Jools - i have had a 5 week mc, in feb. there was heavy loss and much cramping. great news on scan though!

Molliemooma · 23/04/2009 13:03

Jools I am so sorry to hear what you are going through at the moment, I have everything crossed for you that its just a little hiccup and all will be well. Be strong

Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 13:02

Just back from GP, who did an internal exam but couldn't see anything untoward. Given the relatively small amount of blood loss, she thinks there is still hope. I did up to recently as was still feeling nauseous, but my boobs appear to be deflating now ... The abdominal aching is now quite uncomfortable - like a nasty AF. I don't know how much blood and clotting you would see at under 6 weeks ?

Have got a scan - for what its worth - at 10.10 tomorrw. Not sure they'll see anything conclusive anyway.

Lovely GP did put my July CP onto the computer today, so that I can go back to her and get referred to the recurrent MC clinic if this MC is confirmed.

All the hand holding and foot rubs is helping loads ladies. Think I'm going to disappear into the garden with a good book and an M&S blueberry muffin now

ScorpiowithabigS · 23/04/2009 12:30

Jools i am very sorry to hear of your bleeding. When i had my mc it started with bleeding, i have enver had the limbo land as my symtoms had already gone. Love to you xxx

I got my scan, very easily. Will be sent a letter very soon.

mermaidspurse · 23/04/2009 12:22

jools just take it real easy today, sorry that I had not popped on before now, got caught up in an accident on the way home this morning and had to be a witness etc. Was about to have a calming cup of tea untill I began to catch up on here.

epus without open door policies are hard to get into, I've never got in there same day but usually the next with a gps referal which sounds like they will do for you this afternoon. Holding onto your well toned and very brave bicep.xx

bakingqueen · 23/04/2009 11:59

Hello everyone just taken 30 mins to catch up with last two days- rate this thread is going it will be full soon.

Jools- so sorry to hear about the bleeding really hoping you manage to get a scan. One of my best friends had a really big bleed at 6 weeks thought she had mc'd and it was all ok now has a lovely 3 year old son. I had a 5 week scan and you can see the sac on it. Just sending out lots of sticky thoughts to your bean and you all my love. Keeping my fingers, toes and anything else I can cross that things work out for you

4ever- hope the acupuncture goes well for you today. Know what you mean about pg smokers There seemed to be a pregnancy epidemic at work when I was pregnant, so unfair as I was the only one to mc and practically the only non smoker, non drinker and they are all still pregnant and drinking and smoking. Sorry if I sounded like a evil person then but sometimes get envious

Scorpio- congratulations to you so happy for you hope you get your scan to put your mind at ease

Blue and Annie - hope you manage to get scans too. Its so unfair having to fight for a scan it should be easier for people who have mc'd in the past. Its a shame this group could not be in control of a scanning centre think we would all be a lot more sympathetic and would be a lot more generous in scanning people!

Vjay- good luck for your scan are you going to find out what you are going to have or are you going to let it be a surprise

Neeko- how is the 2ww going? When can you test? How is the symptoms spotting going.?

mls- sorry af got you hope your feeling better x

barbie- hope your enjoying the sun, seems to have dissaperaed here switched the heating back on! Hope your friend has a good time poor her can't imagine what she is going through

Kate-any sign of af yet? Hope it comes in the next few days for you then you will only have your wedding to think about. Honeymoon location sounds lovely sure you will have a good time.

Gracie- hope your well and work not too busy for you

Sabs- good luck with going back to work tomorrow remember we will all be there with you on mn!

Big hugs to mermaid, doozer and mollie and anyone else I have forgotten. Now I have handed my dissertation in better get on and right some more off duty for work. Probably will get distracted however and lurk back on here need to do my profile on here so you can find out a bit more about me if you want to. Won't be able to put on a picture sorry as my IT skills not that good you can only access mypicture via facebook and can only do that as blackberry gives that option for every photo I take on it.

Love and hugs to you all xx

4everhopeful · 23/04/2009 11:31

Just lurking to see how your doing Jools? As Blue says about Lesley Regan having a bleed (her show is on bbc2 at 9pm tonight - not MC related tho!). My best mate had terrible very heavy bleeds with her dd & was admitted a few times, turns out she had a low lying placenta but all was well in the end...

bluesatinsash · 23/04/2009 11:15

Fingers crossed you get a scan tomorrow Jools, that doc should be given a pat on the back.

I had periody like achey tummy for first few weeks of pg with DS and kept thinking AF was going to start any minute. As $ever says its all the stretching that's going on.

I was re-reading Lesley Reagan last night and she had big bleed with pg with her twins. She commented that she never fails to be amazed when she sees women who have bled and soaked through and scan shows healthy bean unperturbed by it all.

MummyLovesSadie · 23/04/2009 10:22

Neeko how are you feeling today? Still up & down? Have you had any more non-symptoms?

For some reason my right boob really hurts, & the pain woke me up in the night. It feels almost like the mastitis I had when I was breastfeeding.

MummyLovesSadie · 23/04/2009 09:55

Jools you have no more hands left so I'm squeezing your foot instead (& giving you a virtual calming foot massage while I'm at it).

Sending lots of positive sticky thoughts your way, as everyone has said before there are loads of woman who have bled & it has turned out fine. It is difficult to stay positive though isn't it when all you can do is fear the worst.

I had bleeding at 5 & 6 weeks & didn't have any pain.

Hoping your little bean can feel all the positive energy being sent from not only all corners of the UK but from Dubai too. x

4everhopeful · 23/04/2009 09:51

Oh yea & bloated and achey can still be healthy stretchy ligament symptoms sweetie... xx

4everhopeful · 23/04/2009 09:49

Really glad your GP is trying to sort that scan hon.. Just wondered where you were cos my hospital, St Georges (in Tooting, south london) does a walk in clinic at EPU every day where you can get a scan.. Fingers crossed you get one tomorrow.. I am sending the stickiest hopeful & positive thoughts to you hon.. Squeeze all our hands as tight as you want OK!? xxxxxxxxx

GracieGirl · 23/04/2009 09:36

Jools if you have a spare hand I'm around all day to hold it. That good of your GP to try and bend the rules to get you a scan. Its such a shame we are so far way from each other in RL else you'd have a house full of Mumnetters by now getting in your way trying to help.

Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 09:34

For those of you that had bleeding early on - did you ever have any mild pain or discomfort with it ? My abdomen feels bloated and achey - as if AF was starting ....

Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 09:26

I don't know what I'd do without you lot

A lovely GP I've never heard of before has called me back and is "juggling" my LMP dates to see if she can get me a scan for tomorrow (they won't accept referrals under 6 weeks and I did start bleeding at 10pm the night before my official LMP date) She wants me in to see her at midday just to check things out and rule out ectopic (which I'm sure it is not)

Fingers still crossed - boobs haven't deflated and I still feel mildly nauseous and the bleeding isn't very heavy .... I've read lots of positive stories about bleeding and things being OK, so am trying to tell myself there is still a glimmer of hope ..

4Ever - I'm in St Albans, Herts

bluesatinsash · 23/04/2009 09:08

Jools I'm squeezing away too and praying. Keep trying the docs, are you sure you don't want your DP home with you?

As I said yesterday I had period type bleed when I was 5+3 with DS and was convinced it was over.

4everhopeful · 23/04/2009 08:59

I just checked your profile page - where are you based hon?

4everhopeful · 23/04/2009 08:58

Oh Jools honey Im holding your spare hand, if GP wont see you I'd be tempted to do A&E just to know? Im hoping & praying it will be ok for you sweetheart. Alot of women bleed in early PG, I had early brownish gunky spotting & was fine for several weeks after, it was a chromosome issue that caused that loss, nothing to do with spotting. A colleagues wife also had spotting/bleeding for several weeks early on, & my ex manager didnt know she was PG cos she bled every month & thought it was AF til she was nearly 16 weeks! It can happen so dont lose hope yet...

Personally Id get straight to a&e cos your gp wont be able to scan & thats the only way to get peace of mind... Sending sticky hopeful & positive thoughts to you xxxxxxxxxx

Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 08:38

Well, got a GP calling me back. Phone calls start at 9am and I'm number 3 on the list..

VJaybigpants · 23/04/2009 08:29

jools thinking of you, but it's not over yet....by 7 weeks I had almost given up hope of this pg, but now look, so don't give up just yet. Off to work in a mo, but will be thinking of you today

Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 08:19

You can come and mop my floors too Barbie !!

No more blood last time I looked

barbie1 · 23/04/2009 08:09

I can see your reasoning jools but please dont give up hope with the gp, i hate the appointment system, you call at 8.30 on the dot and then they are engaged til about 9 and when you finally get through all the appointments are already gone!
Stay strong and you never know you might just be one of the ones that experience blood loss during early pregnancy,
Im mopping the floor with one hand so you can squeeze the other........

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 08:02

I'm still here Barbie - was going through my GP's automated system to try and get a GP appt for today but there aren't any, despite the fact that they say they release appointments every morning - grrr

the surgery opens at 8.30 and I shall call through and ask for a callback from MY GP. The blood loss is not massive and I'm not in any pain, so I really can't see any reason for going to A&E this time. Will wait and see what the GP says

I've never had an early MC, but am guessing that this would be just like a heavy AF anyway at under 6 weeks. I feel remarkably chilled about it all this morning - wouldn't even let DP stay home from work. I think I did all my worrying and coming to terms with it yesterday. I am just relieved it is happening now and not next week when we are on hols and not at nearly 12 weeks like last time when I thought I was safe ....

barbie1 · 23/04/2009 07:55

jools im getting worried about you now, i hope you are either keeping yourself busy or off getting yourself seen too, im cleaning the villa through so will be back to check soon.....

OP posts:
barbie1 · 23/04/2009 07:31

jools please get yourself down to a&e...i really wish i could help you more
I hope you are not working today? im here .... if you need me to do any research or hold your hand and generally just listen im here babe ok?
