Alfies.. same here, am TTC#4 and in a similar position in that this may be our last month for financial reasons.

My DDs are 12,10 and 5 and have had 2 miscarriages this year so am dreading passing the dreaded due dates without a bump to keep me company. I'm 29, I did want my family finished by 30 but thats clearly not going to happen and I have a while to change my mind.

We only made the decision to stop a week ago so I now have to secretly keep my fingers crossed that I'm pregnant this month (shhh dont tell DH) but if I'm not it's not the end of the world...

alfiesmadmother · 23/04/2009 13:07

thankyou for you advice Laurielou! Am TTC #4 so hard to justify being desperate for a baby, but when we have been trying a while (and first 3 conceived first go, which is worrying me). He works in buiilding so prospects not great but he would do any job to keep us going and so would I, just a stupid time for us. And I guess things change, and I will be able to work from home when the baby is born.

I have sacked OPK's and only one left for tomorrow and then no money now to buy more!!! And i have not had my surge, although it could not be due yet anyway. I think we are going to try and BD every 2 days but easier said then done!!!!

GGood luck Marla, Funny how these months drag by and then suddenly to testing, I can't wait to start testing , need to BD first though!!!!!!

potatofactory · 23/04/2009 12:17

Thanks for putting me in my correct place, Newmember

laurielou · 23/04/2009 10:06

oh alfies so sorry to hear about your DH's redundancy. I've been there myself a few years ago & its not a nice feeling. However, looking back it was one of the best things that happened to me. So I have my fingers crossed for you.

I can see your dilemma re pg. Mmmmm, my friend's who are always trying to persuade me say that if you think too hard you can never really afford a family, just go for it.

What are your DH's prospects of getting another job soonish? I mean, it could be a month or 2 before you conceive, then the obvious 9 month wait - he could well be settled into another job by then.

marla I have my fingers crossed for you too (proving difficult to type now). Like your approach though.

Oh don't say that some of you are considering stopping OPK's. I'm on CD4, waiting for it to buggar off, then I'm planning to use OPK's for the first time. They're in the drawer waiting & calling to me. Never used them before, hoping to have a bit of advice & support.

Hello to everyone else I haven't mentioned by name.

alfiesmadmother · 23/04/2009 09:32

Ok so I have EWCM-and CD15, but had no surge on OPK at all yet! Oh I guess we just need to get down to it!

On a more serious note DH got made redundant yesterday and my hours have been cut, don't know how we will manage and don't really know what to do. My head is saying stop trying for a baby but my hormones and heart are saying keep trying as we have been wanting to be pregnant for months

Pinkjenny · 23/04/2009 09:19

Marla - I am trying to decide whether to ditch the OPKs as well. Not sure whether they are stressing me out even more, I never used them when ttc dd. My AF is due today, but not appeared so far. I did a first response though, so I know I'm not pg. Am starting to relax about it a little now. I think once you get the BFN, you grieve a little, and then focus on the next month.

I have started to have little cramps tho in my lower tummy, also feel a bit different (down below - sorry if tmi) So not sure what that means!!!! Although my mind might also be playing games!

Blocka · 23/04/2009 08:44

Hi newmember when you said 'a wee update', I was looking for the outcome to your pg test!! I thought your meant wee-wee update hahahahaha!

donttrythis why oh why oh why do the HPT's not having a warning on that using them when you are BFN will bring your AF on??? Exactly the same happened to me this month - I used two within an hour of each other (because the first one was obviously broken), and I swear within about 10 mins, there she was!!

The back of the bus is a good one this month, so you will have a great time on your journey with the rest of us.

Chocolate and wine for you as well x

donttrythisathome · 23/04/2009 07:59

Newmember I couldn't sleep last night either wondering where AF was.

Well, I got my answer this morning as the witch arrived. Not before I cracked and got 2 BFNs last night and this morning though. The irony...

saz - I'm joining you at the back of the bus. Shove over and hold tight as this is our month!

I've decided to stay as cycle 2, as I didn't really try properly in the first cycle.

Ok think I may need some help here. I am getting to the stage of really wanting to test and finding it hard to resist the temptation to test tomorrow which will be 10dpo.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resist?

liahgen · 22/04/2009 21:20

Marla,

Oh yes i know that feeling, Am on day 19, and was so tempted to test today but absolutely sure would be too too early.

Yep #6 for us, mad eh?
