hi i had mc at 12weeks at start of feb 09 and ive been ttc since and its good to read that ppl are concieving not long after a mc. I have been checking to see when im ovalating. i just hope it happens soon for some reason i just crave to be pg again does anyone else feel like this???

catsmother · 21/04/2009 22:19

I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks at the beginning of September last year (at the age of 43, almost 44). I then had 1 period exactly 4 weeks after, and became pregnant again, though also lost that pregnancy at 7 weeks as well at the end of Nov (I was 44 by then).

Am still trying ....... checking everything I can, and appear to be ovulating.

PrincessButtercup · 21/04/2009 21:58

Beaner - I know just how you felt. I wasn't absolutely sure I wanted a third dc until I miscarried, then my hormones wouldn't let me NOT try for another one and it had to be straight away! I managed to work my way around DH

PrincessButtercup · 21/04/2009 21:56

Me too, Twilight surfer. My mc was at only 6 weeks and seemed to take the form of AF (bled normal amount for about 5 days). As there was no further bleeding, I deemed it safe to carry on TTC. I'm now 26 weeks pg and all seems fine.

The only issue with getting pg before my first 'official' AF was dating this pg, so had to have an earlier dating scan.

It can work! Good luck!

beaner07 · 21/04/2009 21:54

Doggus - sorry to hear about your loss - I had a m/c over Easter at 13 weeks (3 days before my scan) but I have two lovely boys to keep me busy .

I am also wanting to pg again straight away but DH wants to wait until after one period at least. It is hard isn't it - hope all those trying get BFP's soon and those who are pg again have happy and healthy times.

TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 21:49

Angelfifi, I got pregnant 17 DAYS after I miscarried. I felt very fertile within a week of the miscarriage so I went for it (only one attempt). I have an 8 month old as proof. Was due June 2008 first but ended up birthing August 2008.

blondieminx · 21/04/2009 21:47

Hi all, can I join you too?

So sorry to hear about the MC's. I had a very early one the first weekend in March at 5 and a bit weeks.

We're taking it easy this month and next - then it'll be full steam ahead for a Spring 2010 baby

I hope to see lots of BFP's on here soon, good luck ladies.

doggus · 21/04/2009 20:23

I am in the same boat - I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks (day before my scan) in March. I got a negative pregnancy test 2 weeks after and then another test showed I was ovulating a few days later.

Though we have bd'ed like the clappers all that week I don't think I am pg unfortunately as I am in the filthy mood which usually precedes AF!

Never mind ,we shall keep trying.

So sorry to read about all your mc's but at the same time it's nice to know I am not the only one.

YanknCock · 21/04/2009 20:13

'A bloody mess' = A nice combo of SPD, ante-natal depression, and severe morning sickness. But the sickness is finally down to 1-2 times a week, and got on some different antidepressants so feeling a bit better. But it hurts when I walk, lift anything, sit wrong, etc etc.

Now that we know it's a boy and he's kicking, I'm not having that 'what the hell have I done' feeling so much anymore. I just wish I could hit a fast-forward button and get to meet him sooner!

Coming up to what should have been my due date in early May, so a little worried about how I will handle it.

jardins · 21/04/2009 19:20

It's nice to hear othe people's stories. I'm so happy for YanknCock: FAB news. ps Why are you a bloody mess? Or is that thoroughly indiscrete?

Doozerhead I completely agree with the 'nice early dating scan' option: I didn't buy the wait until first period argument.

doozerhead · 21/04/2009 18:55

Hi all, so sorry to hear about your mcs.
I was diagnosed with a mmc in Jan at 10.5 weeks, had an ERPC beginning of Feb. AF returned like clockwork 28 days later. Since then I have been temping as I find it very reassuring to see that I appear to be ovulating again. (i bought my thermometer online for about 4 quid so it's a nice cheap option!). Obviously the only thing which will really help me move on is being pg again, but in the meantime I am finding taking my temp everyday and charting is something constructive I can do, so managing to carry on with everyday life relatively normally while we ttc again! I've heard of lots of people conceiving again straight away after mc, and the consultant we saw said the only reason to wait one cycle, which they recommended, was so that they can accurately date the pregnancy (frankly, i'd happily have taken a nice early dating scan so didn't think this was a particularly good reason to wait!)
Hope this helps.

YanknCock · 21/04/2009 17:44

Took a year for me to get pregnant (PCOS), but miscarried at 7 weeks. Got pregnant again on third cycle after miscarriage, and was so surprised because we'd only had sex once that month and it wasn't that close to when I ovulated. 22 weeks now, having a boy, and all is well (or all is well with the baby, I'm a bloody mess, but that's another story!).

minxofmancunia · 21/04/2009 17:33

I had a mc in Sept 08 and got pg again xmas day! had 2 periods inbetween, so not too long to wait, best of luck
