Hi,
Just wondered if anyone thats had a mc got pregnant after their first period? We want to try again, but are hoping it doesnt take to long to concieve.... a lot of people have said that it takes up to a year to concieve again, but can't wait that long.. any insight would be good, thank you.

Hi all, I just happened on this thread as it came up in new posts. I had a miscarriage in June after one round of clomid and then no heartbeat. Am on CD22 today and the first month of trying again. Am not holding out too much hope but if you don't mind I'd like to pop in every now and again to read other stories.

Congratulations on the BFPs

alx31 · 03/08/2009 19:04

hi there, i found out i had had a mmc at 8 weeks in march and have just found out i am pg again. 6 weeks tomorrow. so on that note, i guess it can happen pretty quickly!
it's a scary time as i've been having loads of cramps and can't get an early scan until next week. Anyone else had similar symptoms?

Angelfifi · 19/05/2009 10:05

I'll leave you for the time being with a scattering of babydust. Have a glass of wine for me will you - am missing it already...

Angelfifi · 18/05/2009 07:19

oh my goodness! This is obviously a very lucky thread, wow!

Angelfifi oh dammit that AF came but as Jardins said, I'm hoping it's just your body doing a spring clean ready to make a lovely cushiony lining for a new bean next month, I do wish you lots of luck and for a nice line on that stick in a few weeks time. This seems to be a lucky thread - bet it's your turn next!

Jardins and Mowmi huge congratulations to you both, wow! Hope you're both feeling fine. Mowmi it sounds like you have really been through it so your docs should be very happy to do tests or arrange to get them done to put your mind at rest... will your doc refer you straight to your EPU?

I've been booked in for consultant-led care cos of my thyroid prob and I'm hoping that because of the MC they'll agree to do an early scan. Then I might believe that this time it might be ok. Feel fine in myself, still got hugely oversensitive sense of smell but not actually been sick yet thank god. Tummy feels puffed out though. Have also developed a craving for Cherry Drops - thank god dentistry is free while you're preggers as I'm getting through a pack a day at the moment [grin!].

mowmi · 17/05/2009 11:41

Congratulations Jardins and Blondiemix!!
Hope you don't mind me popping in you usually find me on the assisted conception thread!
I got a BFP friday too - we've had 2 rounds of IVF, 1) didn't work 2) did but mmc at 8+4.
I found it really hard to get over and kept pushing the timeline to start again further and further back...
DH had testicular cancer last year which had affected his normality count prior to being diagnosed.
The chemo he had to have put him at 50/50 risk of being infertile so we cracked on with IVF.
It's been just over 12 months since his last chemo (he's been given all clear and docs are very happy with him!) and were given the go ahead to start trying again naturally
Was going to book an appointment this week to get DH's sperm analysis done when I realised my boobs felt weird and tingly - did a test on friday and BFP!!
We are staggered!!
I feeling fairly calm but I'm also thinking about the mc and wondering if it's going to happen again....sure you ladies are all in the same boat?!
Last time I knew it wasn't great (low hcg, nothing in the sac at ep scan...) but it took a month to get a absolute not viable (was so drawn out)
Going to try and take this one day at a time and enjoy each day I'm pregnant - last time I just tried not to get attached because I was told the odds weren't great.
Doc has agreed to see me on Tuesday which I know is very early...I don't know whether to get HCG test or just see how it goes.... sorry I'm really rambling now so I'll stop!

Congratulations again

jardins · 17/05/2009 09:41

Dear all, guess what? I did a test last night at around 3.30am - at CD 29 - AND IT WAS BFP!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't going to test this week-end but my cycles are usually no longer than 28 days. Also I was so tired and emotional yesterday and have been having regular bouts of nausea and sore breasts too over the past week. I guess the brown mucus I had CD 25 must have been implantation bleeding.

I am so HAPPY girls. Although I cannot ignore the fear that I feel after my mc two months ago. I guess it's a much quieter joy.

How is everybody out there?

TwilightSurfer · 16/05/2009 13:09

Blondieminx that is absolutely incredible news. Congratulations and best wishes for an uneventful nine more months.

Angelfifi · 16/05/2009 11:39

Hi jardins hows things with you, has af arrived for you or is it to early or have we had a bfp!?!?!?!
Lets hope its a good month for all of us! xx

Blondieminx, HURRAH!!!! I'm absolutely thrilled for you, my deary! What fab news. How aer you feeling?

Anglefifi? It's great your body is getting back into swing here: here's to next month being the month for you.

Angelfifi · 16/05/2009 06:52

Whooo!! well done you! Congrats!!!
My af came with a vengence so it wasnt implantation but on the up side at least my body is getting back to normal!
I'm so pleased for you well done! whoooo, what a nice way to start a weekend knowing you are preggers!!!!!

OP posts:
blondieminx · 15/05/2009 22:12

angelfifi could it possibly be implantation bleeding? Keep us posted. And fingers crossed that your AF actually goes on a looong holiday, for 9 months

Well I got a bit of a shock today. Still no sign of AF so mentioned this to the nurse when I went to have my regular 6 momthly thyroid blood test and she said let's do a test. We weren't planning to "try" till next month, this month we've just frolicked when the mood has taken us and erm.... well the test came up a faint BFP! It's very early days so we're not telling anyone yet. And I've been told to test again on Monday and check it's a nice strong line.

I really, really hope that this becomes a "lucky" thread for us all and that there are plenty more bfp's soon! Good luck everyone

Angelfifi · 14/05/2009 07:49

Thanks for that blondieminx i will take a look at that myself! I think af might have turned up today having some spotting happening this morning so some ways im pleased because my body is on track but other ways sad for not being preggers!!
Hope you know either way blondieminx soon if af commes or you get a bfp!!

Hi ladies... just a little catch up from me. My AF was due Monday but I took a hpt yesterday and it was BFN too, comiserations to you Angelfifi sounds like we are in quite a similar situation - this month is my 2nd cycle since my MC. Like you say maybe its just our systems settling down again but my first period afterwards was early. V confusing!

Jardins that makes perfect sense - and I have grapefruit juice in my fridge too! I also take a ton of supplements - pregnacare coneception, EPO etc. I guess it's all systems go for next month then eh! Sorry to hear about your cold and throat, that's rotten. I hope all in your household are back to full health soon!

Having said that a friend of mine has mentioned about the Sperm meets Egg plan and I may give it a try next month but adjust the dates for my longer cycle (usually dead on 35 days). Details are here if you'd like to read more - it's on a site for women who've suffered a MC and the idea is to give you and your partner the best chance of success without too much temperature taking/special foods/standing on your head

jardins · 13/05/2009 15:51

Hello Angelfifi, it's good to hear from you. I imagine your (slight) disappointment re: BFN. What the hell; it's early days yet, ey!

Although my son seems to be a lot better thanks to the antibiotics - and going back to school tomorrow for a two-day week I won't completely relax about his infection until he has had the routine check up X-ray on Monday 25th May. OF COURSE I ended up coming down with a nasty cold-sore-throat virus which started on Saturday. And now I think AF is on her sweet way as I spotted a little brown tinged mucus when I wiped earlier this afternoon. She's making an early appearance as today is CD 25. How sweet of her. I guess the virus blocked out all signs of PMT.

Anyway next cycle I'm getting into the grapefruit juice thing: I love all that shit anyway but will go for it in a heavy duty way to get more EWCM. I'm not going for the fertility predictor sticks, etc. I just want to do it naturally for the time being. Does that make sense to you?

Angelfifi · 13/05/2009 09:36

Hi Jardins Hows things with you? I was due af yesterday (tues) but no arrival as of yet! I have done a test but was a bfn but this is only my secound period after a mc so guessing my body is still trying to get in a routine!! Although i have ovulated or at least i think i did! I had all the ususal signs!! So i'm going to try and hold off the ov sticks/tests if i can!!
Hows things your end? have you started ttc with any result?

jardins · 12/05/2009 21:20

Calling Blondieminx and Anglefifi, how are you girls? Any news on the AF front? Please tell me to mind my own business if you should feel the urge.

blondieminx · 09/05/2009 23:53

Well one day down... I am driving myself half loony symptom spotting .

Hope you're all having god weekends.

jardins · 09/05/2009 16:32

You're right Blondieminx about keeping this thread going! Due Monday ey? It's gonna be an exciting two day wait for you!

By the way, has anyone spotted Thandeka anywhere? Please let me know as I'd really like to see how she's doing.

Milliemuffin · 08/05/2009 22:38

Hi ladies, I weighed myself today and i was 8st 4 in feb and now i'm 8 stone 8 which is alot of weight gain for me as i've always been between 8 stone and 8 stone 4 (apart from when pregnant with DS when i went to 10stone 8!) so hopefully thats also a good sign. i think i've convinced myself that i am 7 weeks and not 4 now that i've had time to think about it. the only thing is is the not feeling pregnant but i remember that from when i was pregnant with DS who's now 21months. i'm also still of the mind though that i don't wanna get too obsessed with it just incase something goes wrong again.

really hoping you all get the results you want soon, have a good weekend ladies xx

blondieminx · 08/05/2009 22:20

Oh Jardins it does sound like you've had a right time of it. As AngelFifi says, hope May is a lot calmer for you. Look after yourself.

I'm due on on Monday, we weren't trying this month but we did end up have a lovely frolic while I had EWCM in the middle of the month... and I now seem to have developed the same oversensitive sense of smell I had when pg last time. Am banning myself from testing till AF is actually due though...

Milliemuffin that's fab news and really encouraging to hear!

Good luck to all - and it would be good to get this thread going with a group of us, so do post and say hi if you've been lurking!

jardins · 08/05/2009 14:15

Thanks for your encouraging words Angelfifi. Do keep me posted about the arrival, or NOT, of AF. If I remember well I didn't have any symptoms prior to last pregnancy: just a feeling af was on its way. How have you been generally these past days/weeks? Are you on any other threads? I must get back on thread track here.

Angelfifi · 08/05/2009 13:27

Oh no jardins sounds like you are having a time of it at the moment, although this will probably be the time things will happen for you as your not thinking about it!!! We have been ttc but im due af on tues and i don't seem to have any symptoms so don't think its happened this time round. although its difficult to know if my periods will be back to normal after the mc, difficult to know, just have to wait and see.
Fingers crossed for you, hope next month is a calmer one for you!!!
Take care

Hello Angelfifi, I'm so sorry I've been out of reach for a while.... How are you? Dare I ask if you've been TTCing this month?

As my DH is far, far away at his new job we only got a chance to BD on, let me think, D8, D10, and D14. I have NO idea if and when I ovulated although I did see som EWCM at some point.... but it was between DH's visits back home.

To be honest this month has been somewhat of a rollercoaster: between my daughter's 13th birthday and her departure on a school trip to Italy (lucky her: I'd love to be at school again if just for that), my car breaking down in the middle of nowhere, an invasion of ants in my house, and now my DS has come down with an early form of pneumonia (sounds like something from a Dickens' novel but you can't believe how quickly a common cold can degenerate)I'm beginning to wonder if I'm jinxed! So the thought of concieving WELL that would be too lucky!!!

What about you? What's your news? Do tell!
