Getting pregnant aged 37

Hello,
I have a 14 month old dd who was conceived within a couple of months of trying when i was 35. I turned 37 last month and am suddenly desperate for another baby. I am really worried about my age. Does the fact that i got preg so easily two years ago count in my favour or will my fertilty have gone into freefall regardless? I can't really find any info on success rate of second pregnancies at my age. My maternal grandmother and great grandmother both had children in their late 30s - i don't know if this goes in my favour or not. My periods are regular and i am pretty sure i am ovulating. due to breast-feeding until my tot was 12 months i've only had 3 proper periods since the birth.
I would love to hear from anyone who conceived in their late 30s and how easy or not this was.

We conceived DD without trying aged 34. Three years later, we conceived again aged 37. I'm now 33 weeks pregnant and giving birth shortly after my 38th birthday.

Keep your spirits up. I'm sure you will be fine.

Hi Jan9ne,

I'm in a slightly different position to you as I am 32 weeks PG with our first child at the age of 34. We also fell pregnant straight away (amazingly), but what I was going to say, is that if you search online, you can order a Female Fertility Test. It's another "Pee on a stick" test and it basically measures your level of fertility. I think they're fairly cheap.

If you don't get any line, your fertile level is still high. Mine didn't produce any line, which I was pleased about, but still amazed and thrilled that we fell PG so quickly.

It may not be as specific as doctors tests, but it may give you an idea...

Hope that helps.

Just search on Female Fertility Test and see what comes up...

Good luck!!
