Many congrats Loobie - shows you have to be persistent with those pg tests!!! There aren't many of us left now....get that Jan/Feb 2004 babies thread up and running and hopefully some of us will be joining you on it before too long.
Congrats again!

Ghosty · 30/05/2003 03:06

loobie732 · 29/05/2003 18:30

Dot - Elliot is right. You need to make things a bit easier for yourself maximise the chances of conception. Best of luck anyway. I am mid-cycle at the moment and am also obsessing on dates - thought I had ovulated over the weekend but now think maybe not so have had to do lots of bd over the past week or so - ie every night!

dot1, I feel for you - it must be incredibly frustrating not being able to plan your life, or missing cycles when you do!
I think it would be really worthwhile trying to get your donor's sperm frozen since it should increase your chances of being able to inseminate on the right days, and be logistically more convenient (FWIW I also think that in your case it would be worth considering paying for some monitored cycles where you can be scanned to pinpoint exactly when you are ovulating). Anyway best of luck whatever you decide.

dino55 · 29/05/2003 16:00

Hi Loobie, have you got that test yet? Cant wait to find out, My fingers are crossed for you. Hope all goes well.

dot1 · 29/05/2003 14:35

Flipping heck. Just started my period much later than I thought. I had a really strong ovulation line on day 8, but my cycle's been 31 days (thought it would be much shorter). So difficult to plan when it's all going to happen next month... Day 8 this month may be do-able in terms of insemination, but any later and we're on holiday (through to day 14).

Ho hum. Ignore me - I'm obsessing about days again!

elliott · 29/05/2003 12:57

The advice is generally every other day. Since your cycles tend towards the shorter, I would err towards starting earlier in the cycle. Good luck!!

BigBird · 29/05/2003 12:44

Hi - i'm on my 4th month ttc for number 2 and I know its not long but it only took 2 months last time . Anyhow - just planning this month and wondering is the advice generally to have sex every 2 days from say day 6 till day 18, or every day from say day 10 till 15......???
My cycle was irregular but has stabilised - the last few months were 25, 25, 26, 29, 28.
If it doesn't happen this months I'll start temping ....
Any advice appreciated.

LucieB · 29/05/2003 12:09

I second M2T - the test window should work. Go and get another test and let us know

M2T · 29/05/2003 11:37

Loobie - looks like the test definitely didn't work. Go now!!! Get another one.

loobie732 · 29/05/2003 11:36

No the test window didnt work either. I thought that i had done something wrong but apparently not, as i have gone through the instructions several times before. I think that i am PG but i am going to get the boots test and hopefully find out that for sure that i am. Early days though. Thanks for your advice.

LucieB · 29/05/2003 10:02

Strange not to have any lines at all - did the test window not work either? If not, that was probably a defective test. Yes, the Boots tests are supposed to be good so I would get one today and see how you go. Let us know - getting excited for you now!!!

loobie732 · 29/05/2003 09:49

Took a pg test this morning when i got up but nothing happened. Left it half an hour and so far nothing is showing on it. No line no nothing, so inconclusive. I think i might go down to boots and try their own brand of pg tests as i have heard that they are alot better than clear blue.
Still havent come on, obviously, still getting very impatient and still having period pains. I have checked my dates several times, and i have definatly got may dates right.
Only time will tell!!

Ghosty · 28/05/2003 20:53

Loobie ... I definitely had period pains when I was pg with my DS ... Didn't the last pregnancy ... but did over last weekend when I was due on and I am pregnant ... I think it is quite common!! Is your period often late or are you always regular? If you are usually regular then a test will give you a pretty definite result! Do a test ... go on ... you know you want to!!!

LucieB · 28/05/2003 17:13

Loobie - I would do a test and put yourself out of your misery. If you are 4 days late, the result should be pretty conclusive. I did get period pains when I conceived ds and some light bleeding so didn't suspect I was pg until about 7 weeks when my boobs got sore....good luck

loobie732 · 28/05/2003 14:32

No i haven't done a test yet. Trying to put it off as long as possible just in case i do come on. It is very frustrating though i cant wait to have a baby. I have been trying for 7 months now. Thanks for your comment M2T. I just hope that i am pg. Fingers and toes crossed!!!

M2T · 28/05/2003 12:59

Loobie732 - I had period pains around the times my period would've been due for the first 3 mths of my pg.

Have you done a test?
Good luck.

loobie732 · 28/05/2003 12:54

Just a few questions to ask as i am really confused lately. I did start using this site last month when i was trying to get pregnant.
Did anyone have period pains when they were first pregnant. I have heard that you can have the symptoms but i am now 4 days late and i have got a horrible stomache. Just need to know whether it is possible.
Thanks

dot1 · 28/05/2003 12:06

Hello - Bayleaf I'm so sorry - was holding my breath for you all weekend (I've been away) and I'm so disappointed for you. You're an inspiration for us all on this thread - but let's hope we can kick you out very soon..! (although you'd actually need to keep posting with all your advice/expertise!)

Ghosty - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the right time to try again will be when we're on holiday - why does it always seem to work out that way? I won't have tried since March and it's starting to do my head in... Dp and I might start to look into getting our donor's sperm frozen and stored down here, so at least the 250 mile round trip could be avoided, but I know frozen sperm isn't 'as good' as fresh, so I'm not sure. Ho hum. Something else to think about.

LucieB · 28/05/2003 09:52

Silly me - haven't engaged brain yet!!! Glad to hear all is going well. Trapped here within the confines of the square mile, its great to hear some happy news...fingers crossed for the rest of us this month!
You should set up a January baby discussion on the pregnancy thread.
