hi, any advice would be great. ive missed 2 periods now, got some pregnancy symptoms (but is it all in my head- even the cheese and onion sandwich with SUGAR!)but taken hpts 4 days late, 12 days late and 4 weeks late but still neg.

my friend scared me and said could it be ectopic but ive googled it and it doesnt sound like it, no pain anywhere. just feel pregnant????

want to know if anyone has had anything similar and what was the outcome?

if i was pregnant id be nearly 9weeks so surely id have enough pregnancy hormone to turn a test positive. am really baffled, and worried case its sumin else!

thanks for taking time to read x

i know i should be pushing, unfortunately im not a forceful person, but i will try to be! (i promise!)

i know there is definately something not right going on. my minds moving from baby to more serious, its horrible not knowing

man who took blood at drs said it probably was about me when the hosp talked about a very faint pg test, said NHS are bad at telling you everything and as i was in a&e section they were probably trying to get rid of me, nice!!

am finding out results to thyroid test etc tomorrow then hormone check in a weeks time. il keep u all updated

no1Ch-m - I think that you ought to be pushing for a scan to be done too. The full blood work-up might not show anything. My mum and sister had negative tests on pregnancies, it does happen. If you have a tender tummy, it could be pregnancy related, or not! But it should be investigated. Do go back to the doc and tell him about the tender tummy and see if he will send you for a scan.

rubles · 16/04/2009 15:59

yes I think that is relevant and a doctor should be made aware.

no1childminder · 15/04/2009 21:11

is having a tender tummy linked do u think?

went to drs today but wasnt usual dr just someone taking blood so didnt tell him bout tender tummy, pain etc.

having a full hormone check which can take up to 10days, i hate the waiting!!

i did take a test yes, bout a week after i stopped the pill and it was neg. dont know what is going on!

i went to docs and i have to go back next wed (ages away cos of bank hols) for a blood test. hes guna do a blood preg test and also test for other things too. he did tell me what but it just went over my head lol.

ive started to feel really tender in my pelvis area and just above it, especially just above it. my lower tummy i think its called. only hurts when i lie on it or its pressed gently. started a couple days ago. does this sound like its linked? its also started to hurt during intercourse particularly in the right side of my pelvis. i stupidly forgot to tell dr this so def telling him on wed.

duchess i cant believe your friend, wonder why it doesnt show up, did her doc tell her why? that is strange!

I have a friend with four children who never had a positive pregnancy test. It can happen.

juneybean · 07/04/2009 14:43

Did you try another test?

no1childminder · 07/04/2009 14:21

seeing doctor today so hopefully i can get an answer from him!

just thinking, now i wish i didnt stop my pill. apparently it can take months for your periods to go back to normal and some women dont have periods at all for a few months, so now if i miss another period i wont know if its the fact ive stopped my pill or if its the same reason why ive missed my last 2! oh dear. nothing is ever easy is it?

OP posts:
no1childminder · 28/03/2009 12:26

yeah, will do. thank you everyone for your stories and advice

lest us know how the test goes.

no1childminder · 23/03/2009 14:21

definitely, my pregs with dd and ds1 were great as i missed most of the first trimester.... ds2's dragged unbelievably!

Haribosmummy · 23/03/2009 13:30

Haha! better than mine, PT... Found out with DS at 22 weeks and Dbaby at 18 weeks.

And only did the test with Dbaby because I had similar symptoms - bloaty / tired / inability to drink alcohol!!

Still, it makes the whole PG thing pretty short!!!

PinkTulips · 23/03/2009 13:27

she's 4 and has 2 baby brothers

ds1 i got a faint positive at 10 weeks and ds2 i got a whopping great big fat line at 5 weeks so my body seems to have gradually learned what to do!

Haribosmummy · 23/03/2009 13:07

Gosh PinkTulips!!! That's even more than my story!!!

Amazing!! How old is your DD now? My DS is now 10 months (where did the time go / doesn't time fly / yada yada) and Dbaby is due in August!!!

No1Childminder - please keep us posted!! It's a spine tingling moment when you hear you ARE pregnant - whether it was planned or not (Neither DS nor current bump were planned in the slightest!!!!)

PinkTulips · 23/03/2009 11:31

i had a scan after i went to the docs convinced i was preg and he sent me to hospital.

they did urine and blood quantitive tests, told me my hcg levals were 18 so i probably had been pregnant but i wasn't now, did an internal, said i definitely wasn't preg so sent me for a scan to see if i needed a d&c as i hadn't bled.

dd was perfectly fine, a gorgeous little teddy bear blob with a heartbeat

still have no idea why it happened, although my mother took ages to get a +ive test with me so possibly freak of genetics and we just don't produce much hcg

tomanykidstoname · 22/03/2009 12:56

i found out with my first because i had a bleed so they agreed to scan me n with the 2nd i just knew

tomanykidstoname · 22/03/2009 12:53

it is def possible the pill could well be affecting the tests because of the hormones its got in too

no1childminder · 22/03/2009 12:52

PINKTULPIS- how did you find out you were pregnant in the end? and did u feel pregnant even after negative tests? theres just something niggling at the back of mind!

OP posts:
no1childminder · 22/03/2009 12:50

so it def is possible. ive never been pregnant before so this 'feeling' pregnant might not actually be it could it?

i wonder why some pregnancies dont show up pos straight away?

HARIBOSMUM- think i will stop pill for at least 3 days, or even this whole month. thanks for advice.

OP posts:
tomanykidstoname · 22/03/2009 12:42

hi iv got 6 kids n on 2 of them i had 3 negative tests over 3 months if thats any help the doctor made me feel dillusional

no1childminder · 22/03/2009 12:38

that did confuse me a bit lol

it was really horrible. i ended up crying (quite hysterically) when i got home think it was just everything getting on top of me- missing periods, feeling pregnant then not, then did again. then on top of that hearing i was (if that was my test they were talking about) then having an hour to let it sink in and get excited bout it, then to be told im def not!

As you can read i am on the pill so wasnt trying but i am a VERY maternal person. ive been a nanny for 6 yrs and now am a childminder so even wen i changed my career i was still in childcare! so being pregnant would be a lovely surprise.

i was hoping for a scan yesterday, or even a dr to fumble around with me but no. as im sooo confused a scan would have really determined whether i was or not. my friend told me i should of lied and said i have strong abdominable pains then they will but i didnt want to lie. im too good, now i wish i did!!

(just noticed how saucy that sounds bout wanting the dr to fumble around with me lol!)

OP posts:
Haribosmummy · 22/03/2009 12:27

Oh, No1childminder - sorry about that.

I think you should stop taking the pill and retest after a minimum of 72 hours.

I know when I went to the drs. I gave blood and urine samples and Dr was 100% sure I wasn't PG (In fact, the pregnancy was only cnfirmed when I went for a scan as they thought I had a tumour!!)

ANd, in my last post, obviously I meant betting not better
