Hi everyone. I am starting up a new thread since our old one was reaching the 1000 post limit.

Here is a link to the old thread.

Clur I'm not taking clomid!!!! My mum did 20 years ago when she was trying to conceive my sister (read my first post).

DH and I are just living a healthy lifestyle and hoping that we don't need any intervention like clomid or such meds.

Thanks ladies for your responses.

lucygrif · 20/06/2009 12:30

hiya yes I think it is, although it is very rare for me to spot like this, normally AF comes with a bang

Clure · 20/06/2009 12:11

islegin thanks, I'm ok now. DH gave me a cuddle and we had a chat. I'm going for a run, thats my therapy.

lucygrif is that your af? its a b**ch isn't it? I've got period pains now which I very rarely get (mind you I very rarely get periods!!) hope you ok

takelovingchances welcome to the thread. I'm no expert but i don't think fertility problems are hereditary, there are many factors which affect fertility. The fact that you and your DH are taking a healthy approach to lifestyle and you're taking clomid means you have a good a chance as any! lots of luck to you

off for a run then a swim in the lake (triathlon training - mad woman)

stac14 · 20/06/2009 12:09

Hey takelovingcanches Welcome to the thread, I dont think it mecessarily does go down family lines but in my case my mum took 5 years to have my sis, although not assisted but I have pcos and have wondered if maybe my mum did too. But I dont think they will test you for that reason, you would have to be trying for a yea before they test you unless any you have any probs x

Hey josie welcome to the thread hun, how are you finding the clomid? x

clure so sorry to here of double whammy, at least you know you ov'd this month as af came on its own so you know you still have hope, keep up the bding, have they checked hubbys sperm?

How is everyone else?

TakeLovingChances · 20/06/2009 11:09

Hi, sorry to disturb this post with my lack of knowledge of clomid, but I have a Q that I'm sure you ladies can help me with.

DH and I ttc1, we're on 3rd cycle and so far we're hopeful.

I was talking to my mum yesterday who told me that she got pregnant with me in 1st cycle, but then it took her 6 years to conceive my sister (mum was only 29 when my sister was born). During those 6 years she went for many tests and ended up on clomid. Finally she got preg and went on a few years later to have my brother.

My Q is: do probs with fertility go down family lines? Just cuz my mum struggled, does that mean that I likely will? There are many health and lifestyle factors where we differ, so I'm hoping that myself and DH will be okay.

Any advice would be great!

lucygrif · 20/06/2009 09:41

started spotting yesterday, no af yet though I bet I am in agony tomorrow!!

islegrin · 20/06/2009 09:23

Clure - so sorry about the double whammy! That's sh*t, first the test results/consult, now AF... while I'm happy for no provera or 100 day cycle... it's not the same as a bfp! Smile at least twice today, then you have permission to fume and fuss the rest of the day (but be nice to DH - you have to live with him even after this)

Clure · 20/06/2009 08:37

Thanks kiwi.
Can't believe this, AF turned up this morning. Day 27, its never been that early! Oh well begin 100mg clomid tomorrow and at least i don't have to mess about with provera!

KiwiKat · 19/06/2009 22:41

Oh Clure, so sorry to hear that.

Clure · 19/06/2009 17:15

hello,

Welcome josie, hopefully you'll conceive again on clomid. I'm TTC number 2, was successful last time round, managed to conceive DD now 4 on clomid first cycle.

clairbear good girl, go for it and have a smashing anniverasary weekend

pinky and lucy sorry for your BFN. I'm still CD 26 and on the verge of testing

Well ladies, I received a letter from my consultant who was informing that the result of my last hormone blood tests (LH and FSH) are still on the high side and he said this could be a strong possiblity of premature menopause and that my ovaries may not have many more eggs. he said this will "Obviously make your chances of conciveing naturally reduced however it does not meant that you cannot become pregnant at all" He's suggested continuing with clomid but to increase dose to 100mg. I've also now got to have a repeat LH, FSH blood test and also he wants to test levels of progesterone and oestrogen.
Phew - sorry ladies this is a long one. This is a bit of a blow. I'm now doubly hoping for a bfp as I feel my time is really running out. I have an appointment early august with consultant. Tis a long time to wait as if I get a negative test, I've then more than likely got to take provera to get a period and that will then take a longer time, then clomid again - its never ending

Moan over, thanks for listening xx

KiwiKat · 19/06/2009 13:47

Sorry to hear that a few of you have the witch blues - that's a horrible feeling.

Clairebear, glad to hear that you're going for it. We're trying tonight, too. Good luck - and happy anniversary! Hope you have a lovely weekend.

lucygrif · 19/06/2009 13:46

(sigh) alas, no more clomid for me

clairebear88 · 19/06/2009 13:39

Hi

Thanks for the info Clure I may get a tube to try.

welcome Josie - Hopefully the clomid will work like last time at least you will get lots of advice on here and virtual support.

Pinky and Lucy sorry about your BFN but try to not let it get you down and plod along to the next round of clomid once AF arrives.
It will happen for us but may just take a little longer x

I had my mid cycle scan today and had 4 follicles ( 12, 16, 18 and 22.5 )God knows what happened this month as I normally only get 1 or 2. Anyway the FC said it was up to us if we wnated to try this month as big chance of multiple birth. I said we had been trying for so long that the chances are low of me falling so im gonna go ahead anyway. I have said on here before that if we werent all being monitored we would never no how many follicles we had so would be trying anyway.
If its meant to be it will be. Plus its my wedding anniversary on Mon so we are out for a nice meal and busy weekend is planned

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend
cx

pinkypanther · 19/06/2009 09:43

Sorry to hear that Lucy, it really sucks doesn't it?

In some ways though, I am quite looking forward to my AF arriving, because at least then I can start another round of Clomid rather than get stuck in the stupid endless waiting game which my cycles usually are!

Has anyone got any good news to cheer us up today?

lucygrif · 19/06/2009 09:29

pinky I am feeling exactly the same hun, I too got a BFN at 6pm yesterday, CD32 today so will test again on Sunday morning unless the witch turns up. Getting fed up of her now, wish she'd just f**k off

pinkypanther · 19/06/2009 09:06

Hi Josie, welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear you didn't ov yet. Hopefully in the next week...

I tested this morning and it was a BFN. I knew it would be but am still feeling quite sad and like it's never going to happen for us.

Josie123 · 18/06/2009 22:15

Hi Ladies
Can I join you please?
I have PCOS and am TTC #2 at the minute. I came off the pill in Feb and started Metformin straight away. After 112 days I had AF then started Clomid. I am now on CD22. I had a scan yesterday which was planned from my last consultant appt and I didn't expect to be on CD21 when I had it. It was a bit disappointing as it showed no collapsed corpus luteum so I haven't ovulated and lots of small follicles but no dominant follicle

I conceived my son 5 years ago on Met and Clomid and think I ovulated late on the successful cycle so I have my fingers crossed I am going to ovulate in the next few weeks!

Am going to read up on all of you now!

Clure · 18/06/2009 22:03

hi all,

preseed - you get it in a tube and you also get some plastic kind of like "injection" type tubes that you load with the preseed and pop it inside you. Its a lubricant that is sperm friendly hth

xx

pinkypanther · 18/06/2009 18:17

Hello all. Congratulations Sarashy, hope this one sticks for you.

Amelie - you're doing so well with the weight loss.

If anyone is prepared to explain what you do with the preseed, then I might order myself some too .

As far as I'm concerned, I'm now sure that I'm not pregnant and that AF is coming along soon, but will test tomorrow anyway so can drink with a totally clear conscience this weekend (also - may as well use one of the 40 or so tests I've got in the house!)

Baby dust to you all.

clairebear88 · 18/06/2009 14:25

Hiya

Sarashy - That is fab news im so happy for you. Its nice to hear an IUI success story as I think thats where Ill end up in a couple of months after clomid finishes. whats your story concerning ttc?
What county do you live? was the IUI free and how many tries do you get?
Sorry loads of questions

amelie - wow thats great about your weight loss keep it up. Sorry AF got you but you sound like your on the right track.

Im gonna get me some presseed. x

lucygrif · 18/06/2009 10:34

congrats sarashy!! how did you find the IUI? and how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?? DP and I are considering this as our next step in the coming months as we (I) don't fancy all the needles etc and we don't have the money for IVF.
Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly do you do with the Preseed?? Might try it next month if the witch turns up.

islegrin · 18/06/2009 08:48

Paddy - I sure hope not! Best of luck, either way you'll know more info with which to ttc!!!

CD 19 - I was trying to forget about it!!! but I did buy a HPT today for next Wednesday (or as close to that as I can get.)

fruitbowl · 17/06/2009 23:18

Hi girls!

Congrats Sarahshy! Brilliant news - sticky vibes.

Kiwi - yeah - go for it. 2 eggs seems like a good number. My consultant recommended I have 2 as I'm over 40. Get to bed!

Me BIG preseed fan too! It's a necessity round these parts! It's one of the few lubricants that is "sperm friendly" (I think it waves to the little fellas and offers to buy them a pint)

No news from me except AF turned up as I was hoping this month because I had a very rare opportunity to go partying and think it did me the world of good to go out and get wrecked! makes a change from the years of trying to be mother teresa!
