I have also bought the smily face version. Wish AF would arrive so I can get on with this cycle. I conceived dd in cycle 2, so similarly to you, I don't anticipate it taking a long time, which I fear may be my downfall!

I know what you mean about dh - mine was thrilled that it only took two months for dd, he's already muttering about 'firing blanks'. Knob.

Blocka · 27/03/2009 14:52

Haha, I think asking how many tests you have used is like asking a woman how old she is(i.e. we always deduct about 5 years/tests).

I had a pack of ten and they were like a box of chocolates. Couldn't put them down until they were all gone! Despite them ALL saying BFN!

Tryingfornumber2, you and I are in the same boat. I am going to resort to OPKs this month too (have already bought the smiley face version - these tests are costing me more than the bloody baby will!). I think the problem is I fell pg on the first try for both pg's (2nd ended in mc), so I am not used to this BFN malarky. DP is devastated. Not about me not being pg, but that his sperm is not as SUPER as he thought it was following the last 2 successes!! Haha!

wasabipeanut · 27/03/2009 13:14

MrsJ - buying that many was possibly not the best thing to do. They have a siren call and repeatedly seeing BFN's just make you want to stick your head in the oven (and I should know).

Can you put them in a cupboard or drawer you don't use very often and try to forget they are there?

I have 2 cheapies left btw but am not touching them again until I am at least 16 days po in any cycle. I was so good before - don't know why I cracked this time.

tryingfornumber2 · 27/03/2009 13:03

Can I join you?

We are currently ttc number 2, currently have a dd. Coming to the end of cycle 1, but have done a test today which was negative. Am going to try OPK next month, not sure if it'll help.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 27/03/2009 12:56

5 left.

I swear to God, I am never buying them again. No really, I'm not.

wasabipeanut · 27/03/2009 12:54

MrsJ - how many tests do you have in the house?

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 27/03/2009 12:51

I have done 5 tests. What is wrong with me? You're not pregnant, woman, accept it!!!

laurielou · 27/03/2009 11:36

haha, I agree - donttry - not sure if this thread is helping me, or making me more bonkers!

donttrythisathome · 27/03/2009 09:39

Wasabi, isn't that a bit early to take the test - thought 18 days at least po? Oh god, it is so easy to obsess though...right I'm turning off the computer now as am supposed to be working!

wasabipeanut · 27/03/2009 09:35

My AF still hasn't arrived but did a test this morning and BFN. At 13 days po (I think) I'm not going to kid myself.

Pah. I am obsessing totally and need to stop.

donttrythisathome · 27/03/2009 09:28

Blocka and laurieloo, wish my DP was broody! I think he only agreed as I'm so enthusiastic. Although he did brighten up hugely when it occurred to him that we might need a safer (read bigger and shinier) car...
"Mummy, why was I born? Well, darling, y'see daddy wanted a new shiny car...."
Laurielee, fingers crossed this weekend is it!

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 27/03/2009 09:24

Morning ladies. AF is definitely on her way, but not arrived just yet. Have had to hide the December thread . I'm not sure whether being on a conception thread is actually helping me or making me feel more pressure!

NakedInnocence · 27/03/2009 08:26

Thanks for updating Blocka, didn't even occur to me to update people's days - D'UH!

laurielou - it was DH was convinced me also, have never really been broody until last autumn when I thought it could be nice to start trying in a few years.

DH got really broody over Christmas and wanted to go now. Now that we've agreed I want to get going straight away

laurielou · 27/03/2009 08:18

Morning ladies, hope everyone is OK.

donttry - DP has been trying to persuade me for the past 10 years! Finally caved & now its all I can think about! No half way measures for me.

We're looking after our friend's 3 children this weekend - eek! Talk about one extreme to another. If they misbehave may pull the emergency cord on the bus & hop off!

Seriously, can't wait for the chaos!

Ovulating this weekend too, so a lively one ahead.

Hello ladies.
Can I jump on too. Am actually on December bus too but due date would be 31st December so I think Jan would be more likely for me too.
Another month of obsessing about hormones!!

I'm left the December bus and jumped on this one (good job I bought a transfer ticket) I'm making the most of it by smoking and drinking upstairs at the back for the next 10 days! (not really smoking, but you get my drift....)

MrsJoe - I think you might still be on the Dec bus? A BFN doesn't mean your BFN. Its not over til Aunty Flo sings....

thesoo · 26/03/2009 13:02

Yikes, just spent £50 on pregnancy and ovulation testing paraphernalia. Never did the scientific bit with dd, so a weekend of poring over instructions with furrowed brow to look forward to! Hooray.

yumyum73 · 26/03/2009 12:41

Hello everyone,

I'm trying REALLY hard not to obsess this month, especially as i know it doesn't do any good. Maybe part of the stress was hoping that I would be able to get pregnant and have a baby into 2009, so i'm hoping i'll chill out a bit now

Anyway, fingers crossed this is going to be the lucky bus for us all

MrsJ,
Just found out what BFN is (sorry, still finding my way around here). Here's to another month! Obsessing is right - I'm all worried about my luteal phase at the moment. Not so long ago I was blissfully unaware of it!

donttrythisathome · 26/03/2009 12:17

Laurieloo and thesoo,
So great to hear from you! I had to persuade DP, also 36 and never wanted kids. Felt so surreal to be arguing the case for kids - never thought I'd see the day! Really excited now though. And terrified!

wasabipeanut · 26/03/2009 09:16

Hey MrsJ - I think we can all be forgiven a me, me, me moment or two!

Onwards and upwards.
