HD has a bad case of the mumsnettitis! Great to hear you're fine!! ME too - on here now as an official ttcer!!! Great stuff!! lovely day today - so sunny and warm!

hewlettsdaughter · 13/06/2003 12:46

I'm fine too quackers, thanks for asking. Seem to be posting on this thread more than the m/c one now which maybe reflects my state of mind

Hi moosh, not sure if I can answer your question, but welcome anyway. I have been reading/posting on mumsnet for 2-3 weeks and am getting addicted - beware!

LucieB · 13/06/2003 11:25

For what its worth - I had the 'o' sign on my persona on days 18 and 19 of my cycle which has been 28/29 days for the past few months....
Best of luck everyone. I am going to stay on this thread for a while so keep posting with your progress....

quackers · 13/06/2003 11:22

Hi HD!!! How's my persona pal? Doin great thanks. Period due in a week and then that's it we'll be going hell for leather I think!! Can't wait. I feel so much better though after m/c. It's unbelievable the difference a couple of months makes to settle doen and get back to normal a bit. I feel like my old chirpy self again. How are u diddling chuck???
Hi Moosh!! WARM WELCOME. Another Persona user.
Well from what I've learned ( and this has only been since loosing one) that the best time is days 10-16 if you have a regular 28 dayish cycle. I got pg both times on day 11 as the sperm was waiting there for the egg on 14. However everyone is different and Persona is great because it will show the O symbol when u are about to ovulate (24-26 hours later) and the 2 blue lines appear too. This really increases your chances! I was told if you are both healthy you ahve a 50% chance of conceiving if you do it on the right day so 2-3 months in theory you should crack it - but it's not always that easy is it!!!! Good luck and keep in touch with us on here! Look at lucie B the bugger just got pg!!! She's a luv - another Persona user! Sorry rambling now - it's that Friday feeling!!!

moosh · 13/06/2003 10:52

Yes, like many of you I am trying too. I am new to mumsnet was told by my big sis to join as it is a good advice network. I have 3.5yr d.s and desperately want another have been trying for bout 6 months off and on and have bought persona now to see if this will help. My d.s was a beautiful accident so I am a little confused with dates e.t.c. when trying for a baby. Must the sperm be present in the body before you ovulate, after you ovulate or it doesn't matter it can be both? A woman of my age 30's should know this considering I'm studying anatomy and physiology but I am really confused. Help!

LucieB · 13/06/2003 10:36

Have told DH - he suspected anyway, but was a bit disapproving of me buying 2 twin packs of Pg tests and using them straight away!!! I am still being cautious as I know its very very early days yet. But can't help feeling a little excited too as we have been trying really hard over the past 6/7 months!!!
Best of luck to the rest of you. Can heartily recommend persona, by the way. Hope some of you will be joining me on a Feb 2004 babies thread before too long.

hewlettsdaughter · 13/06/2003 10:22

Hi quackers! How are you doing?

hewlettsdaughter · 13/06/2003 10:20

I take my hat off to you, LucieB. Congratulations!

BigBird - know what you mean about it turning into a chore... let us know how you get on if you try the ovulation sticks.

quackers · 13/06/2003 10:14

Amazing - I am am really chuffed for you and of course really jealous!!! You deserve it well done. Every day is amazing I don't know how you kept it up!! I have to say my DH said yesterday he would do it twice a day if necessary but I don't think I could keep up!!
So you'll be leaving this thread to join babies due in the new year! Please come back and visit and give us some words of inspiration!
Have you told your DH?

LucieB · 13/06/2003 09:45

Have done 2 more tests - same result - faint line so pretty certain, I guess. Just need to get through the next 7/8 weeks now. Thanks for all your good wishes. We were doing it every day, quackers!!!

dino55 · 12/06/2003 21:22

Im so pleased for you, many congratulations,it dosn't matter how faint the line is, it still means a positive result.WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

sibble · 12/06/2003 19:50

Congrats LucieB am really pleased for you

jodee · 12/06/2003 19:35

Great news, LucieB!!!!!

bunny2 · 12/06/2003 18:40

LucieB, fantastic news. I am so happy for you (and a wee bit envious of course). Can only echo, any line is a positive. I had one you could harldy see unless you held iy up to the light but I was pregnant. Congratulations.

quackers · 12/06/2003 18:34

OH MY GOD LUCYB!!!! I am absolutely speechless!!!! I felt it today - honestly when u said u were day 30/31!! Any line is a line and a positive result and yes I believe boots are the most reponsive!!!!!! The line will darken over a few days as you probably did it the day you are due didn't u?????
Well that's the end of sex every other day!!!!!
I totally thrilled for you - did u do another test???

elliott · 12/06/2003 16:21

I don't think you'll better the boots tests...

elliott · 12/06/2003 16:19

Lucie, I don't think the strength of the line has much to do with how much wee you manage, its more to do with the level of pregnancy hormone in the urine - as long the stick gets wet enough to get all the way to the control line, it is fine. You should find that the line will gradually get darker over the next few days - and that you might get a stronger one first thing in the morning. Don't doubt it though

LucieB · 12/06/2003 16:16

Hmm, just did second test, splashed the window and still only a very faint line. Which tests are the most sensitive - might have to pop out and get some more!

BigBird · 12/06/2003 16:11
LucieB · 12/06/2003 15:15

Could wait no longer...have just done a Boots test and have a faint blue line in the relevant window. Will be repeating in about an hour when my bladder is fuller as didn't manage the full 5 seconds with the first test. Still no pg symptoms though...

dino55 · 12/06/2003 13:44

Really hoping and praying for you LucieB and everyone else....The waiting game is sooooooo hard.

LucieB · 12/06/2003 13:30

No signs at all...

quackers · 12/06/2003 13:21

LucieB - can't believe you're on day 30/31! I know you're irregular but any signs or anything yet?

LucieB · 12/06/2003 13:16

Its exhausting!!! But it hasn't worked yet...

BigBird · 12/06/2003 12:51

thanks and good luck LucieB.
Well I don't feel so bad now - EVERY DAY for the month??!!! How do you keep it up!!
