Hi Effie everything crossed for you!
Well we didn't BD last night as DH went out cycling and didn't get home till dark and then he was too tired - that's normally my problem, not his .
Anyway temps still down this morning so looks like I haven't ovulated yet, so must do it TONIGHT!

missiek · 16/04/2009 10:58

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good easter, plenty of chocolate .
Blocka fingers crossed for you
Donttry you're right - it's fab not to have to obsess all alone, we're all here doing it with you!
Effie Congrats, brilliant news
I swore i wasn't going to do any obsessing, opk tests etc this month, but now I'm moving up the list, ovulation pending...its too hard to resist!!! I should ov on CD13-14 but I'm going to start testing on Saturday just to make sure! And I'm very loved up at the moment, so BD every night, I'm wearing DH out I know it should be every other night, but I just dont want to miss the window of opportunity.
baby dust to you all x

Higglepig · 16/04/2009 10:57

laurielou caved in this early this morning I'm afraid and got a BFN TBH I knew it was going to be neg but just wanted confirmation so I could move on. Haven't told DH but then he has no idea what my cycle is or indeed that I'm addicted to HPTs so I guess I'll just mention to him when AF arrives so that he knows. Feel so disappointed and suddenly a bit panicky about whether it's going to happen at all. Used a first response test so I'm sure it's a conclusive BFN.

blocka def sounds like you might still be in with a chance since you tested so early and are using a regular test

effie that's brilliant news - many congrats, lovely to be reminded that it can happen!

bringonthetrumpets · 16/04/2009 10:54

congrats effie !!! you're the first one on the bus! praying for you that everything goes well!

sorry about your - blocka. god knows we've all tested early, there's still hope for you. You've only got 4 days till af is due!

laurie i don't know how you can keep it together enough to not test! i've been dreadful and have tested twice (one the day after af was due). i think she's just taking her merry ol time b/c of bf ds. so really hope she's late for you b/c of a little bean growing!

donttry hopefully this is the month for you as well!

welcome tetleytea you've been added to the list.

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:50

yeah im like that, im supposed to be going to a party tomorow night, but :-/ not sure what to do, drink or not drink? and plus i dont want to worry my hubby as he thinks im just not pregnant if i dont drink he will think something is up or im losing the plot lol, its so hard to wait

Blocka · 16/04/2009 10:37

Hmmm. Just checked on amazon and they are exactly the same strips as I used. I think a line is a line, but if you more expensive ones are negative, I'm not so sure. Poor you!!

My problem is that I am away for a hen weekend from tomorrow. I really feel like this could be the month, what with the spotting etc and feeling sick. I don't want to not drink if I am BFN, but worried that if I do drink and I am BFP......

Might buy a first response and test in the morning. Although I think it will still be too early....

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:33

im not sure blocka i could say colourless and i could say an off pink as my mind is playing tricks i think!

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:32

i tried clear blue y'day i bought two but BFN so im not buying any until at leat sat morning

gemstones · 16/04/2009 10:29

Stephiepug Can you not pop down the shop and pick up a more "reliable" make? Good luck

Blocka · 16/04/2009 10:26

are you sure its an evaporation line? What colour is it?

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:22

i used the one step testing strips from amazon, they measure 10 miu but from the reviews they are not that good! i have lots of them upstairs but after 10 mins i can see another line but it could be an evaporation line, so i really dont want to use them now,but i dont wanna wait! im such a control freak and all this is really winding me up lol, i dont know weather to laugh or cry x

gemstones · 16/04/2009 10:19

Morning Ladies

BIG congrats to effie- Lovely news!

Blocka Theres still a good couple of days for those hormones to kick in so try not to feel too disheartened!

Blocka · 16/04/2009 10:08

I used some sensitive tests from ebay, they are meant to pick up 10miu and the packet says they can detect 7 days after ovulation. They were only about £5 for 10 tests(including delivery), so I am not overly confident about them.

Really pleasd you have tested every day, makes me feel better about testing so early!

Fingers crossed for you!

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:02

blocka it is early, but i also tested day's 23,24,25,26 and 27, Im so naughty!! and all BFN but which test are you using? my earlier thread said that even 2 days beofre AF due its on 84% EFFECTIVE so there is hope !!!!
Mine is due tomorrow and i have no idea i was convinced AF comming until i saw the statisics on the box, now my mind is a wondering! x

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 09:53

CONGRATS effie!!! wonderful to have some good news!! x

seanybosmummy · 16/04/2009 09:10

congrats effie, i will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

laurielou · 16/04/2009 09:00

donttry thanks, but I don't really feel strong, just incredibly frustrated & insane. Don't really know what I'm trying to prove by waiting until Sat. Think DP & I are just thinking we'll be able to spend the day in a daze, whatever the result....

laurielou · 16/04/2009 08:58

Oh blocka I'm sorry. That really is a rotton way to start the day.

Don't be too hard on yourself for testing early, its so tempting & we've all done it.

Hope you feel better soon ,

donttrythisathome · 16/04/2009 08:57

Oh crikey, missed Blocka's last post! Sorry Blocka!! TBH though it does seem too soon. It's a FALSE negative.

donttrythisathome · 16/04/2009 08:56

Effie - fingers and legs crossed for you!

Blocka - How soon could I test (day 23 today?) and any recommendations for where I could buy cheap tests? I really feel AF is coming on though....

Laurie, you are a stronger lady than I!

Blocka · 16/04/2009 08:54

Wow wow wow Effie!! Big Congratulations!!

Well, I did a test this morning (stupid me) BFN. I am actually quite gutted.

I know it is far too early, but I just couldn't help myself and now I feel very down. Let this be a lesson to all of you who are thinking of testing early.

My syptoms had disappeared, but I do feel extremely sick right now. Maybe thats just the sadness.......

effie that's brilliant news, congratulations!! Let us know how you get on with GP later.

I'm now starting day 33 - NOTHING! No AF, no feeling of AF.......no testing yet either! But also no sleep, no work, no concentration, no sanity!!

MUST WAIT UNTIL SAT!

higglepig you still with me, or have you caved? Keep us posted.

Hi to all new members, x

islegrin · 16/04/2009 03:50

(I hope it's ok to do this - my apologies in advance if this violates nettiquette, just let me know and I'll surrender my keyboard err, take my lashings!) I had to go back to research Effie and here are her humble beginnings:

By EffieGadsby on Wed 08-Apr-09 12:20:59

I'm going to hop on too, if that's okay. DP and I started TTC this cycle (which will probably be ending later today or tomorrow, if my cycle hasn't gone haywire again). I feel it's going to be a long process for me, as my menstrual cycle is completely unpredictable; my most recent big gap was 90 days at the beginning of the year. Test results indicate that I don't have PCOS, which seems really bizarre given my symptoms, and my thyroid function is normal, so I haven't a clue what's going on.

I've been charting my temperature since January, and I'm not convinced I'm ovulating at all. So, while the doctor considers what else I can be tested for, we'll keep at it and hope for the best. My vitals are:

Should I re-post the whole list with me on the bottom?
