Morning lovely ladies.

Jools ive been thinking about you all last night and infact this morning and hope you are as well as can be expected. Have a lovely holiday with DP.

Neeko-What a lovely poem. It made me well up reading it, your Gran sounds like she was a lovely wise woman.

Cupoftea-Sorry about your loss, life is so cruel sometimes. As regards to TTC i would do as mermaid says, when you feel physically and more importantly, emotionally ready. I had a mmc at 12 weeks and it took bout 14 or so days till i got a negative hpt. I waited until id had AF to make sure everything was 'working' properly before we TTC.

Scorpio-You have got to try and think positively, negative thoughts are going to stress you. You will have your scan before you know it.

Gracie-Have lovely holiday, hopefully the weather will be fab for you. Symptoms sound promising mind!.

Love to everyone else. Its a beautiful Summers day here, sunny and warm, going out for the day shortly.

ScorpiowithabigS · 25/04/2009 09:55

Hi cupoftea - when i had my mc in Feb i jus tttc again straight away - i have had one period since my mc, which i kind of think let my body heal up and get back into the swing of things

ScorpiowithabigS · 25/04/2009 09:54

Hi everyone, well i didnt get sick, think i am in the clear for that....however i am so paranoid, i just cant believe there is a baby in there, doing it 'correctly', even though last time was so obviously just a bad egg, not a baby iyswim. What can i do, how can i relaxx?

My breasts arent very sore but i am so tired, and slightly nauseous, though i am one ofthose annoying women who just sails through pg anyway and get few things wrong in the beginning. I wish i had more to go on; but i don't; all my childrens pgs were like this one too - no 'real' things to go on!

I'm so sorry to keep going on about it; just DH doesnt really know what to say or do, and goodness knows when my scan is. Feelsl ike i am waiting for something to go wrong

mermaidspurse · 25/04/2009 09:47

Hi cupoftea sorry for your very recent loss
I would let your body and head recover tbh. You want to be in tip top condition to keep a little sticky bean, so rest relax drink wine or tea and let an af come and go.

cupofteaplease · 25/04/2009 09:41

Hello- I am tentatively popping my head around the door of this thread, as I hope to join you all soon I had a MC yesterday after being diagnosed with a slow MMC on Wednesday.

When will it be safe to TTC again? We'd rather not wait for my next AF if possible. Should we wait until a HPK shows up -ive? How long after MC does this take?

Sorry to come in with so many questions but I assume you ladies are the experts!

mermaidspurse · 25/04/2009 09:29

we dont have internet cafes here me ansome

Neeko · 25/04/2009 08:30

Morning MLS It's 2 weeks today since my +ive on opk so really think I'm not. I was reading up on conception immediately after MC last night and basically said until AF arrives your body will play lots of tricks on you so not to trust +ives or mucus or anything. I'll test again next wk if AF still hasn't arrived but after that I think I might call the docs to see if they have any advice.
How was the spa day?

Neeko · 25/04/2009 08:27

Haven't you left yet? Funny how we keep meeting on the other thread but only "talk" on this one. Feel I have to be supportive at all times on that one but can be silly here.

MummyLovesSadie · 25/04/2009 08:27

Neeko loved the poem, your gran sounds like she was a wise old sage. So you had a bfn as well..... we did test very early though doncha think?

GG your non-symptoms sound very exciting. You must find an internet cafe to keep us up-to-date! At least you wont be able to do any tests, unless you go to the local Boots & buy an hideously expensive one, that is!

Jools thinking of you still. Where are you going to next week btw?

Well I'm on day 25 now so only a few more days to wait. Not going to test until Tuesday but then of course af will have probably arrived.

GracieGirl · 25/04/2009 08:15

Me??? lurking????

Neeko · 25/04/2009 08:11

Jools It sounds like a plan. You're a brave lady. Thinking of you.

Thanks Monkey she was the best and I miss her madly. We're having a family meal tomorrow. She'd approve of that as she loved her grub! Good luck to you for testing next week.

Gracie Stop lurking and pack!

monkeybumsmum · 25/04/2009 08:04

Neeko That poem is fab It brought tears to my eyes because it just sums everything up. Your Gran sounds like she was an inspirational lady. Are you going to do anything special today?

Gracie Looks like you and I are in sync. Am on day 22 today as well. Have a great holiday, it'll be good to keep busy to take your mind off possible symptoms...

Jools I woke up this morning thinking about you and just how unfair life can be. I hope you're doing okay this morning, well as okay as you can be given what's happened. Lots of love to you x

Back later

Joolsiam · 25/04/2009 08:02

Thanks everyone for looking after me - I'm sure I felt the good vibes through the ether and thanks so much Daisy and Laura for popping in when you have so much to think of yourselves at the moment. I've still been looking in on May and June threads and getting excited for everyone I started that journey with. That spilled over into tears last night when reading about the first "May" births last night - delighted for people but sad about what might have been ..

The hormonal crash is kicking in - hopefully won't last too long and I am prepared for it this time. Off to the gym in a minute cos I have been awake since 4.30 and am climbing the walls and I'm hoping it might help lift my mood and shake things loose so I can finish bleeding before I go away.

I am hoping an egg may appear whilst we are away, so I can crack another and check if that one is still in date

Neeko · 25/04/2009 07:57

Good idea not to take the tests with you as they will still work when you come back. Have my fingers crossed for you. It's sounding promising. Have a nice trip and try to forget all about it (but maybe limit your wine intake? )

GracieGirl · 25/04/2009 07:51

Good poem Neeko. See I'm even on mumsnet now when I should be running round doing last minute packing.

As Neeko started it I'm going to add that my "hormonal intestine" has got loads worse. My sense of smell is stupidly strong, and I got up to go to the loo in the night and went dizzy and had to lie down cos I got up too quick. This is exactly how I felt back in December. Symptoms started then just before 3 weeks pregnant, and it took one of my friends to point out that I kept clearing out the fridge at work of perfectly good food that hadn't gone off. I'm on day 22 now. DH popped back for a quick visit last night and even he gave me a look after the abdo cramps and the dizziness. Trying REALLY REALLY hard not to think about it, I don't want to know!!!!! Its far too early, too much can go wrong at this early stage. Not taking any pregnancy tests to Cornwall with me. My head is staying firmly in the sand!

Neeko · 25/04/2009 07:37

Morning all. Hope everyone has a better day today.
Just popping in to add my (expected) BFN to the pile created yesterday . have purposefully put all pee-sticks to the back of cupboard until after AF (whenever that may be) and thought I'd write down my reasons to be positive.

  1. EDD would have been on FIL's b'day and no one likes to share.
  2. EDD would have been straight after New Year so would have broken my resolution of dieting every year by eating cake.
  3. Having BFP without having AF after MC would have made me worry more at an early scan due to inability to know if baby was right size for date.
  4. TTC with you lot is so much fun that I want to joing the mucus obsession, OPKs and 2ww for at least another month!
It's a year today since my very wise and beloved gran died and thought I'd share her favourite poem with you all as I think it fits in with us:

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Love you all.

GracieGirl · 25/04/2009 07:33

Morning.

Mermaid you are right, Jool's bean may not have been around long but was loved by people all over the world. I even rang Kate to let her know. Jools its good to hear you are going away with your DP and getting to spend time together.

I'm going to Cornwall in 2 hours, back friday night. Going with my brother and his girlfriend. DH unfortunately now has to work so can't join us, but I'm going anyway. I'm sure I'll spend half of my time away looking for internet cafes to check in with you lot, or ringing Kate and getting her to read me the thread!

daisy5 · 24/04/2009 23:43

I'm worried now that my post sounds heartless. I certainly didn't mean to. Big hugs to you jools honey - you must have had a wretched day.

daisy5 · 24/04/2009 23:37

Hello again jools. A girl on our thread mentioned you had mc'd and I wanted to come over to tell you how sorry I am to hear that. There seem to be so many people keeping in touch with your progress, so you have a lot of people holding your hand and sending you good thoughts.

Before my 12week miscarriage (that you know about), I had a positive test, that a week later became a heavy period. It was very confusing and I wasn't sure what to make of it. I felt the loss of the little life that wasn't to be, but like you say, was glad it was earlier rather than later for many reasons.

The Mumsnet ladies were fab but one thing I kept remembering - someone who had two children in her forties wrote - 'my eggs were past their Best Before Date, so I had to crack a few shells to find a good one'. I wasn't sure how long I could keep it up but I did know there were good ones there.

You seem to be very fertile so here's hoping the next little egg and sperm are a super combination. I hope you get some relaxation on your holiday. You truly deserve the break. Best wishes for you jools.

mermaidspurse · 24/04/2009 23:06

hope everyone is ok, feel like I am going round tucking everyone in for the evening! What a shit, grey, sad day and on the flip side of that my oh my what an amazing thread this is. To think that all over the place women have been going about doing everyday stuff while thinking of jools and her family and it does help in that dark place of mc.
hi laura honey. I am sure if we all wish it enough it will work itself out - trying to remember some of neekos nans sayings now what was it about weeing and crying at the same time? too much wine, stumbling off to bed. xx

lauraloo09 · 24/04/2009 21:49

hiya sorry for loitering again on your thread, been trying to keep up with how jools has been doing and I am heartbroken that this has happened to you again, I pray that you and your DP are ok and pray that one day you will have the baby you deserve x

Neeko · 24/04/2009 21:42

Jools I know you're unlikely to be on here again tonight but wanted you to know that you've been in my thoughts all day and I really hope you're bearing up. Take care.

littlebellsmum · 24/04/2009 21:11

Jools - so sorry to hear your news. I've been following you all week and really wanted some good news for you. So sorry - the only silver lining I can see is the lovely GP you found. Hopefully she'll send you for testing now? Take care, eat chocolate ( lots of it)

LionstarBigPants · 24/04/2009 20:03

Jools I'm weeping into my apple juice now. So sorry for what you are going through - but you sound like one brave lady. Your time will come.
